Cabs and Abs on a Mundane Monday....

Hello there Ladies.

Can you believe I was barely on the forums AT ALL y'day!? Odd for me but I slept out saturday night and by the time I got home y'day morning I didn't have much time before I was right back out the door with DS and DH for a family party up north!

Anywho, about my race...It was saturday morning so y'day was my rest day. It was a 5k that was comprised of about 1 mile on the streets, 1 mile on hilly, lumpy, bumpy, narrow trails in a woodsy area and then the final mile on the road. The trails slowed me down but I STILL managed to rock about a 28:45 time! WOOH! I'm quite happy with that!}( As of last night they did not have the official results posted yet but I'll be checking again today. :)

Today's work out is all about the cardio. I start stage 2 of Afterburn which calls for 4 three minute cycles of HIIT plus w/u and c/d. After that I plan on doing a steady state TM run. Not sure how I'll do the HIIT but I'm leanin' towards the elliptical since I haven't used it in a couple of weeks. }(

Diana: Funny you should ask for thoughts on what kind of weight training/schedule to do while training for your mary as I am debating the exact same thing for my 18 miler training!:7 My personal plan as of right now is to do stage 2 of AB which is one month long, then do WSFL's work out plan (it's a month long as well) and then move on to 2 kb work outs a week + 1 regular upper body work out. I plan to start my actual training at the end of July at the same time that I begin the WSFL routine. I may have to make some adjustments to the program in order to do my long runs but that's okay. If I find that it REALLY doesn't work for me then I will skip it for now and move on to the kb rotation. I'm sure THAT will be absolutely fine while doing my race training. At minimum though, I would do weights 2x per week. If you can, I'd say keep it at 3x. As far as you how choose do it-split, all f/b, etc...that's personal preference. :)

Alrighty, off to get more java but I'll be back to check in on my peeps when I get home from the gym!

Good Morning Ladies,

Yesterday ended up being an unscheduled rest day for me. I did get a lot accomplished around the house and feel good about that.

Since I missed my planned leg workout yesterday, I'm doing Leaner Legs & abs this morning. Tonight is bootcamp so that will take care of cardio for the day.

Wendy-great job on that 5K. I'm doing 10K trail run in Aug. that's really fun. Thanks for the wt. training suggestions. For upper body 4DS is short enough to fit in after my weekday morning runs. I hope you like intervals on the elliptical as much as I do.

Well .. DH and I had some LOOOOOONG talks this weekend .. OH BOY .. LOTS of things he has not told me .. and I do now understand the things that were not making sense to me. So "we" are 100% better .. but I still have concerns and worries .. all I can do is pray and hope things work out the way they are supposed to!! :)

My w/o w/Sean got messed up .. I have lost the charger cord to my IPOD x( x( .. I have NO IDEA where the dang thing is .. x( .. Ibrought it to work one day to charge it here .. and I have put it somewhere .. Lord only knows where .. dang it .. I hope they sell them seperately .. :eek: CAN'T go w/o my IPOD or SEAN!!!!!:eek:

Wendy .. congrats on the race .. yeah if you are not used to runnning trails that will slow you down .. I run in the woods and it always is more of a w/o b/c you have to watch your footing .. and seems I am always jumping over things .. the hills are killer.. etc .. makes the run uber hard!! congrats on the time .. WTG girl!!!

Angie .. sorry no luck on the pup hunt yet .. sure she will be worth the wait though!! The OF thing .. yeah I am always careful what I respond to .. but thought it was a safe one .. the thread was poking fun at the media making Obama's "fist bump" an overnight sensation .. as if that was newsworthy .. I found it funny and agreed w/the original poster .. and as usual a couple of people had to get all upset .. thinking we were attacking Obama .. ridiculous .. that was not it all ... it was the absurd notion that the media treated this "fist bump" thing as if it were unique and something new .. WTH??? I dont get it .. that is not the first time such posters make a big deal about nothing .. I mean wake up people .. get a life (BTW I did not respond to the negativity .. it only fuels the fire)!! LOL .. I usually "lurk" in the OF and just seems there is such negativity and over-reactions on a good majority of people .. I have enough drama in my life to deal w/anyway .. I just find when I read on the OF I leave ticked off and feeling REALLY negative b/c of the condescending attitudes and down right uglyness of the lot of the topics and posters!! Same thing w/the STS forum .. people telling CATHE how to run her busines and what to put in her videos and acting to juvenile about every single thing .. GEEZE ... GMAB{{{{ climbing down from my soap box now }} :D

