Hi ladies! Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!

Saturday I did M.E. and took the kids to the beach. Sunday I jumped on the elliptical for 45mn and relaxed!

Today is BodyMax.

Take care and try to stay cool! Susan

Morning BB's,

Today will be the KM Low Impact Timesaver that I wasn't able to do on Friday. I went grocery shopping, made dinner, and had visitors. :)

DH gave our guilde a talking too. I was proud of him, but had to interupt when he dropped the F bomb. But it was a much better weekend. DH confessed that it was the first weekend that his head felt like it wasn't going to explode.

Susan, Saturday was a great day for the beach. It was quite humid for us. Bodymax sounds like a great workout for today.

Karen, So what did your DH have in store for you yesterday to get ready for the time trial?

Sue, Did you get HP done? How was the baseball tournament? Now that the season is almost done, they are probably playing much better.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Susan - Glad you had a nice weekend.

Laurie - Glad your weekend at the Faire went better. If DH only used the F word once he couldn't have been too mad. ;-) Ever see an episode of the Sopranos? It's a regular part of their vocabulary.

Karen - Did you survive DH's training regimen?

It was baseball on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday and then a picnic with all the families on Sunday afternoon. Our team lost all 3 games.:-( It's frustrating because each game starts out well and then we fall apart. On Saturday our pitcher struck out the first 3 batters in the 1st inning and it looked like it was going to be a good game but the pitchers get tired and start throwing wild balls and the catcher can't stop it and players are walked and bases stolen, yada yada. Pitching and fielding are 2 areas our boys really need to work on. The coaches are talking about starting practices for next year in September already. At least I finished the HP book while I was sitting around waiting for games to start so now that won't be keeping me up late at night. I really enjoyed it.

I fit in Turbo Jam Punch, Kick & Jam on Saturday but that was it for the weekend. This morning was NYC. It's only the 2nd time I've done this one and I haven't decided if I like it or not. She really works the triceps and chest and back is okay but the biceps, shoulders and legs don't feel very worked out. I hope to do some cardio tonight but have a lot to do getting ready for our trip.

Sue

Good Afternoon BB's,

Took a few of the kids to VBS this morning and did some school supply shopping. We went 62 miles on Fri, he went and help his brother move on Sat-unexpected and Sun we went for a recovery ride 20 miles. He left this morning mad so I don't know the plan for today. Just in case, I am not scheduling a workout. I'll get some cuboard cleaning done.

Susan, sounds like you had and enjoyable weekend. Is there a beach close to your house.

Laurie, I am glad things are going better at the faire. That has to be stressful for both of you. How are the girls liking it?

Sue, hope you had fun at the tournament. I guess you can make a race out of anything. I wish I could get the cute smilies to work, I'd have them in here a lot. It helps to know how people mean things sometimes.

Enjoy your day.

Sue we must have posted at the same time. Kelly's total body workouts remind me more of functional fitness but maybe a step above. At least they keep your heartrate up some. Will you son stay on his same team next year? I haven't done PKJ in a long time.

Hi there! Walking the dog at 6am and it was already hot! The kids asked me last night if I'd take them back to the beach today. Our small town has a man-made beach just 5 minutes from our home! We have a family pass so we go whenever we can. So that's where I'll be.

But first I'll get on the elliptical! However, the elliptical has a heart rate monitor. You wear the strap across your chest. Anyway, lately it has had a hard time reading my heart rate. It gets stuck or something. The last time I was on the "Extreme Heart Rate" workout, it was supposed to push me to reach 154 beats(85%), well it was stuck at 135 beats and just kept increasing my incline (to the max at 20!). Then all the sudden it kicked in and it read my heart was at 165! I thought I was gonna have a heart attack! Later that night, I did have a nightmare that I was lying on a gurney having an attack!! I read over the instructions but it didn't help. I am going to try a different workout with the strap today... Hopefully it'll work!

Stay cool-Susan

Morning BB's,

Don't know what my workout will be today again. I didn't get to do anything yesterday. My DH got his ribs put in by the chiro and he was in pain. I may just sneak something in incase he can't ride again tonight. Do you think I'll matter?

