Buff Badgers 9/8-9/12

Dani - Ab Ripper IS hard! I always get sore from one. Did you like shoulders and arms?

Karen - ONLY 6 miles?! You slug. ;) Yeah, right. I should be as sluggish as you -then maybe I could have worn jeans to work today like everyone else. Today is a jeans day at work if you wear red, white and blue. I tried my jeans on this morning and they were too tight. It's TTOTM but even so. . .

No, I didn't finish the workout last night. DH got home late from work and there was so much to do around the house. He asked me to go for a walk with him so I did that at least. DD's art class was cancelled for last night. DH & DD knew it but no one told me until I was racing around trying to get dinner on the table! :(

Too tired to workout this morning. Will try to do something tonight. Feeling very BLAH today. I'm happy it's Thursday though. The consultants fly home on Thursday afternoons so I can finally get some work done! :)

Have a great day!

Sue, sorry you are feeling so BLAH today. Is it rainy there? It was nice you got to go for a walk with DH. I really enjoy when I get to do that. Aren't we always the last to know. Sorry you rushed for no reason. You are a good mom and wife. Take care and I am thinking of you.:)

Hi there!

Well, it started to rain here this morning so I drove to work and then it stopped! Feels like it will rain again though! Busy day at work but time flew by. I have to go get the kids soon and then DD asked me to go look for a new top for picture day tomorrow. She is having a rough time at Middle School. She claims she hates it, they all hate her etc.... I feel so bad and I just want to hug her but she won't let me.:( I am going to ask DH to watch DS Sunday afternoon so she and I can go have some alone time to talk.

Woke up late today and I scolded DH for not waking me up when he crawled out of bed! So Ruby and I only took a quick walk. I will be jumping on the elliptical for a quick HIIT workout and then S/H Biceps and ab work later. The elliptical does have about 4 HIIT workouts programmed in. A couple super hard and a couple that are just hard enough!;)

Karen, I agree with Sue. You were really slacking only running 6 miles! ;)Next time I expect more from you! LOL!!:D Good job!! Hope your DD feels better! Have fun at the soccer game!

Sue, I know what you mean about the blahs. I had them last week. The weather doesn't help though either. Just hang in the best you can. Try to get some extra rest in too. Sometimes our bodies just need a break!!

Hi Laurie!
Hi Lala!
Hi Dani!!

Susan

:p Hello Ladies,

Today was yoga x and I also did the timesaver on KM. So glad today is Thursday. One more day to go.

Karen sorry to hear about the sick DD and I hope your other DD and DS does well tonight.

Sue yes I did like arms and shoulders. So far I have liked all the videos since they are something new. We will see how long that lasts.

Susan I am sorry to hear that your DD is having a rough time in middle school. I hated middle school. I hope your talk will help her.

Hi Laurie and LaLa!! Have a great night.

Hi Everybody! I feel so out of it. I´m lucky to get here once a week. I started weights again last week and sure do have DOMs, even with light weights!. Went skating for 2 days, preparing for the Grammas inline 1/2 marathon with my DD20.

Today it rained, so instead of skating (afraid it would be slippery!) so went for a 30min run. Felt good

Am busy at school. Have almost 160 student :( Also am taking an online class...when I get busy, I get busy!

Karen, 37 degrees??? Yipes! Any you ONLY ran 6 miles???

Dani, hope DH gets used to the bed. I have a tempur pillow and LOVE it.

Sue, Hope your feeling out of your funk! And congrats to DS! It´s fun to watch our kids perform.

Susan, good idea for some time with DD. Middle School IS hard. Is she involved in any clubs or anything? Plus, as you noted, besides all the stuff going on at school that´s just the age when they quit talking to us :(

Laurie, congrats on DD15 and her XC time! Wow, going to HC with a Sr!. I like group dates :)

Have a great weekend, all!

Good Friday Morning!

