Buff Badgers Week of August 8th

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Back to school shopping went well. Just a few more basic items to purchase. It was so hard to walk by all the adult stores that I love and not go in and browse, but the budget was strictly for the kids only so I didn't purchase myself anything. I will grab a few items for myself in a few weeks:D.

Before heading out to shop on Saturday, I did the Step and Hiit Lo premix of Intensity followed by abs. I did my push ups on Sunday. I finished 3 weeks of slow and heavy and I am moving on to Gym Styles now. This morning was Back, Shoulders and Biceps.

Lunch is packed and dinner in the crockpot for my first day back at work.

I will check in this evening and hope everyone is doing well.

HI gang! Saturday was Plyox and Sunday ended up being a rest day. This morning I woke early and ran 4 1/2 miles, then walked Ruby for 30mn. I felt great while running and I really do think P90X helped. I didn't want to stop!:p

Heartymax, I use my slow cooker all the time. I work until 6pm and its nice that the family doesn't have to wait for me and dinner is all done when hubby gets home from work. I hope you enjoy your 1st day back! I do my back-to-school shopping this weekend. I think I am going to do 1 kids on Saturday and the other one on Sunday!

Hope you all had a nice weekend! We had a good time at my sister's cookout and I behaved.... for the most part!

Have a great day! Susan

Morning Ladies,

On Saturday I did Ripped in 30 and Biggest Winner Shape Up Backside. Sunday I was exhausted, and I needed the rest this morning also. But I'm planning on doing Ripped in 30 level 1 and Biggest Winner Shape Up Front after church. ;)

heartymax, Glad you where able to get your school shopping finished. ;) We got an e-mail from the HS that said so sorry that we don't have a list, just make sure that you have a couple of days open the first days of school to do that shopping. Enjoy your first day back, and WTG getting that crock pot going. Makes for a less stressful evening at home when you have dinner ready before you get home. :D

Susan, I knew you would do just fine on the running! ;) Now when are you going to do another round? I think that cheating a little at the cookout will not do you harm. You have done a great job.

Even though I am having a hard time with the humidity, it is taking the weight off the body on the weekends. My dress is starting to hang on me. :(

Have a wonderful day!

Hi gals,

Today I did S90 Total Body and ran the dog around the block. Spent all weekend with the kids tubing and knee boarding. Just the kids, not me. They had a blast.

Laurie, did you decide to keep on just a Jillian rotation or your as planned one? Does the weight stay off or does it come back during the week?

Susan, You did a great job running, no working up to it for you, just run. Sounds like a good plan not to shop all at once. I did shopping for two of the 6 over the weekend.

Heartymax, you are very organized. Glad your shopping is done. Have a great first day back. I really like the music in GS series.

Have to clean up my mat and weight mess from this morning. Tryouts for HS soccer are the next 3 days for DS17 and DS15.

Have a great day.

Good morning, everyone!

Heartymax- I did back to school shopping this weekend too, but it was just for me ;) It helps that I don't have one in school yet. DH gave me permission to use the Kohl's charge since most of my school clothes from spring are too big.

Susan- I'm glad to hear running went well. I'm thinking of trying to throw in a short run here and there once the weather starts to cool a bit. I'm not sure I know what I'm doing, though. I may have to have my brother check out my form.

Karen- I hope tryouts go well for your kids. It sounds like you had a great weekend!

Laurie- How is Jillian in her other workouts? All I have is the original "Shred" and her chatter drives me nutso :p Does she talk as much? I always do that workout with Jillian "off".

I am back from vacation. It was very relaxing. I ate pretty bad, but was able to fit my step in the car and worked out 6 times. I did four step workouts, as well as Travel Fit and Tone it Up!. I'm sure I've gained a little water weight anyway, but I hid the scale

The Elliot saga continues. I was supposed to take him in today to get his sutures out, but I was concerned because the area had been swollen and draining since last night. The vet took out the stitches, but he's concerned that either the area is infected, or that there's more larvae in there. Yuck. So, he put him back on antibiotics, opened the area and cleaned it out, and he goes back Thursday to see how he's doing. I sincerely hope it's just infected, because I really don't want him to have another surgery. For now, he's just crabby because he's wearing a cone

Have a great day, everyone!

Heartymax - Happy First Day Back at Work! I am impressed that you packed a lunch AND have dinner in the crockpot. Thought I was doing well by taking some chicken out to thaw. Great workouts. As much as I enjoy S90, I miss my Cathe workouts. Good restraint in not spending money on yourself!

