Buff Badgers Dec. 8-12

Hi everyone!!

For you Biggest Loser watchers, our girl Michelle made it to the top 3..YEAH!!!! I was so proud of her. Did anyone vote online to see who's the 3rd person (Heba or Ed). I don't like either of them but I voted for Ed. There is something about Heba I don't like along with Vicky. I hope Michelle does great at the finale.

The last few days I've been fighting something. I've been having bad sinus headaches, yesterday my throat was sore (today on the scratchy side), ears have a full feeling, and my eyes itch and burn. I don't feel horrible, just really dragging. Despite how I felt I did manage to get my butt out of bed at 3AM. Yesterday I did Cardio & Weights. Enjoyed it. Not one of her toughest circuits but it was fun. First time I ever did that one as recorded. Last night after work I cleaned my house so I have that done for the week. This morning I did Cardio Coach Press Play, love that one. Was hoping to sweat out the germs.

I probably won't be able to touch base tomorrow. Have a Christmas Party to go to after work.

Karen - good job on Imax. That is a tough workout. I agree I think its almost harder then the other two. Out of the Imaxes, Imax 2 is my favorite.

Great job to all on the workouts!! We all ROCK!! I love circuit workouts too. They seem to go so much faster.

Has anyone put together their own 4 week rotation?

Laurie - I have 2 weeks off also over Christmas. I can't wait.

Lala - back at after two weeks, that's what I'm not looking forward to after the first of the year.

Susan - who's the instructor for Pilates Max. I never tried pilates. What do you enjoy about it? How does it help you? I heard pilates is good for you if you have a bad back, that is helps strengthen it. I have low back problems so always looking for things that may help.

Sorry for babbling.

Hope everyone has a great evening and a great weekend!!

Take Care!
Brenda

HI Brenda! Yes, I was so proud of Michelle too! My eyes teared up for her! I know she can win it! I allowed my DD to call in and vote for Ed to appear at the finale.

Pilates Max is by Mari Winsor. I have all of her pilates workouts I think. She is coming out with a new one next week that includes her new pilates resistance tubing. I have been incorporating pilates into my workouts for about 5 years now and I love it. It really helps keep my core strong and my legs leaner. I too have low back problems and as long as I am consistent with pilates (at least 2 days a week), I feel much better.

Enjoy your Christmas party!!

Susan:)

Good Morning,

Today I did Supersets with DH with some added KB swings inbetween rounds. In a bit I will do GS tri/shoulders. Wish me luck, I am already sore just from SS. DH liked SS. Yea!:)

Brenda, I am also glad Michelle is in the top 3. I hope she wins the whole thing. She definitely has a good chance. I don't like Heba or Vicky either. Really wanted them voted off a long time ago. Great workouts and not feeling well. Wow, what dedication. CCPP is a tough workout. It seems to wear me out quicker than the other ones. Do you have CC7 and 8 also? Have a fun time at your Christmas party. Funny how most people like Imax 2 the best. If I picked my fav., it would be Imax 3.

Susan, because of you, I have started doing pilates 2 or 3 times a week. I just have 10 min. solutions and Total core pilates with Jules. Oh, I also have the shape pink one by Mari Winsor.

Have a great day.:)

Happy Friday!

Karen, glad that DH liked SS! I don't pull that one out often but maybe I will today! ;) I am glad you started pilates. I hope you find some benefits coming from it.

Well, since I was undecided about my workout today, I think I'll do Supersets!:D Tomorrow, I have Christmas program practice at church and then Christmas shopping to finally finish. I'll probably only have time to walk Ruby for her long one (1 hour). Sunday, I need to finish up Birthday shopping for the kids (both are next week) and then hope to get on the elliptical! I also hope the Packers can pull off a win this weekend!!!

Hope the rest of you ladies are doing well and staying healthy!

Take care- Susan

Morning!

I did my workout this morning, because I have lots to do tonight. I did Kimberly Spreen's Cardio Camp, and only the first 50 minutes.