Busy day ahead so I thought I better write before I forget! After work I have errands to run and then pick DD up from her school dance. Then DH and I have a Birthday party to go to (again!). Hopefully we won't stay as long as the last party!:p I hope to get S/H Triceps done somewhere in between! Took Ruby for a nice 40mn walk today. It was very humid though! My weekend is kind of quiet. DS has a football game. I might take the kids to a "Day on the Farm" where they can milk a cow, shear a sheep, go on a hay ride etc... It's free but the donations go to St.Judes. This family lost their 18 month old son to a brain tumor about 7 years ago and have been doing this in his memory... Let's just hope for no rain!

Lala, 160 students! WOW! No wonder you're busy Plus taking a class! Yikes! I hope you have a restful weekend!

Dani, do you like yoga? I have tried it in the past and did not like it. That's when I switched to Pilates which I love!

Have a good day, Sue, Laurie and Karen!

Bye for now- Susan

Good Morning,

Today I am doing 4DS legs and CC on the spin bike or run:confused: DS15 team lost 9-1 to Eau Claire yesterday. DS12 did well for his first race. I think it was a little over 2 miles and he finished in 11 min. He wasn't happy but he's never even run before he started this two weeks ago. Do you think his ankles hurt because he doesn't have good running shoes? DD5 is feeling better, just stuffy now. DS15 is frustrated his coach won't play him very much so he is contemplating quitting soccer. His coach is not nice. I have had a few conflicts with him over the years as he is the head of the soccer association in Rice Lake. I think he is taking his dislike for me out on DS15. DB and SIL are coming at noon today with their DD6. Should make for a fun weekend. Probably won't get any workouts in this weekend. I guess I'd better get going if I want to fit one in this morning also.

Susan, sorry DD is not liking Jr. High. I didn't like it either. It's hard to find your place to fit in at that age. I hope she opens up to you during your mother/daughter time.

lala, let us know how your race goes this weekend. It will be fun to hear about it. You are one busy lady. You do have a full load. Glad you are enjoying your runs.

Dani, you did yogaX and I didn't even hear any complaining. You must love yoga. Nice job and adding KM portion onto that too. Way to go.

Hi Laurie and Sue hope you have wonderful weekends.

Morning BB's,

Yesterday was not my day! I was very busy at work, and besides that TTOM arrived and I was a terribly crabby crabby person! Is that a good excuse or not! :D But as you can tell I am over all that this morning! :D  It still amazes me how your body can go from one extreme to the next in only 24 hours.

Karen, I did a LOL about you only running 6 miles. That is a great time for your DS, and yes I would think that his running shoes might be a problem. His he running a lot on grass or hard surface? Find out what stores the school recommends, those stores usually give discounts for students. If that doesn't help he might have to have his ankles taped up!

Susan, So sorry to hear that your DD is not enjoying Middle School. I had the same response from my DD15 when she first started MS too. One of the main things I had to constantly tell her during her time there was "It doesn't matter what these kids think of you, in 6 years you will never see them again" Of course that only helps a little bit. :( The one thing that helped her so much, was getting involved in some activity at school.

Lala, Well DD15 is no longer going to the dance with the Senior. He must have gotten hassled about it. He told my DD that he could not go with her! She was a bit hurt at first, but I'm sure there will be other boys ready to ask. Oh the drama! But the excuse he used was so bad! "I don't know you that well" WHAT!

Dani, I'm so glad you are enjoying P90X. I think I have a crush on Tony! :D And once you are done with P90X, you can go onto P90X+. The ab workout in the plus series is even harder than Ab Ripper X!

Sue, Oh so we are sisters in TTOM! ;) By the end of the day those sweat pants are the first things I put on when I get home. Sounds like you may not have been as crabby as I was though!

Have a great day!

Laurie

Karen - You are too sweet! Thanks for saying those nice things.

