Can I do upper body again?

Hi everybody. I am fairly new to training with weights. I am liking the results.

I did triceps and Chest on Monday, missed a workout on Tuesday, did back biceps and shoulders and legs on Wednesday. I did slow and heavy on all body parts. 10 lbs. is example for biceps. I worked to fatigue and was shaking on my last reps on most exercises.

My question is can I do another upper body workout today? Or is that too much?

I have PUB, ME, Power hour, slow and heavy, and many others tivo'd.

Thank you,
Lori

You need to go by how you feel. Mild soreness can be okay, but if you are really hurting, give your muscles another rest day. After working slow and heavy once this week already, I would suggest you switch to an endurance workout such as ME or Power Hour. At least, that's my personal preference.

Take care,
Sandra

I think it depends of the tired that your body feels. When I am very tired after a weight workout I usually rest two days.In those two day I like to do a cardio workout. On Wednesday I did S & H triceps and chest because I am doing the November rotation and my muscles were shaking. Today my arms and chest stay tired. Maybe tomorrow I will do IMAX 1 and ME premix upper body.

I've found that when lifting heavy, if your goal is building, rest is as important as the work you do (it's during the rest period that your body builds the new muscles fibers). I would suggest not doing another upper body workout until Saturday or Sunday.
