Cathlete
Good morning, ladies…

Can’t seem to sleep in these days, but that’s OK…I have plenty to do today. Am enjoying some nice DOMS in the bi’s, glutes, and lats from yesterday’s workout (LL, 4DS B&B, and 20 min. EXT).

The massage yesterday was good (I think I actually nodded out for a bit) but truthfully not as good as the spa where I usually go. I guess it is true that you get what you pay for. I had *a lot* of knots in my back.

Wendy :: so how was the “Schtupperware” party?

Angie :: haaaaaaaaa…love the Speed channel “crack.” :7 Not sure which earlier thread we were referring to, either. There are several that got me rollin’ my eyes lately…I looked up shopping in a dream book I have…it says: “looking around for new ideas, knowledge, new attitudes, food for thought.” Also says about storms, they can represent “any emotion from self-pity or disappointment to absolute outrage” and the “intensity of the storm gives you an idea of the power of the emotions behind it.” A snowstorm in progress: “Upset is upon you, you need to release your own way now or fortify yourself against what is already in progress. If you are feeling great, it could be that someone else’s upset is about to engulf you. Be warned and ready.” …That is a great idea for the mineral makeup containers. Ugh, but I hate Walmart! *lol* Ha ha about Ziggy. I do have a thing for nerds. :) …The student is back in school, but she can’t go back to that foster home…I’m sorry there’s now MORE turmoil in this kid’s life, but I don’t think it was the best placement for her. It was a real white-bred, Bible-thumpin’ fam and they just didn’t “get” this kid or know how to handle her needs... BTW, I haven’t tried CC, but I *love* iTrains. The iClimbs (for the EXT) are da bomb. There’s a new iTread that I used with the EXT - #27 ski circuit – awesome!!!!

Di:: how was the tea yesterday? Sounds like a nice outing to give the two of you a break…thanks for the encouragement…the madness actually will not end for me until the end of March, when I have to ship out my portfolio.

Have a great Sunday! BBL...

Good Morning Cabbers.

Well I was good last night and kept the cabs to a minimum so I'll have no trouble doing my work out this afternoon. :)

The party was fun. I bought a few tame things. The other stuff was waaay too expensive and I know it can be bought cheaper elsewhere so I passed. I must admit though that some of that stuff certainly had me curious and wanting to try it!}( I think Laura would have had a freakin' BLAST and spent her life-savings there last night!;) :p :7

Cathy: Glad you have DOMS. I guess "you get what you pay for" really does ring true alot of times. Will you go back to the other spa from now on? Just a reminder...the ski trip is this saturday and still on so see what your week is like and then you can let me know if you'll be joining us or not. :)

Okay, well it's time for breakfast and DH wants to use the computer anyway so I'll BBL!:)

Good morning girls

Today is rest day, but I do have to write up my next rotation for the next 6 weeks. Then, it looks like I will have to do an X rotation again. Writing the next routine should be pretty easy. I think I'm just doing the 4DS with EXT workouts in there too.
We had friends over last night to watch the race. I behaved though, so I got a good night's sleep and have energy to get stuff done today. I've got to wash fruits and veges and figure out what I'm gonna do with my chicken. I'm going to look for a crock pot recipe and try something new.

Cathy - Wow...thanks for the dream interpretation. Holy crap! Sounds like I've got a lot going on. :7 Nah, my life is way too boring for all of that. LOL! BTW, we did get about 6-8 inches of snow.
I don't think you'd have to go to walmart to get the plano container. You could probably find the same type of thing in any sporting goods store or target.
It does seem like the boards are a bit touchie lately. I don't really spend much time on the boards, but there has been a few posts that I'm thinking....ya, someone wants some drama in their life. It's pretty sad actually. Usually, I just ignore and move on. I rarely post on the main boards b/c it seems like no matter what you post you're likely to get flamed. I have thick skin, but most of the time it's not worth the time to type it, ya know?
So did you have a productive day yesterday with work? Sounds like you have some March madness coming your way eh?:7

Wendy - So did you have a toy party last night? I've never gone to one, but I have a friend who was a "toy" party planner. Too funny!
What w/o do you have going on today?

Diana - So how was the tea? Did grandpa watch the girls while you went out?

