Angie :: hope it’s nothing serious with your knee…I love t-storms, too…Sometimes I feel sleepy after massages. The hot stone ones *really* knock me out. But yesterday’s left me feeling invigorated…No, none of ‘em are sci-fi, but Disturbia’s a thriller that I think you might enjoy next time you do feel like sitting down for a movie...OK on FB. Understand completely! :)

Yesterday, two new AoS DVDs arrived. One of them, Newport, is supposed to be extremely tough, so I’m actually gonna keep that one on the shelf for a little bit. I’ll try out Firepower later.

I’ve been up since 3-ish. Did one of those things where I woke up, looked at my cell phone to check the time, saw that I’d received the awaited email from my mentor, and of course, *had* to read it. After that, I couldn’t fall back to sleep. This one portfolio needs A LOT of revision. It’ll get done, but realistically, I know in my heart that I am not going to achieve on this first try. I’m not down or discouraged by any means. I just know it and accept it. Next year it will be easier, and in the end, I’ll be a stronger teacher for it. That’s the whole point in the first place. I wound up writing all day yesterday and did not do any of the paperwork stuff, so I need to get on that today. So nothing exciting happening here, but all is good.

Morning Cabbers.

Sorry I never got back here y'day. After I got home and put DS to bed last night DH and I spent some time Wii'ing before bed. We bowled, played baseball and golf. Tonight we are going game shopping! Wiiiiiiiiiii!:7 :7 :7

I wanted to do a TJ work out today but my shoulders need a break in a big way. They are REALLLLLY sore....almost SCAREY sore!:eek: My obliques are also sore in a big way so I think if I did a TJ today I'd break something! LOL! I am debating between a step work out or a short run keeping in mind that I have the race in 2 days. Things that make ya go HMMMMM. :p

Cathy: Glad you enjoyed y'day's massage! So any idea when that fitness game for the Wii is being released?? COngrats on the new PC, by the way! DH and I plan to get a laptop with some of our tax refund money!}( Any plans to kick back and celebrate this weekend or will you be working to the very end?

Ang: Be careful with that knee, girl! Homemade chicken soup!? :9 :9 :9 Well, my strategy for my upcoming 10 miler is to run the entire thing. I'd love to finish with an average pace of 10:30 or less but we'll see how that goes. I don't eat anything special the night before. I just try not to eat cr@p. In the morning I eat a normal breakfast-usually cereal. I'll add banana to it if I have one on hand. Thanks for the vote of confidence. :)

Diana: Sometimes our sore muscles are telling us something! If you are that sore then you need to rest. My shoulders are killing me like I said above so I am not taking a chance today. I'm resting them. Sorry the HM you and Amanda wanted to do together isn't going to work out. Make sure you pick another one!;)

Laura: I enjoy Yoga X and I also like Baron Baptiste. I've never done any of the others you mentioned. The PPY I did strikes of the more advanced version of Yoga X. He holds poses for a while like they do in the X but there are different poses...HARDER poses for sure!:eek: }( I wanted to do atleast a little of the 2nd one today or tmrw but I'm not so sure that will happen because of my shoulders. I will have to see how I feel tmrw. LOL about your crazy dogs! Life is never dull when you have "kids", ey? ;) So did you have to cancel class last night? I hope you are feeling better today. (((HUGS)))

I guess that about catches me up for now so I'll BBL!
 
Good Morning Ladies,

The sub for my meltdown class is a nordic walk instructor and that's what we did. It takes a lot of coordination. I was glad to just walk though and not do anything to exhausting. We did some wonderful stretches afterwards.

I will be doing some kind of cardio this morning. I have a dr. appt at 11 and won't be heading into work until afterwards. I am going to ask about my feet problem and see if surgery is an option. I have a new dr. and am hoping for better results than I had with the last one.

Cathy-I have only had chair massages and they are wonderful for me. I am very ticklish and don't think I could make it through a normal massage. I wish I could though. I'm so excited for you to finally put this NB work behind for several months. You have such a great attitude regarding the whole process.

