Morning All,

I don't have much time today, had over 200 e-mails to get through. Now I have to get on our system and start submitting orders. Should keep me busy.

Vacation was great, and we even got to see my niece help in her teams win in a softball tournament. She played really well for a 13 year old. ;) She reminded me of my oldest sister back in the day. :)

Today was 30 day shred level 3 and a 30 min. run. I'm suppose to have only one more day of level 3, but during vacation I was not a good girl. Didn't get my workouts in like I wanted to. I ate bad also. But I took my measurements and weighed myself, and didn't do to badly. I plan on doing level 3 for the rest of this week.

Glad you all like My Fitness Pal, I think it is the easiest site I have been on as far as tracking what you eat.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Good day!:D

I was very laaaazzzzyyy this weekend! I walked both days for about 40mn and that's it!:p I was going to get on the elliptical when we got home yesterday but was just too tired. I think all that fresh air did it to me!;) I also went off my "clean eating" but am back on track this morning. Today I am going to do SJP. Will also do pilates later.

DS has a football camp this week. He's very excited. He's so small (55 pounds) so I am a bit of a worry wart!

Laurie, glad you had a nice vacation! We missed you!

Hi Karen! Saw the pic of your new puppy on FB! How cute!

Hi Lala!
Hi Sue!

Check back later - Susan

Laurie - I was wondering where you were last week. Do anything fun? Are you caught up yet on all your orders?

Susan - I wouldn't worry too much about DS at football camp. From what I've seen, the smaller kids can easily outrun and out-manuver the bigger kids. Our best receiver on DS' team last year weighed only 59 pounds (6th grade).

Hi Karen! Hi Lala!

DS starts football conditioning today. The weight training is over so no more early mornings for him for awhile. He's glad for that. I better stock up on groceries though. He's always so hungry after football practice.

On Saturday I did Boot Camp. The burpees are easier since I've been doing them in other workouts but those sequential power kicks still kill me. On Sunday I did Biggest Loser Cardio Blast (all 3 sections). This morning was Supersets.

Hi Sue! You did good workouts this weekend!:D Looks like the camp will be "no- contact" just teaching them the ropes pretty much! I have a feeling my DS will be a 59# 6th grader too! :D I need to add some meat on him! Wish I had his metabolism!

Good luck keeping your DS "fortified!" ;)

Good night!

Hi,

I didn't do anything over the weekend because the kids were gone and the puppy took up lots of time. I did Shred level 2 and 3 yesterday and added on 10 min of upper body from Boot Camp. Not a great workout but at least it was something. The kids had to keep the puppy away so he didn't keep attacking my shoelaces and licking my face.

Today I am going to try to do a shred and then our bike ride tonight.

Sue, I'll bet you are glad there are no more early practices also. Funny burpees still get me but I've never had problems with the sequential power kicks.

Susan, you did better than me on your workouts over the weekend. Hope DS has fun at football camp. Thanks about the puppy.

Off to Hunters Safety and Boaters Safety for the boys.

Have a wonderful day.

Hi! this past weekend we moved DD20 into her new apt. It is so cute. so while there, we went to a bullfrogs ball game and saw fireworks, went to Bay Beach, and ate A LOT:(:(.
Did get a 4.5 mi run in on the fox river trail, though.

Yesterday was terminater, the viper...as penance
Today I did hardcore extreme hi/lo

Laurie, you are brave to weigh yourself after a vacation. I wait a week!!
Karen, I´ll have to check FB and see your puppy...as you can tell, FB is not on my daily schedule!
Sue, Good workouts! When I see that football practice is starting, I know that I have to mentally prepare myself to get back to work:confused:
Susan, 40 minute walks are good! Although I know that for you, it is minimal! Hope DS enjoys his football camp!