ANYWHO .... planning on attempting BBC again at lunch w/SIL this week .. tonight it will be 1/2 cardio step 1/2 shaping in class!!

BTW girls...You've been asking for a potty training update. Sorry I've been so remiss about getting back to you on it. I just posted a thread asking for a bit of advice about potty training in the O/F this morning. Check it out and you'll have your update!;-)
 
Just reporting BBC chest and abs done .. OMG .. not going to be able to move tommorrow . . forgot how many freaking push ups there were .. SIL and I were cracking up .. b/c we didn't remember so many ... YIKES .. one things 4 sure .. will NOT be working chest in class tonight!!!

I am surprised it got to me .. b/c I have been doubling up on the pushups in my regular classes .. guess I have not been doing that many reps back to back ????????:eek:

my muscle fibers are just a trembling!! LOL

Di... Glad you were able to get much done yesterday...isn't it funny how shredding can be so time-consuming? I get TONS of catalogs and junk mail offers, and I really should destroy them right away...How can the utilities go up that much when the average raise doesn't even come close to double digits??? It's insane!...I do enjoy the AM runs as well. My training was similar--6 miles, 5 days a week. Oh, those were the days! 7...LL this morning followed by BC tonight--holy smokes! You are one tough lady!

Angie...Sundays were definitely made for loafing! :)...What is UV Blue?...Twilight is a vampire series,too. I think it is supposed to be a mix of spooky and romance...I have read book one of the Cirque series. Didn't think I would like it but was pleasantly surprised. I've added several more titles from the series to my classroom library, and the kids really dug it.

Laura...yes, you can buy the iPod charger separately...You will probably find that sucker as soon as you buy a new one!...Vacation started on Friday, but now I'm doing committee work for part of this week (Monday through Wed.)...Glad things are improving for you & DH.

Today is a rest day. Feelin' really good after yesterday's long run. No aches, which I'm glad about. I do need to think about what rotation I want to follow now since I decided TT is not where I want to go for the moment. Hmmm...

Hi girls

I got C&B with ARX done. Ah yes, push up and pull up hell. I go pretty fast on the push ups to get my #'s up, but I'm probably not going as deep as I should. I also am pushing the chair back further on pull ups, so my #'s there are down, but I'm using less "leg" help with those. Hopefully someday I'll be able to do them without any help. Only 2 weeks left of the X.:) I have a garage sale to help out with on Thurs - Sat., so I may have to sub something but hope I can squeeze them in anyways.

Wendy - Congrats on your race!! It sounds like a fun one.
I'll have to check out the OF and see how the potty training is going for you.
Do you use the EXT very often?

Diana - BC can take care of the cardio?? Ah, ya....that's an understatement! *lol* I swear your BC class would probably take care of my cardio for the entire week! LOL!

Cathy - UV Blue is the raspberry vodka I use to mix with my diet sprite.:9 There's a pretty good chance you may be trying one of those drinks out in August.;-)
Oh, good to hear bout the Cirque series. Maybe it will keep Cody's interest. It would be great if he just WANTED to read, but even if I have to force some quiet time, I will. He seems to like the way it started out.

Larua - Glad you and DH got some things hashed out. I hope the new worries aren't too bad for you. (((hugs))) At least you can both work on whatever it is "together". Is DH still working those long and consecutive shifts?
Re the STS forum - I rarely even go there. I figure we'll get it when it comes out and the questions will be answered when we get it. Cathe wouldn't put out a product without proper instructions on how to use it, so I figure it's just easier to wait for it. IA some of the comments on there are just plain stupid. There's always those people out there who have to have some sort of drama in their lives. I just don't need it.
OH my word - BC chest - you are one brave girl! I hate push ups but do them when I HAVE to. BBC is just relentless with them!

