Hello ladies ..

guess I will get us started today .. :)

I took out some frustrations last night .. it was hot in the room though .. so I did not do all of what I wanted to do .. dang it .. had a bigger class!!

got ticked coming to work .. got behind this car .. it was swirving all over the road ..I was thinking sleepy driver .. OH NO .. when we finally got to a stop sign .. she was TEXTING ... OK .. we were going 75 MPH (yes speeding) on a major highway .. and this idiot was TEXTING .. x( x( x( .. WTH??? I couldn't beleive it .. she crossed the center line right before meeting one vehicle at one point .. I had to keep my distance b/c I just knew she was going to wreck .. that just ticks me off to no end!!!!x(

ANYWHO .. got out from behind her first chance I got .. idiot drivers!!

A few DOMS to report . shoulders and buttocks!! not bad though .. today is BBC arms at lunch .. tonight have not decided .. I may throw them for a loop and do a cardio kickboxing class!!!}( }(

OK . gotta run .. will BBL for personals!!!:7

Angie .. sounds like you had a great time this weekend .. no problem on the non clean eating .. you will make up for it girl!!! DH wants the pup .. aawwww .. that is great .. let us know when you get the call!!! :)

Hey .. did any of you see GMA today?? They had a Dr. on talking about fat around the abdomen and heart problems .. he went over the waist to hip ratio .. I was shocked .. he said the waist measurement was to be measured at the belly button ... NOT the waist :eek: ... I ran in a panic to grab the tape measurer .. I am still under the reccommended .88 .. but that was a scare!! and to my surprise I lost and INCH in my hips :eek: how did that happen??? wasn't expecting that one!!! OF COURSE the waist measurement was the same x( .. I have decided I am a freaking RULER ... LOL .. a muscular ruler but a ruler none the less .. LOL .. gotta do some extra cardio and clean up some eating to get some much needed fat off my midsection!!!;(

Hey Laur, Sorry about the idiots on the road. I am in Jersey so you KNOW I combat that all of the time!x( That hip/waist ratio thing annoys me to no end because I am not fat. I do not have any excessive blubber in the middle yet according to these so called doctors I have a bigger chance of dying from heart issues simply because I have a naturally thick waist when compared to the size of my hips. PHOOEY! I pay no attention. I believe if you have too much fat around the middle it's not good but the ratio thing, IMO is not always a good thing to go on. JMO ofcourse. ;)

Today I have intervals + steady state cardio on tap. As of this moment the plan is to do Interval X+ at nap time and then head to the gym around 4 for a 20 min run on the TM. You know me though...this could change at any moment!:p

I checked my tracking #'s...I have my Swat work outs coming today and my new running kicks should be here tomorrow! YEEHAW! I wish it was reversed though. I could use my kicks today and I won't be trying a SWAT work out until tmrw as I'm not doing any weight work today.

Speaking of weight work...Y'day's work out kicked my butt. My upper body is pretty firey today. }( Can't wait to do that one again!;)

Gotta go fix lunch for the little guy...I'll be back later though!

RE: the thick waist thing .. I brought up core work making the waist thicker the other day .. b/c my waist is thicker than it used to be .. but it is muscular .. yes I have the little "pooch" below the belly button .. but my obliques are really hard as a rock .. so I tend to agree w/you on the ratio thing.

B/c you being fit .. what is making the measurement larger is not fat but muscle .. so that somehow should be calculated in there .. or for a fit muscular person go by body fat % only .. ??? .. IA the ratio is probably right for your average person .. b/c I know some UNFIT people who have TINY waists .. on the other hand .. one of my friends does not exercise .. and has a teeny weeny waist .. but LARGE hips .. and walking gives her out .. so by the ratio she is probably OK .. but by her fitness level she should be worried .. !!!!

ahhhhhhh ... think everyone has a different body type .. and no matter what type you are you should strive to be as fit as possible .. eat healthy and have your numbers done every year .. and that is what should judge your overall fitness/health outlook .. Who says that?? I SAY THAT .. that is my opinion and I am sticking to it .. LOL!!!!:7

BTW ... went to the gym .. SIL could not meet me so I did the elliptical ... OMG ..kicked my arse .. hamstrings are fried . . forgot what a number it does on the hamstrings .. YOWZA .. was going try kickboxing tonight .. but may have to rethink that .. LOL!!
 
