Buff Badgers Week of July 11th

heartymax

Cathlete
Hello everyone! On Saturday, I did Muscle Max for another great total body workout. This morning was Pyramid Upper Body and I thought I was going to pass out from all those quick paced reps. Now, I know why I used to always just do the pyramid down segment.

DH and boys are back and they had a great time. I did very little cooking since I was home alone so that should tell you about my diet last week. I need to clean it up a little better this week or at least get it back to normal. I ate one meal out almost every day and I know that is not normal for me at all.

HI there! Start my new job today so I was up at 4:15 and did Chest/Shoulders/Tris and then Abs. Then I got on the elliptical for a quick(but deadly) 30mn cardio. Saturday was KenpoX and yesterday was stretching and some lower body pilates.

Heartymax, bet you were happy to see the family back. It'll be easier to get the diet back on track when you actually have more mouths to feed. I sat down last night and tried to write up my eating plan for the week. We'll see how it goes!

My weekend was pretty quiet, just cleaning, reading, relaxing. Hope you all had a nice one as well!

Have a great day! Susan

Morning Ladies,

Ouch! My feet are sore. Had a great weekend at faire, it was packed with people on Saturday. I don't know if we have ever had that many people on opening day. The saddest thing I saw was yesterday. These people had a newborn in a stroller with nothing on but a diaper. The poor thing was crying, that is how I new it was a newborn. :( Sometimes you just want to tell these people to GO HOME!

Saturday I got in S90 Cardio Challenge, Sunday I just was way to tired to get myself in the basement to do yoga. This morning I gave my feet a break and did Pure Strength Back, Biceps, Chest, Shoulders and Triceps.

heartymax, I'll join you on getting the eating back on track. Weekends are going to horrible for me, but I'm going to try my hardest to eat as well as I can. Glad your family had a good time, but I'm sure it was nice to get those hugs. ;)

Susan, Best of luck to you on your first day of work. You are getting up at the same time that I do in the morning. ;) Sounds like a great weekend, even if it involved cleaning. :D

Have a wonderful day!

Good morning! I'm back from Missouri, and the same weight I was when I left :D I did gain about two pounds of water weight, but it's gone already. DH and I have been craving green vegetables like crazy. Our hosts really love fruit, but veggies were a bit scarce

I managed to do Travel Fit twice and the bootcamp premix of Kick Max once. On Friday I did Jari Love's Get Ripped for the first time. I liked it, but I'll have to up my weight next time. It was a walk in the park compared to Slim Series. Yesterday I did the Cardio Timesaver Premix from Low Impact Circuit (LOVE LOVE LOVE that workout!) Today I intend to do Jari Love's Slim and Lean. (A very generous person gave me all three of the original Jari Loves for free )

On Saturday I didn't have time to work out because we were busy at the Humane Society adopting our NEW PUPPY! His name is Elliot and he's just precious.

Heartymax- I do not eat well when left to my own devices, that's for sure. I'll be right with you getting back on track this week. I've got a whole week of healthy meals planned, now I just have to stay away from unhealthy little nibbles.

Susan- How'd the first day at your job go? I'm always so nervous when starting something new.

Laurie- Glad the Faire went well. Sorry about seeing the newborn being treated that way. I think people don't fully grasp that having a baby really does mean living completely differently from how they did before. Let's hope that family realized the day didn't go well and not to try something like that again.

Hello Sue, Karen, and Lala!

Sorry I didn't checkin on Friday but I took the afternoon off because I knew I had a busy weekend and wanted to start my birthday weekend early. :D

Here's how my past few days have gone:
Thursday night - S90 Ultimate Ball
Friday - Rest day
Saturday - S90 Tabata Inferno
Sunday - S90 Chest, Shoulders, Triceps
Monday - S90 Legs

We went to a company picnic on Saturday and yesterday I watched 3 1/2 hours of Ireland video taken from my sister's trip in May. The video watching was actually very interesting and did not seem like 3 1/2 hours. My sister had a cake for me and my brother to celebrate both our birthdays (his is end of June). Between the food I ate at the picnic and my sister's house, I am ready to get back to better eating this week.

Heartymax - IMO the PUB workout moves too fast if you're going with heavy weights. I add extra rest between sets because it feels better for my body. Body for Life uses a pyramid and you rest a full minute between sets. That's my rationalization for it.

Susan - Good luck at your new job today! You got up 15 min. before I did but you got a lot more workout in.

Laurie - Great news that Ren Faire had a big opening weekend. :D That must make all of you feel good. Nice to know the sore feet aren't all for naught. ;) Yeah, those people with the baby were clueless but hopefully they learned a lesson. Great workout this morning.

Sam - See? What did we all tell you about worrying about gaining weight? ;) Congrats on the new puppy! What kind of dog is Elliot?

Hi Karen and Lala!

