Hi,

Today was a rest day. I am soooooo sore from doing MM yesterday! My ankle did well yesterday, so just taking it slowly. Seriously, if you don't have to, DO NOT take two weeks off from Cathe, you will be so sore!

So, what do you think Cathe's big annoucements will be this week? New advanced workouts? I hope so! I hope she lets us know soon.

Just work on tap for me today, not too exciting. Jedi, if you do check in today, I hope you have a blast at the concert (and yes, we do have to get together soon!)!!

Hello BB's,

Today I have Leaner Legs and a 3 mile run on the rotation. I did the PS Upper Body last night and I have some good DOMS :D . We are probably the only people that think DOMS are good. All I know is it feels like I worked my upper body good.

Today is registration for youngest DD. Oldest DD has a dentist appointment also. This will be a busy night. I started getting them up early this week so they are prepared for the bus on Thursday!

Thea, I have been checking for the announcement. Hoping that we get the information soon. I am like a little kid, I want the information now!!! :+ Guess we will have to wait. ;(

Hi girls. Yay I remembered to check in early today!

Thea I hear ya on soreness from MM! My triceps are always feeling a little DOMS even without taking time off from Cathe. That is a great workout. Not sure what the big announcement will be. If it's more workouts, when the heck has she had the time to film them lately? And if they aren't filmed yet, I wish SNM would just wait until it's closer to release to announce them---some people get so anxious and all you see are posts asking when they're coming.

Speaking of which, I hear some people have gotten shipping notices for the new ones. I haven't yet, but I ordered on day 2 or 3 of the presale, so it should be soon I hope. I'm looking forward to them-I recently re-acquired Basic Step/Body Fusion and really like having them for the "easier" days.

Laurie-I usually think doms is good, too lol. But not today. My calves are so sore I don't know what I'll be able to do today. I had to take a rest day yesterday because of it. :( I do not want to do that again today. I'm hoping if I walk on the treadmill a little it will help stretch them out so I can at least do Basic Step or something not so hard. Good idea getting the kids up earlier already. I need to mention that to my 16 y/o. He still had the tv on last night when I went to bed at 11:30.

I have to go to the car dealer this morning to get my door handle fixed. ugh. I HATE sitting there doing nothing when I could be working out or getting caught up on work. Hopefully it will go fast.

Hello everyone,

This morning I did MIC and was supposed to do a Core Max but ran out of time. I'll probably add it on tomorrow. I'm looking forward to my rest day on Thursday; I've been sticking to my rotation, but I'm definitely feeling tired.

This will be a long day: a full day of work, of course, then getting over to MATC as fast as I can for my first class of the semester. I'm taking algebra, which I'm terrible at, but I'm determined to get a good grade. I took an easier level when I was getting my undergrad degree and did well enough, but for some reason my brain doesn't compute advanced algebra and trig very well. I have to have good grades in these prereqs to get into grad school though, so I'll do well if it kills me :)

The bathroom (tub and tile, at least) are done and life can return to normal for a little while. Not a wonderful experience but it looks good so I'm sure in time the bad memories will fade. Still more work to do but hopefully by someone else and less insane! AND LESS EXPENSIVE! Can't wait for Sept 1st to have money again!!!

I did Learn and Burn Turbo Jam this morning. Want to try another of them on Thursday but I think I will like this. I got my notice on the new Cathe's and I think I should have these by the end of the week.

I am also anxiously awaiting Cathe's announcement(s)! How cruel to tell us and then make us wait and wonder!!! :(

Laurie - What results have you had with the August rotation? You did a great job sticking with it! I need you as my trainer.

Ellen - good luck with Algebra. When I went back to college the one final class I needed was Intermediate Algebra. At that time it had been about 20 years since high school Algebra and that had been a struggle. BUT I ended up with a "C" so I was happy with that. So if I can do that I am sure you can too!
 
Today I'm going to do day 1 of couch to 5 K and I think either supersets or Push Pull. I get my permanent veneers on my teeth today at 12:50, so it will be a late afternoon workout. I'm nervous about my teeth, excited...but it's so much money I can't help but feel guilty - and I got them at 1/2 price!!! OUCH!

Marie - hopefully fil can help you...but I don't know if you would consider him more sane!! He's a burly harley dude and he's stubborn as the day is long...a perfectionist for sure. Which can be good and bad!!!

Tomorrow I'm starting to get up at my school year time to get in the routine of doing my workout before I leave for the day... That way if I do a walk or anything else after school it is extra bonus stuff. I am really hoping to have a good portion of the weight off by Christmas...which will be doable - IF I stick to this!!! WHEN I stick to this...which this time is NOW! :) Positive self talk, right??

I'd be interested to know what the permanent veneers are like. I've wanted to get them for a long time but haven't had the money for it. I know one day I want to do it though. Good for you!

