Buff Badgers Week of April 9th

Morning Ladies,

Hope you all had an enjoyable Easter. We had DH's parents and Uncle over for lasagna. Yes I know, very non traditional. ;) Since I had to be at church on Sunday morning at 5:45am, it was much easier to have something prepared before Sunday. Everyone loved it. Leftovers went with the oldest of course. :D

This morning I did Disc 38 Squat Rack Legs, yesterday I was just to tired. Saturday was STS Disc 30 Shoulders, Biceps & Triceps.

Have a great day!

Good morning! I hope everyone had a good Easter weekend. Friday I did Imax 2, and Saturday I did HIS from 4DS. I didn't work out yesterday, but I did eat lots of ham, potatoes, and candy... plus drank a ton of wine :D It was a good day. I also got to sing for three truly beautiful church services in the morning.

And now I'm off for the week! I'm seeing West Side Story with my mom tomorrow night, getting drinks with a friend on Wednesday night, driving my brother and SIL to O'Hare on Thursday morning (for the Boston Marathon!), and heading to Lake Geneva to meet Cathe on Friday! It's going to be a busy week! :)

Have a great day!

Hi There! I had a nice Easter weekend! Saturday I did Jillian's Killer Legs levels 1 & 2. That was a great workout! When I was doing level 2, I thought I must have accidently hit level 3, but then she made a comment about how tough it was and yes, it was only level 2! I have never done single leg burpees before. They are not fun! Sunday was a nice long walk with Ruby after the in-laws left.

Today I did Cathe's Intensity (no Bootcamp). I had not done step in a long time and I missed it!:D I had so much fun!:)

Laurie, I love lasagna and I don't care holiday or no holiday! I found a recipe in FitnessRX for a slowcooker version I am thinking of making this week.

Sam, what a busy week you have planned - hope you get some rest in before Cathe gets a hold of you!;) I envy you and hope you have a blast!

See you tomorrow! Susan

I got back home yesterday and a had a great Easter visiting my family. I did After Burn on Saturday. This morning was Mix and Match premix of Cardio Blast (minus the repeat of one of the 6 minute sections) for an awesome 75 minute workout. I rarely do that much cardio but I need it after the circuit workouts last week. I will say it felt much easier maybe the results of all the Hiit Training from last weeks AfterBurn:D.

Susan---Cathe does some one leg burpees but I can't remember which workout they are in. I modify of course, so maybe that is why I can't remember. I remember seeing that segment just recently.

Sam--you must be soooo excited about the RT. I wonder how my DH would react if I told him I wanted to go on one. He would probably think I am nuts even though he knows how much I love my workouts----not sure if he would understand my desire for a RT...LOL!

Laurie----I love lasagna but I hardly ever make it. DH likes it but won't eat much of it and boys don't eat it. So, I may eat some at a restaurant sometimes.

Hi Sue!

Okay ladies----12 weeks until my next vacation. I really need to kick up a few notches now.

Good morning! I am staying home with DS today. He woke during the night with a bad case of the stomache flu - not good! I will be doing Jillian's No More Trouble Zones in a bit.

Heartymax, so glad you had such a nice time! :) Yes, Summer is fast approaching and I too was thinking it's time to kick it up a notch- especially with my diet!:p

I had about 35 fitness magazines scattered throughout the house because there was always a routine in them I wanted to keep. I decided to take a binder, go through all the mags and tear out the articles I liked and then I organized them in the binder: lower, upper, abs, total body, and pilates. I also have a pocket for "diets" and recipies! Much easier to lug around than 35 magazines! I am thinking of next month creating a routine that utilizes the workouts in my binder...

Have a great day ladies- I will check back in later!

Susan

Good morning! I did not get a workout in yesterday. I just finished up Jari's Ripped to the Core. I skipped the abs because DH had to get ready for work, so I will do some abs on my own later today.

