Good Morning BB's,

Hope you all had a great weekend.

I ran 6.5 miles on Sat in 60 min. Not great, but I finished the itread outdoor 60 min. download.

Today I am doing GS chest & tri, run 4 miles and abs of some sort.

Are any of you ordering platemates or any of the new equiptment for Cathe's new workouts?

Sue, how was the movie?

Laurie, did you do your 5 miles inside or outside? Don't up the miles yet I am trying to keep up.

Susan, missed your post on Fri., kept coming back to see what your plans were for the weekend.

Have a nice day.

Morning BB's,

Todays workout SH Chest & Back. After dance class I will get in a 2m run.

Had a nice weekend with just DH and myself. DD's where off with freinds all weekend. We went shopping, and then out to dinner with friends. Sunday we had our guilde workshop, and then went to his brothers house to celebrate Easter with his family.

Cami didn't like the thunder and lightening this morning, and was on our bed until the noise left the area. :7

Karen, I got in the 5m outside on Saturday. 6.5m in 60 min is a good time. :D At least for me it would be a very good time. :D I'm keeping to the 12m mark for this week. I am heading out on Th, and hopping to get my 5m run in on Sunday when I get back. I don't think that I'm going to be doing to much of anything this weekend, but gabbing. DH and DD's will not be home when I get off the plane, so I'm thinking that might or might not be a good thing to do. :D :D May be to tired from all the fun I'm going to have. :D

Sue, So did you get those 10 miles in this weekend? Just kidding!

Susan, When I go to Hal's sight I spend so much time there. :D Took me a long time to figure out what training program I wanted to start.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Karen - Movie was great! I noticed they took out the "Boil that Dust speck" song which I remember from when I was a kid. Guess they thought it was too violent or something. 6.5 miles in an hour is great! I can only do 5 miles in an hour. You're halfway to a Half running 6.5. How about I come cheer on Susan, Laurie and YOU running a half marathon! ;-)

Laurie - Why, yes I did 10 miles. Does driving count? LOL Are you staying 2 nights or 3 in North Carolina? What activities do you have planned? Any mention of a roadtrip to Glassboro?

Susan - Hope you're escaping the rain today. It's pouring cats and dogs right now.

Friday night was Dojo (fairly easy class). On Saturday, DD and I took Forms class while DS and DH were at pitching practice. I'm the first one in my family to earn my white stripe for knowing my Form! I was so excited because I didn't know it at all on Tuesday so I had DS show me after class and I practiced over and over. Now the Sword Form on the other hand is a different story. . . It's a 2nd degree Black Belt Form and I can't twirl that darn sword to save my life! (Don't worry - it's a padded sword, not the real thing. Although when Black Belts do the Form they DO use real swords. Pretty cool.)

Sunday was Boot Camp Everything But Core Premix. I was really trying to kick high on those sequential power kicks so my heartrate peaked at 99%! (175 or so) Also went for a 2 mile walk. (Sorry, Karen - I let you down and didn't do my 10 miles on Saturday! ;-)) This morning was Drill Max Cardio Blast premix 39 min. Was SO glad I only had to do Drill #5 once (the hops and skipping). I'm really liking this Fat Burning rotation with shorter workouts. For me, it woud feel like overtraining to do (6) 60-70 min. workouts plus 3 Dojo classes a week.

Okay, I'm going to brag about my Dojo for a little bit now. . . Three Black Belts from our Dojo just got back from Korea where they were competing in an International Tournament. One guy couldn't compete due to an injury with his knee which became worse after sitting for hours in an airplane. The other 2 (who happen to be women!) placed 1st and 3rd! That's in the ENTIRE WORLD! They had to spar about 20 people and I can tell you from the little sparring I've done that it's very tiring! Can't imagine sparring all day long. Talking to one of the ladies (one is a senior in HS and the other is 39 years old), they say that in Korea they spar differently. Head shots are not allowed. (We wear helmets so it's allowed in the U.S.) Koreans use more kicks than punches and their kicking form is awesome! However, they don't learn Hapkido (self-defense) until they are a 2nd degree Black Belt over there. We learn it right away as a white belt which is why they think they did so well. They've been doing Hapkido for years so have lots of experience. Actually it shouldn't be too surprising they did so well. Master K. tried out for the Olympics in TKD and came in 3rd place nationally. They only sent the top 2 in the U.S. so he didn't get to go. Anyway, that's the level of teaching we have at our Dojo and why I need to brag so much. :)

Have a great Monday!

Sue

Laurie, you get to go somewhere warm. Are a lot of the formerly known as Xers showing up? I am glad you get to go have a fun few days with some friends.

Sue, that's amazing about you Dojo instructors. Wow!! For now we will count driving for you. But be prepared to join us in the half none of us are doing because we are all chicken. Nice job on earning your white stripe. You go get um litterally.

