Buff Badgers Week of Sept. 5th

I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. The weather was beautiful on Saturday and Sunday and the rain started on yesterday and will continue through most of the week with low temps. I didn't get any exercise this weekend. I did a lot of walking on Sunday as my family went into DC for some site seeing. I used the long weekend to work on a research paper that I have due the end of the quarter also. As a working mom trying to take a class, I know that I better take advantage of every moment.

This morning was STS disc 1.......it is just what I felt like doing. I haven't decided if I am going to officially do a rotation or not:D I can say that this is my 3rd time doing disc 1 and it didn't seem to move nearly as fast as I thought the first two rounds. Maybe doing the fast pace High Reps and STS Total body helped with that.

Heartymax - We visited DC 3 or 4 years ago and had a great time at all the museums and memorials. Did tons of walking when we were out there so I'm guessing you did, too, so that counts as a workout in my book. ;) You guys sure don't need any more rain out there! I hope it doesn't cause a lot of flooding (or minimal at least).

What a wonderful relaxing weekend! On Saturday the kids and I went to see Rise of the Planet of the Apes. I had to talk them into it but since there wasn't another movie that we all agreed on, they caved and agreed to see it. We all liked it. I cried! (I'm such a softie.)

Yesterday I went through my entire collection of workout dvds and VHS. I started entering everything into a spreadsheet and finished most but not all - still have most of my Cathes to go. It seems like I have a lot but I'm sure many people have more. I'm up to 211 workouts on 149 dvds/VHS and I haven't counted STS yet! I had everything spread out on the floor of our rec room and DS asked how much it was worth. "A lot" is what I told him. :D

So anyway, I have some I want to get rid of (to make room for more!) The Tracey Staehles I want to get rid of are Walking Stronger and Cardio Sweatfest. I also have all 4 TLTs (Tracy Long Training): Better Burn Better Buns, Endurance for Movement, Strength in Movement and Finding Your Core. If anyone is interested, let me know. I'll have you send a SASE and mail it to you.

So as I'm weeding out my collection I'm also adding. Picked up Jillian's 6 Week Six-Pack and Killer Buns & Thighs at Target yesterday but haven't tried them yet.

Here's how my workouts went this weekend:
Friday - Bob Harper Inside Out Method Yoga for the Warrior 60 min.
Saturday - BFBM Intervals 1-4
Sunday - 2 mile walk outside with DH
Monday - Peak 10 Cardio Strength - OH MY! First time doing this one Thanks, Karen for recommending this one. Loved the format and what a tough, tough workout. Burned tons of calories with this one. My lower back was feeling a little sore last night so I did 10 min. Solutions Pilates abs from Netflix and it helped a lot.
Tuesday - Nothing yet today. Hope I have time after DS' football game to do a leg workout. The "B" team has a game today and since they don't have enough players in certain positions for a B team, DS is going to play. This means he'll have 2 games this week since they still have their regular game on Thursday.

Have a great week everyone!

Good Afternoon,

No workouts for me over the weekend. Went for a 6.5 mile run today and did Total Body Pilates with mini ball, I loved this workout.

Sue, glad you liked the Peak 10 cardio/strength. Do you have all of them? They are all great. I plan on doing a rotation soon with just them. Sounds like you had a fun weekend. Nice you get to watch your DS twice in one week. I am afraid to count how many dvds I have. Good for you doing 60 min. of yoga.:p

Heartymax glad you had a fun weekend. Lots of walking counts as exercise. Hope the rain decides not to visit you the whole week. I love STS, just don't care to pull out all the equipment anymore. I'll have to get back on the right track and pull some equipment out again.

I have 2 soccer games tonight a JV and a Varsity. Also a practice stuck in there somewhere, of course they all can't be in one place.

Have a great day.

What a gorgeous day! It's funny how much these lower temps were bugging me in June, but in September they're more than welcome.

Heartymax- I hope you don't get too much rain. I'm glad you got some time to get some work done on your research paper.