Morning All,

Level 3 of 30 Day Shred, and CTX Kickboxing are done. So humid this morning, that I was really having a sweatfest! :D

Susan, LOL about missing me. :) I bet you DS does great at football camp, but it is a Mom's duty to worry. ;)

Sue, So how is the BL Cardio Blast? I was looking at Bob'b Bootcamp workout. The fun I had on vacation was just relaxing and enjoying being by a lake. My DB built a sauna (authentic Finnish), and is was great to go in there at the end of the day to sweat! :D Mom, the girls and I went to Hayward to get taffy one day! Dang that stuff is so good. :) And we went to Duluth to watch my niece play softball. This was the first time my parents where able to watch her play. :)

Karen, LOL on the puppy attacking your shoelaces. They must be very attractive toys when they are moving! :D

Lala, Oh I just have to torture myself, but if I didn't weigh myself then I would be "wondering".  WTG with the terminator as penance!

Have a great day!

Laurie

Hello there!:D

Today was walking for 40mn and pilates for 70mn. The scale was up 3 pounds yesterday after camping but it was gone this morning! Nice what 1 good clean eating day can do! :)

Both kids have eye appointments this afternoon. DD thinks she wants contacts but then really likes some of the new, cute styles of glasses out there. I am hoping DS won't need glasses....

Karen, how old is the pup? Bet the kids are having fun!

Laurie, I am like you, I have to weigh-in after being gone or I wonder about it and drive myself nuts!

Hi Lala, sounds like you had a nice weekend. Hope you DD likes her new home!

Hi Sue!

Have a great day! Susan

Morning All,

Todays workout was Tracey Mallets Quick Fix Mind Body Blast A&B, Upper Body Blast A and a 30 min run. After work will be Level 3 of the Shred, but if I don't get it done no big deal. :) I'm doing another experiment again. :) Keeping my basic 30 min workouts, but trying different instructors. Got these workouts for $12 so I'm going to try these out for the next 5 weeks. Then I'm moving on to STS in September. Tracey's voice takes a little getting used to, but that really didn't bother me to much. Mind Body is Yoga/Pilates based, and the Upper Body work was Chest/Triceps & Abs on the stability ball. Each blast is 6 min., and I am extremly surprised that my abs are sore right now.

Susan, So did your DD decide on the contacts, and does DS need glasses? I am not able to wear contacts anymore, because they don't make a perscription strong enough for my astigmatism. :( Kind of a bummer walking around the faire half blind. Or should I say living in a fuzzy world. :D

Laurie

Hello! :D

Today is the ellipircal for 45mn and then ab work. The kids and I are also going biking on the nature trail.

Well, I was surprised to find out that both my DD and DS now need glasses! DS had started complaining at the end of the school year that he had a hard time seeing the board. This was when he was moved to the back row. Well, when I went into the appoinment with him I was surprised at how bad it was! I felt awful! Basically anything past arms length is too far for him. He is very excited about getting glasses though so that's good. DD decided to stick with glasses cause she doesn't think she's "repsonsible" enough yet for contacts. ;) Dr. said whenever she wants to she can have the contacts. We'll probably wait until Middle School for DS to get contacts though.

Laurie, I would think it would be hard to walk around half blind! :p Enjoy your new rotation!

Hello to the rest of you lovely ladies!

Have a great day! Susan

Susan - Both my kids need glasses. DS wears contacts for sports so we don't have to worry about him breaking his glasses. DD tried contacts but decided it was too stressful to learn how to put them in and take them out. They make lots of cute glasses nowadays. DD is after me for a new pair but we just got new lens for her new prescription a few months ago. Plus we've used all our flex spending for the year. She'll have to wait.

Laurie - I'd be blind walking around without glasses or contacts, too. Relaxing on a lake sounds nice. And you HAVE to eat taffy and othger good stuff when you're on vacation. Really, it's a rule. ;) On BL Cardio Max, I like Bob's section which is the longest (20 min.) Don't care much for Kim's or Jillian's sections (each 10 min.). I did them but Bob's was much more fun and makes me sweat. Kim and Jillian's sections are tougher but don't click with me.