Susan - It sounds like you've had all kinds of success with P90X and now you're turning into a running machine! Awesome. So you're another organized one with the crockpot, huh? Have any good recipes? I'm gone about 10 hours so the 5-6 hour recipes don't work. (Unless it's okay if they cook longer.) I worry about no one being home and starting the place on fire if it cooks longer than it's supposed to.

Laurie - I bought Ripped in 30 at Target but haven't tried it yet. Jillian said on her podcast that it's much harder than Shred. We don't get a list from our high school either. I just bought things I knew they'd need like filler paper, pens, mechanical pencil/refills. High 5 on the hanging dress!

Karen - Are you doing an S90 rotation or just throwing in some workouts here and there? You're good at mixing things up like that. Smart to break up the back to school shopping. My parents used to take all of us to K-Mart (probably at least 6 of us at the time) and do it all in 1 night. I remember watching the cashier ring everything up and couldn't believe we were spending over $100! $100 bought a lot back then.

Sam - Hurray on needing smaller clothes! Doing 6 workouts on vacation is fantastic! Keep that scale hidden for a few more days in case you have water weight gain. Ooh, poor Elliot! I hope his saga ends soon.

Sorry to be MIA last week. It was busy getting DH and the kids ready for their trip and then I had to clean the house to get ready for my sisters' visit over the weekend. They're both allergic to cats and we have 2 cats so I wanted to clean the house extra well so they wouldn't be miserable. They both took Claritin and I think the combo of the meds and my cleaning did the trick - not 1 sniffle all weekend! Yeah! I volunteered at the football kickoff breakfast on Wednesday, too and used a gift certificate for a hot stone pedicure. The pedicure was very relaxing and toes look great. They always do a much better job than I can do myself. I did manage to do Tabata Inferno on Friday but most of my exercise last week and over the weekend was house cleaning and walking. Lots of walking at State Fair on Sataurday and shopping with my sisters yesterday. . . . This morning I did S90 Chest and Back. Day 61 of the longest S90 rotation ever! Thought about quitting and doing something else but changed my mind.

So much for putting a roast in the crock pot yesterday. The power went out for like 10 seconds yesterday morning and "OFF" my crockpot went. A light flashes near the power button so my son never thought it wasn't actually cooking. Had to throw it out. AARGH!!! Anyway, roast number 2 is on this morning and I just finished Kick Max. I am running behind so can't type much.

Hello! Today was S&H Chest/Back and some ab work. Man, my chest is fried! My back is too, but I REALLY feel it in my chest!

Forgot to tell you that I did my final P90X measurements over the weekend. I was 2 pounds shy of my weight goal (lost 16) but I met or exceeded my inches lost goals for a total of over 13" gone! I went shopping for some dress pants Saturday and was happy to see I am down 2 sizes. I am using a self tanner this week and will be taking my final pics in a few days!

Heartymax, that is terrible about your roast yesterday! :( Let's hope there are no power surges today! However, I will boast that my BBQ ribs were yummy last night!:D

Sue, I have about 4 slow-cooker cook books and I also go to allrecipes.com for other ideas. I usually won't put it in unless it can cook for 8-10 hours on low. Then the kids turn it to "warm" after about 8. So glad you had a nice time with your sisters! How fun!

Sam, I sure hope Elliot heals quickly. Hopefully it's just an infection...You did great getting those workouts in during your vacation!:)

Laurie, I am not going to do another "round" until P90X2 comes out!:p They are pushing it a bit on Facebook so I do think they will actually offer it in November... Sounds like your DH may have to do alterations on that dress of yours!

HI Karen!
Hi Lala!

Have a nice day ladies! Susan

Morning Ladies,

PS Chest, Back, Shoulders, Biceps and Triceps for me this morning. If I have the energy tonight I would like to get in the last Ripped in 30 Level 1 that I missed, and also her Six Week-6 Pack level 1. ;)

Karen, Sounds like a fun time, I wouldn't be the one doing the tubing either. ;) I'm going to stick to my rotation, next week will be Level 2 of Jillian, so I will still be getting my fix. Usually the weight stays off, seems with this Jillian week the waist went away a lot faster than previous weeks. Good luck to the DS's, I'm sure they will do fine at tryouts.

Sam, Sorry to hear that Elliot is still having problems. Sorry to say that Jillian still talks a lot, so if it bothered you in Shred then she isn't any better. I can usually tune that kind of thing out. :D I just enjoy the tough workout she gives you.

