BUFF BADGERS 8/25 - 8/29

Morning BB's,

I only managed to get in 4 miles yesterday before I had to get ready for my hair app't, so this morning I ran the other 3 miles. I was going to run with Cami, but DD11 woke up and joined me on the 5am walk. Now you may ask why my usual sleepy head would be up that early. My oldest babysits a 9yr old, and sometimes she stays the night with us. Well last night she wet the bed, and she was sleeping with DD11. :( DD11 wasn't able to go back to sleep, so she came with me on the walk. :D Guess she will be tired tonight! ;)

Today DH and I have been married 20 years. Doesn't seem like it, but then again sometimes it does. :D Since DD11 has to register and have her pictures taken for school tonight, we plan on doing something to celebrate tomorrow.

Karen, Glad the tandem ride went well for you, bet you two will do great on Sunday! OMW you sure do have a day of running around today! I have been reading a series by the author Jack Cavanaugh, and I'm on the 6th book in the series called The Allies. There has been only one book in the series that was a bit slow to start, but overall they have been really good page turners. :D I think there are 3 books left to read. DD15 had a great time at Six Flaggs, but said that one of the new rides (can't remember which one) was boring. :D:D LOL

Dani, Just checked out the pics of your DD, and she is adorable! I love the candid shots. I also have the workbook for P90X, if you ever want to read what's what.

Sue, I think those magazines have helped me a great deal to keep on track. I have not read any for over a month, and I can tell that I'm not as motivated as I normally am. Sounds a bit strange when I type it out, but they do inspire. ;) Oh I really love Mega Step Blast, that was one of the first Cathe step workouts I ever did. :)

Lala, Hope your day is going well, so cool that you teach Spanish!

Have a great day!

Laurie

Dani - So you like Starbucks, too? I'm too cheap to have it very often but when I'm on vacation I like to treat myself. DD13 and DS11 love their Caramel Macchiatos but they only get decaf or it keeps them awake at night.

Karen - No, I'm not following a rotation for these oldies - I just do whatever I'm in the mood for. It must be more pleasant to go for your bike rides with the cooler weather we've been having. What time is your race on Sunday?

Laurie - Oh, your poor DD11! It was probably nice to have the company on your walk this morning even if you didn't get your 3 miles in. Happy Anniversary! 20 years is quite an accomplishment. Hope you do something special.

Hi Lala & Susan! :)

Did Butts & Gutts Standing Glutes & Abs Timesaver 49 min. Haven't done this one in awhile so I hope I can walk tomorrow.

Good afternoon Sue, the race is at 10am. We are dropping the kids off at church half hour early and then we will pick them up when we are through. Good thing we are having a cook out after church incase we are not there right on time. B&G should leave you some good DOMS. Have a great day.

Hi ladies! Wow, the weather the past few days has just been awesome here! Love it!! It looks like perfect camping weather for us this weekend too!:D

Today has been a busy day! I applied for and got a job at the High Scool in town as their cashier in the cafeteria. I had to go in already today from 8-12:30. Tomorrow they are having a District area breakfast at 7:30 I have to go to and then a meeting! All this stuff to learn and remember! My mind is going crazy! My hours will be 9:30-2pm!

I walked Ruby for 40mn this morning I am on my way down to do CTX Kickbox cardio followed by my own bicep/tricep/ab work.

Laurie, Happy Anniversary! 20 years is a great accomplishment! Hope you have fun celebrating!

Karen, you are going to be pooped tonight after all that running around!

Sue, I can just see you doing the "funky" walk tomorrow morning! Hope you won't be too sore!

Dani, my DS8 loves to come downstairs and lift weight with me. I bought him his own set of 2,3,5 pound weights. He does pushups (even one handed!) and jumping jacks and even gets on my elliptical! It's good to see that we are setting healthy examples!

Hi Lala!!

Well, I best be on the move- Susan:D

Hello Rough, Tuff, and Buff Badgers,

Today I just finished doing Slim and Lean. Every time I do the push up segment I just think of the STS preview and try to do my best. It was a good workout. I was able to get off early today, we are having a slow week. Me, DH, and DD got to spend some family quality time together and then I fell asleep on the couch.

Laurie-Congratulations on 20 years. That is wonderful. I hope you enjoy whatever you and your DH decide to do.

