BUFF BADGERS Tue 01/10

Cathlete
Morning BB's,

Today is Circuit Max plus CTX Upper Body. This is going to be a tough day. }( Yesterday while doing this rotation, I noticed a muscle in my leg that I hadn't seen before. The rotation is heavy on leg work, so I'm thinking those walking lunges are helping!

Marie, you don't need to leave us here! There are a handful of people that manage to take numerous threads and turn them bad on VF. I just don't like how some of them turn so nasty, and they haven't all been realted to Cathe, so that is why I don't go there anymore.

Jill, you are tempting me with the TLT's. But I promised myself that I wasn't going to be spending any excess money until the girls birthdays, which are in March. They are going on my wish list though. :D

Cynthia, we actually are suppose to get sun today!

Sue, how are your abs this morning? Circuit Max doesn't have ab work does it? I can never remember! I hope not, I don't think my poor stomach could handle it! :7

Sarah, Imax3 is a tough workout, I always have to take a longer break in the middle of that one. My jumps are just enough to get me off the ground!

Susan, you will love what those walking lunges will do for your legs, even though they feel like jelly after you are done.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Morning ladies! I have to go to the office today so I won't be around.

Marie---don't be silly! Of course we want you to post here. My post was neither for or against Cathe. I was simply trying to say why is it necessary for every other thread there to result in arguing. It seems that, unlike here, nobody can express an opinion for either "side" of the debate without being made fun of or flamed. That's all! I agree with Laurie----the nastiness isn't limited to Cathe. Like that one about the postal increase. Sheesh!

So I'm off to the office today---I'll be going more often now that it's tax season (dread). It will be difficult to get a workout in since I have to leave for DS's basketball game at 5:30, but I'll try. I've worked out hard the last couple of days, so I won't be too upset if I have to rest. I was so happy to be able to get out of bed without pain today. My butt and outter thighs were burning as I was laying in bed last night!

Have a great day!
Jill

Hello there! I am not as sore as I thought I would be after all those lunges yesterday. I bet tomorrow or tonight I'll be feelng it more. I woke up at 4:15 and did KPC followed by the last 1/2 of Step Blast. I had fun! Now I am off to walk the dog who sits besides me and moans to leave!!:) Then off to work. Busy,busy...
Hope you all have a great day. Stay strong. Susan

Good morning,

Marie, don't leave! A variety of viewpoints is healthy and necessary, and it's important to ask questions.

I'm also being tempted by the TLTs. I may be cracking. I woke up this morning to work out but couldn't bring myself to get out of bed at the thought of major high impact, so I didn't. These new workouts may be what I need. Although once I read Susan's planned workout for today, I thought that it sounded like something I might do today too!

I know there are others here who are trying to lose a little weight and watch what they eat. I am too, and although I'm being very careful about calories and quantities and have added more fruits and veggies, I feel mostly just heavy and bloated (sorry if that's too much info). It's such a gross feeling, and each day I think it'll go away, but I just feel crummy. I suppose maybe I need to add more cardio? I stayed at the same weight for about three and a half years, and now in the last couple of months I've gained a few pounds, and I feel awful. I don't want to let myself get discouraged so I'll start eating like crap again, but it's so hard. Why does weight loss have to be such a battle??? Ugh, it's frustrating.

Sorry for the vent. I'm just a little low today :)

Take care,

Ellen

Laurie - I definitely feel my core today but it's my upper back that's been sore lately. Don't worry, no abs in CM.;-) I ran out of time so will do biceps tonight. And yes, there's a lot of legwork in this rotation - I agree.

Jill - Uh oh, which TLT did you do yesterday? I want to make sure I do that one before a rest day! Mine haven't arrived yet but I'm hoping end of this week or early next. Also ordered a 4 pound squishy med ball.

Marie - I posted last night but you probably missed it. Laurie & Jill summed up my feelings about VF well.

Susan - 4:15? Yikes!!! I thought getting up at 4:30 this morning was insane. Great w/o, too!

Ellen - I'm right there with ya on the eating thing! I've finally figured out the most stressful part of my day is at night after dinner when I'm running around trying to do a million things. Last night I took a few minutes and sat and read one of the trashy magazines like People or Star DH brings home from work (publishing company) for me. It made me feel better and helped avoid emotional eating which is my problem.

Have a great day everyone!

Sue

Hi BBs,
Thanks for not voting me off the check-in! :)

Jill - I can't believe you did 2 TLTs yesterday! I bet you were feeling that.

