Buff Badgers Week of Nov. 4

I have so much catching up to do since I haven't been on the forum much lately. I haven't disappeared and I promise to start back posting regularly. Those afternoon runs just threw my routine off and I just rarely posted in the evenings. As you know I was running about 3 days a week for the last month preparing for my first 5K.

The Run or Dye 5K was so much fun. I think it was a great first race since it is very low key. They don't even time the race so people just use their smart phone apps. I ran with two of my co-workers and it was all of our first race and we felt so accomplished. I finished in 31.12 which is a pretty good pace and faster than I normally run. The best time I had at home was between over 32 minutes and over 33 minutes. I kept saying to myself that the experience will probably be like the Cathe Road trip and I will do better than I thought. Well, that is exactly what happened....I truly had no idea the finish line was around the corner as I approached it. The race was over before I knew it. I could not hear the time on my app for some reason but I could hear my pace and it was always a little over 10 minutes so I knew that I was doing great. I didn't realize that I had been running for 30 minutes.. It was a great feeling. I hope to continue to run 2 days a week. Meanwhile it felt absolutely great to return to my Cathe workout this morning. Finally broke in Party Rockin and did workout 2. It was so much fun. I had to rewind it a couple of times but nothing to complex that I couldn't catch up after a 2nd try. Well---maybe those box steps....or whatever you call it in the 5th combo.

Have a great day!

Good Afternoon!

Saturday I did Tabatacise, all 5 levels, followed by core #1. Had a pretty good workout. Sunday was my no workout day. This morning I did Muscle Endurance. I wanted to do a pretty good weight workout because it will be a few weeks before I can do a total weight workout. We rearranged the office so I can workout in there until my corner of the basement is finished. I picked out DVD's that I know I can do in that smaller area and tonight I will bring up some weights to work with until I get my space back. Now I'm really looking forward to when it's done. Once I have it looking the way I want it to, I'll have to takes some pictures to share with you guys.

Hearty - Congrats on doing a great job on the race. I bet that felt nice to get back to Cathe's workouts.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Good morning ladies. Ah, the joys of having a child that goes to school... DH and I both have something going on in the backs of our throats AGAIN. So frustrating, but we're using our essential oils, working to fight it off.

Saturday I did PRS 2, Sunday was my off day. Today I stalled and stalled and stalled and finally did just the step workout from X10. I felt really low energy and modified because of it, but it still was really hard for me. I'm glad I did something, but I can't say I really enjoyed my workout today. I should have done something a little easier.

Brenda- It must be exciting to get your basement redone, but it's too bad it throws off your workouts a bit while it's happening. At least you got all of STS done.

Heartymax- That is a great time! Congratulations!

Have a great day, everyone!

Today's workout was High Reps. I have not done strength training in about 3 to 4 weeks so it felt really good to pump the biceps this morning. I had the hardest time picking out a workout since I haven't done one in so long so I decided to go with a total body workout.

Brenda--I almost did Muscle Endurance but after taking a few weeks off I figured it may be a little too "kick butt" for me. Congrats on your remodeling project.

Sam---I just got my flu shot yesterday and the rest of the family is scheduled for this week. Last year my oldest son got the flu and he was the only one who didn't get the shot so we are making sure everyone gets it this year. I sure hope it helps. These small colds and germs can really get you down. Just a few weeks ago 3 of 4 of us had a bug.

Tonight is DS last football game of the season and it is against their biggest rivalry. We are 9-0 and my son is hoping to seal the season with another big win tonight. He has played well this season (getting better each game) and I am so proud of him.

Good Afternoon!

This morning I did Hardstrikes and the cardio portion of Rockout Knockout. I had to be careful with the jacks to make sure my hands didn't hit the light fixture and ceiling fan. Good thing I'm short enough so I was okay. ;)

Sam -It is exciting about having the basement finished off. I keep telling myself how awesome it'll be once it's done so I don't get so frustrated because it's hindering my workouts. I am glad though that I was able to finish STS before they started. I don't have the warm fuzzies about this dry waller DH hired. He said he was going to be there at 10:30 this morning and the guy still hasn't showed up or even called saying he was going to be late or not able to make it at all. I'm the type of person that if you tell someone that you are going to be someplace at a specific day & time, you be there and if you're not able to for whatever reason... call. To me that's only common courtesy. Hope you're able to fight off those nasty germs.