Susan - My DD is in her 2nd year of middle school and it was a hard adjustment for her, too. She has glasses and braces plus she's very smart so gets called a nerd a lot. She's also very shy although she did make a couple good friends last year. Laurie's idea of getting involved in something is a good idea. It'll be good for you two to have a chance to talk. Even if you can't resolve her problems, I'm sure she'll feel better. No one can replace "Mom" for a girl to girl heart to heart. :)

Laurie - What a jerk that boy is asking her out and then saying he "didn't know her well enough." Lame, lame, lame. I'm sure there are lots of other boys who'd love to take her if a SENIOR was interested in her. She should take that as a compliment. You're probably somewhat relieved though. I know I'd be. ;) Want to hear something ironic about TTOTM? I was feeling crampy and bloated the first day (crabby, too!) and when I came home from work DD wanted to talk to me as I was making dinner. She gets concerned from time to time that "Aunt Flo" hasn't come to visit her yet and has visited ALL the other girls in her grade (which I'm sure isn't true). I told her to be grateful because it's miserable!! LOL She just looked at me and stared.

I got to bed late again so slept in an extra half hour (still only gave me 6 1/2 hours). Had a killer headache but knew I wouldn't have time tonight to workout and I really needed, too. Sucked it up, took 2 aspirin and did Step 'n Intervals cardio. Better than nothing. It felt good once I got going. It's just the getting-going part that's hard sometimes - especially at 4:30 a.m.! Hope to make up for it this weekend with some real kickbutt routines.

Today is our 16th wedding anniversary. DH and I are going out for dinner somewhere. I'm sure he'll ask me to pick so I better start thinking of places.

Everyone have an awesome weekend.

Happy 16th Anniversary, Sue!! Whatever you decide to do, I hope you both enjoy yourselves!

My DD is going to be joining Forensics so she's excited about that. Thay also have an Art Club she is going to join. So maybe once these get goin she'll feel a bit better.

Way to go on getting up early Sue! It's hard for me to do step aerobics that early! I feel clumsy!:p

Laurie, that does stink that the boy cancelled on your DD but I am sure someone more suitable will ask her!

Take care- Susan

Laurie, sorry about DD hope she finds someone she would rather go with and have a great time.

Sue Happy Anniversary!! Hope you have a wonderful day. Let me know where you went out to eat.:D

My dad posted more pictures in my album if anyone wants to see first day pictures and some of Ryan's cross country meet.

Have a g reat weekend.

Karen - We went out to Thunder Bay Grill. It was delicioius. I had top sirloin, sweet potato, salad, yummy dinner rolls and a nice glass of Reisling. :D We came home and watched "Charlie Wilson's War" which was very good. Oh, and DH bought me a bicycle helmet so now we all have helmets again. (Mine was stolen with my bike a couple of years ago so I always borrowed DH's until we went for that ill-fated bicycle ride in July where he broke both his elbows and luckily did not hit his head since I was wearing the helmet and not him.)

Good morning Ladies,

Yesterday was a long day. DH and I did back and legs then ab ripper. You should of seen the sweat pour off of him. It was very gross. Then I spent time with my DS who isn't enjoying pre-k. I guess he was ok for only a short while then he said he wanted to go home. Then he had a temper tantrum and said he didn't want to go on Thurs. so his dad didn't take him. I guess I should explain that my DS is from a previous marriage. My ex has primary placement but we have joint custody. I was deployed to Iraq when he was 6mos and my ex filed for divorce. When I got back he was 2 and then got very sick. He had to have a liver transplant and we are so lucky to have him still here. At that time I decided it was in his best interest to stay with his Dad. I didn't want anymore stress on him. It was a hard decision. It was a rough period in my life. Anyways enough about that.

Karen-I love all the pictures of your gang. They are all so cute. And yes I love yoga. I have Mark Blanchard's progressive yoga and did that for a long time. So I have to say I thought Tony's was pretty easy, I did struggle with the reverse half moon. One note about the progressive yoga series is that they are hard but Mark's personality is kinda gross. He creeps me out sometimes but it is such a great workout.

Laurie-I did not know what TTOM stood for. LOL I figured it out. I crave chocolate. It is horrible and great at the same time. I get really crabby right before it comes. And yes I can see how you have a crush on Tony. He is so dorky with his comments that he just cracks me up. I was afraid that I would not be able to do p90x but I am pleasantly surprised. I am struggling on pull ups. I can do about a whole 2 and I am learning to loath Dreya.

Sue-Happy Anniversary!! 16 years wow. Glad to hear you like Thunderbay Grille. DH works about 2 minutes away from there. I heard it is very loud inside, but they have excellent drinks. I hope you enjoy your new helmet, me and DH still need to get one.