Susan, I can't get either of my heartrate moniters to take any reading from me. My DH can use them fine. I must be dead. Funny about your dream. Did you wake up scared? Have a fun time at the beach. I sure with we had a beach close to our house. Living on a lake you would think we would. Hope you can get your moniter to work.

Hi to Laurie, and Sue.

Have a nice day.

Morning BB's,

Today is suppose to be MM Upper Body Premix. I have an appointment to get my hair done, and then I a volleyball game tonight. It will probably be a late workout for me. Hope it isn't too hot tonight, then the energy will be none existant. :)

Susan, On the heart rate monitor, I know that mine was doing the same thing. Make sure that you put water on each of the sensors. Once I did that it started reading correctly. Unless you are already doing that I can be of no further help. :7 Have a great time at the beach, it is suppose to be a great day for doing just that.

Karen, Sounds like your DH is in some pain. Ouch! on the ribs. I know that there is a guy in our guilde that broke his rib, and he was in pain for over a week. Probably not a bad idea to get in a workout.

Sue, Wow they want to start practice already in Sept! Maybe they can find a place indoors to practice, and start again sometime in Jan or Feb instead. Batting cages or something are always fun for the kids. Are your kids getting excited about the trip? Will you be flying out to DC or driving? Either way is exhausting! :7

Have a great day!

Laurie

Susan - How convenient having a beach so close to your house! We have a couple nearby but with DS' ballgames and all the sun we get sitting outside, the beach hasn't appealed to us so far this summer - yet. Now that DS' games are over though that'll probably change.

Laurie - We're definitely going to look for an indoor place for the boys to practice baseball this winter - that's crucial. We go to the batting cages a lot, too, but I think DS has to practice hitting the fast hardballs instead of the slower hardballs. The coaches want to keep going this fall though so the boys don't forget everything they've learned this year. They'll probably only practice a handful of times before January when they'll kick it up a notch. DH wants to teach DS to pitch since we need pitchers. Even if he decides not to pitch, the training will improve his throwing so not a bad thing. Some of the boys will be playing football and basketball so we'll run into scheduling conflicts where not everyone can make it to practice. I think the main thing is that they stay active in a sport.

Yes, the kids are excited about the trip but I think they'll be even more excited when we get there. We are flying so we can maximize our vacation time and see as much as we can.

Karen - To add the smileys just click on the little icons to the left as you're posting a mesage. One thing to know is that they will insert at the end of your post regardless of where your cursor is. If you want to add a smiley further up in my post, just cut & paste to put it where you want. I think you're right about NYC being more functional fitness. I guess that's why I'm lukewarm on it. I did go heavier with the weights than last time but with the rep speed, you can't go too heavy. Is your DH going to be okay for the time trial this Saturday?

I did KPC/L&G premix this morning - Punch Kick Combos + Standing Legs 60 min. I am going to be soooooooooo sore tomorrow. . . I can already feel it. Great workout though.

Have a great day everyone.

Sue

Sue, I don't know if he will be able to race or not. My gut says he will anyway. That sounds like some workout. I am doing that one Mon. or sooner if we don't end up racing. Love both of those workouts.

Good Morning

Last night I ended up going 22 miles, recovery and tonight we will do the same length but with intervals. I got in a run and abs yesterday before the ride.

Hope things are going well for everyone. I am hoping the weather gets a little cooler by Sat.

Have a great day.

Morning BB's,

Today will again be an attempt at MM Upper Body Premix. We lost at volleyball last night, they had ringers playing for them. You don't need to introduce yourselves to each other if you had been playing together all summer! I was sitting there waiting for the game to start, and I could hear them making introductions. Really tall guys that could spike, but not that well. An old lady like me was digging their spikes. They killed us on the dinks over the net!

The hair appointment was for the DD's yesterday. Now they are ready for school to start! Oldest DD had hi-lites put in her hair. Of course she looks great. :)

Karen, So DH was working out last night? I am hoping for a cooler Sat. also. How many miles for the time trial? I know you told us before, but I'm to lazy to go back and look. :7

Susan, Sounds like the coaches want to get the fundamentals down for the boys. Good for them. Those fast pitch batting cages scare the you know what out of me. Those pitches are so fast. :D Do they have slow, med, and fast? Wouldn't that be nice! :D

Sue, How was the beach? Will you be heading out again today?

Have a great day!

