Buff Badgers Week of Oct. 1st

Today's workout was STS disc 1 for chest, shoulders and biceps. I realized that I have been only working out about 3 days a week the last few weeks and that means I have cut down on my strength training and leg workouts and I can't do that. Those are the things that really make a difference in how my body looks (along with eating better of course). After tonight I have 2 more classes and I plan to really focus on staying on track and getting back to my 5 days a week. My shoulders were stronger than i expected today, but my chest was what I expected----all those darn push ups. I did what I could and skipped when I needed too.

I am hoping for a better week with exercise.

Morning Ladies,

Well I'm trying something different for this sinus issue. I took some sudafed right when I woke up, then took the dog out for her walk. The headache/sinus issues where much improved, and I was able to get in my workout. I did Chris Freytag's 10lb Slimdown Xtreme Total Body, and Bonus Buns.

My oldest dd is offically in the Entrepreneurship program at college. She also has started with Mary Kay, and I hosted her first party. She is still beginning, but did a great job. It has been years since I have used Mary Kay, and I was surprised at the changes they have made. I of course am now a customer of my dd's. ;)

heartymax, I also am hoping for a better week of exercise. This last week was horrible, and I hope that these sinuses get under control soon. Keep up with the weight work! ;)

Have a great day!

Good Afternoon!

This morning was the start of week 4 of Meso 2 of STS. I didn't get much sleep last night as I was up working on our year end inventory at work until 10:45 and then I couldn't fall asleep and then once I finally started dozing off the accountant from our Mexico facility called me at 11:50pm. On Saturday I had a 20 hour day at work due to inventory and Sunday I had to go back in for 6 hours and did work at home until way past my bed time. Due to the lack of sleep, my strength was lacking as well but I pushed through it.

Heartymax - Hope things start calming down for you so you can get back to your 5 day/week workouts.

Laurie - Congrats to your dd!! How neat with her starting with Mary Kay. Those darn sinuses... hope it gets better soon. At least you got your workout in.

I hope to get some decent sleep tonight... I'm exhausted. :(

Make it a great day!!
Brenda

Happy October, everyone!

Saturday I did not workout. Sunday I did CTX All Step and Shoulders, as well as about 3/4 of the Biceps segment. I was running low on time.

Today I did TTM all the way through for the first time. Whew! I think I actually found this more challenging than CrossFire. Wow. I kept my step at 6 inches the whole time and had to take... uh... extended breaks between segments. :) Loved the Tabata section, though. No one is as surprised as I am that I like Tabata :p

Laurie- I love Mary Kay eyeshadows, liners, and mascara. I started buying because one of my student's mom sold it. Now I have way too much  I like your plan of attack for the sinuses.

Heartymax- I'm hoping for a good week too. I really need to get out of my rut and into a groove.

Brenda- Oh, you must be beat! I hope you get a great night of sleep tonight.

I started a 31 Days of Workouts challenge with some Facebook friends, which means we're going to try to work out every day in October. Even I'm not feeling good, or I'm really tired, I'll just do a few minutes of yoga or something, but the idea is to work out even if I can't do the video I planned to do. I'm hoping to conquer my all-or-nothing attitude that keeps me from working out consistently.

Have a great day!

Hi there! Busy weekend. My cold really bothered me so no tough workouts, just walking for 45mn each day and pilates. Today I got up and did P90X Core SYn.

Sat down and wrote up another rotation yesterday.I really want to increase my running speed...

Laurie, I remember when my mom sold Mary Kay. Now we have a woman at work who sells it and yes, they have come a long way. I myself am an Avon gorl.;) Good luck to DD! Hope your new plan of attack helps!

Brenda, Get some sleep lady! Honestly, if I were you, I would not have worked out this morning so way to go !

Sam, I like the 31 days thing you are doing. Every little bit helps and even if it's just a little walk with the dog, you'll feel better when your done. Remember, you're still lapping everyone sitting on the couch!:) I like TTM a lot, but yes, the higher step is a doozy!

Take care ladies! See you tomorrow! Susan

Susan---Kudos to you for getting in your workouts even while not feeling your best.

Laurie---Congrats to your DD. I think Mary Kay products are something many women have worn and loved in their lifetime whether they are still using it or not. Make up parties are fun. My probem is that I never can apply it as nice as they can.

Sam---TTM is tough. I first thought it was not as tough as CF but after doing them both a few times---I am not sure.

Brenda---WOW! what long hours. You are dedicated to be up working out this morning. I think I would be taking a nap:D. Then again, our workouts are such great stress relievers and with those hours you must be a little stressed! Hope things settle down for you.

Today was Rhythmic Step for a fun workout.

