Buff Badgers Week of April 8th

I got back home on Saturday night and it felt good to be back in my own bed. On Sunday I did 45 minutes on the elliptical. This morning was STS Disc 1 Chest, Shoulders and Biceps followed by the core section of HC vol. 2. By skipping the warm up, leg work and cool down I think the workout was about a 20 minute add on or maybe less. I have decided that my body needs a round of STS in preparation for the summer so I am gearing up for the 3.5 rotation.

The weather was so nice yesterday and it is supposed to be nice 77 degrees today. Finally---feels like spring.

Good Morning,

Sat. I did Tabatacise and yesterday I did HoCo 101 yr. 2 and Bum Bum high and tight band portion and Burn sets Chest. Today I am doing Imax 2.

Heartymax, do you put on muscle well with heavy lifting? I need to do an STS rotation again soon. I love the results I am getting from HoCo and Born to Move with running and other Hiit or tabata cardio thrown in. Our weather did not get above 37 yesterday and was cloudy. Today is raining. When will spring come. Sat. we even got more snow/sleet. I'll bet is was good to back in your own bed.

Enjoy your day.

Hello! Saturday was To The Max and Sunday was a 45mn hike. Today will be S90 Tabata. Over slept this morning so it will be done after work!:(

Have a very hectic week ahead so may not post daily.

Brenda, glad you had a nice trip. It's alway s good to come back to your own bed! Wish it was 77 here! We get 33 degrees and a snow storm coming in a few days!

Hi Karen! :D

Have a great day everyone! ~ Susan

Good morning. Thursday was a mixed bag: I did the no-ankle-weights standing section of Legs and Glutes, then did Burn Sets back, then did the floor work from XTrain Legs. Friday was no workout, Saturday I went for a nice, brisk walk with the dog, and even ran the last 1/2 mile or so. Sunday was no workout.

DH's aunt, the one who was diagnosed with cancer only three weeks ago, passed away on Saturday night. The funeral is Wednesday in Missouri, so I think DH will be going down there with his mom and DS and I will stay behind. The whole thing is so sad. She was one of my favorite people on his side of the family. Her husband is too, and I don't know how he's going to manage now.

I'm not sure if I'll get in a workout today. DS is sick with a cold. He was so congested he threw up this morning :(. I also have to drive my BIL to the airport later, which I don't mind, but it's another thing to work around.

Heartymax- No matter how great the weather is elsewhere, it's always good to come home :)

Susan- I hope you're able to relax a little this week.

Karen- You're really focusing on lower body work. I bet you are getting some excellent results. I'm usually so focused on upper body that lower tends to be an afterthought.

I ate terribly this weekend. Time to clean it up today. No sugar! Have a great day, everyone.

Good Afternoon!!!

Had a wonderful weekend. Friday I did Cardio SuperSets and added on some of the floor work from All Out Low Impact Hiit from XTRain. Saturday I did 4DS Bootcamp, Bi's and Tri's. This morning I went with High Reps. My tri's were still fried from Saturday.

Friday morning we had a scare with DH's dad. He called from the hospital and told us that he thinks he had a heart attack. Long story short, he wasn't even close to having one, thank goodness but scared the living daylights out of us. I wanted to kick his butt though for driving himself to the hospital. DH's mom was in PA visiting her granddaughter so he was home alone. The fire dept is literally right across the street from them.

Heartymax - I bet it was nice to be back home. I'll take the 70's with the temps we've been having. I'm anxiously waiting for our temps to warm up and actually feel like spring.

Susan - Good job on the workouts. Hope your week isn't too hectic.

Karen - It's funny you guys mention STS, when I was wondering what the heck to do this week, STS had crossed my mind.

Sam - So sorry to hear about DH's aunt. That is so sad. Do you think once it starts getting a little nicer outside that you'll start running again?

OH... almost forgot about my news...... :D not even close to forgetting. So, for the past year I've been doing home/online schooling to become an ACE certified personal trainer and I had my exam on Friday and I'm EXTREMELY HAPPY to say I PASSED!!! I'm officially a certified personal trainer. I had hardly told anyone because I was afraid of the failure part in case I didn't pass the exam. So now I would like to find a PT job doing that and eventually would like to get into the fitness/health industry full time if at all possible. That's my news! :)

Enjoy the rest of your day!
Brenda

This morning was Xtrain All Out Lo Hiit. My calves are in DOMS today. Yesterday was an upper body workout so I am trying to figure out why. I was on the elliptical on Sunday and maybe those burpee move on the step in HC topped off my calves and sent them singing hello---I'm not sure. Meanwhile, I was determined to kick it in gear and get in my workout anyway today.

Gotta run because I need to pack my healthy lunch.

Hi, Today I am doing BTM workoutb 2 and the Dynamic Stretch. Love the Dynamic stretch.

Heartymax, HoCo sneaks up on you. Nice job kicking it in.