I just found a new listing for beagle pups in petfinder. They are 2 hours away, which is do-able! There is a litter of 6 with 5 of them being females. :) I'm calling at 8am when they open and asking my questions and if everything goes well, may be on the road tomorrow morning to pick myself up a pup. They are only 4 weeks old, which makes me think I will not be able to bring one home just yet, so before I get too excited, I need to talk to the shelter in the AM. Keep your fingers crossed for me girls.

Ange...So, how are you liking the X results this time around?...*lol* 'bout the UV...Unfortunately, I don't really think you will have the downtime for a hang during the RT. Based upon your arrival time, I'm thinkin' you'll have to go straight to the hotel and onto the afternoon festivities. That's OK. Maybe one of these days we can make a Cabber GTG happen...Shan is good about ending chapters on these little cliffhangers, so it makes you want to go on. I'm glad Cody likes it so far. If you would like any other book recommendations, let me know. I try to keep up with YA lit as best I can and have been pretty good finding books for reluctant readers...I still haven't decided on a particular rotation. I napped while I was supposed to be doing that. :p :7 I think I may just fly by the seat for the weights this week and go by whatever I'm in the mood for. :) That is great news about the pups!! Oh, I hope it happens for you.

I am trying to download the licensed version of Microsoft Office. I started it before I dozed off, but it disappeared, so now it's back to square one. I really don't feel like sitting here all night for this sucker!

Yes, I'm liking the X results. I've gotten a few comments these past couple of days, but it's been from folks I haven't seen in over a year, so I'm not sure it's the second round of the X that's responsible. *lol* I didn't take any before measurements, but I do like the definition I have now. I will probably post pics when it's over. I hate doing that, but I have to in order to have something to compare to, especially since I'm not all that good about tracking my progress in other ways.
Oh crap, I was thinking I had 3 nights instead of just 2. Why didn't I book the flight for Thurs instead of Fri??? Duh! Ya, the weekend may be a complete blur. I sure do hope I get the chance to meet up with you though.:)
LMAO at your nap getting in the way of your rotation schedule. I did the "fly by your pants" rotation last week and it seemed to work out just fine.;-)
I was too cheap to spring for Microsoft Office on the laptop at home. I doubt I would use it much here anyways, but I'm sure you will use yours all the time. I'll bet it comes in handy with all those projects you have going on.
Hey, how did that computer blog idea of yours go this year? Will the school be using it next year?
Have you heard of the Michigan Chillers or American Chillers series? A local writer here started publishing these books a few years back and they are a huge hit in this area. Go to americanchillers.com and you can read some chapters from his books. If you are interested, I could bring them with me in August. He has a nice way of leaving that "hook" at the end of a chapter too. I might have to take you up on the other book recommendations, thanks for the offer. But, if Cody likes the Cirque series, that should keep him busy for the summer.
I'll keep you posted on the pups for sure. I'm trying to rein in my excitement b/c I know I may be in for a let down. I'll know soon enough though.

Ange...Spain beat Italy in PKs after OT...The next one is this Wednesday: Germany vs. Turkey in the semis. My boys should win. :)...Great that the X-revisited has brought continued definition and results! It's always good to hear it from other people...Well, there really is not much excitement in So. Jersey, so I don't blame you re: the RT. *lol* It'll be nice just to meetcha and chat on the way from the airport...I do need Office for my schoolwork, so unfortunately, I had to spring for it...The message boards met with limited success. I still have permission to run them, but I may not since the cost comes out of my own pocket. Thank you for asking...I haven't heard of the Chillers series. I will check it out. If you saw the stack of "to read" books I have for the summer, you would laugh. There is just not enough time to read during the school year...Understood about not trying to be too excited. I'm hoping it works out.