Sue- Wow! That's a lot of workouts! And a lot of work to get through them. I counted mine yesterday and realized I have fewer than I thought... less than half of what you have ;) I reeeaaallly want to try one of those Peak workouts. I'm glad you liked it.

My workouts this weekend were:

Friday: KCM Stepboxing (no weights), Jari's Get Ripped, and Cool It Off! (later, before bed)
Saturday: Intervals 1-4 of Low Max. I went down there fully intending to do the whole thing, but it kicked my hinder! I've discovered I need to have some sort of carb (at least fruit) at breakfast or my workouts suffer big-time.
Sunday: Cardio and Weights
Monday: Firm BSS 2 Calorie Killer.

I'm loving skipping the abs on everything to do planks... though I still hate planks :D No workout today. I'm exhausted from getting up way too early this morning. A noise woke me and DH at about 4:00 and I couldn't get back to sleep after that.

I had a really nice weekend. We went to my parents' for ribs yesterday. Super yummy. Ribs are not something I get to eat very often.

I hit a rather large milestone on the scale over the weekend. I won't share the number, but I will say that it's lower than it's ever been in my adult life. In fact, I'm pretty sure I weigh less now than I did in the seventh grade  I still have at least fifteen more pounds to go, but I feel great. I bought a new pair of jeans at Old Navy. (May I suggest shopping at Old Navy for jeans? They run big. I got a size smaller than I am anywhere else )

I hope everyone else had a great weekend, too. DS is napping, and I think I'm going to follow suit...

ETA: Hi Karen! I think we were posting at the same time.

Morning Ladies,

I took the day off from work yesterday and did absolutely nothing all day. Well I did watch TV and sleep. My legs where so sore. I think on Saturday they had to stop people from coming into the faire, because they had reached capacity before noon. I felt like I was the Happy Hostess all day just greeting and talking to people. I talked to a group of the same people for a half hour. ;) Sunday it was so cold that I had to wear gloves all day long. I did No More Trouble Zones on Saturday, nothing on Sunday thru Tuesday! Today 30 Day Shred Level 1 and Yoga Meltdown Level 1.

heartymax, WTG on the improvements with STS from the last round.

Sue, So glad that I'm not interested in those workouts. :D I have enough, but still getting more. I should do that with all my workouts too. I should be getting Killer Buns and Thighs this week, I'm ready to try it out.

Karen, I'm still looking at getting those Peak 10 workouts. They incorporate kickboxing into them, which is something that I love. Where your disks scratched?

Sam, Congrats on the milestone. I like the jeans from New York & Co. ;) I have tried Old Navy in the past, and they didn't have tall. Now I think that they do carry them in the store, so may have to try them again. Love shopping there for tops, the best Old Navy store is at Southridge imo.;)

Have a great day!

Laurie - Thanks for the tip on the Southridge store. I really like the outlet in Johnson Creek, but it's hard to get out there. The Brookfield Square one always seems to be sparsely stocked. I used to work at New York & Co.; when we got new clothes in, we'd get 55% off (and 30% off the rest of the time)! I spent most of my paychecks right there in the store

I haven't worked out yet today, and it's going to have to wait till after dinner because I need a nap! I need to start getting to sleep earlier, but it's so hard! I love hanging out with DH in the evening. We've always got something we're hooked on on Netflix. Currently, we're powering through Battlestar Galactica. (Yes, we are huge nerds :p)

I'll probably do Jari's Sim & Lean.

I'm trying to decide what dvd to buy next month. I've got my eyes on Rhythmic Step. I know it's on sale here right now, but I can get it from Mary a lot faster for about the same price if I use the 10off code. I was thinking of getting a weight workout, but since the new series has Total Body Trisets in it, I'm thinking step.

Have a great day, everyone.

ETA: Ugh. Heard from DH that he has no idea when he's going to get home. No workout for me today. Shoot.

Just finished STS chest and back. School closed today because of the flooded roads, etc. Torrential rain in forecast the rest of the week.