It's snowing here. We are suppose to get 6 tonight and 6 tomorrow. Where did spring go?

Karen - Your posts make me smile. :7 Thanks for counting driving. ;-) Ugh to the snow! x(

To answer your question about equipment: I already have 2.5 pound Platemates for my barbell plates and the adjustable dumbbells so I think I'm good. If the new Cathe piece of equipment worked for squats I'd definitely try to talk DH into letting me get it. Not sure what I'll do for chest presses. Hoping she'll have a modification or else I might have to look into getting something.

Sue

Hi there! Well, I totally forgot to post yesterday! Just too many other things on my mind I think!

My weekend was running here and there. Saturday I did a 3 mile run/walk. My ankle hs been bothering me lately. Last week I was alking Ruby and slid on some gravel. My ankle came out from under me and since then it gets a sharp twinge in it every once in a while. Saturday I also did Pilates on the Ball. Sunday I did the elliptical for 50 mn (6.3 miles). Monday I did KPC. Today I am doing the elliptical followed by Pilates Buns/Thighs.

I was diagnosed Hypothyroid a year ago. I have been on meds but the past month or so I feel like I am going backwards. The weight is starting to creep back. All the other symptoms are coming back as well.I think I will call the Dr. and get re-tested. I am not supposed to be tested for a couple more months. I don't think I can stand to wait that long!

You all have a great day! We only got some rain here and my snow is all gone in my yard! YIPEE!

:) Susan

Happy April Fools Day everyone! Be on the lookout so you don't get fooled. :+

Susan - Sounds like you might have twisted your ankle slightly. As far as your thyroid, I'm hypo, too. In December/January I was really struggling to lose weight so when I had my annual thyroid check in early January I thought for sure my TSH levels would be high but they weren't. The doctor blamed my lack of weight loss on stress so since then I've been consciously trying to get more sleep and I think that helps. Not much more I can do to reduce my stress level. If I stay consistent with my diet, I do lose albeit very slowly.

This morning was Push Pull Upper Body 2X premix 45 min. (except you do biceps/triceps 3X - at least my dvd did this morning). After that I did a 10 mile run followed by Coremax 1, 2 and 3. April Fools!

Sue

Hee Hee Sue, You fooled me! I had to read that "10 mile run" a couple times! I was impressed!

Hi BB's,

Today I am doing spinning CC#7, just love that workout. The music is great. I also plan on GS shoulders.

Susan, you got lots of great workouts in over the weekend. Sorry your ankle is not feeling very good.

Sue, good job on the 10 mile run. I actually went back and re-read it too.

Laurie, are you staying at a hotel when you go to North Carolina? A couple more days and your free.

Have a great day.

Morning BB's,

Todays workout was SH Legs & Shoulders / 3m Run (when I get home)

After work I need to vote, get my hair done and do some errands.

Sue, LOL about the 10 miles. That is great that you kids get to be taught by such a great place. Makes you feel that you are getting your moneys worth when they are able to put out that caliber of talent. ;-)

Karen, There are about 6 of us going. Should be lots of fun to finally meet these ladies after chatting with them for 2 years. We are actually staying at one of the Xers house. So that saved on hotel. One day they may even show up at my house. :D Don't think they would like coming to WI during the winter. Would have to be more of a June retreat. We always have such nice weather in June.

Susan, Sorry to hear about the ankle, hope it heals up quick. Dang on the thyroid. I'm also happy to see the snow gone from our yard. Too bad it still is cold around here though. x(

Back to work!

Laurie

Laurie - Getting excited for your trip? Remember to take pictures. Have a GREAT time! Relax and enjoy. :)

Karen & Susan - Is your snow starting to melt? Ours is almost all gone. Just little snow piles here and there. Supposed to be upper 40s/low 50s the rest of the week. Now it just needs to dry out.

Sweaty sparring class last night at Dojo. We had to wear full gear - booties, shin guards, chest protector, punch guards and headgear - and you sweat like crazy in that stuff! Earned my green stripe for sparring so now I just need a black stripe for Hapkido and I'll be ready for belt testing. :)

This morning I decided to sleep in so no workout. If I feel good tonight and have time I'll do Step 'n Intervals cardio or maybe go outside if the weather is nice for a walk/jog.

It's DS' 11th birthday today so I baked a chocolate cake for him last night. He has his last CF (Christian Formation) class tonight and they're having a pizza party so he's looking forward to that. He's also bringing chocolate chip cookies (store-bought) as his birthday treat. He's going to be well-sugared up after today. :)

Sue

Morning BB's,

Todays workout was SH Tri's and Bi's and then will be doing a 2m run when I get home.

Still have my packing to do, and some laundry. Shouldn't be to bad though, don't need to take to much stuff along. What will they allow on the plane anymore as it is. :7 :7 :7 Just as long as they will allow me my books, I should be good.

