Someone listed this as suggested reading for a child in another thread and I thought it sounded good, so I ordered the 1st 3 books from Amazon. Only...I accidentally ordered the audio books instead. Since it was only $15 and the reader is Victor Garber, I decided to keep them and started listening this morning.

OMG! It is SO funny! Victor Garber is excellent (of course), but the story is great so far. I highly recommend this for your kids - adults too. There's some subtleties that will be lost on kids, but picked up by an adult who is listening closely and has their brain on.

My boys have heard these on audio as well and they are funny - the first couple times, but my 7 yo played them over and over and .... you get the picture. My husband and I finally banned him from listening to them around us. LOL

Mouse and the Motorcycle series on audio are also good ones. Though same rule applied as above for us ;-)

My first audiobook was Tom Sawyer, read by Paul Newman. It was a life-saver for me because my DD was an infant howling in the back seat of my car. As soon as Paul would start reading, she'd just calm right down. The bonus was that it's a great story!

I go through that over-and-over thing with DD and Hannah Montana. Ugh! If I hear that girl's nasal twang again, I may just drive thru a plate glass window.
