Buff Badgers Week of May 30th

STS Chest, Shoulders and Biceps today! My shoulders are fried. I could barely get through those last few exercises. Well, my legs didn't hurt that much from disc 9 the second time around. I guess I am in better shape:D.

HI there! Today starts my first "recovery" week with P90X. I will be doing Yoga Meltdown and going for a nice long walk.

Heartymax, way to go on your workout! I have no doubt you are getting much stronger!

Hope you all enjoy your Memorial Day. No big plans here.

Take care- Susan

This morning was Rhythmic Step---minus the step challenge at the end. I am always burned about by then:eek:.

Susan----Are the recovery weeks for P90x every 4 weeks also?

Hello! Today is Core Synergistics!:) I have missed doing this one!

Heartymax, yes, the breaks are every 4 weeks but he gives us specific workouts to do. Basically it's: Core 2 times, Yoga 2 times, kick-box and stretching. Glad your legs were not as sore! My shoulders always ache after a shoulder workout! They are my favorite body part, but they hurt like hell to train! Rythmic Step is one of my favorite step routines. it always puts a smile on my face!

Have a great day ladies!

Susan

Good morning! I hope everyone had a good holiday. I did Low Impact Step, even after doing yard work all morning. Boy, was it hot! No workout tonight, since it's grocery night, but I might try to squeeze in some yoga or a Stretch Max segment since my muscles are still sore from the aforementioned yard work.

I ordered Slim Series last week and it should be here by Friday, so I'll be joining you ladies in actually doing a rotation for once. I'm looking forward to trying something new, but I think I'll have to add some step workouts here and there or I'll go nuts :)

Last week of school!

Susan- enjoy your recovery week! I think that would be my favorite part of P90X.

Heartymax- Rhythmic Step is on my wishlist, it looks SO fun! Shoulders do hurt to train, especially, IMO, with the band. I always dread it :)

Morning Ladies,

S90 Legs & Ultimate Ball for me this morning.

Busy week for us. Tonight is youngest dd's choir concert. My parents are here for a visit this week, and will be leaving next Tuesday. Had a bunch of girls stay over last night, I'm sure they where regreting staying at our house since we still have one dd that has to get up for school. :D

heartymax, WTG on the workouts.

Susan, That was fast! It seems like you just started this P90X round.

Have a great day!

Heartymax - I know what you mean by being burned out to do the challenge in RS. With the shorter cardio workouts I've been doing lately, a 1 hour step workout seems to go on forever. Glad the legs weren't sore. I'm sure you are in better shape now. :)

Susan - I always felt that Tony's recovery weeks weren't much a recovery. :p Good job on P90x so far.

Sam - Let me know what you think of Slim Series. I've heard it's effective but it gets boring so adding some step workouts sounds like a good idea. I worked outside yesterday, too, and dang it was hot! Summer is officially here.

Laurie - I did Ultimate Ball this morning for the first time. Please tell me this one gets easier the more you do it. I couldn't roll out on my ball to the tips of my toes like they do. So are your parents in town for DD's graduation? Do you have a big party planned?

My weekend was pretty quiet and restful. I didn't get the walk and yoga (Bob Harper) in until Sunday. Was feeling lazy Friday night (again) and Saturday was spent doing housework and laundry. I think someone asked what yoga I like. I really don't do much of it although I should. I get such bad DOMS in my glutes from doing yoga. Anyone else get this, too? Did Supreme 90 Chest & Back yesterday and Ultimate Ball this morning. C&B really moves at a frantic pace. Had to keep reminding myself to slow down for some exercises to keep good form. Last Band Concert of the school year tonight! :D (I enjoy them but when you have 2 kids if 4 different Bands, attending all those concerts gets to be a bit much.)

Back and Triceps this morning. I must admit that I am enjoying the warm "sleeveless" weather. I feel so much more confident in my sleeveless shirts than last summer.

Sam---It has been a while since I heard people talk about Slim Series. I can't remember exactly what it is? Is that the one with Suzanne Somers in the infomercial??

Sue---I am sure the end of the year can get busy with the kids. Every club, music program, organization, etc. has something going on at the end of the year. Glad you remember to slow down to focus on good form. I find myself having to do that on some exercises.

Laurie---enjoy your parents visiting.

Susan---a recovery week with directions:D

Morning Ladies,

I'm taking Thursday and Friday off this week, I would like to spend some quality time with my parents. :D :D :D Seriously I do want to spend some time with them, I know my oldest is having a blast having them around. It really brings home how much my oldest dd and my Dad's personalities are alike.

This morning was Chest & Back and Tabata Inferno. This catches me up from the weekend. Got two deer ticks off the dog yesterday! Gosh how I hate those things. They are so small. DD's choir concert was really good, and dd's group was again really good. They sang 60's songs. Spring concerts are not good on a hot day, it sure got hot in the gym.