Hi,

Today I did a 5.5 mile run. Yesterday I did RKS disk 6 and RKS disk 5 and a 1 mile run and BBL Rapido. Still recovering from my ribs being pushed to far back by the chiro. and they still hurt. Tomorrow will be the group bike ride.

Enjoyed my time with my family. They were up for 7 days. The boys did the Mt. bike race in Eau Claire over the weekend and camped out. I stayed behind. DS15 took 3rd in age group and 3 rd overall in Citizen after not racing since last year at the same race. He was so pumped. Only 1 month till DD18 leaves for college. Can't stop thinking how close it is getting.

Laurie, how did you daughter get into a program like she is in for college? My son has a low gradepoint and didn't score well on the SAT and he wants to go to GB. Any help would be appreciated. Another year at the faire, glad it was busy.

Sue, happy birthday again. Glad you had a nice time with your family. Nice workouts. Are you seeing any progress with S90?

Sam, you are getting in some great workouts. Glad you didn't gain any weight over vacation. You must have eaten better than you thought. Elliot will be lots of fun. How old is he?

Susan, nice job getting up so early. Hope you had a good day at your new job. We need details on how much you liked it.

Heartymax, love muscle max. I must not go heavy enough on PUB, you rock.

Lala, burnt any hot dogs lately? My sister in law left the grill for a bit and returned to find our supper very black. I see you are back into swimming. I wish I could swim better.

Have a great day.

HI! It sounds like (almost) all of us enjoyed the weekend a bit too much:) We went to GB to visit my DD and explored a lot of great restaurants! Got in a good run on Fri and again yesterday. Today was GS B/B/S

Karen, Nice job on DS 15 bike race. That month will probably go by fast. Is this your first to go to college? What is RKS?

Heartymax, I really like MM, too.

Laurie, hope that ren faire keeps going well for you. I'm impressed that after long days at the fair, you can still get a workout in!

Sue, Hope your birthday was fun. Happy Late Birthday!

Susan, How'd the job go?

Sam, What kind of dog did you get?

Hi there! Today was PlyoX! Boy, that can be tough at 4:30 in the morning!

New job is really good. There is so much to learn, my head was swimming when I left! I was given this huge binder full of information as my "bible". I am sure it'll all make more sense when I get more involved int he computer program. Thanks for the well-wishes!:D

Sam, congrats on the puppy! What kind of dog is it? Big or little?

Karen, glad you had a nice time with your family. Do you like those kettle bell workouts?

Okay, I better get a move on! I'll check back in later!

Have a great day! Susan

Susan--so glad the first day on your new job went well! "Head swimming" feeling is quite normal and you will be like an old pro soon.

Sue----I definitely had to take at least a 30 second rests when needed. I guess it is so much more noticeable since I have been doing STS. Sounds like you had a great birthday!

Karen----chiro---ouch. I hope your rib feels better soon.

Sam---congrats on maintaining your weightloss. It's amazing how things turn out better than we think sometimes. Glad you had a great trip.

Laurie---Now that I am trying to get back on track, I guess I better not buy anymore of those Hagan Daiz ice-cream bars:rolleyes:

This morning was Rhythmic Step and now I have to finish my presentation for class this evening. I am almost done, but procrastination set it. It should take about an hour and I will be done.

Have a great day.

Good Morning,

Lala, DD18 is my first to go to college. RKS is the Reinhardt Kettlebell Ststem. Does your daughter live in GB? My son wants to go there after he graduates next year because he loves the Packers. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me but it does to him.

Susan, nice job getting that workout done that early. Hope the learning goes quickly for you. I love Kettlebell workouts. They are by far my favorite thing to do. Can't believe how quickly they work to tone things up. I really love Peak 10 also. Great results when I use them.

Heartymax, my favorite step workout is RS. Don't do it much but I really love that one. Glad you are almost done with your presentation. I am sure it will be a good one.

Hi Sue, Laurie, and Sam. Have a great day.

Morning Ladies,

This morning was Legs & Glutes Premix #11 Stranding work , and KCM's 30MTF Kickboxing Punch Mix (used weighted gloves). Now that was fun! :D I so love the L&G workout, it is so fun but full of torture.

Sam, Congrats on the new puppy. We got our Cami from the Humane Society, and it was such a great experience that we would gladly adopt another dog from them. ;) Have a wonderful time with the new adventure.