Sue, I'm excited and nervous. Nervous about the flying, something I really don't like to do. But very excited to see all these ladies in person. I will remember to take the camera along. Then that means that I need to make a picture trail or something. :7 Me and technology don't work well together sometimes. :7 Happy Birthday to your DS, and I hope that he enjoys his day today. My DD11 had a sugar buzz going on Sunday, and she was quite funny at times. :7 But the crash came the next day. :7 WTG on earning another stripe.

Karen, Get that running in the weekend. I ran my 2m a little faster today, and they are talking to me right now. :7 :7 They are going to enjoy the rest for a couple of days. :7

Susan, How's that ankle feeling today? Hope all is well.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Hi guys,

Today I did a 4 mile run, a little slower than normal. I am just wiped out all the time. Also did GS back and bi and coremax.

Laurie, have a great time on your trip. I am not a fan of flying either, especially by myself. Get ready for a picture trail. We need to be let in on the fun.

Sue, great job on another stripe. I wouldn't do well closed up in so much armor. I think I'm clostraphobic. Happy Birthday to DS. Have a piece of chocolate cake for me, although with all the birthdays here lately, I've probably had my fill.

Susan, hope you are feeling better and you can get the thyroid issue resolved. Take care of you ankle.

Lots of snow here still. The kids actually were delayed 2 hours yesterday because of so much snow. It looks like the middle of winter here. Yuk!!!!!!!!!

Have a wonderful day.

Hi all!

Today is Supersets plus I did a 2 mile run this morning. Ankle felt pretty good!

Laurie, have fun on your trip. I too hate to fly and have only flown for 1 trip. I am not excited to ever do it again! Unless someone is taking me to Hawaii!

Sue, that class sounds like a sweat fest! LOL!

Karen, I hope your snow melts quickly. We have one little patch on the front yard and that's it! It was so nice and sunny here today. Near 50! Woo Hoo!!

Talk to you tomorrow! Susan

Morning BB's,

Today I am planning CC#6 on the spin bike and a segment of stretchmax.

Susan, glad your snow is almost gone. Now if the temps would just get up a tad higher. Glad you ankle is not acting up. Great job on the 2 miles.

Sue, your workouts are really consistant, are you seeing any weight loss? When does you DS start baseball? It's got to be soon. I hope their team does well this year.

Laurie, if you haven't left yet, have a great time.

Enjoy your day.

Karen - I try not to weigh myself too often because I get discouraged but my pants have been fitting looser. :) Happy spinning today. Stretchmax sounds good. I need to do that one again real soon.

Laurie - I've flown a few times by myself for work and don't like it either. Just don't do like I did and leave your credit card in the checkin kiosk. (I got it back by the way.)

Susan - Great job on the 2 miles!

DS had a great day yesterday. The chocolate cake I made was good. Yum yum. :) Didn't do any cardio last night so it was a true rest day. This morning I was tired but managed to do Step 'n Intervals cardio and substituted Ab Ripper X for Coremax #3 because it's a little shorter and I was tight on time this morning. (Or I could say it was in honor of Laurie's trip to see her Xer buddies. :7 )

Sue

Hi ladies!

Sue, I am the opposite of you. I weigh in everyday! Some days I get up and say " I will not weigh in today" next thing I know I am getting on the scale! Oh well, it helps keep me in line.

Karen, hope you enjoyed your CC Spinning! I am thinking of doing some Cardio Coach with my running.

Today was a 3 mile run/walk and then CTX Kickbox cardio and Pilates 20mn Maximum Burn.

Tomorrow is my "OFF" day from exercise. After school the kids are in a pinecar derby race at our church and it's also a pot luck. They are excited! My DH and the kids have worked very hard perfecting these cars.

Have a good night! Susan

Karen - DS' first baseball game is May 21. Our team has been practicing MUCH more than last year (like night and day) so I hope they do better this year. Keep your fingers crossed!

Susan - Everyone raves about CC. I've never tried it myself but definitely would if I had a treadmill, elliptical or spin bike (like Laurie, you and Karen). Good luck at the Pinewood Derby tomorrow! The kids' cars were always thrown together last minute so they never did very well.

Did Push Pull Lower Body 2X Premix 39 min. this morning. Dojo tonight.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Sue

Good Morning,

Today my workout is B&G and CC#4 spinning unless another cardio changes my mind. Also will do some ab work.

Susan, you really have some great workouts. YOur stamina must be awesome. Have a great time at the potluck and the derby race. Let us know how your kids did. Those things are so much fun.

Sue, did you have Dojo last night? Have a great day. Hope the weather is spring like.

Tomorrow I plan on a 6 or 7 mile run to CC7 of course.

Have a great day and a wonderful weekend.

Karen - We must have posted about the same time. I vote you do 7 miles. You have to catch up to my 10. ;-) :+