Lala - It feels like school has already started! Between football practice and band camp I'm spending more time at school than ever! Went to a 2 hour meeting last night on the new grading procedure. Lots of very vocal parents upset their kids won't do well because they have test anxiety and don't test well. Homework will count no more than 10% of the grade. No more bogus extra credit (e.g. bringing in a box of tissues and earning points). My kids, on the other hand, will do well with the new system. Are you familiar with the Equal Interval scale? Grading 0-4 rather than 0-100%? Just curious if your school district is going to it. A lot of the local districts around here are.

Karen - How was the group ride last night?

I did Leslie 4 Fast Miles this morning.

This am was GS legs plus a 3mile run.

Susan, my DDs have glasses and contacts, but not my DS(23), although, who knows, maybe he should have his eyes checked. I'll have to suggest that to him!
And, yes, there sure are lots of cute glasses. They are like an accessory nowadays, so lots of kids like having them!

Sue, Interesting about your school district. We have been adjusting and fine and not so fine tuning our grading system for the past couple of years. We are right there with you re: homework and extra credit and there is talk and controversy about the 0-4 system as opposed to the percentages. What is your take on that?

Laurie, you find so many instructors. I'm always afraid I'll get a DVD that I never use. Where do you get your suggestions from? I *heart* going up north ! We love that area, especially duluth!

Karen, how was the bike ride? Love the pics of your puppy!!

Karen,

Hi

Lala, glad you got DD moved in. Does she like her place? I am tired just reading what workouts you did. Do you like running on trails better than the road? We biked 45 miles last night. Also did NMTZ with Jillian in the morning. Thanks about Snickers.

Sue, my DD ran out or her contacts and forgot to order. They said she needed another eye exam before they would give her more.

Susan, hope you had fun on the bike ride. You guys are really doing fun things this summer. You sure do lose weight quickly.

Laurie, glad you enjoying new instructors. They seem to be challenging your body in different so you are losing inches all over.

Off to the ortho for DD16. Just got back from Hunters Safety and Boaters Safety.

Take care and enjoy your day.

Lala - I think with a 0-4 system there will be fewer Fs but also depending on how difficult the Rubric is, there could be fewer As as well. Or possibly more As if it's too easy. It sure puts more workload on the teachers to develop these Rubrics. DH asked the question of how they expect this to effect GPAs (grade point averages) and they said in districts where they've aleady implemented the new grading system, they haven't seen a noticeable change. It'll be interesting to see how this goes.

Karen - Is Snickers your new puppy? Cute name.

Morning All,

This morning was TM's Quick Cardio Total Body Blast B&C, Abs Blast A and KCM's 30 MTF Kickboxing #1 with 1lb weighted gloves. OK do any of you notice that your legs look great when they are in the air! While doing ab work this morning I just loved how my legs looked. Is it because the fat on my legs moved? :D :D :D All I know is that the legs (while doing ab work) are looking better and better, so that must mean something right! :p

Susan, Oh my on your DS's vision. When I first got my glasses I kept taking them off, because I was surprised how a leaf on a tree actually looked from so far away! LOL! Yes I probably was as bad as your DS. ;)

Sue, I kind of knew that I probably wouldn't like Kim's section of the workout. To bad about Jillian's though. May take a look at the clips on Bob's workouts. I heard some good things about his Yoga DVD too. I to would be interested in how they would do the GPA.

Lala, I check out numberous web sites that read reviews before I even buy a workout. Over the years I have only had one instructor that I didn't click with, and that was Amy Bento (well Chalene from Turbo Jam also). Collage and Amazon have helped me a great deal, and I also look at VF for reviews. The reason I pick these workouts, where because they incorporated circuits, weights and yoga/pilates. I realized that I needed to get more streching in, so now the experiment begins again. :D I also read her book Sexy in 6 (I know weird title), and figured why not try it out. Maybe I'm just a big sucker! :D

Karen, You have been running all over this summer with the children's appointments/activites. Makes me tired just thinking about it. :D Snicker's is a cute name, how has the training been going? I'm hoping these current workouts will do the same. Was quite leary that they wouldn't challenge my body because they are so short, but so far so good. Well it really has only been two days! :D :D But DOMS must mean something right?