I'll catch up with you all a bit later. I really should go get some laundry started.

Good Morning Girls!!

Well for some unknown reason, I was up at 6:30 this morning. Instead of dreading being up that early-I got up, started the coffee and did my taxes! We are only getting back about 1/2 of what we got last year.:( I have a few more donations to enter in but I feel really good about it being 95% complete. I'll probably e-file later this week.

I'm taking suggestions for a workout today. I have plenty of time for a cardio and a weight workout. Suggestions anyone???

I loved the long cardio I did yesterday but boy were my feet hurting after that one. Getting older is a real pain(literally). I can't believe I just said that.

Amanda and I had a great time at the tea. It is a scholarship fund raiser for one of the many organizations that my MIL belongs to. We helped MIL clean up afterwards and pack her car. She was limping pretty bad-she said it was from all the standing she'd been doing the past few days baking for the tea. She's such a wonderful person.

DH brought home a 16X16 slab of black granite to see if I was interested in having the countertops replaced. OH my, it looks so beautiful on my counter next to my black smooth surface stove and white cabinets. DH isn't comfortable with cost he was quoted so we'd like to get a couple more estimates. Also, we'd like to remove a wall and add an island and new hardwood flooring from the front entry way, formal living room and kitchen. Well now were talking a lot more money that just replacing the countertops. DH wants to retire in 13yrs so I'm not sure we want to take on this expense right now.

Cathy-I hope you get some restfull sleep soon. Have you done your taxes yet?? I know it's got to be close to your personal goal date of getting them done. Your wo sounded great yesterday. Isn't nice to feel your muscles when you've worked out hard.

Wendy-I must've missed the post about the toy party. Hope you had a great time. I finally figured out WOWY. I logged in, did my workout and came back and posted that it was done.

Angie-I bet your excited that Racing Season is underway. I say the speedway in Bristol, VA when I was there for work. I would love to see a race up close and hear the cars buzzing by. What a rush that would be and you get to experience it up close!!

Laura-Hope you're having a great weekend!

Back again

I've got a few loads of laundry done, but still quite a few to go. I've got 2 packages of chicken in the frig. DH will be grilling one of them so I was left with a quandry on what to do with the other. I decided to experiment and try a combo of 2 recipes I found on sparkrecipes.com. I put chicken breasts on the bottom of the crock pot and added a can of cream of broccoli soup, half can skim milk, a package of onion soup mix, a bag of frozen broccoli and topped it off with some cut celery and carrots. It SOUNDS good, but I hope it delivers. I like all the ingredients individually, so hopefully it will taste good all blended together. It's hard to mess up anything in the crock pot so I am hopeful. I'll let you know tonight how it went.

Do any of you know what size weights Cathe is using in the new blog update? I'm wondering if I should be looking at 40 & 45 DB's too?

Diana - Great job getting the bulk of those taxes done!! I'll bet you feel relieved. The accountant called me yesterday and told me we overpaid....a lot! :) So, if I don't find any major errors, we will be getting a healthy refund in addition to carrying some of the overpayment over into next year.
Maybe C&W today or a 4DS workout?
Awwwwww....sounds great about the tea. Hope MIL gets some down time now to recover.
I hear you on the house renovations. We just noticed yesterday that the french door downstairs is sprung and the door is bent so it won't seal like it's supposed to. We know the kids must have somehow done that but we haven't asked them about it yet. So, we're going to have to get a new door which will entail tearing off some of the siding. I have wanted to replace the siding for years so maybe this will be the excuse we need to re-do the entire house with a new deck, new window, and new front door too! So, I can totally relate to your situation. Now, we just have to pick everything out, get a contractor, and get going as soon as spring arrives. Everything happens for a reason right???
I hear Bristol is the BEST place to watch a race. It's definitley the most exciting race to watch on TV, so I would imagine watching it live would be a thrill.

Well, now that I've got dinner going, I'd better go figure out what I'm having for lunch.

Later girls

Hey girls!