Sue, Congrats on going forward with the rotation. You only have a few more weeks to go. Yes I think that RI30 is harder, and she slows the weight work down too. In a couple of exercises I have been able to use 15lb weights. I think that she has taken reviews to heart. I think it is easier on the knees also, she does less stressful warm ups also.

heartymax, Dang on the roast, that is to bad. I still have the old fashioned ones that have the three options. ;)

Susan, I'm going to wait for reviews on P90X2, but I'm sure that I will bite the bullet and get the package. I do love Tony. Just don't really enjoy the pull-Ups all that much. :D Once they have that set out, I'm sure they will find some way to do a P90X/P90X2 Hybrid also.

Have a wonderful day!

Heartymax - Sorry to hear about your roast. Sounds like something that would happen to me.

Susan - Awesome results! Can't wait to see your pics. I shouild look for some recipes on allrecipes. It sure would be nice to come home and relax with dinner already made.

Laurie - After this morning with Cardio Challenge I'm so happy I decided to keep going with S90. Had a great workout and my pants are loose again despite a not so great weekend of eating. Can't wait to try Ripped in 30 now.

Day 62 today: Cardio Challenge. Tomorrow is Legs.

Good morning!

Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts about Elliot. There hasn't been any improvement in his face since yesterday. If I was a betting woman, I'd say we're looking at another expensive surgery. He goes back to the vet on Thursday, so we shall see...

I had NO energy yesterday. I ended up doing 20 minutes of yoga and 25 minutes of an old Pink FIRM video that I've only done once or twice. Dealing with a very hyper, injured, coned puppy + hyper toddler + getting ready for school + normal housewife stuff has me really drained, I think. So, after my good week of workouts while on vacation, I think I'm going to take a recovery week of stretching, light cardio, yoga, etc... I'm thinking about another Slim Series rotation before the new Cathe series arrives, so perhaps I'll start that up next week.

Laurie- I agree Jillian works you hard. I don't even mind the "tough love" nature of her chatter, it's the sheer amount of it :) Thanks for the warning. It's too bad I can't tune her out. I'd love to have more short, tough workouts on hand.

Heartymax- Sorry about the crock pot disaster. I'd use mine more, but there aren't a ton of vegetarian slow-cooker recipes. Whenever I do use it, it seems like I mess something up, usually involving overcooking/burning.

Susan- Wow! Those are some great results! Congratulations, you must feel fantastic!

Sue- Nice job with the allergy prevention. I had a houseguest once leave my house watery-eyed and saying "I gotta get a hotel room." :) I'm glad you enjoyed your pedicure. I've only gotten one at a cheapie walk-in place, and wow did it feel great.

Have a great day everyone.

Hello Ladies!

Susan--congrats on a job well done with P90X. What great results you got. I hope you enjoy adding running to your routine.

Sue---You are hanging in there with your new rotation. Which one is your favorite? Hope you enjoyed spending time with your family.

Laurie---the entire PS upper body huh---another brave day for you! Your muscles must be burning today.

Sam---WOW! you must be very proud to get so many workouts on your vacation. I am lucky to get in 2 or 3 when I go on vacation.

Karen-- it is so rewarding watching our kids have fun. For some reason, kids think we have to be doing it too in order to have fun. When they become a parent, they will understand the joy we feel from seeing them so happy.

This morning was GS Chest and Triceps. I did my push up challenge after the warm up instead of the push ups with Cathe and moved right into the rest of the chest and tricep exercises. My triceps were already sore this morning. Maybe from the overheard extension for the back exercises the other day...

Has anyone of you tried spinning? I don't go to the gym so I have never tried it. People talk about so much.

HI there! Today was another 4.5 mile run followed by Ab RipperX.

Heartymax, thanks, I do enjoy running again. My tris get sore from doing overhead extensions as well.

Sam, I think you deserve a rest week! As for Elliot, I sure hope this is over for all of you SOON!:(

Sue, congrats on the "loose pants". It's always nice to notice a difference when doing a new program!

Laurie, how you have energy for a 2nd workout after work some days, amazes me!:D

HI Karen! Hi Lala!

Enjoy your day~ Susan

Morning Ladies,

MMA Kickboxing (no Abs) and L&G Premix #11 (standing) for me this morning. Got in the Jillian workouts last night, so feel better about catching up with my rotation. Hope to get in her Yoga Meltdown Level 1 tonight.

Sue, Love hearing that you have the loose pants! :)

Sam, With no energy you still got your body moving with those workouts. That is the important thing. Who says that you have to do tough workouts everyday! ;) Sorry to hear that Elliot is still not in the clear. :(

heartymax, Great idea on the push-ups. Isn't the GS one that she does a ton of them? That combo of upper body is only 60 min. so really not all that bad. Yes it is a tough one though. ;)

Susan, Will you be planning on a 5K or anything in the fall? Glad you are back to your running. ;) It will be easier to do doubles in the fall when I don't have the faire to deal with. Only 4 more weekends left!