Laurie and Sue - you 2 are just amazing with that rotation. It seems like it would take a long time to do each day.

Susan - quite a workout this morning!! WOW!!!!

Ellen - I have been trying to lose weight and it is frustrating. I am trying to increase my cardio to see if that gets things moving.

This morning I did Power 90 Masters Sculpt 5/6 and was disappointed. I like 3/4 because it is just basic traditional strength training with minimal equipment and was hoping 5/6 would be just longer and more intense. This one has some different moves and ones that concern me reagrding potential injury to the shoulder area where I have had problems. He also uses a chair that I don't have in my workout room. My favorite strength is Cathe Power Hour but it is just too long for mornings. I am not fond of using bands or a stability ball which is what I love about PH plus that it is just a great overall workout. I guess I need to keep searching for some good 45 min strength workouts or just freestyle but that is boring. Must be the day to vent.

Tonight is spinning class.

Hi everyone

Last night was Pure Strength Strong Legs & Abs. It's the last work-out in my rotation so I have to pick a new one to start. I don't think I have the guts to try Cathe's January rotation. Those walking lunges - ay yi yi!! More power to those of you attempting it! I'll probably browse through the old rotations to find one that I have most of the vids for.

Marie and all - regarding the VF flap - being new to this check-in, I hope I didn't offend anyone. I just choose not to visit VF anymore, since there are lots of other places on the net for me to waste valuable work time ;-) , and I just lost patience with it.

Ellen - sorry you're feeling discouraged about eating. It's so hard, isn't it? I think it's hardest here in January and February, I just gravitate toward fatty comfort foods. Urgh.

It's nice to see the sun here in Wisconsin again. First time I've needed my sunglasses in weeks!

RE: Hi everyone

Anyone that likes chocolate and needs more calcium?

I found some chocolate calcium pieces that also have vitamin D & K that are very tasty. They are called Adora Calcium Supplements. I found them at Pick & save and got the dark chocolate. No aftertaste and are just like eating good quality chocolate. They also come in milk chocolate. More expensive than Viactiv (30 for $6.99) but a way to satisfy a chocolate craving and get calcium. I will have to look at Walmart and other places for these and watch for sales but since I need more calcium I am SO EXCITED about this tasty little option to the pills I always forget to take.

Ellen, you sound exactly how I felt a few weeks ago. After I started drinking more water, and doing a bit extra cardio, that bloated feeling went away. However, with this new Cathe rotation I am hungry all the time!! I am doing pretty good though and have so far lost 2.5 of the 10 I would like to lose! Just try and be consistent with your workouts and maybe try to cut back on some of the processed carbs(?). Take care and know we're here for you to vent ! Susan

Sue- I did Finding Your Core in the morning, which is a deceptive title. It's really an all over body workout with LOTS of butt and thigh work!

Mare-I "only" did half of the Better burn better buns one. I can't imagine how sore my butt would have been last night if I'd done it all!

Ellen, I know how you feel. That bloated feeling is finally subsiding after 10 days back on lots of water and healthy eating. You'll get there! I'm sorry you're down. :(

Laurie -

I "lied".:D

Forgot that Circuit Max had planks this morning when I said it didn't have abs. You've probably already done your workout by now and realize this yourself. At least they weren't the walking planks that cause me to lose my balance and fall on my keister. ;-)

Hi Everyone!

Today is my off day. I'm having a beer!}( This working all day thing is going to be a killer. I am sleeping great though.

Marie: You are so tactful on VF. You have nothing to apologize for. I like reading your posts. I'm fab40's over there. I rarely post though. I find I get a lot of info about different videos that I don't always get here. I agree with everything you said. Got an offer on our house. When we were in WI. we signed with our realtor friend at Shorewest. She's had the house a week and we already have an offer. However, we are countering because they went a little too low and our realtor is going to take about 30 grand from the sale. So we'll see if anything pans out. I have been through this so many times that I don't get my hopes up until we sign the papers.

Laurie: Glad you have some sun today. My SIL emailed me today to let me know that today was sunny. Not rubbing it in, but it was 75 degrees here today. We desperately need rain to wash out the pollution. It hasn't rained here since Oct. 18th!

Tomorrow I get my vids! Yea! Yea! Yea! A little sore from L&G. I really like that workout! I hope to do Patrick's Body Design tomorrow.

Good Workouts Everyone!

Cynthia