Hearty - I'm feeling ME today. There are definitely parts of my body that are talking to me today. Especially my bi's. I share pics of my workout area when it's done. I hope DS does well tonight in his last game.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Brenda---I only purchased the Party Rockin' step workouts. Is Knock Out similar to Hard Strikes?

DS15 team won the game 7-6 giving them a winning season of 10-0. They were a bunch of excited boys after the game.

My body is sore today from yesterday's High Reps. No workout this morning because I let the boys sleep in the basement since they have no school today. It's a work day for me though.

Have a great day!

Good morning. Yesterday I did not work out. On top of whatever little bug this is, it waas the first day of TTOM and all I wanted to do was lay around and eat... which is pretty much what I did :D

Today I did the second half of Cardio Leg Blast. I missed this workout so much! But, D2S has definitely increased my lower body strength. I was feeling like the strength moves were too easy with Cathe's weights, so I went heavier for the last two exercises and they still felt too easy! I even added on 100 KB swings at the end . It feels good to feel strong :D

Brenda- I must admit I'm a little jealous. I have a nice, large workout area in my basement, but it's not finished and I don't like being down there in the dark with the creepy crawlies very much  Maybe someday...

Heartymax- DS got his flu shot (actually the nasal mist), but DH and I didn't. Some years I've gotten it and some years I haven't. I haven't decided about this year yet. Good luck to your DS!

Have a great day, everyone.

Hello!

This morning I did X10 Low Impact, Cardio Blast, Fat Blasting Circuit premix.... OMG!! I was ringing wet with sweat and Cathe kicked my butt!! I think I need to do some yoga tomorrow and let my body recoop from the last two days. I loved it though!!

Hearty - ROKO doesn't have as many jacks as Hardstrikes. I think ROKO is combo of boxing and kickboxing moves. Still like KPC better though. :)

Sam - That is great the D2S had increased your strength. Don't you love it when you see those improvements. My area in the basement isn't huge but it works for me and will work for Fit4You once that starts after the first of the year. I could comfortable training two people at the same time in my area. Could maybe do three but that might be pushing it.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Just checking in to bump our thread to the top, say hi, and to say I'm not working out today. I guess I'm enjoying a lighter week after finishing D2S.

And my hairdresser has me convinced to join a gym just to use the weight room  I'm going to check it out in a couple weeks...

Have a great day!

Good Afternoon!

This morning I was gentler to my body and did Biggest Loser Weight Loss Yoga. The lunges for the warrior poses were a little challenging due to my limited range of motion in my hips due the arthritis. I did the best I could and that's what matters.

Sam - Wisconsin Athletic Club opened up in Menomonee Falls this week and they have tours and enrollment this week. I'm going to go over there Saturday morning to check it out. I won't join, I want to see the place and hopefully talk to some people and maybe get my foot in the door. After having worked out in clubs for years, I prefer working out at home. Especially since I workout at a fairly insane hour in the morning. That is what works for me. Good luck on finding a place to join.

Hi Hearty!
Hi Susan!

Make it a great day!
Brenda

This morning was Party Rockin Step 1 which is way more complex than workout 2. It will take me a few times to get it down. I added on Burnsets Biceps and Triceps which felt really good.

Sam----I remember the days of going to the gym. It was fun then but doesn't fit into my schedule at this point in my life.

Happy Friday!!

This morning I did Cardio SuperSets, All Out LI HiiT Floor and Disc. Had a good workout. Sweat was pouring off of me. :)

Hearty - I'm with you on that.. the gym was fun way back then but doesn't work for me at this point in my life either. I'm okay with that. I haven't even previewed either of the PR DVD's.

Hi Sam!
Hi Susan!

Everyone have a great weekend!
Brenda

Hello all, and Happy Friday! I just finished Flex Train. I think it was a great workout, but I didn't enjoy it very much. I think I'm just in a mode now where I prefer larger, multi-joint movements instead of doing a ton of reps on one little muscle, like triceps. I'm sure I'll come back to the classic, Cathe style of weights eventually, I'm just not feeling it right now. I did really like the firewalker segment. Short and effective, definitely.

Brenda and Heartymax- I belonged to a gym a few times and never enjoyed it much, but back then I was only there for cardio. I plan to join one that is no-contract, so I can always quit if I hate it. I just wish I had someone to go with me. Facing the weight room alone intimidates me a bit. :)

Have a great weekend, everyone!
