Buff Badgers Week of Feb. 27th

I can smell springtime!

Saturday was 40 minutes on the elliptical and abs. I am now in the last week of Meso 2. Chest, Shoulders and Triceps this morning followed by abs.

Salad and fruit packed for lunch. I am planning salmon, butternut squash and a veggie for dinner.

Morning Ladies,

This morning was STS Disc 13 Chest, Shoulders & Triceps. Great workout, but I have to get used to the 60 sec. rest periods. :D Liked the fact that I had time to change up my weights though. Saturday was a rest day, and yesterday I did 10lb Slimdown Xtreme Cardio Kickboxing with weighted gloves.

heartymax, Sounds like a good dinner plan, I'm not a fan of salmon. Don't understand why, it looks good everytime I see pictures of it. ;)

Have a wonderful day!

Good morning! I've got a real case of "The Mondays" today. Bleh. I didn't get enough sleep last night, and, true to my word... I have to do Afterburn this afternoon. Yikes. Plus, DS has a pretty bad cold and I'm all worried about catching it.

Friday was Hiit DWP.
Saturday was Cardio and Weights.

Yesterday was an unplanned day off. I ran out of time and my brother and his wife needed someone to help them paint.

The rest of the weekend was great. We went out for fish with my parents, DS stayed at his grandma's and went to a play with her. Then, Saturday we all went to the Domes for the model train show. DS was in heaven, but cried when it was time to go. We comforted him with frozen custard :)

Heartymax- Sounds yummy. I've got homemade veggie pizza planned for tonight.

Laurie- Salmon tastes less "fishy" if you soak it for ten minutes in icy saltwater before cooking it. Not that that's the reason you don't like it... I'm just taking a guess :) I didn't care for it much either until I started doing that. Of course, I usually like it in restaurants... and I love raw salmon!

Have a good day, everyone. I hope to shake myself out of this funk in pretty short order.

Good morning. Hmmm... maybe everyone had the Mondays yesterday....

Well, I didn't shake off my bad mood until after I had a long nap on the couch and had made dinner. I finally did Afterburn at about 7... and I've got the doms to prove it :)

Today's a better day already. To make it even better, today is a scheduled rest day according to the LIS rotation. Yippee!

Have a good one, everyone.

Hi ladies! Sorry I failed to post yesterday. It was a grumpy day for me. Anyway, my weekend was nice and quiet. Saturday I did Cathe's MMA Kickbox, followed by CTX Kickbox. Sunday was S90 Legs and some Pilates for lower body and abs. Monday was S90 Chest/Back and today I got on the elliptical for 35mn (4.3 miles). DH is out of town tonight so I might do some pilates later too, if the kids don't need help with homework!:p

Sam, my DS was sick from school yesterday with a very bad cold and fever. He went back today but has a bad cough. :( Hope yours is better!

Laurie, what did you think of the Daytona 500? I am an Earnhardt fan but when he gets knocked out or does poorly I root for Kensenth so I was happy they came in #1 and 2!:)

Heartymax, wish I could smell Springtime!:) However, I have noticed when I get out of work at 6pm, it is still a bit lighter outside than it used to be! We Spring ahead next weekend so that will definitely help!

Have a good day everyone! Susan

Morning Ladies,

This morning was Hiit 30/30 and Weider X-Factor ST Abs.

Sam, Glad you are better this morning. You got your workout in, so that is good. A nap always does wonders. I have had salmon in resturants, and I still have a hard time with it. :( I like smoked salmon though. :D

Susan, Wow what a race, and of course explosion! I'm really happy for Matt, and this morning my youngest wanted to know when we where going to Daytona to see Matt's car and the cup at the museum. :D I love putting those two kickboxing workouts together. ;)

Have a wonderful day!

Hi everyone. Sorry to be gone so much. The kids were off last Thursday and Friday so we took the opportunity to visit a couple of colleges and see Mall of America. It was a nice trip although I really hope DD doesn't go to Minneapolis for school. It's too dang far away! My workouts over the weekend consisted of lots and lots of walking. By Saturday night my hip flexors were so sore I could barely walk. Yesterday morning I did ME Upper premix minus the abs. Today is my early morning so nothing yet. Hips are finally feeling normal again. Ate lots of bad food over the weekend so I need to get back on track.

Today is the 2 year anniversary of my Mom's death. Both my mom and dad are gone (as are DH's). I recommend reaching out to your folks if they're still alive because you never know how long you have together.

I was so busy trying to get dinner in the crockpot this morning until I forgot to post before leaving home. LOL!

Sam-----I respect you for being able to have enough energy to do Afterburn at 7PM. I am so worn out that time of the evening.

Sue--How was Mall of America? I would love to visit a mall like that but that is just not a location that I am interested in vacationing. My DH talks about appreciating our love ones often. His mom will be 87 in a few weeks. We are so far away, but definitely try to make a few trips year to visit.

Susan---don't mention homework. Sometimes I think DH and I look forward to summer more than the kids. :D

Laurie---I see you on into Meso 2 now. Enjoy.