Love the DEW POINT this morning! :D

Have a great day!

This weather is fantastic! I'm in a much better frame of mind today just because of that! Elliot's swollen area is smaller and softer today. So perhaps things are getting better. Here's hoping.

I dug out an old Leslie to do last night. Walk Away the Pounds 3 Mile. I think it's been at least 5 years since I've done that workout :) I didn't get my heartrate up much, but that's okay.

Heartymax- I haven't tried spinning either. Cycle Max has definitely peaked my curiosity, but I never get to a gym.

Hello to everyone else. I hope you have a great day. Enjoy this gorgeous weather.

Hi,

Went 36 miles yesterday and did some yoga and today I did Ab Ripper X and High and Tight segment with the band from BBL. Don't want to do much so I am not sore or tired for Sat. I don't know about this. 10 plus hours on the bike.

Sam, glad you are seeing improvement in Elliot. So hard to have to worry and take care of so many things. Glad you got in a workout today.

Laurie, Jillian does do great things for your core and those darn muffin tops. Nice job on the PS all upper body.

Susan, nice job on your runs. You amaze me how you can just pick up with 4 1/2 miles like its nothing. Nice job on your weight loss. Just awesome. You will be smokin for your reunion.

Heartymax, love GS. Nice job on those. I always pucker out on her chest work. It kill in that series. Spinning is great fun. I do it a lot in the winter. I use my trainer with my road bike. Great no impact high cardio workout with great afterburn and fun.

DS17 made varsity as a stopper and DS15 is on JV as a right mid fielder. Both happy in how it worked out.

Off to a bowling banquet for DD20. Another meal out. I really want to eat at home. Won't get to eat at home this weekend either as we leave on Fri to get there by 9 to get some sleep before getting up at 4:30 to race at 6:00 am. Sun. we are having a going away/birthday party for DD18 before she leaves for college with enchiladas, chips and soda after tubing and knee boarding. Bon Fire after dark. Should be fun. Got called in to work for a few hours tomorrow also. Not the best time for that but can't turn down hours.

Off to get ready. If I don't get on again before I leave, wish me luck. I don't know how ready I am for this race.

Have a great day.

Morning Ladies,

Today was KCM's 30MTF Weights Biceps, Triceps & Shoulders and S90 Ultimate Ball. :D

Sam, I'm loving this weather also, just wish it would stay around for the weekend. ;) You are exercising so that is the most important thing. :)

Karen, Congrats to those DS's of yours, that is great. Sounds like you are going to be busy for the rest of this week. Good luck on Saturday, I'm sure you will do better than you think you will. ;) Our DD doesn't have to go for another couple of weeks, but that sounds like a great idea for a send off party.

Have a great day!

Hi ladies! This morning was a nice and cool 30mn walk with Ruby followed by S&H Legs/ Shoulders. My legs are not happy with me right now! That's a good workout though!

Karen, I surprised myself being able to run like that right from the start. And I know YOU will do awesome on Saturday! Might get a sore bumm though!;) Congrats for your boys and I hope your family has a great time Sunday!

Laurie, it is supposed to be cooler all weekend so you may get a reprieve on Sunday!

Can't believe I get to watch some football this weekend! :D

I'll check back later~ have a great day! Susan

Karen------good luck on your bike ride this Saturday! I am sending some energy your way:D.

Sam---I am glad Elliott i showing improvement.

Susan----SH legs is definitely one tough workout with those slow reps.

Laurie---we are enjoying some nice weather in the mid 80's this week too.

Yesterday was a rest day for me...no reason..just plain lazy!! This morning was Hiit 40/20. I was intending to do my push up challenge after the warm up and then go into the step portion, but I forgot and was into the step workout before I remembered. I am taking a rest now to cool off a little before doing the push ups. Gotta try to get them in this morning before I go to work. I have to do 20, 25, 15, 15, and at least 25. Does it sound like I am delaying my push ups this morning????? I AM

Morning Ladies,

Seems after a day at doggy daycare Cami doesn't feel like taking a walk in the mornings. Guess I will see how energetic she feels when I get home from work. ;) I got in S90 Tabata Inferno, and since I had some extra time Stretch Max Workout #2. :) I alway forget how the stability ball stretch is one of the better workouts on that DVD. Can't say that I enjoy the first one to much.

Susan, I will be very happy with this weather this weekend, just hoping that they are wrong on the rain for Saturday. ;) Have a great time this weekend.

heartymax, Get going on those push ups, that sure is a lot of them. ;)

Have a great weekend everyon,
