Buff Badgers - Month of November

Cathlete
Can you believe it is November already.

Quick run down. Saturday had my Tabata Bootcamp class. Sunday was my no workout day. Monday night I had my kickboxing class. Started a new 4 week session last night and I had a guy in my class for the first time. Granted he was trying it to see if he could handle it. I will be shocked if he comes back. I feel like he thought it was going to be something different than what it was. Then to be the only guy in a room full of girls. Don't think he was expecting a female instructor either.

This morning I started week 8 of treadlift build phase. Really enjoying these workouts. I do miss my Cathe workouts though. Right now I'm enjoying these shorter intense workouts.

Hope you are doing better than the last time I heard from you.

Brenda

I remember having this older guy in my step class many years ago when I was going to the gym. I bet you kicked that guys butt[emoji2][emoji2].

Today is my last day on antibiotic. I am trying to focus on getting my strength back this week. I will be working out no later than Saturday. You can count on that.

Glad to hear you're getting better. Yes, get back into it slowly.

I think I kicked his butt. I was in the front of the room and he in the back and I heard him breathing all the way up by me. ;)

This morning I did my 10 blast on the elliptical and then legs, deadlifts, single leg squats, squat jumps, and split jumps. Those single leg squats are hard for me. Especially on my left leg. I do the best I can.

Make it a great day!

Good Morning!

My legs are feeling yesterdays workout. This morning was back, biceps, and abs.

Other than that, not much else to report. Too much I want/need to do and not enough time in a day to get it done. So I need to pick and choose and what doesn't get picked will be there until I get to it. ;)

I'm back. It felt so great to do Muscle Max this morning. I always find that as the perfect workout to get back in the groove.

I truly feel so much better. I told a friend that being sick may have been a good thing for me. Otherwise I may have rushed back to working out before my foot was truly ready. It's been 5 weeks since I sprained my foot.

I focused on eating better this week and drinking more water.

My class is over and I couldn't be happier.

Thanks for hanging in there with me this past month. I tried to check in to say hello even though I wasn't able to work out.

My Monday morning workout was 30 minutes of elliptical cardio followed by squats and planks. I was so tired on the elliptical after not working out for weeks. I could not believe how slow I was going and still tired. I was just happy to be up and moving.

Good Morning!

Glad you're back and feeling much better. Then to tackle Muscle Max, yeah for you!! Also be careful not to overdue it. Let your body get back into it gradually.

Quick run down. Friday I had my 10 min on the elliptical and then shoulders. Saturday morning I had my Tabata Bootcamp class, Sunday was no workout. Did my house cleaning which can be a workout in itself once in a while. ;) Last night I had my kickboxing class. The guy didn't return. I had a feeling he wasn't going to. Enjoyed the workout last night and then this morning I started week 9 of #treadlift. Today was chest and triceps and got to change the exercises up this time. Had chest press crunch combo, pullover, single arm tricep kickback, and then single arm overhead tricep ext. I was really proud of myself. I used a 40 lb dumbbell on 3 out of the 4 sets. I have a feeling I'm going to be feeling this tomorrow though.

Make it a great day!

I don't think I will ever need 40 lbs. You are a warrior.

It feels good to be back but I definitely plan to take it easy. Today was 30 minutes of elliptical cardio.

Funny that the guy didn't come back. He might still be sore[emoji3] .

:)Good Morning!

This morning was LEG DAY.. Definitely did not have my balance on those single leg squats today. My balance pretty much stinks to begin with and today was worse than normal. Did the best I could.

What would we do without our ellipticals. :)

Weeks half over with..yeah!

Just finished Flex Train for total body. Like Muscle Max, it's the perfect workout for me right now.

I feel fortunate to have my elliptical because I cannot do the high impact daily like I use to. There is definitely a difference in being 38 and 48[emoji16].
I remember the days of all the jumping but my feet and legs do not handle it well. I learned to listen to my body and use my elliptical.

Good Morning!

I love Flex Train! I haven't done MM in a super long time. I still love the high impact stuff but I don't do it as much as I used to either. Between always being cautious of my hip and being 49. Things definitely don't work like they used to. My strength is probably the best its ever been.

This morning I had my 10 min interval training on the elliptical and then back, bi's, and abs. Today was one arm rows, bent over flys, hammer curls, and weighted crunches. Despite not sleeping well and then waking up earlier than normal, I had a really good workout. I used my 40 on my one arm rows, 12's on the rear flys, and 20's on hammer curls. I wasn't sure about the 40 on rows and 20's on the hammers, it was one of those days and I felt liked I crushed it. :p

Happy Friday!!