Sam, Last week of school, I'm betting you are all ready for a break. ;) I have heard some good things with the slim series.

Sue, Yes Ultimate Ball does get easier, because all of the workouts are working you core and making it stronger. I started out not being able to do the roll out all the time, but now I do out and back with no problem.

heartymax, I agree with you on the warm sleeve weather, and the arm shape. I to feel more confident going without the sleeves. ;)

Have a wonderful day!

Laurie - You deserve a couple of days off and spending quality time with your folks is important. I'm so glad UB gets easier. My lower abs are really feeling it.

Did Tabata Inferno today. What a torcher (or should I say torture!). I'm liking Supreme 90 so far but haven't decided if I'm going to do a 30, 60 or 90 day rotation yet. I have a couple new workouts I'm dying to try.

Hiit 40/20.............and I am exhausted from this 29 minute workout!

Laurie---I officially grant you an "excused absence" from exercising the next two days. :D

Sue---"torture"---too funny!

I did Firm Cardio Sculpt from BSS1 last night. I really had to heavy up on my weights to get my heartrate up, but then for some exercises, like pec flys, the weight was too heavy for the pace. Hmmm... can't quite bring myself to get rid of my Firms. They're still so nice for a "mindless" workout now and then, and I don't have enough other workouts to choose from (yet).

Slim Series should be here in a matter of an hour or so! I'm really excited to start a rotation. Which brings me to....

Heartymax- Slim Series is a little older, I think from 2003. It's a Beachbody series from Debbie Siebers and the follow up to her Slim in 6 program. From what I've heard and previewed, it's a low/no weight, high rep endurance system designed to "slim" you. Since I've been doing moderate to heavy weight training for a long time without getting to my goal weight, I thought it might be time to change things up a bit. I've been steadily losing weight over the past year, but very, very slowly. I'm sure I'll go back to heavier weight training because I really enjoy it, but I'm more interested in getting rid of the fat layer right now and sculpting beautiful muscles later :D Wow. That was a much longer explanation than you were probably looking for!

Sue- I'm glad you're liking S90. I'm already planning on doing a rotation of that after my Slim Series rotation since I'm giving it to DH for his b-day. I'll probably only do a 30 or 60 day because the new Cathes should be arriving very early in the fall!

Laurie- Enjoy your time off with your family! And, yes, I'm really looking forward to the summer which is HERE because...

TODAY WAS THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!! I still have a graduation church service to attend tomorrow night and a meeting on Monday but that's it! I graded my last paper this morning!

HI gang! Today is X-Stretch but first I must mow lawn and do yard work.

Laurie, enjoy your time with family! Can't replace that!

Sue, glad you liking the S90's.

Sam, I am very jealous of you right now! We have 5 more days to go!

DH and I had a long talk and decided I would go back to work full-time. So, I have been looking for the past week. I put in an application at Jansport on Tuesday. I was told I would hear in about 7-10 days. Well, they calledl the next day to set up an interview! I go in next Tuesday, so send me good vibes!!

See ya tomorrow! Susan

Sam - I can feel the excitement in your post about Slim Series. So do you start tomorrow? Happy last day of school! Time to relax a bit (well, after Monday).

Heartymax - 40/20 is tough! I did Tabata yesterday which is 20/10 (20 seconds work followed by 10 seconds rest so the same ratio). I think 40/20 is harder though because that 40 seconds can seem llike an eternity with some moves.

Did S90 Shoulders and Arms this morning. Man, that workout moves fast. My arms felt ready to fall off by the time I was through. Abs are still sore so it was hard to do the first circuit of ab work. Ouch! Tomorrow is Cardio Challenge.

Okay---I think I am the only one who should be jealous. My kids don't get out of school until June 20th. No workout for me this morning. I will do my leg workout tomorrow.

Sue---I guess S90 is high reps since you said it moves fast.

Susan----Nothing but positive vibes connecting right now!!!

Sam---Thanks for explaining the program. I just couldn't remember which one is was exactly. So it is related to the Slim in 6 which is what I think I really remember.

Laurie---have a great weekend with your family.

Hello ladies! Today is Core Synergistics! I can say I am getting better and lasting longer on many of the exercises in this workout.

Sue, don't sore abs just stink? I can handle most sore muscles but I hate when my abs hurt. Hope they are better today!

Heartymax, boy, the 20th is late! When do you start the school year? Thanks for the good vibes!:D

No big plans for the weekend. Shopping to do, house to clean, same old, same old! Start phase 2 of P90X on Monday!:)

Have a great weekend! Enjoy your graduations ladies!

Susan