Sam---Rhythmic Step is one of my favorites. It has great music and it is just one fun workout. I never do the combo at the end as I am always too tired, but other than that...I love this workout.

Sue-----funny how you are weeding out and purchasing at the same time...LOL!!!

Laurie---glad you were able to get some rest....sounds like you definitely needed it.

Hi Karen, lala and Susan.

HI there! What a crazy week, sorry I have not been able to post! The weekend was nice, and for the most part relaxing.

My workouts have been the following:
Sat: Core Synergistics
Sun: walk 50mn, pilates 40mn
Mon: hike for 60mn, cleaning
Tues: 4.5 mile run
Wed: Pilates Max.
Thur: 5 mile run

Heartymax, I am sorry to hear you are getting so much rain! Enjoy the day home, but I hope you stay dry!

Sam, Rhythmic Step is my all-time favorite Cathe step workout. Just love it!:D

Hi Laurie, I watched a long preview of Jillian's new Killer Buns and I MUST get it!:) I also saw S90 at Target for $14 and am thinking of running back to get it. Are all the workouts about 30mn or so? Do you sometimes double them up? You ladies talk about it so much... I assume it's worth it?

Karen, who is the trainer on that pilates workout again? Did it come with the mini-ball?

Looking forward to watching the Packers tonight! Have a great day ladies!

Susan

Morning Ladies,

Decided to change things up a bit, I tried out the new workout from Chris Freytag that are on Exercisetv. I tried the 10lb Slimdown Extreme Blast workout. This is a total body workout that is 39 min. in length. I would consider it an Intermediate workout, but dang it was really very good. Right now my upper arms are sore. Oh and I'm feeling the legs also. :D She does four circuits, each circuit consists of 3 weighted exercises and one cardio blast. You then repeat all of these exercises to make one circuit. I'm thinking of trying out all the workouts that they have available which are Upper Body, Lower Body, Yoga, Core and a 10 min. Back workout. On the DVD they have a kickboxing workout also, but that isn't available OnDemand yet. :( If I like all the workouts I'm planning on getting this set, just seems like a set to have when I want something different.

Sam, I have never been to the Johnson Creek outlet mall yet. My DH and I are nerds also, we do things like that with Star Wars. :D I think that if you like step, you will probably love Rythmic step. ;)

heartymax, Sorry to hear about the rain and flooding. At least you are able to get in your workouts. ;)

Susan, The first month of S90 workouts are all under 40 min. The weight workouts in the 2nd month are around 50 min. The chest & back workout is a little fast paced, but it is very good. I love all the workouts in that set, and I'm planning on doing a combo of those workouts along with the PS series starting in Oct. It is well worth the $ to have those workouts. Hope my Jillian workout gets here soon, got an e-mail that it shipped. :D Oh and yes I have doubled up on the workouts. The core workouts are really easy to add onto these.

Have a wonderful day!

Karen - I only have 1 of the Peak 10s. How many are there? I only find 2 with my internet searching. Is her other one just as hard? I watched her promo video on her website and it sounds like an Insanity or P90X infomercial. (ie. people getting into amazing shape, pushing themselves to the limit, etc.)

Sam - Congratulations on hitting your milestone! LowMax kicks my butt every time - especially the blast where she says "Some blasts are easier than others" Huh? I think she meant to say harder. Rhythmic Step is a fun step workout with really good music. The warmup song is stuck in my head right now and I usually don't remember music from a workout!

Laurie -Sounds like a wonderful ending to Faire season. I'll have to checkout Chris Freytag's new Exercise TV workouts. I like Chris and it's interesting because I just checked my inventory list and I only have 1 of her workouts although it seems like her workout with her a lot.

Heartymax - Enjoy your unexpected day off. Hope your basement stays dry!

Susan - $14 is a steal for Supreme 90! Run! Now! Go get it. :) Don't let the shorter lengths fool you. These workouts don't waste any time. You can always add on another workout if you have extra time.

Hi Lala!