I plan to do some tough cardio (maybe Afterburn?) tomorrow morning, and then take Thursday off so I'm well rested for 6 workouts over the weekend

Heartymax- DH was so sweet about the RT. He's actually using his "share" of the family income to pay for it. But... I think he still thinks I'm a bit nuts :p The rest of my family definitely thinks so!

Susan- Gah! One-legged burpees again! I probably can't escape them for too long, they seem to be popping up in lots of workouts. Perhaps I'm destined for some this weekend? So sorry you have stomach flu in your house again! Sanitize, sanitize, sanitize!

Laurie- I haven't had traditional lasagna in ages... sounds delicious. We always get together at dinner time on Easter because of church. It's just too hard for everyone to be together and ready to eat in the early afternoon. Same thing for Thanksgiving.

Egg salad for dinner tonight! It's an annual thing to use up all those eggs we dyed. I always look forward to it, but I only really enjoy egg salad on old-fashioned white bread. Oh well, the eggs are good for me, right?

Have a great day!

Morning Ladies,

This morning was STS Disc 31 Chest & Back.

Sam, Sounds like a nice week you have going before the RT. :) Yum, love egg salad. So does the family, I make it every once in a while for dinner. My youngest would probably eat eggs for every meal if I let her. :D Of course the egg salad is enhanced with the good homemade bread. ;)

Susan, Single leg burpees fun! You do like to be punished, don't you. :D I have done that with my mags also, it really helps for recipes also. Sounds like you could have a solid plan for a rotation. The only thing I don't like about some of those workout, is they use equipment from the gym.

heartymax, We are going on vacation in about 10 weeks. My MIL is paying for our airline tickets to FL. We where going to drive down, but she insists that we take this gift. Now I want to get kicking also. What have you planned for your rotation?

Have a wonderful day!

Hi all! Not much to report workout-wise. I did High Reps on Sunday and went for a walk last night. DH has a buddy staying over to help with planting a tree which has prevented me from working out the last couple of days. I'll be glad when he goes home tonight - both so I can workout and also to have my house back. DH knows this guy creeps me out so he tries to keep him entertained and give me my space, but still I'll be glad when he's gone.

The weekend was hectic capped off by DD's trip to the ER Saturday night. She had an earring backing stuck inside her ear which was freaking her out (not to mention painful) and Urgent Care was closed. The ER then proceeded to "lose us" when they escorted us to room 12 but marked down we were in room 13. After an hour and a half of waiting, I stuck my head out and asked someone if they forgot about us "Oh, no" the nurse reassured me. "It's all entered in the computer." I asked her to check with our nurse and a few minutes later the head nurse came down to 1) Ask us if we used the restroom (like we went back to the wrong room so translation OUR FAULT). No, we hadn't left the room. She then apologized over and over. I was exhausted by then at 9:30 p.m. and DD had a terrible headache. Never, never again will I go to Waukesha Memorial ER. DH had a bad 6 hour ordeal there in 2008 when he went in with 2 broken elbows.

Needless to say, I'm really, really looking forward to being off the rest of the week starting tomorrow. :D

I'll be back tomorrow to catch up with what everyone has been doing. Lunch is over and I have lots to get done yet today.

Sue---High Reps is my favorite total body workouts. Cathe did an awesome job with it. The only thing I don't like about it is the warm up. I prefer to do some regular cardio moves for my warm up and not go directly into lifting light weights as a warm up. I usually just make up my own warm up for this workout. Sorry to her of your frustration with the emergency room. You never know what to expect in places like that. Hope DD is better today.

Laurie---what a lovely gift from your inlaws. You will definitely enjoy the sunshine.

Sam---I have never made egg salad but I have eaten an egg sandwich or two in my day. You quickly reminded me of one I had a few months ago on some delicious bread yummy! I like boiled eggs to and eat them several mornings for breakfast if I dont eat the traditional wheat toast with peanut butter. I am always looking for something fast and easy that I don't have to stand there for too long and fix.