Hi ladies,

This morning was the official start of my marathon training. I was out the door by 6:15 and the weather cool-actually perfect. It was an easy 3 mile run which will be the same for the next week also. I used my garmin for the first time and really like it. Well except for the part where I downloaded the information and it has the date as May 29th instead of June 16th. May 29th is the first time I turned it on but I did not actually use it.

I had originally planned on heading to the rec ctr at lunch but need to do some last minute shopping for DH's birthday tomorrow. Over the weekend we bought a big LCD flat panel TV to replace our huge 53 inch take up the whole family room tv and I want to get DH a couple of Blu Ray dvd's. I did not realize how expensive these were. DH will be picking up the TV and stand tomorrow. I have no idea where were going to put the old TV.

I slept like a baby last night after a tough BC class. We did harness runs, marching to 50, high knees to other end zone, pushups, squats, dips, hill running etc and repeat for a long time. We finished up with situps, hovers and a nice stretch.

Laura-I cannot believe someone was texting while driving. I don't usually answer my cell phone when I'm driving. Yes-I love the elliptical-it's tough workout when you put your all into it! Great Job. APX is Amy Bento's All Pump Xtreme dvd. It is a total body weight workout with premixes for 3 day split etc. It starts off with multijoint exercises and moves into legs and then into upper body. The multijoint & legs segment is an hour and the upper body and abs took an hour. It has some new moves that I really like.

Wendy-You have another race this weekend too! You and Cathy are really motivating me to get back to running. The first 2 weeks of training is very low mileage with the long runs being only 6 and 7 miles. Do you know how I can reset the date on my garmin? I looked through the manual and the only date I set was my birthdate. Enjoy your workout(s) today.

Angie-How nice that DH's favorite racer won! I'm sure you can clean up your eating and catch up on your workouts now that you are home. Did you have to go in to work today?

Cathy-Where are you??? Hope you are just busy finishing up the school year and cleaning out your classroom. Hope all is well with you.

Boy, I still don't feel like bringin it.x( I've decided to do a Cathe week this weeek and then pick up the X next week so I can put my all into it and not miss any workouts. I picked up Cathe C&W today and did that, thinking it would be an easy workout. Why do I do that?? Cathe workouts are not easy! *lol*
My eating is still not perfect since I was hungry as heck today, but it is much better than it was the past few days. It sure wouldn't take much.:7

Laura - I'm with you on being annoyed (OK, pi$$ed) at people who don't pay attention when they drive. Unfortunately, some innocent person that shares the road with them will probably have to pay for their stupidity! Sheesh! I don't even know how to text. Um, maybe I'm showing my age a bit much with that comment.
You are so lucky to have access to gym equipment for your lunch time. Do you have time to eat too? Did you ever have to get back to work yesterday or did everything stay off-line all day?

Wendy - I've not been able to keep up with the open forums. Is swat a new workout program or a DVD?
What did you ultimately decide on today?

Diana - Glad you like the garmin. I hope you can figure out how to change the date.

Hi Girls.

Well I did half of Interval X+ at nap time and then headed out to the gym after dinner for a run. I am *STILL* having TM issues x( so instead of trying to run FAST, I ran HILLS instead. }( I ran for 20 minutes and was beat when I was finished so I was happy. ;)

Diana: I have the bottom line garmin so I don't know anything about downloading and date changing. Cathy might know though. :) Yeah, I have a 5k this saturday. I am thinking of signing up for another 5 miler in mid-July. I did it last year and liked it. It was a hot one but a nice run none-the-less. I also admit to wanting to beat last year's time!;) Good job with those BC classes girl. Are you going to to continue with them thru out your marathon training? If you do then you are a braver soul then I!}(

Ang: Sorry about your lack of motivation for the X. You are smart though to take a break and switch over to something else so that you don't go skipping work outs. That's why I am taking the week off from A/B before doing stage 2. I just need something different to keep my exercise ADD in check!:p Speaking of which, the SWAT work outs I got are DVDs. I admit though, to almost buying another work out program in a book at B&N the other night!}( I was very tempted but something made me leave it behind. I've considered looking for it on amazon to see if I can get it cheaper though. If it's the right price, I may cave!:p