Sue, Happy Birthday! Sounds like a lot of us have to get back on the right eating track. Faire is going to kill me though, it is very hard to make sure that I eat properly. :(

Karen, I am seriously looking at the RKS, it sounds like a good system for someone who has never tried kettlebells before. It looks like a doable program vs. trying a single workout. We worked with the school's guidance counselor to get DD into the program. Since she has a reading disability we had to have a Psychologist report, and school information such as grades and recommendations from teachers. I would start with the counselor, they would have more information on how to help your DS to get into college. ;)

Lala, Oh I had to rearrange my rotation so that I didn't have to move my feet to much. They hurt so bad yesterday, and I have to say that I was super happy with my choice. ;)

Susan, To bad on the information overload, but I'm sure once you get into the swing of things it will be old hat soon. ;) Your body will bet used to the cardio so early, and then love it. :D

heartymax, No more ice cream! Guess I better chuck the stuff in my freezer. :( I do the procrastination thing also. ;)

Have a great day!

Karen - Yes, I think I am seeing results from Supreme 90. I haven't weighed myself in a week (if I weigh too often I get discouraged) but my pants are looser than they have been in a long time. I'm on Day 44 so almost halfway through. Enjoy your group bike ride tonight!

Susan - Your new job may seem overwhelming but little by little you'll learn it all. It IS a challenge to workout at 4:30 a.m. Sometimes the hardest part is deciding whether or not you're going to get out of bed or hit the snooze.

Laurie - So Legs & Glutes left you "stranded" this morning, eh? ;) Just teasing. Can you pack food to bring to the Faire?

Lala - Do you have any fun runs coming up?

Sam - Do you have any pictures of your puppy?

Heartymax - Is that presentation done yet? ;) Since I read about you doing RS I have the warm-up song stuck in my head! LOL I love the warm-up song - so uplifting and really sets the mood for the workout.

No workout yet today. S90 Cardio Challenge is on tap for tonight.

Have a great day everyone!

Did Slim & Lean last night, and I must've gone temporarily insane because I just did Imax 2. Happy to say I did better than I usually do. I've only gotten through the whole thing twice now, but I only had to "really" modify on the three super tough blasts. I'm exhausted... not even sure I've got enough in me for a shower

But, I do have to shower because DS and I are meeting a friend of mine in 90 minutes. But, I will answer dog questions first!

He was listed as an Australian Cattle Dog / Mix at the Humane Society. We think his face looks more like a beagle, but he has a cattle dog coat. If I can ever take the time to figure out how to make an avatar :)rolleyes:), he'll be my picture. They seem to think he'll get to be around 40-45 pounds. So, sizable, but not huge. He's about 8 weeks old. The whole experience was really exciting because there were four puppies when we got there (we had been checking the website) and by the time we had Elliot (he was Linus at the HS), they were all gone.

Okay, gotta drag my sweaty self up to the shower. Have a great evening everyone!

Just a quick check in before going to "Farm Tech Days". Have never been but it should be fun!
Did a 4.5 mi run this am and wanted to get in GS C/T but that didn´t happen. Maybe when I get back...maybe tomorrow!

Sam, am looking forward to seeing your puppy!

Sue, there´s a fun run by Lambeau field the 30 of this month that I´m looking at!

Karen, I guess I can understand DS wanting to go to GB for the Packers  Yes, my DD lives there and it is a lovely community! That run I mentioned ends with a lap around the field

Laurie, Sounds like a great combo workout you did today!

Heartymax, Have to agree, RS is a fun one! You must be almost done with your class...that feels good! I´m finishing up my project for one.

Susan, Glad you are enjoying your job. and hope you can keep getting up so early ;)

lala---not done with class yet. Last night was my 2nd presentation and it went well. I have research paper on cyberbullying court cases due in two weeks and we have a final exam the last night. You just reminded me of the killer GS C/T.. After STS, I am so looking forward to all of Cathe's other workouts. It seems like they are "new" to me all over again.

Sam---WTG on Imax 2. I rarely do the entire workout. I opt for a premix most of the time and follow it up with upper body weights. Imax's are tough!!!

Sue and Laurie----I finally did an internet search for S90 and it looks interesting. For $20 what will I have to loose. I may decide to give it a try in the months to come. I am always thinking of excuses to buy more exercise stuff:eek: At DH knows that it is not collecting dust so he can't complain. It is not like I am buying new shoes right:D

Karen--yes, I love RS----but I never do the bonus at the end. I am always tooooooo tired!

Susan----you will get used to get up early for the workouts. Like Sue said, the hardest thing is getting out of bed.

Just finished Butts and Gutts......my "toosh" may be sore later today.

Hi there! Today was Back/Bi's/Abs. Might get some cardio in later....

The job was better yesterday. Once I sat down and actually worked the computer program I am using, it made more sense.

Sam, your Elliot sounds adorable! Can't wait to see a pic. IMAX2 is one of my all-time favorites!

Heartymax, yes, I agree S90 is tempting... Hope your tooshie isn't too sore later!

Lala, I too love the GB area. It's a great town.

Sue, funny, I was just trying to hit the snooze this morning but told myself "NO" and got up. I am sure everyday will get a bit easier at this new job. One of my new co-workers, who has only been there a couple months, said it takes about 1 month and then you're a pro! We'll see if she's right!:D

Have a great day ladies! Loving this cooler weather!