Sue-I love Caramel Macchiatos. That is my normal, with skim. The one dairy I usually do have. Only if they had low fat soy milk. I have the card right now where there cold drinks are two bucks after 2. I just get that cold and fully decaffeinated.

Susan, LaLa, and Karen waving Hi to you guys. Hope everyone has a great day.

Oh I was curious if anyone is running in Race for the Cure at the end of Sept. My Dad, DH, and me are doing it.

Dani - The race looks like a wonderful event. I had to go look it up since I hadn't heard much about it. Are you doing the 5K run? I like the fact they have 2 different start times for the runners so the serious runners can go first and the people like me who only run a few dozen (if that) times a year can go later. Are you a good runner?

Susan - I'm already walking like a duck tonight! LOL Good 'ol B&G didn't let me down. :D

Susan, congrats on the job. That is exactly the type of job I am looking for. How neat that DS comes to workout with you. Hope your meeting went well and your brain didn't explode.

Dani, glad you got to spend some time with your family. Good you got some extra rest also. You will do fine with STS. Cathe will push you through.

Laurie, what are your plans for tonight. Are you and DH going to get a chance to celebrate your anniversary a day late.

Sue, how are you feeling today. Are you walking funny.

lala, hope you are getting things squared away at school.

DD16 is getting contacts today. DH approved them and she is willing to pay for them.

Have a great day.:)

Morning Coolers,

No workout for me yet, this week has been horrible for my workouts. :( Came in early today because I need to leave around noon to get DD15 to the HS for her first meet. Then I have to head back to work. Today was registration, and her normal ride to school is going to be at the registration before the bus leaves. Oh well, just more running around for me. DH alread took her to get registered so at least we don't need to do that to. :)

We where at DD11's registration until 8:30 last night, just waiting for pictures to be taken ovall I think we where there for over 2 hrs. Compare that to DH's experience this morning of only 30 min. :(

Susan, Congrats on the new job, and such great hours. ;) You and your family will have some wonderful weather this weekend for camping. Bring extra blankets along just in case it gets really cold at night. Leson learned from Lala! :D

Karen, Don't know yet if we will be doing anything tonight. It is not working out well for us so far. DH didn't get DD15 up early enough for the registration. I told him before I left that it would take her some time to get ready for her pictures. :D He didn't listen. So now he is going to have to work later than usual. We can always do something next week if necessary. Once your DD16 gets the right perscription, try out 1-800-Contacts. They really are less expense for the same product.

Dani, Isn't it nice when you can all get together as a family, and I have more times than I can count been on the couch sleeping away. :D

Sue, So how are you walking today? LOL! ;) Are you still being a duckling?

Thanks everyone on the congrats for the 20th. Oh and I think DD11's teacher must be 25yrs old. DH said "When did they start letting high schoolers teach school!" LOL!

Have a great day!

Laurie

Laurie - Waiting around at registration for those pictures is no fun, I agree. DS waited 90 min. in line to get his picture taken last week even though they said in the newsletter "The lines will go quickly since we'll have 3 photographers". Ha! What they didn't count on is that parents would look at the preview of the digital image and have the picture retaken again and again. They need to come up with a better process for getting pictures taken. Some people just left the line and said they'd have their son/daughter take them on picture retake day.

Karen - DS11 got contacts for football and he's doing better than I thought he would. We had a little drama on Saturday before his scrimmage when his contacts wouldn't go in but hasn't had trouble since. I got contacts myself when I was 16 which means I've been wearing them for 13 years. ;) Okay, more like 28 years.

No workout yet today. I got paged at 10:15 last night with a critical hardware error. Had to call someone else and wake them up (which they weren't too happy about) and then she called me back after midnight so it was not a good night's sleep.

Tonight's a running around night so I don't know if I'll do anything. The good news is I'm OFF TOMORROW! :D :D :D

And yes, I'm walking funny today. :p

Hi ladies and thanks for the Congrats! Today I was in meetings for a total of 5 hours and yes, my mind is mush! We have to leave here soon to go to DS8's Open House. I saw his new teacher today and she is about 23, if that! I think he'll like her. Last night was the Middle School open house and that went alright. I am just tired and have so many things to get done for the weekend!!

Well, I got up to take Ruby for a walk but we had to cut it short cause it started raining! I am hoping to do some leg/shoulder work tonight but I'm so tired I am not taking any bets on it! :p DD is at a sleep over so it's kind of quiet here right now...

