BuffyR...you might want to look at #19 on the thread I posted, "The Serial Bully." It seems to address just what you experienced in "The Problem With America" thread.
I have had the same experience in my family in instances of harsh criticism and personal attack. When I finally broke down in tears, it was always a venomous "You're just too sensitive," dismissing the validity of my feelings completely.
There are a lot of wonderful posters on that thread, most well-meaning and wickedly funny. I HOPE you won't let a couple of cruel and petty responses run you away.
PS...You might see the "Leaving" thread on page 2 or 3...it seems to be something that many posters experience.
