Hiya girls
Sorry it's taken me soooo darned long to get back here. The forum change was too much to figure out last night and it wouldn't let me sign in so I figured I'd wait until they got things straightened out. It's taken me a while, but here I am...
First off, I have to say that I am just blown away by all of your well wishes and kind words. I was a soggy mess going thru the posts.....you all have touched my heart and I truly thank you so VERY very much. I'm just amazed at how you all can actually FEEL my pain. I wouldn't wish this situation on anyone, yet you guys put yourself in my shoes and go thru this horror with me. I'm just floored by you all. I wish I could reach out to each of you and give you all a HUGE HUG! THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH for your support and understanding!! You guys are the BEST!!!
So, we went camping this weekend.....what a nightmare. I was sick...nauseated and had NO energy. Ya, I know it was from the grief, but the physical symptoms were like trying to survive a hangover, except sleep didn't bring much relief. Finally on Sunday I started feeling better. I just had NO coping skills at all on Thrus or Friday. It's so crazy how things like that can affect a person - just had nothin' left.
Anyways, we were on our way down and DH clipped a road barrel in a construction zone and tore the awning arm off the trailer which also caused some other damage as well. So, I was on the phone first thing today to submit a claim to the insurance company. Thankfully our insurance agent rocks and so does the place that is repairing the camper. He did about $2500 in damage - he did it good.;( They'll have most of it fixed by this weekend.
On the dog front, Cam and I went and got another beagle on Thursday. Her name is Maggie. At first I thought this dog would be more subdued, but that's not the case. I think she was just timid at first and getting used to the new environment. Now, she's a raging maniac! She's just being a pup.....full of energy, or what DH calls piss and vinegar. When we got her she was in a small kennel with 5 other pups and I don't think there was a whole lot of human interaction. She had never been inside before we brought her home. The boys were comparing her to Snoop at first, (she was bigger, not as cute, etc.) but they've stopped doing that and have really started to bond already. Personally, I'm doing much better today. It was a very busy day at work which helped to keep my mind off it. Thankfully the bad memory is fading. It's not the only thing I think about and I can eat and sleep again. As far as the workouts, I did run today. I didn't want to workout in the basement, so I gave the running shoes some miles. Of coarse, my knee is sore and stiff again. I guess I'm gonna have to try different shoes the next time.
Wendy - I hope you start getting some cooler weather your way. I read your post about your red-faced workout in the gym. Heated workouts really take it out of ya - good job pluggin thru it.
I guess we are just stuck on the beagles. *lol* Actually DH came up with the name. He said he had a Maggie beagle when he was growing up and she was a really good rabbit dog. We'll probably never know if our Maggie will be a good hunter since I am too afraid that DH will lose the dog in the woods. Darned beagles have a bad habit of getting lost while hunting.
So you're off on vacation at the end of the week? Good for you! What are you going to do in MD?
Diana - Good job on your hot run the other day. Cleanmax can certainly also burn the calories! Plus, it's usually not an optional workout......and not a very fun one either. I'm doing laundrymax right now so I can feel your pain.
I'm so sorry your going to have an empty nest soon. I'm sure you are going to be sad for a while and the house will be all too quiet. (((hugs))) If it's any consolation, I'd be happy to send you a couple of pre-teen boys. *lol* I can promise you that your house will NOT be quiet when they arrive!
Laura - You're gettin hit with the heat too! I can NOT imagine living in the south. Is there supposed to be any relief in the near future?
Thank you so much for the email address and the offer to chat. That was so very sweet of you! I was without my puter for a few days.
I guess the bright side of the whole situation is that I can appreciate what I DO have. I have a healthy family with healthy kids and wonderful supportive pals!
Don't give yourself a stroke in that class tonight girl! Who in their right minds would attend one of your torture classes when the heat is that intense BEFORE working out?? Lemme guess.....SIL? *lol*
Cathy - Glad to see you pop in and visit. I so appreciate the condolenses! I can't stop gushing about all you girls......you really have touched my heart with your sincere warm fuzzies. Oh damn.....I'm starting to cry again....ACK!
Hope the marathon training is going smoothly.
I'd better get to bed. I gotta go in tomorrow and clean up my desk....today was a typical Monday. One of our drivers backed into a guys camper and I have to finish up with the insurance claim on that as well. Grrrrrrr! Wish I could figure out these smilie icons....