Morning Ladies,

This morning was 10lb Slimdown Xtreme Kickboxing. So far so good with the pre-sudafed. My nose runs like crazy during the workout (even more than normal), but I can deal with that. ;)

Brenda, Wow you are almost done with Meso 2, that sure didn't take long. ;) Dang on the problems at work. Hope you where able to sleep way better last night.

Sam, Tabata is fun, since you can go at whatever pace is good for you. WTG on the FB challenge, it always helps when there is a support system for you.

Susan, Core Syn your favorite. :D Hope that cold of yours gets better and better every day.

heartymax, I am also one that is never able to apply makeup well. I actually looked great at the end, and that really surprised me. :D Usually I feel like I did to much.

Have a wonderful day!

Good morning! Today was running for 45mn. I did a little cyle where I walked for 45 sec, then jogged a bit, then ran faster, then sprinted as far as I could. It was fun!:)

Hearty, Rythmic Step is my all time fav!:D

Laurie, today my cold feels really good! I could tell yesterday that pilates is really helping cause some of those Core Syn. moves were much easier!;)

Have a great day ladies! Susan

Okay! Quick check-in. It's been a hectic morning...

I did yoga/Pilates fusion workout from the Crunch Pilates collection I got at Target last week. It was surprisingly challenging; I worked up quite a sweat :)

DS and I are off to the Zoo today. It's just too beautiful to stay indoors.

Have a great day, everyone!

Good Afternoon!!

This morning I did Cardio Super Sets with the Bonus Step portion. I must have worn out that DVD. When I get to the bonus step portion of it, after the first round, it gets stuck, so then I get out LIC and play the bonus step on there. I bought some stuff that was supposed to take care of scratches on DVD's but either I didn't do a very good job applying it or it doesn't work that well. Anyone have a good suggestion for fixing scratched or worn DVD's?

I got a little bit more sleep last night. Not as much as I'd hope but any little extra helped. :)

Sam - get job on the workout!! Love the 31 day workout challenge. I agree the thing is to at least do something. You can do it!! I hope you and DS had a blast at the zoo. You have to enjoy the nice days while you can.

Susan - Glad to hear the cold is getting better. At least you were still able to do a little something. I have to feel really really bad before I miss a workout, not saying that is necessarily the best thing for me to do. ;)

Laurie - Glad the pre-sudafed is working. I go through so many kleenex during my workouts. Have a box handy all the time. :)

Heartymax - After all these years I still have not attempted Rhythmic Step. I have it but haven't taken the time to learn it. Maybe some day I'll take the time.

Hi Sue!!

Have a great afternoon!!
Brenda

Morning Ladies,

This morning was 10lb Slimdown Xtreme Lower Body, and Bonus Abs.

Susan, Glad to hear the cold is better. I can't believe that the banana/boat move could get easier. :D He goes so fast on that one. ;)

Sam, Sounds like everyone is getting into the pilates. ;) I even did some pilates moves with the ab workout this morning.

Brenda, I'm feeling much better doing the meds before, this morning was a little iffy with the stomach. The runny nose is causing some of that I'm sure. I don't have a good suggestion on cleaning, guess that would be a google search thing.

Have a wonderful day!

Hello! I just did the Double Trouble premix of Afterburn, which is the first set of every exercise, then it goes back to the beginning and does the second set of every exercise. I really liked it. It was a bit faster paced because it cut out some of Cathe's talking between exercises. I had to take a little break in the middle :)

Laurie- Pilates is hard! I enjoy it much more than traditional ab training, though. I just can't do all those crunches lately; it just feels like torture.

Brenda- Hmmm... I think I've seen something floating around the Internet about using a banana? I know I was going to look it up myself to attempt to repair one of DS's dvd's that got stuck under the rug and all scratched up.

Heartymax- I think I'm going to do Rhythmic Step on Friday. It's been awhile, and it never fails to put me in a great mood.

Susan- Sounds like a fun running workout you did. I remember (waaaaay back) doing things like that on the treadmill at the gym.

Had another really nice visit to the zoo yesterday. It's just heavenly there in the fall. I think we'll have to go back next week. :)

Accepting that I'm not a morning person and doing my workouts mid-morning seems to be helping a lot. I can do tougher stuff because my energy is up, but I still have a lot of day leftover after I'm done.

Have a great day everyone!

Good Afternoon!!

This morning was my last day of legs in Meso2. Yeah!! :D I have a feeling DOMS will be setting in.

Laurie - I'll google how to get rid of scratches on DVD's and see what it comes up with. I'm going to giving pilates a try after I'm done with STS. Curious on what it'll do with my lower body.

Sam - That Double Trouble premix sounds good. I'll have to try that sometime. Glad that you found a good time to get your workouts in. Keep it up on the workouts!!

