Buff Badgers Week of Jan. 2nd

Sam- I hope you slept better last night. There are nights when I sleep a few hours and then I am awake around 1 to 2 and then it is very hard for me to get up to do my morning workout. Some days I manage to get up anyway and somedays my DH knows I didn't sleep well and leaves for work and let me continue to sleep.

Susan---Don't mention QVC. I literally had to practically not watch the show this holiday because I would be tempted to buy something. I love it especially during the Christmas season they have so much good stuff.

Hi Laurie and Sue!

My left knee and leg were bothering me last night so I decided to take a rest day today. STS legs is up next so I want to give my body a rest. I am hoping to be able to do it tomorrow along with a low impact cardio.

Eating has been pretty good this week. I will have to focus on carrying it through the weekend.

Morning Ladies,

Confession time! I just can't get into the STS workouts. I so want to do other workouts, and STS is just not making my workout time happy. I keep thinking about the 10lb Slimdown workouts, so I'm going to be doing those along with the Weider workouts. I hope that I will be in the mood for STS in the spring, just one of those things that happens I guess. :D

Anyway I was in the mood for some Cindy Whitmarsh instruction, so I did Results 10 Days to a Better Body Upper & Lower workouts. That was fun! And no I didn't do the STS workout after work yesterday. ;)

Susan, I think the chance for the weather to be good for your run are very high. I can't say that I'm missing the snow and cold at all. Our house could never go meatless either, so need to get my slow cooker out also. I saw a recipe for orange chicken that was made in the slow cooker. Maybe I should try that one out next week.

heartymax, Hope that knee of yours starts feeling better. WTG on the eating, it has taken me a little longer this week to get the eating under control. Had a little celebration here on Tuesday, because someone retired that really needed too. :D

Have a wonderful day!

Morning ladies! I woke up all ready to work out, but my back seems to have flared up again. So, I went back to bed. It's been a rough week for the workouts and eating. I'm actually doing worse at eating than I did over Christmas. I seem to have hit the winter doldrums already, despite the beautiful weather.

I may try to do some TA webisodes this afternoon or evening since they're easy on the joints and I can just do them in the living room.

DH and I may go to Culver's tonight for my favorite cheat meal: the double deluxe burger! The best part of being meatless most of the time is how much I enjoy it when I cheat

Heartymax- I was inspired by your slow-cookery to find some meatless slow cooker recipes online. I found one for a veggie stew with cornmeal dumplings. Yum! I think I'll have to try it next week.

Susan- It took a little while to get used to giving up meat most of the time, but we all feel great. Everyone has to find what works for them, though. I could never give up my grains or beans, and that definitely is a big trend lately. I tried to go on South Beach a few years ago, and my grouchiness was unreal! I didn't care that I lost 13 pounds in two weeks, I wanted a cracker!

Laurie- Was this your first time attempting STS? I've been so tempted by it, but it does seem like it has a bit of a boredom factor for some people. You should definitely do what makes you happiest. It's funny how you said you "keep thinking" of slimdown; it reminded me of a romantic affair :)

Have a great weekend, everybody. We're celebrating my dad's 65th birthday on Sunday, which means lamb shanks! This part-time vegetarian will certainly be getting her meat quota this weekend! :D

HI gang! Well I ran 4.5 this morning! Man it felt like spring out there! It was 41 degrees! Loved it! Tomorrow is my rest day and SUnday is S90 Legs and since the Packers aren't playing I'll try to squeeze in some cardio too. I fell when running (slid on black ice) and my back is very sore right now. Going home to rest it..

Laurie, sometimes those things happen ( with STS). I know when I first started out with both S90 and P90X I just could not get into them. Then a while later it clicked! Enjoy whatever workouts you choose!

Sam, hope your back feels better soon! ;) I am right there with ya!

Heartymax, I used to order from QVC a lot. Now I just watch and if I like something I write down the number, and check back a little later to see if I really want it. I do love them for Christmas shopping. I was watching "Clean House" one time, this women's house was full of QVC boxes!

Enjoy your weekends. I'll be at a B-ball tourney from 8am -6pm tomorrow ( I know you're jealous ) but Sunday should be relaxing!

See you soon~ Susan