Glad the week is over with. The weeks have felt very long lately. I work one day the week of Thanksgiving and I can't wait to have some time off. I think between working 10-11 hrs at my normal job, having my two classes I teach, I train with my sister 2x/wk and another client every other week, and now taking my nutrition class on top of normal household chores... I'm feeling pooped. Then trying to think of things to turn my business into a more online training business. I'm struggling and feeling like I'm not creative enough or good enough. I know I need to stop thinking like that. Thinking of how (or can I) be different than the majority of others in this arena. I love health, wellness, and fitness. It's what I want to do with the rest of my life. I've always wanted to help people live healthier lives. Trying to figure out the best way to do that. Thanks for letting me get that out there. I really needed to say it and get it off my chest.

This morning I did my 10 min intervals on the elliptical and then did shoulders this morning and finished with Cathe's Extended Stretch from STS.

Hope to finish up yard work on Sunday when it's nicer outside.

Have a great weekend!

Keep striving for what you want to do. It's a blessing to know what you are passionate about and you have been putting in the effort to achieve it. Thank you for sharing that and getting it out. Some days we need to just say it.

I have been reflecting on my professional career and wanting to make a move to another school or different position. That's why I took a few classes to get a new certification. The scary thing is I don't know what I want to do but I know I am ready for a change and to try something new. I will stay in education but I have been at the same school for several years and its time for me to branch out and grow.

This weekend was fun. I went to my first Sip and Paint. They are very popular these days. DH and I went to a surprise retirement of a friend who retired from law enforcement.

Today was 40 minutes of elliptical cardio followed by core work.

Good Morning!

Weekend was pretty much the norm. Had my Tabata Bootcamp class Sat AM. Cleaned my parents house in the afternoon. Sun was my no workout day. Finished up the yard work in the morning so we got that all done. Yeah!! Last night I had my kickboxing class which went well. This morning I started week 10 of #treadlift chest & tri's. That 40 lbs that I was lifting last week definitely felt a lot heavier this morning. I pushed through and got it done.

I did have a bit of an ah-ha moment Saturday morning. I've been thinking about what could I do for a coaching program were I could either hold a class in my area and do it online. I came up with the acronym HITM, which stands for Healthy Habits in the Making. Working with people on gradually making changes in their daily habits whether its eating or exercises. Was thinking of initially holding it for either 8 or 10 weeks. They say it takes about 66 days to form a habit. Obviously that depends upon the person. Got lots of ideas in my head. Need to sit down and right them down. So I'd like to launch this program in 2017. I need to finish my nutrition class first. It gave me that little boost that I needed. Thank you for encouraging words.

Good luck with your situation as well. Hopefully you'll figure out soon what you want to do so you can make that change and branch out and grow.

What is Sip and Paint. I think I might know what it is but not positive.

Sip and Paint is very popular in this area. It's a party where you create a picture/ paint on canvas or glassware. There is usually an option to purchase wine hence sip. Many ladies have parties centered around this.

Got my fly shot yesterday so my shoulder is sore today. Back at it tomorrow.

I think there is something like that in my area as well. I know my sisters and nieces have been wanting to get together for something similar to that. We haven't done it yet.

This morning was legs. I was suppose to change the exercises but I forgot to print off what they were so I just did the same ones as the last couple of weeks.

Had another night of crappy sleep. I hate it that when my legs get too warm I wake up. If I'm too cold I wake up, if I get too warm I wake up. Frustrating. You would think I'd be use to it by now since I'm a crappy sleeper. It's just been worse than normal.

Good Morning!

Today was the 10 min interval training on the elliptical followed by back, biceps, and abs. Had a better workout today than the last two days. I got a little more sleep last night. Still feel tired though. Granted sinus issues aren't helping any.

Hope things are going well.

I forgot to check in this morning. More elliptical cardio.

Sorry to hear you are having rough sleep patterns. I hate when I wake up in the middle of the night. It throws me off and makes it hard to get up for my workout.

Good Morning and Happy Friday!!

Another crappy night of sleep. Went to bed a little after 9 and I was woke up at 11:30, don't think it took me too long to fall back asleep but then I was awake again after 1am. So irritating.

This morning my 10 min on the elliptical of interval training. This one was a tough one on the legs. Lot of resistance. Then followed by shoulders. Which felt hard today.

The weather has been pretty mild this week. Today is suppose to be upper 60's. Then tonight it takes a nose dive and tomorrow in the 40's and a chance of snow. Yuck!! We are in November so it is what it is. :)

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Yesterday was elliptical cardio. My eating has been good the last few weeks so I am very happy about that. This morning was spent folding clothes. DS will be home tomorrow for Thanksgiving for the first time since leaving for college 3 1/2 months ago. We are excited.