LaLa-You are doing a great job a getting back into working out. How fun in-line skating should be with you DD. You people who go running in the rain are very brave. I think I might melt. :D Are you a teacher? 160 students, yikes. You must be very patient.

Susan-I have done Pilate's and that is kinda how I felt, I didn't really like it but I really love yoga. I find it very relaxing. But I do power yoga so I am usually a sweaty mess afterwords. After I had Brae, it was something I could really get into and not take time away from her and have her join in. She was very funny when DH and I doing yoga cause as soon as I would go into plank she was on my back and stayed on until I went into downward facing dog. I got a little extra workout with her. Hopefully it is dry by you guys and you get to go to the animal farm today. Sounds like fun and what a great cause.

I must of felt chatty today:eek:! Everyone have a great weekend. OH today is kenpo x when DH gets home. Tomorrow is stretch day.

Karen - Love the pictures! Your kids look like they are very close. You reminded me that I need to take the camera to DS' football game today (if I make it - waiting for a call from work).

Sue

Dani - Sorry to hear DS doesn't like pre-K. Do you know why? Have you talked to the teacher? Poor little guy has been through a lot.

Cute story about DD lying on your back during planks.

Thunder Bay was pretty dead last night so not that loud. We were surprised that we walked in at 6 without reservations and didn't have to wait at all. Plenty of open tables. Where does your DH work? I probably drive by every day on my way to work.

Enjoy KenpoX. I like that one because I feel like I'm actually fighting someone when I do moves like claw, hammer.

Time to get going. Talk later!

Today is an easy day, we just have stretch x. Then it is off to a packer party. Go Pack!!! I am going to have a cheat day on eating. We made a triple layer brownie cake to bring over to our friends house. We did it from scratch so I hope it tastes ok.

Sue-I am afraid that my son is very spoiled. They even made the decision that my ex's mother could not take him to pre-k since she lets him do whatever he wants. She made it clear that she is there to serve him. At least when he is by me he is well behaved for the most part. He has had a few meltdowns. For the most part he is a normal healthy boy, but he has lived in a bubble for the majority of his life.

My DH works at Walter USA in the ridgeview pkwy. For awhile he was riding his bike to work and back again. And we live in West Allis.

Dani - That dessert sounds delicious! Have fun at your Packer party.

I'm guessing it's not too uncommon for a child who's had a serious illness to end up being spoiled. Everyone wants to try to make their life better and easier to compensate. It's good that you recognize that he is spoiled and try to provide balance.

My DS acts like a spoiled brat every now and then. Yesterday I bought him nachos and a hot dog at the football game, rented his trombone for the year (not cheap) and took him to Target so he could checkout the video games. (I had a few things to pickup anyway.) On the way home he asked if he could rent a video game from Blockbuster and I said "No, I spent enough money on you today." I was also tired and just wanted to get home. He pouted all the way home.

How the heck does your DH bike to Pewaukee from West Allis? I wouldn't even consider doing that from Waukesha! I do pass his way every day on my way to Menomonee Falls. I take either 164 or F.

I did most of CTX Upper Body premix today. After church I'll do biceps and then it'll be finished. Crossing my fingers I can do some ab work and other stuff, too. Lots of laundry to get done though. Ugh! I hate laundry.

Have a great day!

Hi gals,

Sue, Thunder Bay Grill sounds good. SIL says they have great potato soup. We are going down that way for a wedding in Oct. We will stay with SIL and Broher and they said we should go to the Chipolte place. Have you ever been there? Kids do expect a lot. I think when they get older, that's when they realize all you did for them. How did his football game go? I am happy you and DH both have helmets now. Glad you enjoyed the restaurant meal.

Dani, Well, it shoudl have been some Packer Party. What fun to watch with friends. Your dessert does sound really good. Sorry DS doesn't like Pre-K. It's bouind to get better. He is lucky to have a mom like you. Glad you are enjoying the P90X workouts.:D

Thanks for the nice comments about my family. They sure fight a lot but I do think they really love each other.