Laurie

Good Morning,

Today I ran 7 miles. Yesterday was Lauren's kettlebell workout and Boot Camp cardio only premix.

Laurie, training the dog is not going well. Any tips on anything would be appreciated. Who cares what position your legs look good in as long as they look good. Bob's yoga workout is a good one. I think in is challenging but not so long like P90X yoga. Glad you have DOMS. Always a good thing.

Off to the vet again and then to pick up DS from HS.

Have a wonderful day.

Hi everyone! today was GS BBS. We are celebrating DD20's soon to be 21 bday today so I am making her cake!

Great run, Karen! Are you going to take Snickers to obedience school? that's where I learned all I know about training dogs...but Tank was already well-trained, he just needed some fine-tuning...well, actually, I did!

Laurie, LOL about the legs! And it's true. But on the other hand, I hate my legs when I'm doing the downward dog stretch :( Maybe that's why I don't like that stretch:D thanks for the ideas for new DVDs.

Sue, I've heard that too, about the grading scale...but does that just water things down?

Hi Susan, I'm sure you are doing some great workouts!

Hi there! My DS has not been sleeping well lately and unfortunately that means I have not been sleeping well either. So once again today, I over slept!:( Did a little pilates and got the kids up and ready to go pick out their glasses. They both will look very cute when they get them! I'll post pics! We also got about 90% of the school supplies bought too! That was nice. Just have about 4 things I couldn't find.

After we got home I took Ruby for a long walk on that nature trail we were on yesterday. We went for over an hour. She was sooooo tired! She also found a mud puddle so she had a bath as soon as we got home! Funny, she walked right in the bathroom, laid down in the tub and waited for me to turn on the cool water! She was so good. Now she's clean and smelling nice!:)

Laurie, you're workouts have been so good lately! I was just thinking the same thing about my legs yesterday whe I had them up in the air while doing pilates! LOL! I have a feeling yours are getting very toned by all those awesome workouts you're doing!

Karen, way to go on those 7 miles! Good luck training Snickers! I know those first months are the hardest!

Hi Sue!

Hi Lala! Have fun celebrating with DD! Enjoy that cake!

Hi,

Today I am doing Shred level 2& 3 and STS legs disk 3. Hopefully I have time.

Lala, enjoy your celebration. Happy Birthday to your DD. 21, what a big number. I take Snickers out in the morning and he doesn't go to the bathroom. The minute I bring him in, he goes. I love the GS workouts. Some of my all time favs.

Susan, glad you had a good time on your walk. Funny how your dog wanted to be clean. It was a nice day for a long walk. I will be great to see pics of your kids with their glasses. I haven't started school shopping yet. I better get busy.

Hi Sue and Laurie.

Enjoy

Morning All,

Today was TM's Mind Body Blast B&C, Upper Body Blast B (Back/Biceps/Abs) and 30 min run.

Supposed to be a hot weekend, so think of me in my 30 lbs of dress.

Karen, Thanks for the info on the yoga, will put that one on my wish list. As far as training, we just went through our local humane society. They had an inexpensive program. If you are having the potty training issue, then all I can say is set a timer. :D Just like I did with my children. :D

Lala, Happy Birthday to your DD. Another Leo! We seem to be having so many donuts around here for all the Leo's birthdays. Of course I will not be bringing in donuts next week! Oh the temptation. ;) I just close my eyes during downward dog.

Susan, Sorry to hear that you DS is not sleeping well. LOL about Ruby being so tuckered. That is how Cami is after her doggy daycare. I didin't hear a peep out of her last night. :D

DD16 and I went to a movie last night, and it was rated R. Well it's rating was correct, but of course DD said that everything in the movie was already things she has heard from school and friends! We saw the Ugly Truth, and it involved a lot of words that describe body parts/sex! Funny movie, probably because it was all true! Just more sex education for the DD!

Laurie