Brenda, I bet your tris are screaming. Glad DH husband didn't have a heart attack. What a scare. Congrats. on getting certified. Nice job. That is what I always wanted to do. I am so happy for you.

Sam, nice leg workout. Sorry to hear about your DH aunt. That sure went fast. Hugs. Hope DS is feeling better today. I work my legs a lot hoping when I run I will not hurt in my hips and knees. I am trying to strengthen them. Hope it works. Did it feel good to run again?

Susan, nice workouts. The hike sounds like fun. Did you get your workout in?

Hi Laurie, I hope you are still feeling well.

Have a great day.

Hi ladies. Well, Tabata did not happen last night, because after I ate my lunch yesterday (steamed broccoli and tuna) I got really sick. My stomach was a mess! Came home and layed around. This morning I felt good enough to do Tabata and tonight I hope to get in Cathe's Hi Reps.

Brenda: CONGRATULATIONS! :D I am so happy for you! How long did the course take you? Way to go!

Sam, sorry to hear about the Aunt. Never easy.... Hope DS is feeling better today!

Take care ladies~ Susan

Good Afternoon!

This morning I did one of my long time favorite workouts...KPC without the crunch part since I did abs yesterday. I missed doing that workout.

Heartymax - WTG on the workout despite having DOMS in your calves.

Karen - My tri's are still talking to me today. :) It's all good though.

Susan - Tabata the day after having an upset stomach... .you go girl!! The course took me a little over a year and that's only because of my lack of time to dedicate to it. They recommend 3 to 6 months but that is dedicating the majority of your time to it. There was a lot to learn and still so much more to learn. I'm very much looking foward to it!

Hi Sam!
Hi Laurie!

Take Care!
Brenda

Good afternoon, ladies. It took me awhile to get in my workout on this gloomy day, but I finished Athletic Training a little while ago. I'm so glad I chose that workout, it knocked all the cobwebs out of my head.

DH left this morning for Missouri. I'm pretty bummed about it. We aren't apart very much, and my evening will feel very strange. But, I think I'll get a bottle of pink wine, watch the old version of Pride and Prejudice for the millionth time and make the best of it :D

DS seemed to have an actual stomach bug yesterday. He had a 102 degree fever most of the day. But when he got over it, boy did he get over it! He was up, demanding food, and zooming around the house :)

Brenda- Congratulations! I had an inkling that was your big news. I remember you talking about it a little on the road trip and mentioning it to Cathe. How exciting! Any idea where you'll look for a job?

Susan- Sorry you felt bad yesterday. You and DS both recovered very quickly. I bet he would've done tabata too, if he knew what it was :)

Karen- It did feel good! But I think I'm more of a sprinter than a distance runner. I think I'll probably run sprints this summer, or just very short distances, nothing more than two miles. I bet Tonique is great for building endurance.

Heartymax- I do not like lower leg DOMS at all. I hope they loosen up fast.

Thank you for the kind words about DH's aunt. I just wish there was something I could do to help her husband.

Have a great day, everyone. If you're around here, try to stay dry. My goodness, it's nuts out there!

Karen-----I get better results from STS than any other rotation. I definitely but on some muscle but Meso 2 gets the muscles popping (well---not popping popping, but you know what I mean):D. I have never done the 1RM and I am still pleased with my results.

Sam---Sorry for your family's loss. Hope that glass of wine helped you sleep.

Brenda---Congrats on your certification. That is so awesome!

This has been a very busy week! It is supposed to be 90 degrees today----what happened to SPRING??? I'm not complaining though.

Yesterday I received the Exemplary Employee award from the school system and board of education. Each school gets to recognize one employee a year and I was chosen by my school principal so I was very excited. It was such an honor to go down to the board to be recognize for all my hard work. I almost in tears listening to the great things that my principal said about me during his speech.

Today's workout was STS Disc 2 Back and Triceps. Summer time is approaching so I am glad that I have decided on this round of STS. I need to lean out a little right now.

Morning Ladies,

I really have not done any type of workout since Aunt Flow showed up again! You can tell that my body hasn't fully recovered yet, because I sure do feel crappy when that rolls in. I'm feeling good today, but will see how it goes by the time I get home. ;) Really busy here at work also, and I don't know how much time I'm going to be around next week. I am in another lean workout next week. :( Apparently every group that is doing something related to Total Productive Maintenance wants me to be on there team, so that means I am going to be super busy. I like being busy, but this is getting crazy. I don't know if I will be able to keep this up all year.

heartymax, I think Meso 2 is the best of the three. I really need to look at pulling those out again. I just can't stand having all that equipment littering my floor. :D

Sam, I know how you feel about the DH being gone. My DH gets back tomorrow from Vegas tomorrow. I'm hoping that I will be able to go with him next year. It is difficult to do with a child still at home. I wish my parents lived closer to us. ;) I know Brian's mom would come and stay, but his dad is disabled so it doesn't work to good.

