It is sooooooooooo much harder (physically) working out in the morning (5 a.m.) than later in the day. I find this especially true for weights and can't lift as much and I feel much more sore the following days than I normally would. I always do a warmup before. I realize that working out in the morning revs up your metabolism for the rest of the day but independent of that do you think that you burn more calories doing a morning workout? If so by how much?