DS' game on Tuesday night was cancelled but still didn't get to workout. I remembered I had to lengthen DD's sleeves in her marching band uniform. Yesterday I was just too tired to do anything. This morning I did Lower Body Blast standing only premix 49 min. I will be sore tomorrow I'm sure. Tonight DS has a football game and then I have to make cookies for the Varsity tailgate tomorrow. All of the players (Freshman, JV and Varsity) have to donate desserts and sell tickets. DD performs with the marching band in their first halftime show on Friday. She said last night's final run-through was terrible so hoping they pull it together today and tomorrow.

Good afternoon, everybody! And... congratulations for successfully enabling me to buy Rhythmic Step next Friday when our new budgetary month begins :D I just can't resist a good step workout, even though there are about a thousand other videos I'm also interested in.

Heartymax- Boy, are you getting slammed with rain out there! Stay safe.

Laurie- Always nice to find another nerd :D Thanks for the rundown on the new Chris Freytag workouts. I really like the one of hers that I have (Personal Trainer or something like that?). She has a very pleasant instructional style; I'll have to check these out.

Susan- What a great deal for S90. I'd definitely go for it!

Sue- Sounds like a busy few days with the kids. What kind of cookies are you baking? Just thinking about them can't make me gain any weight, right? ;)

Since DH got stuck at work last night, I didn't get a work out in. I'm having some trouble adjusting to my new work schedule -- I'm so sleepy all the time -- but I'm thinking it should only take few weeks to adapt.

I'm feeling a bit more energetic today, so when DS goes down for his nap I plan to do the two cardio portions from 10 Minute Solutions Knockout Body and Jari's Slim & Lean.

Church choir was cancelled (even though we sing on Sunday!) because of the Packer game. Gotta love it :D

Go Pack Go!

Morning Ladies,

This morning I was in the mood for some kickboxing, so I popped in 10 Min. Solutions Knockout Body. ;) Guess I was inspired from Sam! :D

Sue, They have a pdf rotation on exercise tv that you can follow. I checked last night, and they still didn't have the kickboxing workout up. From what I see there are 13 workouts all together, it includes the 10lb Slimdown workouts. I'm going to try out some of these workouts OnDemand also, might just try out this rotation. I like Chris also, so these are probably going to be a purchase for me. Can't believe that I might be subbing Jillian for Chris.

Sam, I'm not surprised at the choir cancellation. :D I know our choir director would cancel also, he is a huge Packer fan. I'm sure that you will have a great time learning RS!

Have a great weekend everyone, I'm sleeping late tomorrow! :D

I'm checking in very quickly while my kiddos take a test :)

I ended up NOT doing Knockout Body last night (sorry, Laurie :D), and just did Slim & Lean. I think that's my favorite Jari; I always feel fantastic afterward.

I'm feeling very energetic today, maybe because of the Packers' win (?). I'm thinking of tackling either the bootcamp / kickbox premix on 4DS or even Imax2. Watch, by the time I get home, I'll be pulling out Leslie ;)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi guys,

9 1/2 mile run today 70 min. Best so far for me this year. Yesterday I did Asylum weight workout and stretch.

Don't have much time cause I have to get to work but the ball does come with the pilates workout. The instructor is Lisa Hubbard. The Peak 10 workouts are sold in her Peak 10 system, I believe there are 7 other workouts besides the 2 you can get on marys site etc. You guys are all kicking your workouts. Take care and talk next week. Soccer all night and weekend.

Hi there! I was so tired this morning! I did not get up in time to workout.:( I am either going to do Bootcamp when I get home or mow the lawn/yard work to get it out of the way for the weekend...See what mood I am in!

So, tomorrow I am going back to Target and grabbing S90! I also found it in a catalog for that price as well so if it's gone, I will order it. :D

No big plans for the weekend, but I am sure it'll go by fast!:p

I'll try to check back later!

Oh! Karen! Way to go on the 9miles!! Awesome job!! I am planning 6 miles Saturday, but I am telling myself I am to go as far as I possibly can... We'll see what I do!

Bye Ladies! Susan
