Anyone around today?

Did Lowmax on an 8" step this morning. It's only the 3rd time or so I've done it at 8 - usually I do step at 6. It's a major calorie burner at 8 - 600 calories on my HRM compared to approx. 450 for RS. Yowza! Resting yesterday really helped me push myself hard today.

Anyone going to do Cathe's December rotation? I think I'm going to stick with the Gym Styles for a few weeks and do my own thing.

Marie - Take care of your neck. I like Christmas music, too. It's muzak or anything by Barbara Streisand I can't stand.

Is Jill MIA again?

Have a great day everyone!

Sue - great workout! DH and I would agree with you on not being able to stand Barbara!!

Where is everyone today??? And yes it has been awhile since Jill has posted but there are others that haven't been around in awhile. Any BBs reading this - at least stop in and say "hi".

Cynthia - any other hints on how to avoid my neck problem? You can email me if you do. I went through the PT sessions last year and they could never pinpoint what was causing it or even the starting point. Kind of like the right shoulder blade and then up into the neck and head. The PT helped though cause I got regularly massages that helped keep things lose but was sure hoping for more insight to avoid future episodes. They couldn't even give me stretches cause it is such a weird and elusive spot. Probably general stretching/yoga would help but my last preference in how to spend workout time. At least while you are waiting to start working, you can get more settled and be ready for the holidays.

Hi BBs,

Yes, sure is quiet on the BB front. I did intervals 4-7 of Lowmax this am, followed by SS. You are right Sue, 8 inches is hard!!!

Just a quick check in today, busy at work! Have a good day everyone.

Hi Everyone!

Did the first 2 segments of Christi's Hi/Low Heaven (50 min. That's it today. Need to get some things done today.

Marie: I would get that checked out soon, especaily if you have some pain. Could it be a rotator cuff problem? I worked with a gal that had the same symptoms and it ended up being her rotator cuff. I wouldn't lift for awhile, you might do more harm. I feel pretty good with the cortisone injection I got this summer, but I'm still very careful. Son't let it go too long.

Sue: I don't do rotations, I would get too bored. I like to do my own thing too.

Off day tomorrow. Lots to get done!

Good workouts everyone!

Cynthia

Oh you guys! It's so nice to be asked about. :) I haven't checked in in awhile. I finally started working out again, but my job is insane. We hired a new person and guess who gets to train her? yup....so I've been spending more time at the office and can't hang out online too much. (Don't wanna make a bad impression lol).

My ankle has finally healed, and today I did a step circuit workout (Karen Voight Ultimate Step Circuit) and it didn't hurt at all. I'm so glad. But I will wear the stupid aircast for workouts for awhile yet.

I overate during the TG 4 day weekend and am working hard this week to drop the extra pounds.

I hope you all had a lovely holiday!

Hello,

I haven't worked out yet today. I'm hoping to do something later; I'm probably not going to go to class. Bad student! No, just a nervous dog mom. I had to take my Aussie, Chewy, to the vet for her dental work today. Unfortunately, he found that another one of her teeth had to be pulled so she'll probably be under the weather for a few days. She really broke my heart when I dropped her off — shaking, refused to go with the vet tech, pulled out of her collar and chased me out the door. Yes, I feel guilty :) But it's for her own good! I can pick her up in a couple of hours, which is why I'm not going to try to kill myself to get across town to class.

Marie, I hope you figure out a way to handle your neck problem. Those are always the worst injuries... the ones you can't quite reach to massage. Did you pinch a nerve? Take care of yourself.

Sue, I checked out the December rotation but will probably stick to mainly circuit and kickbox workouts for a few weeks. That's what I've been enjoying lately. And then in January I start training for my half marathon. Oh no!

Jill, I'm glad your ankle is improving. How's Mace?

Cheers,

Ellen

Ellen--he's doing great!! He's finally potty trained. YAHOOOOOO. Well mostly--he's had one potty accident in the last two weeks. No pooh accidents for over a month. :)

I haven't looked at the Dec. rotation. I'm not in any shape for a Cathe rotation. I've been slacking so much the last few months. I will get back to it though!

Jill - I guess we just need to talk about you to get you to show up! :)

The neck thing has been going on for years but is sporadic. Usually I can feel the tightness right where the neck and shoulder meet and only on one side. That is why I think I might be doing something that makes this tighten up. I go to the MD the beginning of Feb and will ask her about it. I know it isn't the rotator. I was also thinking of getting some sessions with a personal trainer to see if my form is ok or I can get some alternative exercises.

No Laurie today. That is odd.

Haven't heard from DH since Monday morning so getting anxious. I am sure needlessly but hearing his voice would sure help!