This morning was Intensity Step/Hi-Lo premix followed by a segment of Ab Hits. For some reason I realize that I am not feeling DOMS in my triceps this round of STS like I did the last time. I wonder if it is my form or what. I recall my tri's aching for days after doing STS the first time through.

Oh well----looks like I am the last to post today and I will probably be the first to post in the morning:D if I am back on schedule.

Good Morning! I am back again:D. Today was STS Legs. I do not like side lunges with the sliding discs. The back lunges really work my muscles but the side lunges form feels funny. My legs are so tired. I finished my workout off with another segment of Ab Hits which was the traditional abs from Leaner Legs.

Morning Ladies,

STS Dics 14 Legs, these where all tri-sets and lot's of fun. Needed to change up some of my 1RM's.

Sue, Nice that you had a chance to get to the MOA! I have only been there once. MN is far away, can tell you that I'm sure glad mine is in Whitewater. She was running a fever and had a pain in her right side. If she had been further away, I would have been a basket case. She has a kidney infection, but it sure has been nice only having to get to Janesville instead of further away. ;)

heartymax, I'm planning on getting that slow cooker out soon. ;) Yes I'm really loving the change of pace. Knowing that I only have 10-12 reps to do is way more enjoyable. Feeling the DOMS though. :D I have to really concentrate on my form for Tri's, otherwise I don't feel like I have worked them. I'm with you on those side lunges! Had them this morning also.

Have a great day!

Good morning! I've decided it's going to be a good day, today. Yesterday started out okay, but it was downhill from the afternoon on. At least it's a short work week. We have conference Thursday and Friday.

Sue- I went to school in New Ulm, MN, not too far from the cities. We took many weekend trips there. It's a drive, for sure, but I managed to get home for all the major holidays every year. I will say that it is COLD and WINDY, however. The coldest, snowiest four years of my life, for sure. :)

Laurie- You and Heartymax are really making me want to give STS a try. Maybe next winter... I love smoked salmon, too. I used to buy it pretty often when DH and I had a Sam's Club membership. I'd eat it on a bagel with cream cheese for breakfast. Yum!

Heartymax- 7 p.m. isn't exactly my preferred time of day to workout, either. At least I got it in. And, since I had the nap, I didn't feel too bad at all. :D

Susan- DS is still pretty sick. Thankfully, I've been able to fend it off so far. I hope your DS feels better soon, too. Mine was up for an hour very early this morning with a bad cough :(

Today is Cardio Supersets according to Cathe.

I'm back to journaling my food. I've been doing just terribly lately, and haven't been following my Lent plan, either. I may have to revise that plan a bit.

Have a great day, everyone.

Morning Ladies,

This morning was S90 Tabata Inferno and 10lb Slimdown Xtreme Bonus Abs. Been a while since I have done the tabata workout, and it was a lot of fun.

Sam, Come on join us! I'm having a great time with the STS workouts this round. Feeling DOMS in my thutt area. Bagels and cream cheese is so nummy, and then have smoked salmon. Yum! Have fun with your new rotation.

Have a great day!

HI there! Sorry I didn't get to post yesterday. It ended up being my rest day anyway! Today was S90 Shoulders/Arms.

Sam, well my DS is back to normal but DH just came home from work with the flu, and he is NEVER sick! Let's all say a prayer that I don't catch it!

Laurie, I am in my last month of S90 and am really liking the results. I have only lost 5 pounds, but my arms have more definition and my booty is "cute".:) Cannot decide what to do after. I am thinking of creating a Cathe/Jillian routine for like 2 months. I miss working out to women!

Have a great ladies!

Susan

Laurie - Oh, my! A kidney infection! How did she get that? I want DD close and it's not just for selfish reasons. She has issues which go back a long time and unless she really pulls herself together the rest of the semester, I don't know how she'd manage on her own so far away. I even worry about Whitewater! Yes, MOA is fun. Our hotel was practically on top of it so that was convenient.

Sam - I haven't been doing well on my Lenten resolution either. It's so mean to deliver Girl Scout Cookies right before Lent! Lots of drama and stress the last couple of weeks didn't help either. I did turn down donuts and cake at work though so that's good.

Susan - Do you have Jillian's 6 Week 6 Pack? If you're thinking of a Cathe/Jillian rotation you should get it.

Hi Heartymax!

Did Power Circuit cardio and abs Tuesday night. Yesterday morning I slept in a bit so did half of Jillian's 6 Week 6 Pack workout #2. To be honest, that was enough for me! Tough workout and my abs are sore. This morning I did CTX Kickbox cardio. Had some technical difficulty with my dvd player and that dvd (no sound, freezing) so ended up playing it on my portable dvd player. I've had that with a few dvds now. Don't know if that means it's time for a new player or what. I use my cleaning disc but that doesn't seem to help. It only happens with a few dvds (for now).

Is everyone ready for more snow?