Susan

Sam - Imax 2 is only mildly insane. Imax 3 is definitely insane which is probably why I hardly ever do it! LOL Elliot sounds cute and what a great name. Glad you were able to snap him up before he was gone.

Lala - I wish Green Bay was closer so I could do that Fun Run. Taking a "victory lap" (a victory for finishing the race!) around Lambeau would be awesome!

Heartymax - Do it! Buy S90. :D I'm such an enabler aren't I? I may join you on the sore tooshie today after my butt workout last night. (See below)

Susan - Great job at getting those workouts in and avoiding the snooze button. I'm glad your 2nd day was easier. Bet you're looking forward to the weekend though.

Karen - How far did you go on the group ride last night?

Hi Laurie!

Last night I did S90 Cardio Challenge and Butt Bible Lower #1 23 min. from Exercise TV. This morning I did S90 Back & Bis. Was checking out the new selections on Exercise TV and found the Butt Bible workouts. It looked like a good add-on so I decided to give it a try. The instructor is Pauline Nordin from Sweden. She's on the Nordic version of Biggest Loser. The only reason I know that is because I googled her this morning. The workout is basic but good. I swear my pants feel looser today! She makes stupid comments (e.g. "You must make love to the butt!") but if you can get past that these seem like good workouts so far. There is level 2 and 3 for lower body and she has 3 upper body workouts also. It is available for sale as a 3 dvd set. for $24.99 at
http://www.thebuttbible.com. (I sound like an advertisement don't I?) I'll try more of her workouts and keep you guys posted as to whether or not the workouts are worth the price.

Morning Ladies,

Today was KCM's 30MTF Weights Biceps, Triceps and Shoulders. Then I did Jillian's Six Week 6-Pack Level 2 workout. The arms and abs are nice and toasty right now, because Kelly does ab work between the weight circuits. ;)

Tomorrow we are having a compnay picnic and softball. If you remember last year I pulled a hamstring during this. I'm playing again, but hopefully I will avoid the same fate. :)

Sue, LOL yes I was stranded! I don't know why I was making so many typo's yesterday. We do pack food for faire, but you crave salty foods. I don't know if that is what is making me feel awful afterward or not. I have been seeing the Butt Bible postings on facebook, guess I should check out the on demand channel. ;) I'm guessing they have them downloadable also.

Sam, I don't know a lot about Jari, but from what I have heard she reps you a lot. You must have gone insane for just a little while to add on Imax 2 (one of her best workouts :D). Hope you are able to figure out the picture, sounds like a cute dog.

Lala, Did you have a good time at the Farm Tech Days?

heartymax, WTG on making the toosh sore! I was surprised that the L&G premix made mine sore, since it is a short workout. I'm going to be putting that one into my rotation again. :D I think that you will enjoy S90, they are some great workouts.

Susan, Yep 21 days is suppose to make something become a habit. ;) I forgot to set my alarm on Monday & Tuesday, but my body still got up when my alarm should have gone off. I love this weather also, hope it holds until after Sunday. :D

Have a wonderful day!

Hi Ladies,

Last nights bike ride was 42 miles at a 21mph rate. This morning I did RKS disk 8 and yesterday in the am I did RKS disk 7.

Laurie, how do you like Jillian's 6 pack ab workout, I thought it was good. Have fun at your picnic and don't get hurt this year.

Sue, I didn't realize there were BL all over the country. Butt Bible workouts sound interesting. You sure are coming up with some great add ons.

Susan, glad you are getting more comfortable with your job. Did you end up getting in your cardio?

Heartymax, nice job on B&G. For sure that is going to make something sore. I am sure it will be nice when your class is over.

Lala, Farm Tech Days. What does that entail? Thanks for the info on the GB run. That would be a great way to end a vacation. You are sure getting a lot of running in.

Sam, Can't wait to see pictures of you dog. Sounds cute. Good you got there when you did. Hope you enjoyed the time with your friend.

Off to bike with DD8. She likes the 5 mile loop around a new subdivision that was done a year ago.

Have a wonderful day.

Hi there! Today I was able to sleep in because it's my "easy" day. I am mowing the lawn after work and then Pilates. Work went even better than expected yesterday and the boss commended me so I was happy!:)

Sue, I have read in Oxygen about Paula N. I also looked her up after your message. You'll have to keep us posted on how it works for you.Wish I had exercise tv! :(

Laurie, enjoy your company picnic and be safe! Warm up those hammys! Sorry to say this looks like the last day of cooler weather!:(

Karen, well, my cardio was walking Ruby. I have not been taking her in the AM since I have been working out so now I take her after dinner. She actually seems to like that better. My DS follows us on his bike.

Have a great day! Stay strong- Susan