Well it appears that DD15 is interested in a wrestler. At this point they are just talking in school, chatting on facebook and texting. The best part is he is apparently a decent wrestler, so wants to be dedicated to his sport until after the season is over with. So far I'm liking this boy! ;) Our stipulations are that of course she needs to wait until after she turns 16 (which is only 3 months away) and her grades really need to improve. Track season starts in April, so another positive! :D How I love extra curricular activities. :D

Karen, I think the first Imax is a great workout, but the beginning of that one is so long! :) Yep DD is going to the gym with me. She enjoys all the equipment, and of course LOVES the elliptical. :D Ya! You found a workout that DH likes!

Brenda, I think that if Ed hadn't been playing the game the way he did, Vicki would have been one the of the lower people. And I think way to many people would vote for Heba instead of Vicki! He should have been working to take off the most weight! Hope you start feeling better soon, not fun to be dragging. Have a great time at your Christmas Party.

Susan, Your weekend sounds a lot like the way mine will be starting. I have to take DD to church for her program, but then we are off after that to her dance class. Then we are having people over to our house for a Christmas get-together. DH and oldest DD are going to be busy getting the house ready, and food prepared! :D LOL!

Found this check in one page 2, so am moving it to page one:D

Friday I was scheduled for cardio and weights, but my alarm didn´t go off  so after school I did push pull. It seemed to be a good addition to my circuit rotation. Did a short run the other day. I thougth I´d try to improve my time over 2.5 miles, but not at all :(. so, what are good ways to get faster? Intervals? Maybe I´ll try that today

Brenda, sorry to hear you´re not feeling well. Take care of yourself so it doesn´t get worse.

Laurie, looks like a great workout that you did. Glad you are liking DD´s friend!

Susan, I have never done Pilates but it has always intrigued me...so what would be a good one to start with? And what kind of dog is Ruby? My dog would never be able to walk for an hour!

Karen, SS + GS tris and shoulder?! you are one buff badger!!!

Enjoy the weekend!

Hi to All!!

Got to bed early Thurs night (8pm) and woke up at 10pm thinking it was after 2am. Fell back asleep until 12 and from then on I was up and down (more up then down) but surprisingly I felt a little better and not as tired....weird. Friday AM I did MM. Felt weaker then usual but stayed with the same weight on all and even increased my weight slightly for squats.

The Christmas party last night was very nice. Dinner was incredible, so much to choose from and I did indulge somewhat on their miniature desserts. Didn't get home until 11:30. I woke up around 3am something and was so bummed, I was tired and wanted to sleep. I finally got out of bed at 6am. Had cardio today and didn't know what to do. I pulled out something old that I haven't done in a really long time.... Tae Bo Advanced #2. At the end where they were doing more toning I did my own thing to really get my heart rate up there. I need to find myself a rotation so I know what I'm going to do each day.

Karen - yeah!!! Found something that DH likes. That's a step in the right direction. I do have CC7 & CC8. CC8 starts out pretty tough, the first challenge is fairly tough. Legs definitely feel it by the time you're done. I wish I could combine Imax 2 & 3. There are some blasts that I like from both.

Susan, I would also like to know what Pilates workouts you would recommend for mainly the core and low back. I just might have to start incorporating that into my workouts to see how if it helps me out.

Lala - how do you like those inverted shoulder presses in Push pull. I think those are hard. I would try add intervals to see if that helps.

Laurie - glad you're liking DD's friend.

I'm off to go put up my parent's Christmas tree and hopefully take care of some other Christmas stuff.

Have a great day everyone!!!

Brenda

HI there! Well, I am glad today is almost over! LOL! What a busy one its been ! Woke up at 5:45 to take Ruby for her walk. Lala, our dog is an 85 pound yellow labrador who could walk forever if I let her! Then I had to run to church for 2 hours, run home quickly, run DS to a friends house and then shop for 4.5 hours! Time to relax!!

Tomorrow afternoon I need to get more shopping done without the kids for the stockings and stuff like that. I hope to get on the elliptical when I get home.

When I first started pilates I bought Mari Winsors original box set. It came with a beginner, intermediate and advanced workout. I have also tried Stott pilates workouts and they are good as well but the "flow" is different than what I am used to. I would have to suggest going to www.collagevideo.com and just looking at what they offer for pilates. Everyone has the instructor that they like most and being able to watch the clips helps as well! I have heard a lot of good things about the 10mn Solutions Pilates. I am thinking about trying them next!

Bye! Susan