Wendy :: My preference is for the spa, yeah…but I think the cheap-o joint will do when funds are tight. It was OK, but you know, I think when you find a massage therapist that’s good, you should probably stick with him/her…I *so* wish I could come skiing this weekend—believe me, I’m ready to break these chains and definitely have a HUGE itch for the slopes, but it’s just impossible for me right now. I’m trying not to feel guilty about the Killington trip @ the end of the month. That is probably going to be *it* for my ski season this year. Not sure, but that’s the way it looks. Glad you had fun last night. The one I went to, we laughed so hard, we about cried. I was with a bunch of co-workers, and we kept giving false names (the names of other co-workers).

Angie :: Our rotations sound similar. I like this combo, too. It was wayyyy too windy for a run today, so I opted for the EXT, and even though I am in a hilly area and get a good leg workout out on my runs, I daresay the EXT works the legs harder. I can't believe how little mileage I put in these days. I *never* used to XT! But I think it's healthier for me…OK, see, I was thinkin’ the dream *could* be your subconscious dealing with MIL’s upset and/or the impending anniversary of FIL’s death…I haven’t looked up a dream in that book in ages, but I do find it interesting. Of course, sometimes dreams are just random, IMO…You are absolutely right about the rest of the boards, and that is usually a policy I follow as well…lately, though I’ve chimed in here and there. I have had a productive weekend, but I’m in a situation where the pile never ends, ya know? The portfolio is due at the end of March, so that is the deadline I’m up against. Then I have to start studying for the exam, which is in June. But hey, I know I brought this hell on myself. *lol* How was the experimental chicken recipe? I didn’t look at the blog pics that closely, so I’m not sure about the weights. Good Lord—45#s? What are you liftin’ now?

Di :: Woohoo on getting the taxes done! Me too! I efiled but then had an error with my signature (my fault), so I had to refile and print off signature forms to be sent by mail. But no big deal—it’s done before my V-day deadline, which means *quick return*. Yipppee!! Oh, and I went out and bought TurboTax since you and a few of the cheetahs endorsed it. Thank you! Made things a real breeze…You’ve probably worked out already—but if not, how ‘bout good ol’ HSC?…Poor MIL. Hope the limp isn’t anything serious. My mom has a hard time walking after she’s been seated awhile, and I keep nagging her about it, but she’s stubborn…Oh boy, one home improvement project leads to another. The granite countertops would be sah-weet!

OK, I am off to go get cleaned up and continue with my work. My workout was Iron Core Kettlebells (1 set only) plus PH abs on the BOSU (whoo!) and 20 min. on the EXT. I tried to read while on the machine, but it might be a tad too bouncy.

Have a great Sunday night!

Hey, where'd everyone go?? I feel like I'm talking to myself here.

The laundry is done (at least until the boys get home from grandmas) and the crock pot invention tastes yummy. Now I have to make some noodles or something to put it over since it's a little runnier than I had anticipated, but it might firm up in a bit with a touch more cooking.

I also got my next rotation figured out. I have a heavy amount of 4DS and have also mixed in some S&H, GS, and PS workouts too. I'm using cardio coaches and IMAX's for cardio only days. I have high hopes for my new routine.;-) Tomorrow will kick off with kickbox and heavy legs and core. I can't remember if Cathe does weights or cardio first on these, but I am going to do weights first on all of them. I'm starting each week off with a heavy weight legs workout which is something I've not done before. Usually I like to do legs in the middle of the week and then surround it with UB, but we'll see how the change goes. Gotta keep trying something different right?

Well, I'd better go tackle the frig now before this day slides by.

Angie

Hey Cathy - your post slipped by me. I got interrupted during my post by Daytona 500 post qualifying interviews. I know, blah, blah, blah....LOL!
Hmmmmm....I forgot about the MIL situation. You definitely could be right about that. Which reminds me, I gotta go get the paper and find out when they do the bingo thing.
At least the end is in sight with your BUSY schedule. June is right around the corner which I know just seems to put more pressure on you right now, but just think, it will be over before you know it.;-)
Well, right now I'm using 30# for the one arm rows but I need to increase weight and I don't have anything heavier right now. I was also looking at the weight she's using on the plie squats. I can go heavy there as well. I just don't know what I'm gonna need. Heck, I probably won't figure it out until I have STS in hand. I will definitely be getting 35's but don't know if I'll need anything heavier.
Woooohoooo on getting the tax stuff done!!

I'll check back later on this lazy Sunday
