Buff Badgers Week of April 6th

Good Morning Brenda.

I posted on Saturday but figured you may not see it. I was away on spring break last week. We traveled to celebrate my mom-in laws 91st birthday and I visited some old coworkers that I had not seen in years as well as a college tour for my oldest who will be a senior next year. It was nice to enjoy some warm temps down south.

Glad you had your hip checked out to make sure it was nothing major going on. I had tendinitis in my hand a few months ago and had to visit the doctor. After wearing a brace on it for a few weeks it felt much better. I am sure that is nothing compared to the pain you are feeling though. I hope your husband continues to progress and get his strength back.

I decided to do a little STS so I started with disc 1 on Saturday followed by some elliptical cardio. Sunday was To the Max and Today was Disc 2 back and triceps. My triceps are definitely not as strong but I know I will easily get them back there.

Hi Hearty!

91 years old.. that's awesome! Sounds like you had a nice time away. I'm patiently waiting for the warmer temps to come to Wisconsin.

Saturday I did Low Impact Circuit and had a good workout. Sunday was my rest day so did some stretching but not much. I spent the majority of the afternoon looking for a timer I could use with my tablet to use for the classes I'll be teaching in May. I have one routine for each class put together so far. It's hard because I have to think of the range of people that will be taking the class and how they can modify the exercise if they need to.

This morning I did RWH Low Impact one and two. I have issues with the mountain climbers in that one. Puts too much strain on the front of the hip so the second time she did them, I did something else.

I was thinking about pulling out STS as well but I'm going to hold off. I won't do the entire rotation maybe just some stuff from Meso 1 & 2.

Did you tell us that you were going on a RT again? Are you doing FL?

Have a great day!

That is so awesome! Someday I want to get over to her studio and workout with her in her live Thursday class. When is the NJ RT?

I don't know if you heard of Kellman Beat Cancer Bootcamp but the lady that started it is in AZ and to hold the classes in my area, I would have to form a Chapter. One big problem with that is that there is a licensing fee of $5000, which I can't afford. I tried contacting one medical facility so far to see if they would sponsor me. So far no call back. There is another chapter in Wisconsin and that is what the lady that coordinates it did. She had the upper hand because she works for the facility that sponsored it. Then I was invited to Nashville for an event that she is in and she's doing the warm up for their Sunday morning class. I could have met other chapter leaders and I think it would have been awesome to go but I can't. I have my Saturday morning class that I will be teaching which starts May 9th so I wouldn't feel right about missing a class a month after I start. Plus I still have the issue of my dear cat Bandit who won't let anyone else but me give him his insulin shots. If you have any good ideas about how I could get $5000 to form a chapter in my area, I'd love to hear it.

This morning I did RWH Chest, Shoulders, and Tri's and abs. My butt is feeling yesterdays workout.

Enjoy your day!

I was up late watching the basketball game last night so I slept in and didn't get up to workout. I wanted Wisconsin to win. I love watching college basketball.

I wish you luck in finding a sponsor. That is a hefty licensing fee. Sorry but I don't have any ideas.

The NJ trip is the last weekend of July. I must admit that being at the studio was amazing. Cathe's gym is phenomenal. People walk around the gym like they have no idea that Cathe is this icon like we see her. I was surprised that the gym/equipment area wasn't packed any of the days. That place is huge and has so much equipment and a walking track, etc. We had all meals in the area that was visible to the set where she records so the first time I walked it was that room was just an experience itself. My first RT is a time that I will never forget.

This morning was STS disc 3 legs. I kept my weights in my hand on those sliding back lunges:). I added on some leg lifts using DH weight machine instead of doing the chair exercises at the end. Then I wrapped up with a variety of plank moves that I could remember from Horizontal Conditioning (no need to pop in the DVD for a few minutes). I hope I can walk tomorrow---especially since i missed my cardio yesterday. I can't afford a rest day tomorrow---but I will have to see what my legs say about that.

My first RT was an amazing experience. I can just imagine how it was being in her gym. Someday I will get there. :)

Hearty - how are the legs feeling today. I haven't done a leg workout since surgery. With all the low impact I've been doing, heck there are lots of time my legs feel it from that yet alone an actual leg workout. I'm hoping once I can start doing some impact I'd like to gradually get back into a leg day. I thought that was a pretty hefty licensing fee as well. You get quite a bit with it but still. I don't know if she went with the flat fee so she didn't have to mess around dealing with royalties. Not sure.

Have a great day!

I haven't been doing a lot of leg workouts either so I know my body should respond well. My knees don't like much heavy weight.

Today was a short premix from Cross Fire and 20 minutes of elliptical cardio followed by a variety of planks. Great workout.
