BUFF BADGERS Wed 3/8

Cathlete
Morning BB's,

Today will be KPC and Tae Bo Abs & Glutes.

Spent $41 at the Partylite party last night. I purchased a new sent they have called teakwood and something else. I also got the tealight warmer. I have to buy things that aren't fruity. My DH can't stand them.

I'm another one that can't do the levitating. I'm going with the too tall also. At 5'8" my feet are always on the floor. :D Except when they are on the stability ball. But then I wish they where on the floor. ;-)

Have a great day!

Laurie

Oops! I started a new thread but had the wrong date, so I deleted it lol. Well I erased it--can we delete here?

Here's what I wrote:
Morning ladies! It's going to be a nice day today. Well nice for March anyway ha ha. :)

Today is pure cardio for me, no weights. I'm thinking of doing some step if my foot is okay. I walked on the TM last night and had to quit after about 15 minutes because my foot started hurting. I don't want to have to get another shot. :(

What's everyone else up to today?

Jill

Laurie, LOL @ no fruity candles. I'm the opposite! I can't stand anything flowery. Same for my shower gels. I have quite a Bath & Body Works collections, and no flower scents! Then my son gives me some really strong smelling flowery gel for my birthday. Of course I'm using it lol.

Hi there! I haven't the foggiest idea what I'll do today! I have to go to the doctor at 8 and then the dentsit at noon - yipee!!

I have been having a really hard time with exhaustion, irritability, dry skin, heart palpitations, fullness in my throat...the list goes on and on. It's been going on for a looonnnggg time but I just am not a complainer. I spoke with my Mom and she told me she and my older sister both have a hypothyroid and I should speak with my doctor. So I finally am going in to do that. I think I'd do anything just to feel normal again!

I hope all you have a great day. The weather seems to heading in the right direction! I think I'll probably take our dog for a nice long walk! Stay strong- Susan

Hi BBs,
Just a dancey workout this week but I got up. Yahoo!!! I did spin class last night so gradually feeling back on track or at least headed in the right direction.

Susan - also hypothyroid with a strong family history. It took quite a bit of talking to convince my then MD to even test me but she was surprised that I was hypo! My main symptoms were that I was always cold and always tired. Also trouble losing weight but that continues. :(

Jill - what happened to your foot? Any vacation destination yet?

Laurie - I love candles although don't burn them as much as I should. DH would get nervous if I went to a candle party. That new scent sounds interesting. I like vanilla and spicy scents like pumpkin, cinnamon.... I am short so what reason can I use for not levatating??? Maybe a combo of not enough arm strength and too much weight to lift!

Looks like a lot of rain but maybe that will clear out the snow faster. Less than 2 weeks until it is officially Spring!!! :)

Morning everyone,

It's so reassuring to find that there are others (who are I'm sure more fit than me) who can't levitate. I guess it's something to shoot for, although I'm not going to count on it.

Last night I did Imax2. Does anyone else modify on the one-legged "genie" hops? I just hop on both feet. I feel like those one-legged ones would kill my knees.

Got a letter from stupid WPS yesterday, our budget heating plan is going up AGAIN after going up in September already. Freaking stupid heating costs. I live in an old house and it is a KILLER. When Exxon has a year of record profits, I tend to get p.o'ed when I continue to get reamed for heating and gas costs. Rant over.

Have a good day, everyone! - Sarah

LOL did you guys see all the people posting to my "ignore" thread? :) Too funny.

Susan, based on what you've said, I would agree that a visit to your doctor is definitely called for. I sure hope you can find out what's wrong and get it fixed. :)

Marie, my foot started hurting in an odd place last year about this time. It's in the ball of my right foot, toward the outside two toes. It's just a constant pain, worse when I walk/put weight on it. I finally went to a podiatrist and found out what I'd suspected from internet research-I have what's called Morton's Neuroma. He gave me a cortisone shot (which was a bit painful too!) and it felt better for awhile, but then got bad again. It hasn't been giving me much trouble this winter because I haven't been working out much. But now that I started up again with daily workouts, it's starting to hurt. My mom had the same thing and had to have surgery to correct it. That will be my LAST option-I do not want to do that. I just have to try to be nice to it and do elliptical more for my cardio since the weight is more in the heel than the forefront of the foot.