Susan----Love your idea of just hanging on to what you need instead of the whole magazine. I have also started keeping a folder in the kitchen drawer that has all my recipes in from the websites that I use. I would find my self searching for the recipe again the next time I wanted to cook it so I started keeping a folder with them. I even noticed DH cooked something one day and pulled out the folder to find the recipe for it because he couldn't remember all the ingredients.

Yes what ladies----DH got on the elliptical for 30 minutes yesterday. I was so proud of him. He needs to lose at least 15 pounds.

This morning I dusted off :D Imax 3 for another great cardio workout. My shoulder is bothering me so I am staying away from the weights for a few days and see how it goes.

Morning Ladies,

This morning was Weider X-Factor ST Week 3 and Ab Ripper 200.

Sue, Enjoy your time off, and I'm glad that the guy left so you can really enjoy. So sorry to hear about the ER experience. I have gone to Waukesha a couple of time. Of course both times where in an ambulance. :( So I guess we got different treatment than someone just coming into the ER. What you all went to the bathroom at the same time?

heartymax, Congrats to your DH, wish mine would do something....anything exercise related. :( You are a brave worman to dust off Imax3. I think Sam now has my copy. :D

Have a wonderful day!

Hello! Today was the elliptical for 4.2 miles. Wish it would warm up more outside! I am tired of the cold mornings..

Sue, enjoy your days off! My DD had that happen to her, but I dug it out myself! Took me a while but she was a trooper. This was about 4 years ago.

Heartymax, way to go on IMAX3! :D My DH has been getting on the elliptical 3-4 nights a week for 30mn. His work is offering anyone who does this a chance to win an Ipod or Ipad! I also think he likes how he feels after. He says he'd like to lose about 10 pounds before Summer.

Have a great day ladies! DS is back at school and I am back to work!;)

Susan

Laurie - I love lasagna but never make it because the kids don't like it (weird kids, I know). We had chili at our Easter Dinner. I think you're right about ambulances receiving preferential treatment in ERs. I could sense a bit of "tude" from the treage (or is it triage?) nurse like we were wasting his time.

Sam - Good plan to rest up on Thursday before the RT. You'll be plenty sore on Sunday!

Heartymax - DD is fine. She waited a couple of days before trying to put an earring back in and now she is using backings with big plastic disks that can't possible get swallowed up in her ear lobe again. I haven't done Imax 3 in ages. In fact, I hardly ever get my step out for cardio any more and I used to love it.

Susan - I was afraid I'd rip the ear lobe and create a bigger problem if I tried to pull it out. DD would barely let me touch it anyway. She is not good with pain. Has to work up her courage to get a shot.

I did 30 MTF Circuit Burn Combined Workout premix this morning. I love Kelly's 60 second cardio blasts. She always comes up with such fun combos you forget how hard you're working. A little light on the weights so I think I'll do a full body weight workout tomorrow.

Today is DD's 17th birthday. Can't believe she's almost an adult. We rented a Red Box movie she wanted to see last night and bought her cake already. I should have made a homemade one but this is so much easier! Now we have time to do other stuff today like shopping for a Confirmation outfit.

I'm proud of all these husbands getting on the elliptical and working out! Wish my DH would do that.

Good afternoon, everybody. I just finished up the Mixed Cardio Premix from Cardio Fusion, which was basically the cardio drills from Drill Max and the WU and CD from Body Max2. I hadn't done this one before and it was my first exposure to Drill Max, which I don't own. Yikes! I'm glad I'm taking off tomorrow.

Anybody know of any good inserts for shoes? I don't have money for a really good pair of shoes right now, and mine are decent, but the cushioning in them just isn't adequate. I have sort of flat feet, and my arches and the balls of my feet really hurt when I have to do lots of jumping.

Sue- I would freak out if I got an earring back stuck in my earlobe! I can. not. stand ERs or Urgent Care clinics at all. I hate waiting, MA's are often really rude, and sometimes the doctors act like you're wasting their time, too. And then the bill comes.... Yuck! Sorry you had to go. Happy B-day to your DD!

