C&T - Let's Be Thankful - Thursday

Happy Thanksgiving to my lovely C&T ladies!!!

I need you all to know how deeply thankful I am for this forum and your friendships. You girls have just been such a shining light for me this past year as I have struggled through this move. Thank you for your constant encouragement and support. You are all truly some of my best friends!

This morning I did Power Max (from Cardio Hits). Holy smokes, but floss Cathe is mean! 8 in step and all kinds of power moves. Sweat my little butt off and it reminded me of college step classes circa 2000!

Today I am meeting a friend for coffee and doing some errands and then this afternoon I have Kick Max on tap.

Did you all see that workout manager will post your completed workouts to facebook? I just started using wm this week and I LOVE it. It's so fun. I love how it tells me how many calories I'm burning - so motivating. I find that (according to my hr monitor) it's pretty accurate. Sometimes a little low, sometimes a little high. Today it was low. I burned 530 and it said 440. :)

Okay, time to eat bfast. Eats were clean and very tidy yesterday and the scale was kind this morning.

Girls have the sillies... must go supervise.

BBL!

Good morning ladies!

I set my alarm for 6 am but my body woke up at 5 am like clockwork:rolleyes: Oh well, I have plenty to do. My house is pretty clean, my table is mostly set, and I have started my food for today. I am going to workout here in a few minutes (run, then weights). I really can't do much until Collin wakes up - I need him to sleep as long as possible so he won't be a terror later today!

Not sure if I have mentioned this here before, but I have a parenting dilemma... My son LOVES dolls. All he wants for Christmas is Barbie dolls, Polly Pockets, and princesses. He has absolutely no interest in trucks or cars or GI Joe or anything like that. I know it's normal - to an extent - for boys to play with dolls, but this is to an extreme. On one hand, Christmas is about all of your dreams coming true, so if he wants Barbies I am inclined to by them. On the other hand, I know that sooner or later (most like when he goes to school), he will get made fun of for playing with dolls and of course I want to prevent that from happening. What do I do? Does Santa bring "girl toys" to boys?

Okay, off to be productive.

PS I want to echo what Angie said - I am so thankful for this check-in and the love and support that I find here. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday!

Okay, now I feel really guilty about posting that about Collin and his affinity for dolls. I know that I should spend less time worrying about the doll thing, and more time parenting and teaching him how to express who he is as a person - whatever that means.

Sorry, just had to get that off my chest. Now on with my day!

good morning and happy thanksgiving. i am so thankful for my family. i am so thankful for you ladies. like angie, moving has been such a struggle, and you guys are always here for me. i love this group!

angie, great wo! have fun with the sillies.

katie, that is a dilema, and son't beat yourself up. no one wants to think of their child being teased at all - that is my worst nightmare - that and bullying. maybe talk to a family counselor? not to change collin, but to support him the best way?

i had a fab wo this am - interval run and insanity mic! i will feel it later. family time this morning, then offto my sisters. hoping to have another clean and tidy day!!

Happy thanksgiving day and good eats to you all.

Angie thank you too and I use the calendar in WM but didn't know it was hooked up with FB.

Katie don't worry it's just a phase. My DS played with Bratts dolls with my girlscouts until he made male friends and then he started playing with other toys like wrestlers. It was hobbbie. Now he is into yugigo(sp?) cards.

Nina great workout.

I'm so thankful for you ladies and the fact that this forum is encouraging.

I think I hurt my right shoulder at work. It was hurting so bad that I couldn't close my bedroom door with my right arm. 600mg of Motrin did the trick but maybe I shouldn't do upper body today. I'll do some lower bod stuff and core.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I am so very thankful for all of you-your constant support, encouragement, motivation, advice, and humor have helped me no end. Thanks for being there!

Took yesterday as my day off. So today will be legs and abs instead. Then it's off to my grandma's at 1 for the feast:)

Angie, great job! Are you going to celebrate Thanksgiving this year? I can imagine how tough it must be.

Katie, my brother used to play Barbies with me:) And from what I saw Collin doing to his Barbies, I woudn't be too worried;) I agree with Nina, talk to a counselor or his preschool teacher-I'm sure they've dealt with this many times.

Nina, great workout! Have a great day and don't stress about eats too much.

Robin, enjoy your drama free day. Take it easy with your shoulder!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I, too, am very grateful for the friendships I've developed here. You guys are an amazing support system for me.

Klaudia, does your grandma do all the cooking? What does a Yugo Thanksgiving look like?

Robin, good call on skipping upper body today. Do you have to work super early tomorrow?

Nina, great work out, as always. Have fun at your sister's.

Katie, don't feel guilty! You're working hard to be a good parent and that's a good thing. :D How many people are you hosting today?

I'm heading to my brother's house around noon, so I'm going play Bejeweled on FB. My new time sink. It's awesome.

Have a great day, everybody.

anne

Anne super duper early. I have to be at work by 6:00 am but the good news is that they are going to feed us breakfast and lunch.

Klaudia what legs workout did you do?

Plyo Legs and HSC abs done! Now I can actually enjoy myself!

Anne, my mom and aunt used to stay overnight at my grandma's and do all the cooking. We basically have a traditional meal with a few Yugo extras-the baked beans I've mentioned before, roasted peppers with garlic and olive oil and homemade cookies. Sometimes we'd have ham too(?) cause my grandparents knew Darrin loves ham:) The past two years though we've had it catered-last year we got the whole meal from Whole Foods and this year from a local restaurant. With everyone's health not being the greatest and me super busy with the girls' dance recital (not really an excuse) we've decide the most important thing is just being together:)

There's lots of time sinks on FB-mine is looking at friends of friends' pictures:)

Have a wonderful time at your brother's!

Hi Everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving! I am visiting family the next couple of days so I will catch up with everyone over the weekend. I am so thankful I have all of you for support, hugs and motivation. Enjoy your turkey splurge!

happy thanksgiving to you all!!!!!

we are just back from my cousins place. i did relatively well with the meal. filled 3/4 of the plate with veggies (not the ones with cheese on them, just the roasted ones), then added some turkey and a little mash on that last 1/4. i used cranberry instead of gravy -- i know its a lot of sugar but DEF less fat and it was homemade using 1/2 sugar and 1/2 juice.... sigh... i am totally making excuses. that is what i wanted to wat and so ate it. happen to like my veggies! i also had a small amt of dessert with my coffee.

ok, so now that i have confessed, i also get to tell you i did a double workout today!!! angie, its you and me =) if i can walk tomorrow. did back to back classes at the gym -- step and them power. i have doms in my shoulders and chest and also my calves are a little achy. hopefullu i will wake up feeling good tomorrow. i am definitely proud of myself for powering thru and i kept telling myself i had toearn that meal today...

I am so verythankful to have you ladies to check in with. you keep me on task! thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!

gtg put JJ to bed and i will be back in the am for personals!

hope everyone is well and enjoying family time. i survived the family - not too bad:cool: also survived the dinner - small amt turkey, loads of veg. 1.5 choc chip oat cookies for dessert:eek: so glad i left the rest there!!

talk to you all on the flip side - gnight