Hello! I've already been to conference and am home. I didn't have childcare during the afternoon, but I kind of wish I could have stayed. The whole conference was on brain-based education, and the keynote was very interesting.

I did Cardio Supersets yesterday as planned. I'm getting better at the plank stuff in LIS except for those accursed mountain climbers. Gah! I just cannot complete all of them. My hope is that by the end of the month I'll be able to.

Today is Low Impact Challenge. I may also add some abs because I think that's the main issue I have with mountain climbers, push ups, all that. Too bad I detest working abs

Sue- I keep saying it, but I think I need to get Six Week Six Pack. Her workouts are so inexpensive, and I could really use more core-focused stuff.

Susan- I can't believe you're nearing the end of your S90 rotation! It seems like you just started. Your results sound great. I could use a cute butt....I was cursed with a completely flat behind. I think a Cathe/Jillian rotation sounds great.

Laurie- As soon as I can invest in STS, I probably will. I'd also like DH to try it, for completely selfish reasons :D:eek::eek: Maybe it can be our Christmas present to each other. Though, I'm a little worried about extra equipment I'd have to buy. Do you have a tower/weight bench?

Hi, Heartymax!

Have a great day, everyone!

I decided to take a rest day yesterday. Sometimes that happens after STS Legs on Wednesday. Today was Back and Biceps and Jillian's 6 week abs. I think the problem that I have sometimes with drop sets is that I forget I am dropping 20% in weight and I drop 5% in weight. The 5% is the increase for the double wave load. Today was much better for the drop sets since I actually remembered to do it correctly. Since the workouts are not all recorded separately and are edited, sometimes the words on the screen don't match what Cathe is saying. it doesn't happened a lot but I have noticed it a few times.

I also decided to join the Push It challenge since I was planning to start working on my push ups again. Someone posted about it a few days ago so I decided to check in. I am excited about making some strength gains again. Push ups help define my shoulders and works the core well too.

Sam--definitely put STS on your Christmas list this year. It is such a great investment. I love the program. It really forces you to lift heavier. I never did the 1rep max so I may not be getting the total benefits that I could but I have always been pleased with my definition gain.

Sue---I only do 1/2 of Jillian Abs when I do it to. I am thinking she goes through it twice as some probably use it as a workout for the day. Like you, I use it as an add on to my intense cardio or weight workout and 15 minutes is enough.

Susan-- I was the brazillian butt lift infomerical the other day so I am sure you feel good about your "cute booty" because those ladies had me cracking up about their lifted butt.

Laurie---I am glad you are having fun with STS. I still haven't decided if I am going to jump right into Meso 3 next week so I can finish the entire thing before going on break. Well--I have until Monday to figure that out.

My workout plan for Saturday is to get a morning workout on the elliptical.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Morning Ladies,

I have a new boss! Well actually my boss has a choice of demotion or leave. His boss was let go. I'm having a great day today.

Workout this morning was STS Disc 15 Back & Biceps, and I'm feeling the love that this workout has given me.

Susan, Glad that S90 has been so good for you. Love the definition and butt! ;) I'm doing the same combining Jillian/Cathe. Probably something different than you are going to do. But after STS is over with I'm planning on 4 weeks of Gym Style and then 2 weeks of Jillian. Then 4 weeks of 4DS followed by two weeks of Jillian. That way I can get my Jillian fix. :D

Sue, Don't know how she got the infection, I had a double infection when I was her age. We are way to much alike, she probably needs to get more fluids in her system. Those dorms are so dry. Dang on the DVD player. :( I have Jillians Xtreme Shred, have not tried it out yet. Will be getting her new Kickboxing one when it comes out this month also. Still hoping that her new set gets a little less expensive.

Sam, I have the tower that Cathe uses (Walmart sells it for much less than Cathe), and I have had a bench (not expensive) for quite a few years. I never liked doing work on the bench like Cathe does. Need the cushion.

heartymax, I totally understand about those leg workouts, I was surprised at how sore my legs where yesterday. This morning I was giggling about Greg kneeling in front of a pink stability ball. That just tickled my funny bone. :D I'm sure that your body will let you know if it will be ok to move onto M3 next week. ;)

Have a great day!

Good morning! Once again I'm back from conference already. Today was much less stimulating.

I did the Core Only premix from Bootcamp and Low Impact Challenge yesterday. Today Total Body Trisets Lower Body is on the schedule. I'm sort of dreading it. Standing lower body work is not my favorite, but I know the trisets format keeps me from getting too bored.

Laurie- Is having a new boss part of having a great day? :) I'll have to look for that tower the next time I go to Wal-Mart. Or did you get it online?

Heartymax- I can understand needing a day off after an intense leg workout. As I said above, legwork is not something I enjoy.

DH had a meeting last night with his business partner and a potential client to take a look at the software he's written so far. He was please; I guess he's on the right track with what he's included so far. Unfortunately, he didn't get home till almost midnight, and I waited up for him; so I'm pretty sleepy today. At least I don't have cardio lined up for today. I don't know if I could muster the energy.

Have a great weekend, everyone.
