Buff Badgers-Happy Monday

Cathlete
Morning everyone,

Hope you all had a nice weekend. Starting to get hot and sticky again! The cooler weather was nice while it lasted!

I have to be honest, I was totally lazy this morning and slept in. I just felt tired. Maybe it was Monday blues, maybe it was too hot. I am going to try and get a run in (INDOORS) when I get home tonight. I'll be back at it tomorrow morning.

I posted this question to Cathe, but maybe you guys have an opinion. I am trying to lose fat and sculpt shaplier muslces, get more strength. Is it better to do a strength rotation (like GS series)or an endurance rotation (MM, ME) first?

By the way, did you guys see Cathe's August rotation?! Yikes! I would like to do it but man, oh man I don't know. It looks a bit time consuming as well. What about that day you have to do Boot Camp twice!

Morning BB's,

I had started another post but went in and edited. We must have been typing at the same time. :) I had a good weekend at the faire. With all the walking we do, my legs are a little sore today. But that usually goes away before my workouts. So yes Thea I saw the rotation, and I'm going to try it. I probably will not be able to do the whole work out, but it will be a good challange for me, or I'm just that crazy. }(

So it will be Bodaymax, jumping jacks, and pushups.

Have a great day!

I would like to see what Cathe says about this too!

I posted a request for a separate check in area over at Ask Cathe. If any of you agree, please add your comments - it is on pg 2 now.

I slept in this morning too!

Good morning,
It's Monday again. The weekend went by too fast! We went to Saturday and Sunday's Brewers vs. Giants game. My boyfriend is a lifelong Giants fan, so it was hard for him to watch them choke in both games. I've decided, though, that we're just really good luck for the Brewers — we've seen them play four times, and they've won every time! It was fun, regardless.
Back to work today. I got up this morning and did KPC. I hadn't done it in a while; it was fun once I was awake enough to enjoy it. I'm leaving for vacation on Thursday and will be staying with my oldest brother in Florida, and I think I'm going to take KPC, Kick Max and maybe Stretch and Core Max. I usually run around his neighborhood when I'm there at Thanksgiving, but I don't think I'm going to attempt it with the heat there.
I think I might try the August rotation once I get home next week and am back on a normal schedule. I also have to order the Body Max DVD. I have it on VHS, but we don't have our VCR hooked up anymore. I'm not very good at sticking with rotations, so we'll see how it works out.
Stay cool and have a great day,
ellen

Hi all...

Like many others, I slept in this morning. I'm lucky to have that luxury for the next couple of weeks until I go back to school. Kind of exciting...my last semester of classes...then my clinicals start in January... This time next year and I will be an OT! I'd like to start my clinical portion of training as a true buff badger...so I best get my tail in gear!

I am going to do the body blast rotation this month. It's really the only one that I have all the DVD's to do. Like Ellen, I am not good at following a rotation, so I'm going to try like heck. Another board member said yesterday that she'd like to do a check in together, so hopefully that will help keep me on track. Step jump and pump is on tap for today, so I'm looking forward to that...though I haven't done that in it's entirety yet. I'm preparing myself that it's OK to modify!!!

I look forward to getting to know you all over the coming weeks as we post together through our rotations. And good luck to those trying the August rotation...It hurt me to just read that! I am far from being ready for that, but hopefully I'll get to that level eventually...and by the time I get to that level, hopefully I have the time to do something like that!

Take care all - I may post after my workout to let you know how it went!

BTW - I may change my username since I am already "Winter",but I'll let you know.

Amy

Hi, It sounds like everyone had a good weekend. I did the step portion of MIC and Pyramid lower body. I thought about doing the August rotation but then read some posts on ask Cathe. Some were questioning how safe this rotation is. I looked it over again and decided 3 imaxes in one week along with everything else probably would not give as much strength or toning as I like. Cathe said before Imaxes 2 times per week max. Good luck with the rotation. I guess I will finish my leg rotation that Cathe posted a year ago or so. I am glad I have air. I couldn't imagine trying to exercise in this heat. Keep the good work.

Happy Monday everyone! I'm having one of the Mondays that makes me so fusterated! I slept wrong last night and have a killer kink in my neck/shoulder. I can barely turn my head to the left. I'm just going to do stretches today and I'm skipping my workout. I had PUB planned, but I'm moving it until tomorrow (hopefully I will feel up to it by then). I went for a nice long walk/jog this morning, which seemed to help, but I'm going to take it easy until I'm back to normal again!
And those of you doing the August rotation.....you go girls!!! YIKES....I'm definately not to that level yet. Something to work towards I guess!