Okay, that ends today's medical lesson. LOL

Sarah, I understand. My heating bills have been around $300 and I keep it COLD in my house. I am so looking forward to the lower bills in spring and summer. We don't use the AC much (much to my son's displeasure lol) so the bills are much lower. I was on the budget plan at one point, but they raised it up so high it just seemed like it wasn't helping.
Jill

Thanks for the understanding, Jill. This budget plan is really cheesing me off. We keep it at 64 degrees for long periods of the day, we've replaced many windows, we have a programmable thermostat, I really feel like we are doing our best to control use. I'm thinking the budget plan might not be for me, either. At least when I was off it I could look forward to the light usage months in summer since we don't run an air conditioner at all. Sigh. - Sarah

Good morning,

I brought clothes to work with me so I can run during my lunch hour. I don't usually take a lunch so it will be nice to get out. I have had no desire to get up at 5 a.m. the last few days, so I'm glad it's getting warmer out so I can run outside.

I can't levitate either! Honestly, I don't really try. I tried the first couple of times I did Core Max 1, but it was more painful than challenging. I'm not too tall though ;) I don't have a good reason.

Jill, I hope your foot feels better and that you don't have to do anything drastic for it.

Sarah, I always modify the one-legged genie hops in Imax 2. That's my least favorite combo in that workout. Sometimes I do power 15s on the step, and sometimes I do speed skaters. I just don't feel like I'm getting anything out of the genie hops. I'm probably not jumping high enough! Oh, and our heating bills have been sky high too, so you're not alone. Our house is old and needs new windows. It's also got a gas furnace, so we've been paying at least $250/month all winter. We don't have air conditioning so as soon as we turn off the furnace, our bills drop significantly.

Susan, I hope you figure out your medical issue. Hypothyroid runs in my family too. My aunts and grandmother felt much better once they got treatment for it.

Hi Marie!

Take care everyone,

Ellen

I'm back from the Doctor. She is testing me for hypothyroid. However she was most concerned with my low pulse rate(46). She felt that even though I workout a lot that is just too low unless I was a professional athlete. She took an EKG which showed I was normal. She feels now it may be slow low due to my thyroid. I tried to explain the workouts I do (Cathe) but she just didn't feel that those were going to be "tough enough" to signify such a low heart rate. My blood pressure was 96/100 but she wasn't as concerned about that. Well, at least I have her testing my blood... I should know more in a couple days.

I just find it humurous and a bit frustrating when people don't understand how hard we Cathe girls work out. As soon as I say home video they seem to automatically assume it's not tough! HA!

Susan

Just so you know if you are hypo they will gradually start you on meds so your first ones will not be a very high dose. THey need to gradually increase and that can be frustrating.

Susan - I'm also hypo and was tired all the time, constipated and gained 10 pounds in 4-5 months. Still struggling to lose the weight, too. I don't think a pulse rate of 45 is that unusual for people who workout to Cathe. I've seen other posts about resting HR and several people on the forum have low rates. Mine is around 54 so I'm envious. And DH who doesn't workout nearly as regularly as I do is about the same. Grrrrr! And yeah, most people don't understand about Cathe workouts. . .

Sarah/Ellen - I don't feel like the genie hops are very much either but my HR does climb during that interval. I think it's hard on my ankles, too, so I'm always glad when it's over.

Jill - Hope you don't need surgery for that foot.:-( And thanks for the medical lesson! Tonight I can tell my kids I learned something. LOL

Marie - Sounds like you've recovered from your TK training;-)

Laurie - $41 for a PartyLite party is getting off cheap! I don't light candles so much anymore since we got the cats. I have some nice battery-operated ones from QVC that I use.

I did GS Legs this morning. It's been awhile since I've done this one so hope I can walk tomorrow. Will try to do some kind of abs tonight also.

Have a great day!

Sue