Hi Susan, Heartymax, and Sue!!

Make it a great day!!
Brenda

Sam---I have never done Double Trouble premix. That sounds like fun. I think I may have to try it one day.

Brenda--congrats on wrapping up Meso 2. I guess you are gearing up for Plyo Legs now. I must admit---I love some Plyo legs. After all the heavy squatting, it is a fun change. Then again---do you have squat rack or Plyo or do you have both. I only have Plyo so that is what I do.

Laurie---glad you are feeling better.

Things are just so busy for me right now. A couple of months ago, someone asked me to do a presentation for teens and I agreed to do that so I am trying to pull that together for Saturday on top of everything else I have going on. At least I just finished my elliptical workout. I needed to relieve some stress.

Have a great day everyone!

Hello! Sorry I failed to post yesterday, I did Cardio Supersets. Today I overslept due to poor sleep and will be getting on the elliptical after work!

Sam, glad you are liking pilates. It is hard but after you do it for a while, everything just feel better. You feel tighter in the entire mid section and (I think) you walk a bit taller...

Laurie, I liked the superman/banana but "bow to boat" is my favorite now!:D

Gotta run but will try to check back later! Susan

Morning Ladies,

This morning was 10lb Slimdown Xtreme Yoga/Stretch. Was tempted to stay in bed this morning, because of course it stated out with a headache. Got myself up, because I new that it was a yoga day. :D Glad that I did.

Homecoming is this week, and my youngest went to school in footy pj's! :D Crazy kids.

Sam, The weather has been wonderful this week. I know that it is suppose to get bad after today, so I'm glad that you and your ds had a great time at the zoo. Sounds like a great workout.

Brenda, Got to love those leg workouts! Hope you are able to get the DVD working better.

heartymax, Busy lady! Hope things start to get better, it never seems that we have enough time in the day. ;)

Susan, Of course I always forget about the bow to boat! He does that one fast also. ;)

Have a wonderful day!

Good afternoon!
I did another Crunch Pilates workout this afternoon. It felt really good. I know I'm only doing beginner-style, fusion Pilates, but it's definitely a challenge for my weak core.

Laurie, I can't recommend the Zoo during the fall enough. It's awesome! Glad you were able to do a workout even though you didn't feel well this morning.

Susan, I swear I feel a teensy bit taller after a little bit of Pilates. I definitely feel limber :)

Heartymax and Brenda, Definitely give Double Trouble a try next time! I loved it.

These fusion workouts have felt so good that I ordered a couple more from Mary. One is the Ellen Barrett Yogini workout And the other is a Core Fusion workout. I think alternating hard days with gentle days is working really well for me right now.

Have a great evening.

Good Evening Ladies!!

This morning I torchered myself with Cardio Core Circuit and followed that with 100 jacks. I have a love/hate relationship with CCC.

Heartymax - I do have the plyo and one with the squat rack but I've only done Plyo. I don't like going super heavy on my legs. I hope things calm down for you soon.

Susan - I hope you sleep better tonight. I feel like I still haven't recovered from the crazy weekend I had. I had a hard time getting out of bed this morning but I dragged myself out of bed and got my workout in.

Laurie - Don't you hate waking up with a headache. I pretty much deal with headaches every day, don't know much what it feels like not to have one. The last few days my headache has been worse due to TTOM.

Sam - Saturday I was thinking of CF or Afterburn. If I do Afterburn, I'll have to give Double trouble a try. :) I might have to check out those Crunch pilates dvd's. Still want to give that a try after I'm done with STS.

I'm so glad tomorrow is Friday! It's been a long week and work has been completely out of control!!

Hi Sue!!

Sleep tight!
Brenda

Morning Ladies,

This morning was 10lb Slimdown Xtreme Cardio Kickboxing. Love this workout, and with the temp change my sinuses have given me some relief also. Yesterday must have been because of the front coming through, I have been like this from previous fronts. I might even get in something after work tonight, don't have to go to dance class because of the Homecoming game.

Sam, Glad to hear that the pilates is something that is working for you. ;) Have to love that Mary is right in our back yard, and we get those workouts the next day. :D

Brenda, Yes you do like to torture yourself with CCC. I also have a love/hate relationship with that one. Sorry to hear that you wake up with headaches all the time, I can't stand it when it happens for a month. :(

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Happy Friday! I just finished Rhythmic Step. So much fun.

Laurie- I know! I'm actually not expecting them till Saturday, but I've been pleasantly surprised before. Love her!

Brenda- You'd probably find the Crunch Pilates too easy. I think you have a much stronger core than I do :)

I don't have any huge plans this weekend. DH and I would like to squeeze in a date at some point, and I'm seeing a friend I haven't seen in four years today for lunch.

Have a great weekend!
