Good morning, girls!

Don’t ask why I’m up at 4 am on a Saturday…but I figure I’ll use it to my advantage and get some things done before class. After I goof off first, of course. :)

Wendy :: (((HUGS)))…I had a feeling something was “off” with you…somehow you didn’t quite seem like yourself…Sorry you’re going through a rough time right now…know that we’re here for you and wishing you tons of positive vibes to deal with whatever it is!!!…Yes, Zappos does have the free return shipping. I think I'd better boot shop (in this case) in person, though. I want functional but stylish. :)

Di :: I am keeping my eyes peeled for a black Friday sale on ellipticals and may actually spring for one soon. Love to run, just not on the hamster wheel (TM). I didn’t lose very much on the X, either – just a few lbs. but my measurements went down and I think I “firmed up” some more. I am going to try to add in extra cardio this time around. I hope having a pullup bar (instead of only using bands like last time) makes a difference, too.

LOL Cathy about the goofing off first. Heck, I've been "goofing off first" for 2.5 years now!:p Why do you think I like to get up at 6:30 every morning? It's certainly NOT because DS is up and ready to roll! LMAO! It really is sad though as I could get so much house work done first thing if I had the mind to do it. :eek: Thanks for vibes/support. :) I've been dealing with this situation for some time now but it's getting to the point now where I have to do MORE then simply "deal with it" and it sucks. x(

I am going to do an upper body circuit of my own creation today and I want some DOMS from it in the morning, gosh darnit! I managed to get booty DOMS from my self-created lower body work out the other day so I think I can create something evil enough to do the job for upper body too!}(

MIL came over at 10 and woke me up this morning.:eek: I was up into the wee hours of the morning reading BFFM. Interesting stuff. I guess I never really realized that you can't lose fat and gain muscle at the same time. Makes sense I guess. I just never really thought about that before. Hmmmmm....good stuff to think about and I'm only on Chapter 4.
Since MIL took the boys already this morning, I think I'm gonna get my butt in gear and do some errands in town and then go into work. I'll be late for work on Monday since I signed up to give blood and the earliest appt. was at 9. I figured since all the guys were hunting most of the week I shouldn't be all that busy on Monday anyways and Cody has an away game that day and I won't be working out, so.....I might just as well. At least I can get rid of some calories that way.:7

Wendy - I too had a feeling things weren't quite right with you. I was hoping I hadn't posted something to offend you. I'm so sorry things aren't going your way. ((((hugs to you)))) I wish I could offer some wise words of advice....but since I don't have any, I'll give you some support instead.;)
Upper body today eh? Might I suggest those new pull ups on the X+ w/o where you pull yourself up, get into an L shape, and slowly let yourself down? I did a few of those and I definitely felt it!! Those pullups sounds like they are right up your alley.

Cathy - Boy are you an early riser! Maybe you can find a good deal on an elliptical in the classifieds? I have my eye on my sister's elliptical. They have a fairly small house and they just use it to hang clothes on. I'm waiting for her to get sick of it and want it out of her way. I'll be waiting...... Evil, I know.}(
I can't say that you didn't warn me about LL. I was dripping sweat. She just doesn't let up!! I actually threw down my barbell at one point at the end of a set! I was kinda thinkin Cathe was gonna scold me....it's like she knows when she's pushin it and we are hating her. LOL
Coolness on the new pullup bar. Your back is gonna be screamin at you....woooohooo!
I couldn't get my rebounder together last night. I'll have to wait for DH to get home from hunting camp to help me. I couldn't believe it was that tough to get together. Cam was a bit disappointed, but we'll get it together tomorrow. That kid will be bouncing off the wall.....literally!:7
So, looks like maybe some boot shopping in your weekend plans?

Diana - GS rotation sounds great! You'll get to w/o with bands, rockin music, and tons of choices....not to mention your fav...IMAX3.

You have to work TG? What a drag. I remember when I was nursing we had to work those major holidays every other year. At least we got paid double time and a half. Hope you will be getting the big bucks. Plus, it was not too bad working TG b/c I could get out of work and then go right to TG dinner that I didn't have to make.:)
Did you get any gains with the X? Inch loss perhaps??

Hi Ladies,

Thankfully today is Jerod's last football game, against the toughest team. It's a team that's been together for 3 years, our team has only been together for 3 weeks. I sure hope they win.

I haven't worked out yet but I hope to do leaner legs and KPC. Angie's review of LL is right on-she just never lets up. I was going to do GS legs, but changed my mind.

I have doms in my back which I never get from Cathe. My calves our still very sore. I hope it goes away soon.

Cathy-My my, you are the early bird. I would love to have an elliptical. DH would even use it too. I will be shopping on black friday. I try to get almost everything bought on that one day. The trouble is finding a place to hide everything and then remembering where I hid it. I hope you like the door gym.

Wendy-I hope your stressful situation clears itself up soon. I'm sure you will come up with a killer upper body rotation. I wish pullups were easier:) Maybe that's why we get great results from them, because we have to work so hard at them.

Angie-BFFM is chock full of useful information. I'm a salaried employee so I don't get paid any extra for working on TG. I am going to ask for a comp day though. They may so no, but there may be some legal issues for not compensating for holiday work. I did lose inches with the X, but I'm overweight as it is and weightloss is really my goal at this time. I'm tired of carrying an extra 20 around.

Wendy :: I like my morning “goof off” time…it is how I like to ease into my day. I’m a morning person, but I don’t usually hit the ground running. I like to take my time, enjoy my tea, and some PC time and/or the newspaper.