Wendy-My goal when running races is to run the whole way. I never really worried or cared about my time, but I did want to run the whole distance. You'll do great. As far as my running goes, I definitely need new running shoes. Mine are 2 yrs old and I use them at the rec ctr. I think resting yesterday was the best thing for me as I feel so much better today.

Angie-Maybe it's just the slow pace of S&H that is bothering your knee. Hope it is feeling better today. We have leftover Turkey from Easter that I'm using to make a big pot of soup with. yum yum

Laura-How are feeling today? Much better I hope. Do you have fun plans scheduled for the weekend?

Off to get more coffee before deciding on a cardio w/o.

What is Nordic Walking?? Good luck with the new doc. I sure hope he's better then the last! Keep us posted on the foot surgery!!! So when do you plan to shop for the new running kicks? Speaking of shopping...I got a 15% off coupon from Modells for my B'day and it's burning a hole in my pocket!:7 Any new distance I run is not for time but if it's something I've run atleast once before I like to try to beat my previous time. I am hoping to run my HM in May faster then October one!}(

Ah yes, I will be having a CAB or two tonight. I went to work today and had some stressful moments but I'm glad I went in so I didn't have to deal with it on Monday. I was even able to get my office vacuumed and mopped.http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Others/cleaning-212.gif
The knee really hasn't bothered me too much today but I thought I might do PUB instead of an interval w/o, but we'll see how I feel when I hit the basement.

It seems a bit strange that we didn't hear from Miss Stoney today. I hope she's feeling OK. Hopefully she passed that dern stone today. :)

Cathy - IA with Di, you have a great attitude about your NB stuff. You can only do what you can do, hope for the best, and if it's not good enough, re-do it later. The second time around will probably be much less stressful and less of a mountain to climb as well. I'm sure you've already become a better teacher b/c of this. I doubt most teachers would even be willing to go thru it, so I envy your enthusiasm to be better at your job. I sure hope your school district appreciates what they have in you.;-) Does it go out in the mail on Monday??

Wendy - What w/o did you do that fried your shoulders?
Glad you're having fun with the Wii. It looks like DH will be taking the kids in on Sunday morning.:) I hope they have better luck than I did. What games are you going to get? Cody wanted a Mario game....can't remember which one.

Diana - So what news did you get from the new doc? Luckily my PF (self-diagnosed) on my right foot hasn't really given me problems in a while, but it certainly is a pain when it acts up. I hope you can get some relief.

Hi ya girls!

I did BM2 scrambled eggs premix minus the weighted leg work. I stopped about 20 minutes early. My mind started to wander and therefore following the choreo was no longer possible!:p

Ang: You won't be alone in the CABBING tonight. I think I am going to make DH stop at the liquor store so we can have some CABS while we WII this evening!:7 DH is getting Guitar Hero. I have no idea what I will get. There is a fitness game that I want but it's not yet released so who knows. I'll have to look around. It was the conglomeration of endurance work for the shoulders all week that burned 'em up. }(

Well, I've got to hit the shower now. I'll be back later on...Well, that's the plan anyway! LOL

Hi ladies,

I did Absolute Kickboxing this morning. It has weighted intervals and I really enjoy this workout.

They did my bloodwork this morning and I already got the results back before I left work. Thankfully, my blood work came back great. As far as my foot goes, he said even with surgery I may not be able to run. I'm trying to see a specialist to find out what to expect from the surgery if I choose that route and what other options are available. I want to be able to stay active into old age.

Wendy-Nordic walking is done with poles. It differs from trekking, where the poles are placed in front of you to assist you. With Nordic walking the poles are placed between your front and back foot and you propel yourself forward with your arms. It uses a lot more muscles than simply walking. Angie-No Imax 3 today, but I definitely need to do it soon. The weather is supposed to be nice tomorrow so I may try to go for a run, and do some kind of weights, probably legs.

I have to admit I have 2 mudslides already tonight. I'm afraid to look at the calories...what if I have all four tonight...do I have to fast for a week???? That's my problem, I only sweet, high calorie cabs. Oh well, its been months, maybe more than a year since I've had anything other than a very ocasional beer.

Cathy-I'm celebrating with cabs for you..please join us. Wendy and Angie are indulging tonight. I'm sure Laura is to. :)