I am with you on wanting to get back into the routine and working out before work AND also getting some weight off by Christmas!

I wish this guy was a perfectionist - life would have been easier. I think he was more of a minimalist and couldn't understand my displeasrue with the chrome plated plastic faucet! Even the caulking of the shower door to the tub is half-@$$&>!! But the tile looks nice, at least. So does the new faucet that I bought. And then he took the old one and were still going to charge me for it. Or so he thought!
 
Ellen - I can't imagine taking Algebra or Trig again! Soooooooo glad those days are behind me. Good luck to you!

Marie - Isn't remodeling a pain? We got so burnt out on it earlier this year getting ready for my son's First Communion we haven't done anything since! Glad to hear you didn't have the customer service problems with Beach Body that others have written about. I was thinking about getting Turbo Jam but those posts were really turning me off.

This morning I did a 5 mile jog plus 400 walking lunges. The most I've ever done before is 200 so I have a feeling I'm going to feel it tomorrow. I went to the school playground behind our house to do my lunges. The surface is smoother than the sidewalk since you don't have all the cracks and it's a little less conspicuous. Nonetheless, I still feel like I outed myself as a fitness fanatic! ha ha

I haven't weighed myself for awhile because I was getting discouraged by the slow progress of the scale. Today someone MADE MY DAY and told me I looked like I've been losing weight! I'm going to be on cloud 9 now the rest of the day.:)

I received my shipping notice for the new DVDs - they should be coming on Thursday. Yeah! I love getting new stuff.

I just bought BFFM and it had tons of great advice but one thing I noticed the most is it says to exercise first thing in the morning. I used to workout after work but now I get up an hour early to exercise, with Cathe, of course. It has only been three weeks and I have also changed my eating but I really think this morning exercise thing is helping a lot. The book says it increases it by 300% which seems high but it does seem to be doing something for me. I also don't miss any time with my kids and husband that way. I hate getting out of bed early but I really look forward to Cathe's tapes so I move it and am always glad I did. Just my thoughts. Have a great day! Vic

Welcome! Tell us more about you. What part of WI are you from? What is BFFM? I am a morning exerciser - when I get out of bed at least. Need to work on doing that consistently!

Welcome Vicki! Yes, where do you live? Anywhere close to Milwaukee so you can come to our next get together? I got the BFFM book (Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle, by Tom Venuto). I found it too complicated and decided to join Weight Watchers instead. That hasn't worked, so I'm thinking of going back to plain old low carb to get rid of 10 pounds. By complictated I mean I just had a hard time keeping enough track of all the macros. And there's no WAY I can exercise first thing in the morning. I did fasting cardio for about 2 days and quit lol. Good for you for sticking to it!

Ellen-I'm with the others! Kudos to you for doing algebra now. yikes. There is no room in my brain right now to learn anything new lol.

marie-I'm glad to hear your bathroom finally turned out. Hopefully it was worth it in the end.

amy-have fun with the couch program. I meant to email you this thing about running I found in Fitness. I'll get it scanned and email shortly. Veneers huh? Not to scare you, but doesn't that hurt getting those put on? I'm getting some fillings on Thursday and that scares me enough lol.

My "optional fixup of choice" would be botox between my eyebrows. I have terrible furrows there and it looks like I'm frowning all the time. I don't know why.....I even have them when I wake up in the morning. :(

shakeu-(that is Sue, right? LOL) 400 walking lunges? We need a bowing down smiley over there. Sheesh.

I had to go to the car dealer in Waukesha earlier. Their gas price is $2.99 already! YIKES!!
 
I am from Grantsburg, WI, small town on the north west side of the state on the border by MN. I am 29 with a husband and two boys, one 4 one 3. Not a lot of free time but exercise is my time and I love it. I am a Controller and I sit most of the day but I take walks for break and get up as often as possible. BFFM is Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle by Tom Venuto. It's at burnthefat.com and it has helped me eat clean. I heard about all the eating clean on this site but until I got the book I didn't know exactly what it meant. The exercise in the AM is the toughest part to me. I HATE mornings but it seems like it gets easier to get up each day. As far as the macros go I am only making sure that I eat less than 1700 cal. a day until I master the basics, then I can refine it or leave it depending on my results. It's fun to me to try to figure out what works and what doesn't for my body. Cathe said she knows herself and what she can eat, I hope that I can accomplish that! Vicky

I'm pretty bad about posting, but I occasionally get on here and post my workouts!

I actually was just talking to someone about BFFM and he 'swears' by this method also! He says he loses weight more quickly doing this method. I personally have never done it. I am a night person (I workout at 8 pm or later) just because my daughter (who is one now) keeps me pretty busy during the day and I just can't do morning workouts! I like my bed to much! LOL!