Angie :: I’ve decided to buy a model that Sears has on sale tomorrow…What a jerk buying myself a piece of fitness equipment at Christmastime, eh? Well, there’s no one to spoil me but me, so why the hell not, I say…But if I knew someone who was getting rid of one, I would definitely go that route…I am not in a shopping mood at all. There are some sporty/outdoorsy shops on my way home from work - I think that’s the kind of place I’ll need to look…So I may just scoot out on time one day next week and hit a few then…BFFM is some good reading.

Di :: good luck to Jerod’s team!! *lol* about hiding the presents and then having trouble remembering. I usually do try to finish all my shopping by the end of BF weekend, but since it’s early this year, I am setting my goal for 12/1. I only shop on BF for a very small window of time b/c I loathe the crowds. My dad wants me to try to get a computer for my mom…Have had success some years at Best Buy, but the computers are always the hardest to get. Each year, people line up earlier and earlier. Will have to see. Family members always try to get me to do their dirty work b/c I guess I’m the only nut who thrives on this every year. One year, I actually camped outside a store overnight to get those darn Furby things. *lol* You guys have me pumped about doing REAL pull-ups. I just hung from the bar for a few seconds and found that was hard enough. *lol* I’m really in for it, I guess.

OK, I’m going to putter a bit more, do lunch, and then go on a cleaning spree before workout time. I did a work out of my own design today for upper body and then wrapped it up with BM2 abs and a stretch.

Here's what I did for upper body:

Round 1:
standard push ups
reverse grip chins
side tri rise
dips
band bicep curls
inverted shoulder press
band o/h shoulder press
band upright rows

Round 2:
wide fly push ups
wide fly pull ups
band kick backs
dips
band bicep curls
band front raises
band side raises
band upright rows

Round 3:
dive bomber push ups
close grip o/h pull ups
side tri rise
band isolation bicep curls + bonus reps
band o/h shoulder press

I did between 12 and 15 reps for most of the exercises. I felt I got a good work out. }(

Cathy: When I saw the smiley you used to describe your woozy, unbalanced feeling I couldn't help but bust out laughing! Soooo funny! You're feeling like this is not funny but the smiley is just plain ol' hysterical! Thanks for the laugh!:)

Angie: I think I'll wait on those L pull ups until I have the X work out in my hands. I'm not ready to torture myself THAT much yet!:7 Offend me??? No way girl! No worries!:)

Diana: You hit the nail right on the head. Pull ups are so effective cause they are so dang hard to do!!!!}(
 
Wendy :: looks like a great w/out! Yeah, I thought that was a funny smiley, too...and accurate! :7 Guess what? I just tried to do a pullup. I don't even think that counts as one. My legs wound up swinging. Egads. I am weak! *lol*

Change of plan for me. I am dying to try the Bosu workout, so that's what it'll be. Might add on something else afterward once I see what it's like. I just went on a cleaning rampage and am taking a little breather before donning the workout duds.

OK....who's doing cabs??? I might have to make myself a drink after I make my lonely dinner.;-) Although, I might not since I want to stay up and read late into the night again. We'll see...

I just got done with 4DS KB. That one really gets my low back for some reason, especially after the dead lifts and the side squats off the step with the 20# weights. Anyone else feel it there?? I was thinking I probably shouldn't do that w/o after LL yesterday, but thought WTF? I went light on the barbell and sidelined the ankle weights but everything else went as planned. I bent down to pick up a towel after I got out of the shower and realized that my glutes are already feelin it. Tomorrow will be a Tony ub w/o.

Diana - So did Jarod win? Did you do LL and KPC? Hats off to you on even planning to do both of those on the same day.

Cathy - You are not a jerk for buying fitness equipment for yourself. Sheesh...a girls gotta splurge every now and then right? Besides, a lot of folks don't like to buy people fitness stuff b/c they don't want to send the wrong message. Not only that, there's so much to choose from that you kinda have to pick out your own. So, there.......how's that?:p You can just call me Ms. Enabler.;)
I wonder what's up with that vertigo? I think maybe you should go get that checked out. Strange huh?

Wendy - It LOOKS like a good workout. You are so creative with your w/o routines. Maybe you could make up a WendyX DVD series. You know.....that might not be a bad idea.;-) I'll bet you'd come up with some arse kickin' workouts.

Ange :: no CABS here...this is my quiet weekend escape...ahhh! I'm lovin' it. I quaffed plenty aboard Disney. :)...I've only done the leg work 2x on that one...I do feel the dead lifts in my low back, but mainly I think, because I was having some cricks in that region...thanks for the enabling. :) I don't know about the vertigo. It is weird stuff. I do feel kinda like my head's swimming right now. Probably the bouncing around didn't help. I don't like it. I've never had it on a regular basis like I'm having it now. IA Wendy is good w/ developing routines.

I have a hankering for some milk and Oreos and will curl up with this month's Women's Health, which just arrived today. I *should* be reading Nat'l Board stuff, but nah, the slacking continues...

Oh BTW, just did the BOSU DVD (approx. 30 min.) Not what I would call a solid workout but more of an instructional DVD to show you some exercises to do on the ball and to get acclimated to it. I don't think I'll use it again. But I'm likin' the BOSU a lot. Even just for core work and pushups alone, I think it was a worthwhile investment. It brings a whole new level of challenge. Expensive, yes, but I'm happy with it. My back felt more comfortable during the ab work than it does when I'm on the floor. Good stuff!
