Buff Badgers

Susan - How was the beach?

Karen - I don't exactly feel energized but I did manage to drag my butt out of bed and get at a short workout in this morning. Something is better than nothing, right? ;) Have fun spinning with CC.

You guys won't believe it but DS' team won another game last night! That's their 4th victory this season! :) Woo hoo! DS did a great job as catcher. Another game tonight.

Did NYC Latte mix 38 min. this morning.

Have a great day.

Sue

Thanks for the warm welcome! Wow 40 miles on the bike! Well, if you´ve seen my post on the OF you´ll see that there´ll be not much working out for me for the next few weeks...my day yesterday was spent in surgery for what I thought would be a simple limpoma but turned out to be an epigastric hernia :( Today I can walk but really not much else. The hard part will be to do w/o weights for 6 weeks. So I´ll be on the forum alot more! That will be nice! Hope you all have a great day. Looks like a beautiful one here in WI!
Karen, I roller blade, haven´t tried the roller skis, but they look intriguing!
Susan, it´s great to find lost things, isn´t it!!!
Sue, yea for your DD and what is the NYC latte mix?? Some kind of coffee!!!???

Sue, yea for DS team again. I am so happy for them. What a way to end the season.

lala, I didn't realize you were having surgery. I hope you recover quickly and are able to get back to your workouts quickly. It will be nice having you around more though. Where in Wi. do you live? I'll have to read your OD post.

I decided to do RS today instead of spinning because the shoes I wear on the spin bike are a tad big-loaners so they make my knees hurt when I use them.

Take care

I live in Marshfield which is pretty much right in the middle of WI. and right now my CP editor won´t let me choose my state or province!!!

Lala - LOL! NYC is a Kelly Coffey-Meyer workout and all her premixes are a play on the "Coffey" part of her name. She also had an espresso mix, capaccino mix and 1 other - probably frapacino or something like that . . . If I would have had one of those yummy coffee drinks I would have had more energy this morning! ;)

So what did you do to yourself to cause an epigastric hernia and is it painful? I'll have to hop over to the OD forum at lunchtime and take a peek at your posting. Hope you have a speedy and full recovery

Sue

Hello!

Hi Ladies!

Yes, the beach was fun yesterday. The kids met new friends and built cool sand castles.
Today I was busy all morning and then mow lawn and yard work this afternoon.

Sue, congrats to your son on their 4th win!! :) How great is that?!

Lala, sorry to hear you had to have surgery. I hope you recovery/heal quickly. It's hard to be laid up isn't it? Take care of yourself.

Karen, were your legs sore at all after all that biking plus the lower body stuff you did yesterday? I wouldn't be able to walk !

Have a good night- Susan

Happy Friday!

Hi there! :)

Today is Cardio Kicks for me. I do not remember the last time I did this workout! I was supposed to do it yesterday as part of Cathe's July Rotation but did not have time.

Tomorrow my DS has a soccer tournament all day. I hope to get on the elliptical when we get home. Sunday is a quiet day (so far) and I will be doing Bootcamp.

Yesterday, when I took Ruby for a walk, she was attacked by 2 dogs! They both came running at her and bit her and cut her ear. Poor baby! :( Anyway, I wasn't going to call the police until my friend who lives behind these dogs, said they go after people and their dogs all the time. So I did file a complaint and the officer said he would make sure they were dealt with. Ruby was a bit skittish on her walk this morning. She really did not want to go but we went a different way and she seemed to relax a bit.

Hope you all have a good day! Looks like rain is heading my way!

Susan

Hi girls,

Today I am doing KettleBell Way. Tomorrow will be a 60 mile tandem ride with DH and Sun. will probably be an off day.

Susan, glad you enjoyed the beach. It looks like rain here too. Sorry Ruby was hurt. I am glad you called in on the other dogs. They should be delt with so it doesn't happen anymore. Have fun at soccer tomorrow and I hope you get your weekly bootcamp in.

Sue, did they win? How has Dojo been lately? Dild DS decide to play ball again next season or take time off. How is DD team doing?

lala, how many children do you have? Do you have to wait any amount of time before you can do your rollerblading?

Anyone know if Laurie is still on vacation?

Have a nice day and a great weekend.