Brenda, Congratulations on the ACE Certification! My oldest dd is interested in doing that. I told her she should start after school is done, but we will see how that goes.

Susan, So sorry to hear that you got sick from your lunch. Hate when I'm not feeling up to par, it just makes me feel like I'm failing. I know that I need to get my body back to proper health, but it sure is taking is time. ;)

Karen, I guess you must have known that I wasn't up to par if I wasn't on line. :D I just want to do more than my body will let me right now.

Have a great day!

Good morning! I'm still sweating like crazy and flying high from Crossfire :D That first fitness blast has a bit of a dread factor for me, but once I get through that section I feel great (and my 180 degree turning squats are much closer to 90 degrees ;))

Laurie- Is your DH named Brian? Mine is Bryan :) I've never been to Vegas. I want to go, but my DH tells me it wasn't his thing. Right about now I'd settle for going ANYWHERE warm. Bummer about work. I hate it when things get so busy.

Heartymax- Nice plan to get those arms in shape for summer. I need to lean out myself, but I can't seem to stick to a plan. This week I've just been randomly choosing a workout when I get to the basement. Congratulations to you on your award. That's awesome!

DS ended up sleeping with me last night. That's the first time since he was a year old and had a fever. He's had a lot of bad dreams lately, and I guess he figured if DH wasn't there he could sneak in. I must confess I didn't mind at all.

Have a great day, everyone.

Good Afternoon!!

This morning I did HC Vol 2 followed with 100 jacks, 50 ski hops, 100 jacks, 50 air squats and then I did the cool down. I had to modify some of the plank work where she's gliding the leg around; my left hip locked and couldn't do it so I did what I could. I have a feeling my abs will be talking to me tomorrow. It's all good though. :)

Sam - I'm not a fan of those turning squats. I always dread those darn things. When my DH is gone I don't mind having a day or two to myself as long as I get to talk to him but then beyond that I'm always glad when he's back home. Thankfully he doesn't travel too much for work. I wasnt' sure if you were going to remember that I had mentioned that on the RT. Can you believe that was a year ago we met at the RT... man that was sooooo much fun!!!

Heartymax -Send some of those warm temps our way. I'm so tired of the cold and rain. Heck at this point, I'd even deal with the rain just give us some warmer temps. I love STS. I might pull that out again sometime soon. Congrats on your award!! That's awesome!

Laurie - Things finally aren't as crazy at my work. Still super busy but not as out of control as it's been for way too long. So, I feel your pain. One thing I can recommend to your dd is to get her degree in exercise science or kinesiology on top of getting certified at a accredited association. That's where I still have lots to learn yet with being a PT.

Enjoy the rest of your day and pray for warm temps and sun! :D

Brenda

Sam----My 180 degree turns are more like yours too.....so I completely understand. I no longer even make an effort to do 180 degrees.:D. I also think finishing up a round of STS will be nice since I'll be going to the roadtrip in July.:D

This morning was Hiit 30/30....well some moves were more like 25/35.. but I make it through. I followed it up with 15 minutes of the core only from HC vol. 2.

Hi, Yesterday I did Ultimate Yogi Yin lots of long stretches held for 3-5 min. It is amazing how hard it is to hold a stretch that long when you are not that flexible. Today I am doing xtrain ride.

Have a good day.

Yesterday was Pilates and today was Cross Fire.

Brenda, how are your abs doing today? ;)

Sam, I love Cross Fire and my 180 turns are well, not as great as Cathe's!

Laurie, sorry to hear life is going to be so hectic! Make sure you take care of YOU and rest. We don't want you getting sick!;)

Gotta go pack my lunch!

Have a great day (even though it's rainy, dreary and miserable..)~Susan

Good morning! DH comes home today! I'm so excited :) I'm going to get the house cleaned up since I... um... neglected it while he was gone , and I will try to squeeze in HoCo Volume 2 at some point.

I will check in again tomorrow. Have a great day!

Good Afternoon!!

This morning I went with HiiT 30/30 and followed that with the cardio drills from Drill Max. I was dripping wet with sweat.

Heartymax - Must have been a day for 30/30. Some of mine were more like 30/35. I need some extra breathing time after the air jacks and tuck jumps.

Karen - I really need to spend more time stretching. I always feel so much better afterwards. I always focus on the calorie burn first.

Susan - OMG...... my abs are so talking to me. I recall times where my abs were sore but nothing like this. I didn't know a person could feel those deeper core muscles. It hurts to cough or sneeze. :) I'm okay with it though.

Sam - I hope DH has a safe trip home. Have fun with your workout!

Enjoy the rest of your day!
Brenda

Happy Friday! Man, this week took forever! Today was S90 Total Body. :)

No big plans for the weekend. Kids have eye appointments in the morning. I hope to do PlyoX before we go .

Sam, hope hubby made it home safe and sound. ;)

Brenda, hope your DOMS are a bit better today!

Have a great weekend ladies! Susan