Susan- We got spoiled with the lovely weather a few weeks back. I took DS to a playground yesterday because he begged to, but it was so cold, he didn't want to stay long.

Heartmax- WTG on Imax 3! I do have Laurie's old copy and haven't worked up the courage to do the whole thing yet. I've only done the first half and the "combos only" premix.

Laurie- How nice of your MIL to pay for your tickets. That's definitely something to look forward to!

The egg salad was tasty! Every year I make it and tell myself we should have it more often, but I always forget about it. Tonight it Edamame Lo Mein. Yum!

I have to shower and take Elliot to the groomer, then I'm off to Target with DS to buy some last minute items for the RT! AHHH! It's so close!

Sam, I have some arch/cushioning insoles. I believe they are Dr. Sholes or an equivalent. They give me just the right amount of cushioning when I am jumping. I think they are "sport insoles" or something like that!

Sam---You are I are doing similar workouts this week. I did the Mix and Match from Cardio Fusion earlier this week. WHEW!!! Have fun on the RT. I can't wait to hear about it.

Sue--buying a cake was just fine! I am sure DD loved the quality time you all spent together.

Hi Laurie and Susan!

Today was Lower Body Blast. My shoulder is feeling a little better but not 100% but I managed to do a few push ups too. I will just take it somewhat easy on the weights the rest of the week and start my next rotation on Monday. I was looking at the 3 month Transformation Rotation from January. It is basically STS and LIS. It doesn't look like it has a enough cardio in it for me and I think I need to increase my cardio for the next few months. I will decide this weekend and start my new rotation on Monday.

Morning Ladies,

No workout for me, I have gotten my youngests cold. No use taxing the body that way. I was scheduled to do plyo legs, but I don't think the cardio portion is something that I need to try to do. I will do the STS upper body workout tomorrow, and probably the squat rack legs on Saturday.

Susan, I to would like it to warm up a bit, why did it have to tease us in Feb like that. :( We are suppose to be getting rain this weekend, so even though we need the rain it will be cold I'm sure. :p

Sue, Happy Birthday to you DD! They do grow up fast, that is for sure. My girls didn't like lasagna until recently. I think it might be the texture of the ricotta cheese (I use that vs cottage cheese). They both love it now though. KCM's workouts are keepers for sure.

Sam, I'm so excited for you going on the RT! Will be thinking of you this weekend. ;) I can't give you any advice on the inserts, my youngest has some because she has flat feet. Those she got from the trainer at school.

heartymax, Good to hear that your shoulders is feeling better. Those injuries can get so much worse if you don't take it easy. ;) Hope you are able to find a rotation that will work for you.

Have a wonderful day!

Hello! Today was MMA Kickbox. Was going to sleep in but a lil' voice kept telling to move it. Glad I listened!:)

Sue, Hope your DD enjoyed her Birthday! Time does fly by doesn't it? Can't believe my DD will be driving soon!

Sam, I am so excited and jealous for you! If you get a chance give Cathe a squeeze from me!

Heartymax, I find shoulder soreness to be the worst. Mine can get hurt so easily it seems, I really have to watch it.

Have a great day ladies! Susan

Happy Friday! Today was the AfterBurn premix which you do each interval one time. I had to pause to do the lunge kicks on the other side because that is the one segment which Cathe's goes through the routine on the right first then left the second time around so I would have only worked one side. I added on the pyramid down of Pyramid Upper Body. OUCH---a burner as always. Did the ab section of PUB too so I can say that I had a good workout.

Tomorrow should be the elliptical. Last night, I came back to post the rotation that I am going to start on Monday. Looking forward to it.

Susan---love those morning inner voices that drag us out of bed some mornings:eek:

Laurie---I don't have squat rack legs. Didn't realize that you had it. Your legs should be screaming with that one.

Have a great weekend. I will check back in later to see what everyone did for the day. Enjoy!