Susan - You did the right thing reporting those dogs to the police. Poor Ruby! Hope she gets over the trauma soon and starts enjoying her walks again without feeling like she's going to be attacked. Have fun with CK! I want to try the drills at the end sometime with my kickbox bag. Just have to make sure I wear my punch guards from Dojo.

Karen - Speaking of Dojo, we haven't been there in almost 2 weeks! With Joe's crazy baseball schedule, we haven't been able to attend classes so we're skipping graduation (which is tomorrow) this testing cycle.

DS' team lost last night but that's okay. They've already won 4 times as many games as last year (4 wins this year vs. 1 win last year). I think they were just plain tired. They played 8 games over the past 10 days. Their last game of the season is next Wednesday. Hate to say it but I'm ready for baseball to be over. Can't remember the last time we sat down together as a family for dinner. Tryouts for next year are Aug. 9 and DH, DS and I have talked it over and decided that DS will try out for another team. DS' coach sealed his fate as far as I'm concerned with some heated email exchanges he had with DH. The guy is a real jerk and only cares about winning. He said if it wasn't a league rule, he'd sit out DS and other boys on the team who aren't very good fielders every inning. He yells and belittles the boys all the time. I could go on and on about him. . . but I won't. ;)

No workout yet today. I plan on doing cardio tonight. Don't know what yet. Also want to go on a bike ride again this weekend.

Sue

Thanks for all the well wishes. Just went in for my post op and basically walking for 2 weeks, then ellipital w/o using arms for 2 weeks, then w/arms, no skating, kickbox, weights for a full 6 weeks :(. But I really want this to heal well, so I WILL follow drs. advice, although my DH says it will kill me, as you can all imagine!

Susan, enjoy the soccer tournament, those are fun days!

Sue, FWIW, I think you and DH made a good decision regarding DS and baseball.

Karen, You are an amazaing cyclist, have fun with your ride! BTW I have 3 kids: DS, 22; DD, 29; DD,17. Oh, and how do you like the kettleball workouts?

Sue and Susan, do you guys do kettleball?

Enjoy your workouts!

Hey Ho!

Sue, you are right in trying to get DS onto another team next year. No kid deserves to be belittled like that. I hate it when I see coaches behaving that way! :( I would be tired too if I had to play 8 games in 10 days!Whew! Hope you get your bike ride in this weekend. I was thinking of trying to go for one on Sunday as well.

Lala, it seems your Dr. has a good plan set for you there. I know it'll be a long 6 weeks but just remind yourself it's for the best! You'll be stronger in no time! Oh, and no, I do not kettle ball (yet).

Ruby has been so sad the past 2 days. I hope she feels better soon. She lays there and looks at us with those big sad eyes. She has been attacked by 4 dogs in her life (4 years) and it always tends to make her a bit more timid. You wouldn't know it when you see her 85 pounds trotting down the street however! :)

I hope it does rain here today, cuz it is HUMID!

Hi guys, do you know how to put a workout in your calander? If I wanted to put in my kettlebell workout, a list of just exercises come up and it would take forever to click on each one and put it in.

I do enjoy the kettlebell workouts. I think i need a 20 lb. one though. The 15 was easier than last time.

susan, hope Ruby gets happy again.
sue, glad DS is trying out for another team. It's to bad some coaches just don't get it.
lala, glad you are listening to your Dr. Sounds like you have a nice family. do they all live at home with you?

Enjoy your weekend.

Well, I click on "calendar" then click on "add new event".

Hope that works for you. I tried to use "Workout Manager" 4 times today and it wouldn't let me! :(

good morning! Iguess today I´ll do some walking!

Susan, I noticed that you have the Windor pilates. How do you like them? I hope Ruby feels better. What kind of dog is she?

Hope you all have a great weekend, it looks like a beauty here in WI!

Hi!

Hi there!

Lala, I love Winsor Pilates. I use them 2-4 times a week inconjunction with other workouts. They really help flatten and strengthen my core. I also notice it helps keep my lower body leaner. Ruby is a yellow labrador. She's just an over-sized baby!

Last night we were our late with out cookout. ;) Then I had to be up at 5am to get ready for our soccer tournament. The rest of the family had to be up at 6am and we left the house at 7. The first game was at 8am and were had games all day until 5pm. Needless to say we were all pooped! So, I did not jump on my elliptical as intended! Tomorrow though I am taking Ruby for a long walk and then doing Bootcamp!

Today was a beautiful day!

Susan