Tomorrow I hope to get up early and get my work out in. Then I need to run out and buy our new vanity and sink for the new bathroom! Once DH installs it, it'll be about 95% complete! It'll be usable but he'll need to put up the floor boards and some other odds and ends. I am very glad to see a light at the end of the tunnel on this project!

I'll talk later!

Susan:eek:

Hello All,

I did cardio fusion today and was beat. In the middle of it I put my head under the faucet and finished the dvd with a wet head. DH was on his way to work and he looked at me and said just don't over do it. I was spoiled with the last couple of days of cool weather. We need an air conditioner. I am just lucky that this was a pretty decent summer, not to hot.

Susan I am glad you are enjoying your new job. You will get your mind back soon. :D I checked out the bodybuilding.com site and it did have alot of information on it.

Sue I am going to do the 5k untimed run and no I don't run. I ran for awhile after my DD was born but it is not my favorite thing to do. Before I had children I ran all the time, but that was due to being in the military. Now that fall is approaching I might try to incorporate it back in to my workouts. Sorry to hear about the late night page. That stinks.

Listening to everyone get their children ready back to school, I don't think I am ready for that. We are still in the debate of where to send my DD. I would like to send her to a private school where my DH is more for the public school. He is from Ohio and I don't think he realizes how bad the school systems are in the milwaukee area. I guess they are not that bad but I went to MPS and I remember the teachers not caring very much. At least we have time to decide what to do.

Everyone have a goodnight!!

Dani - We went thru the debate of whether to send our kids to public school or Catholic. I went to Catholic for 1st - 8th. DH would have gone to Catholic, too but he had a speech problem so had to go to public in Wauwatosa for speech therapy. The rest of his family went to Catholic. We are fortunate in that we happen to have almost in our backyard one of the best elementary schools in Waukesha which is why we chose public for our kids.

Well, we're off to Wisconsin Dells!

Morning BB's,

Today was MM Upper body and yesterday I was able to do Kimberly Spreens Box-n-Flow. This on was short and sweet! :)

DD15 came in 10 for her race yesterday. The races where split up between Fresh/Soph and Jr/Sr. She was the first girl from her team to cross, and when you combined all the times she was the 4th on her team. I'm so happy to have a less stressed child. She talked to her coach afterwards to, because he was a bit disappointed in her times. He was proud of her, but told her she could do much better. ;)

Sue, Have a great time at the Dells today!

Dani, Both DH and I have been through public schools, and our DD's are also. Our DD's are in the Mukwonago district, and so far I have been very happy with the education that my DD's have gotten. I wouldn't recommend Big Bend for elementary though. Was not happy with that school. It is one of those things that you need to ask around. :)

Susan, So you where the only ones to get the rain! It looked like we would get some all day long yesterday, but it didn't happen. :( Very dry yard is what we have. Have a great time camping this weekend.

Karen, Hope your day is going well.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Good Afternoon,

Wow what a beautiful day!!! I got the P90X Woo Hoo! So I am thinking that I will do my slim and lean today and then take off the rest of the weekend and start P90X on Tuesday. It will give me time to preview the DVD's and see what I am in for.

Sue-Have fun at the Dells. You have a great day.

Laurie-Congrats on your DD. It sounds like she did great. Plus it is nice to get her less stressed. Thankyou for your input about your schools too.

Susan and LaLa Hi.

Everyone have a great Holiday weekend. Off for three days, I am excited and am looking forward to sleep.

Hi there!

Well I did not get my workout in yesterday so I will do legs, shoulders, abs today. I am trying to pack for our camping trip as well. The family wants to leave after supper tonight but I say right after breakfast tomorrow. I just don't like to be rushed when it comes to packing! Then I forget stuff!

Laurie, sounds like you DD did a fine job at her meet. She'll get better as time goes on.

Dani, have fun with P90x! And enjoy your weekend!

Hi Karen!

Hi Lala!!

Have a wonderful weekend and hope you get to enjoy the great weather!

Susan:)

Greetings! Well I think I'm ready for tues. Did a 6 mi run today and felt so accomplished.
Susan, let me add my congratulations for your job. Nice hours!

Laurie, sound like you got some good workouts in this week. and that DD is off to a good start in her meet (Xcountry, right?)

Dani, All in all WI schools are very good, but I can't speak at all for MPS, but sounds like you are getting good advice.

Sue and Karen, hi and have great lOOOOONnnnng weekends:D:D