Good afternoon, BBs!

On Saturday I did MuscleMax before my daughter's softball game and a party Saturday afternoon. Saturday night I had some time alone without the husband and kids and had a lot of energy from sitting around all day so I did cardio only from 10-10-10 and intervals 6 & 7 from LowMax.

On Sunday I was soooooooo tired I couldn't even bring myself to do StretchMax so I did a few stretches on my own.

This morning I struggled through Imax3. It wasn't pretty and I needed a LOT of breaks but I made it through. I think it was a combination of the heat and being tired. Gotta get to bed early tonight so I get over this tired thing. Of course, I need to do a segment of CoreMax first though if I'm going to stick to my rotation.

To all those doing the August rotation: Are you CRAZY!!! LOL I *wish* I was fit enough and had the time to dedicate to this rttation but it's just not do-able for me right now.

I've been reading more and more about freestyle training and I think that may be what I try next. My thighs have always been big, even when I weighed less. Does anyone know where I can find a 60-70 min. per day freestyle rotation? If not, I'll try to come up with something on my own.

Sue

Sue,

I think someone has posted some freestyle rotations on the rotations forum. You could search there, I seem to remember seeing something. Good luck!

Hello Buff Badgers
Well my weekend was interesting. First I only work at my job on Fri, Sat, and Sun so today is the start of my weekend. On Friday i did not workout, but according to fitday.co I burned about 600 cal. at work (I am a nurse on a busy unit). Sat. I did intervals 1-5 Imax2. Sunday I did not workout and that was a good thing because I ended up staying and working a 16 hour shift at my job and then had to drive 40 minutes back home so I did not get home until midnight. Needless to say I slept in this morning, if you count sleeping till 7am sleeping in. Well i went on a walk this am for 45 minutes with my son and then during his nap I did cardio with weights. I would love to try the Aug rotation but I am new to cathe and I need to get more DVDs so that I can do a rotation. Oh well, But I did do the 200 jumping jacks and the 40 pushups after I was done with cardio and weights. So I think that I will do all the non dvd stuff for the Aug rotation. Well I hope everyone is doind well, it sounds like that we all were alittle tired this am. Tomorrow will be a more awake day.:p

Hey all you Buff Badgers! Late check in for me. Monday is the only day I have to go to our office to work, so it's always challenging to find some personal computer time lol. I only have to be there from 9am until 3pm, but then I always have stuff to do while I'm "in town". I went to the New Balance store and bought my first ever pair of running shoes (718s) and like them a lot. I did Cardio Coach Volume 4 tonight and had less pain from my neuroma. It still hurt a bit, but not nearly as much as when I was running on the cross trainers.

Then I went to the Laz-y-Boy store on Layton and ordered a new couch. Yay! I've needed one for a LONG time and I hope my boys are old enough now to be more careful. :)

Saturday I did Firm Super Sculpting, kind of an oldie. It worked me well, and I had some bicep doms for awhile. Then I did all of Rythmic Step on Sunday. I wanted to get some good cardio in after having 2 pina colada drinks Saturday night (NOT on my WW plan lol).

I"m not sure what the best rotation is Thea. I have trouble with them, too. I start out all gung ho and get bored after awhile. I just mix it up by myself. I do plan out a few weeks at a time. I have my workouts all listed in a spreadsheet; I'll print it out and then pick them one by one and print them out. However, I usually quit that after awhile too lol. But that's usually cuz something new arrives in my mailbox!

There is NO WAY I'm doing the August rotation. It just looks crazy to me. No thanks!

Wow, I've got to get something to eat and hit the hay!
Cya tomorrow!

You were right over here by me if you were at the La-Z-Boy store. Are you on WW as well? I'm trying to do the counting points too...

Amy

Hi Amy. I live in East Troy, but our office is in the Longo bldg on 84/Forest Home. I go there on Mondays and work from home the rest of the time.

I am on week 3 of WW and doing the points also. The first week I lost 5 pounds, but it was mostly water weight as I had totally pigged out that weekend lol. I have stayed the same for the next week and a half. It would be a great maintenance plan, but doesn't seem to be helping me lose any fat. I have 8-9 pounds to lose, so I know it's not easy.
