I am wondering how to determine which body type I fall into. I always see posts talking about being endo-, ecto-, or endo-meso etc.... Just wondering how to figure which category I fall into.

Here is a post, posted by Angela. Hope this helps.

There are three generally recognized body types:

Ectomorph - small-boned, slim, often short-waisted with long limbs, has a hard time gaining muscle

Mesomorph - average build, athletic, gains muscle easily

Endomorph - large-boned, tendency to gain weight easily

Some folks are a combination of a couple of the above.

I wonder the same thing. Even though I have read many articles on body types, all of them are very general and do not talk about subtypes. According to the size of wrist, very thin, I am an ectomorph, but I can gain weight quickly. I don't have long limbs and am petite. I am not sure what is gaining muscle quickly...in two or three sessions seeing a significant amount of muscle growth?

I forgot to tell you that I once read that if you put your thumb and your middle finger around your wrists and can put one over the other, then you are ecto. If your fingers only touch, then you are a meso (not sure if meso or endo), and if fingers can't reach one another, then you are an endo (not sure if meso or endo, can't remember well).