Laurie

No beach for us today! Too many errands to run. Will be doing Cardio & Weights first though.

Laurie, I want to take my DD in to get her hair highlighted as well. Hopefully within the next week or so.I saw on the school calendar they have pics to be takes Sept. 13th!

Take care ladies- Susan

Laurie, too bad about the volleyball game. Not as much fun to play that way is it? My DD is getting her hair highlighted also next week. She is excited to be starting High School. She doesn't seem anxious at all. The timetrial is 50 miles. I hope you get MM premix in today.

Susan, have fun running around. I guess it's highlight time for everyone.

Susan - Hope you get all your errands done so you can enjoy the beach tomorrow (or some other fun thing to do with your family).

Laurie - That stinks that the other volleyball team felt they needed to cheat like that! On a lighter note, did I mention DS' baseball team brought in a "ringer" last week? 3 boys were on vacation so we were short 2 boys in the outfield. After getting creamed Tuesday night, the coach's wife brought in a 9 year old (so a year younger) for Thursday night's game. He was okay at fielding but struck out every time he was up to bat. The poor little guy even cried after his 3rd strike-out. Made you feel bad for him.

Karen - I kind of figured from what you've said about your DH that he would go ahead with the race. Is he feeling better? Have a good ride today. Are you resting on Friday so you'll be fresh for the race?

Did MM Upper premix this morning. Thanks for the idea, Laurie.;-)

Signed up the whole family for a year's worth of Tae Kwan Do lessons last night. I don't think DH and I will go very often but it costs the same for the 2 kids as it does the whole family. We'll probably arrange for the kids to go right after school and carpool with another family since one of DS' baseball buddies goes almost every day. The dojo recommends 2x a week and that's what my kids will do. DD has wanted to do this for a long time so is very happy. Both kids were taking lessons after school and made it up to green belts but for a lot of reasons this dojo will be much better. Tomorrow night we all have a lesson and the master instructor will decide what belt level the kids should be at.

Have a great day!

Sue

Sue, my DS9 took Tae Kwan Do for summer school. He seemed to like it. My DH took it years ago also. We will do a reg ride with efforts like race pace for some of the ride Fri to keep the legs ready I guess. I actually wish the race was over. You would be on your trip already too. It works well for all. DH is feeling a bit better.

Enjoy your day.

Good Morning,

Today is rest for me. The new workouts look great. Should be something for everyone.

Have to get the kids to VBS and DD14 to here pre-algebra class.

I haven't slept the last 2 nights. Not a good time to not sleep, right before a race.

Have a nice day.

Karen, I sure hope you can get some rest soon!

Today is my "off" day as well. I am watching my GF's 3 children again for her. She has 2 family members in the hospital, her MIL and SIL. So I told her I'd take her children so she could go be with them....

I might jump on the elliptical later though.....

Take care- Susan

Morning BB's,

Today is MM Premix #3 Lower Body and Yoga.

Had a great workout yesterday, even though it was a hot one outside. The only problem is that I was super hungry when I finished, and then started eating. x( I have to get better at my eating. OK new comittment today. :D

Karen, That has to be hard not sleeping. Are your kids enjoying VBS, seems like the theme this year is Avalanche Ranch. That is what I our church did, and I saw at least three other churches had it listed in the newspaper. :D

Susan, That is so good of you to do that for your friend. Hope you can get on your elliptical.

Sue, The Tae Kwon Do classes sound like lots of fun. How long do the classes last (as far as weeks)? I am looking for something that DD's can do this winter. Maybe that would be an option. Oldest DD is doing cross country and track, and youngest is doing ballet (only one class). I know that oldest DD would love it. Youngest may not want to, but it would be good for her. I will PM you later, and get the info on where you are taking your kids if that is OK.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Susan - Have a good day watching all the kids. Do you have anything fun planned?

Laurie - Go ahead and pm be about Tae Kwan Do.

Karen - This hot sticky weather we've been having is probably not helping your sleeping either. Enjoy your rest day. How far away are you from Minneapolis and the bridge that collapsed? What an awful tragedy. My heart goes out to all those people affected.

Did a 2 mile walk this morning. It just felt too sticky to jog this morning. I'll try to do something tonight - if nothing else, walk another mile or 2.

Have a great day!

Sue
