My husband and I were deciding on some activities we'd like to do with our five year old these next few months. One of them was short hikes. We also go camping a few weekends a summer. So, I was looking around for supplies we each would need. I came across Buzz Clothing. It protects you from mosquitoes and other insects. Sounds great, but then I read it could be a carcinogen ~ especially for children.
The chemical used is Permethrin, which is known to cause learning disorders, birth defects and cancer.
This chemical comes off when it gets wet, so if you go through a stream, animals could be harmed as well.
I've read enough to know I won't purchase it, but also wanted to pass this information around.
