BUFF BADGERS 6/7-6/11

Morning BB's,

Today workout was STS Disc 28 Chest & Back. Saturday was a run, and Sunday was faire rehearsal so didn't really do anything as far as exercise.

Oldest DD's relay teams both came in 10th, so they did a great job. They really wanted to come in above 8th. Oh well, she still has next year. :D

Youngest DD's dance recital was really well done, and DD did a great job. Next fall she is going to be starting pointe, so is very excited about that too.

I think that is all for me, just hoping everyone had a great weekend too.
 
Laurie - Is it really almost time for Ren Faire again? Boy, a year went fast! Older DD should be proud of her performance at state and you're right - she still has another year. It'll be exciting watching your younger DD on pointe. That's always my favorite part of ballet.

Didn't do Musclemax until Sunday. Too busy with housework and other stuff. Did 3 Leslie miles this morning. Should really give 5 Fat Burning Miles dvd (Leslie) a rest but nothing beats it for a quick 100 calorie burn in 12 min. Well, maybe HIIT but you need a longer warmup and I don't always have time for a warmup!

Hope it's done raining for awhile. We had a mamma and daddy duck on our front lawn on Saturday. They must have thought they were in the wetlands with all the rain we had! Weren't moving too fast either when I went outside to take a picture. Mamma duck might have been pregnant.
 
I'm Baaaacccck! Sorry I did not post last week. Just having "one of those" weeks I guess! Don't remember what if any workouts I even did! Way too darn busy and my weekend was no better! However, there are only 3 more days of school left and then life will be a little less complicated! :D

Today I have soccer so it will be a walk and either the elliptical or pilates when we get home from the game. DD is not feeling well. Sore throat, aches etc... Not the way you want to end the school year!

Just a quick note before my battery goes dead...
My 10K was good...66 minutes which is slower than I would have liked, but not bad for me.

Sunday I spent 2 hours mowing!

Today was ME...I forgot how hard those endurance workouts can be!

Susan, hope DD is feeling better soon. I am done with school :D:D

Sue,. I hear you on the rain! 100 Calories in 12 minutes?? That IS a good workout!

Laurie, be sure to post a pic of your dress for this year!

Changed my workout this morning to STS Disc 37 Squat Rack Legs. What a great workout, and it was wonderful not to have to do low ends in one of Cathe's workouts. :D Really feeling my butt and outer thighs right now. My arms are a little sore too, that might be from the weight in the deadlifts. Cathe did say that the upper body is worked during that exercise. She also gave a great tip that I used to my advantage during the lunge exercise. If you can lift your toes on the forward leg, then you are doing your lunge correctly. ;)

Sue, Yep it is that season again. :p I agree with you on the pointe in ballet, and I'm glad that her teacher is starting her before she gets into HS. Good calorie burn you get in that workout.

Susan, Glad you where able to check in with us, and totally understand about having one of those weeks. ;) Hope your DD start to feel better soon.

Lala, WTG on the 10k! Sounds like a good time to me. ;) I think I would be just about where you are in time. I will have the same dress as last year, so probably should change my avitar so it is the proper dress. :D

HI again! I am hoping to get in BFBM today. DD is worse and I will have to take her to Immediate Care for strep test. Not a good way to end the school year! :( Ordered the Jillian workouts I don't have so I can start her rotation I found. Looking forward to it!

Laurie, sounds like you did get a good workout in this morning! I always like it when I really feel it in my glutes!

It's raining here so DS's baseball has been canceled! :) Oops, I think I am supposed to be sad about that! :( ;) He can be sad, but I am not! Got to watch Jillian's new show again tonight!

Today I got out Imax 3...it's been a long time and it was fun. I felt like I was able to do those tuck jumps better...maybe due to the Hiit?

Susan, funny about DSs game being cancelled ;) We all need days like that!
We have rain, too, and I even turned on the heat :eek:

Laurie, do you have a squat rack or do you do that at a gym? i was just looking at my unopened squat rack legs and wondering about putting it on EBay.

Hiit Double Wave Pyramid and ARX this morning. Didn't get that workout in last night, had to take DD13 in for her follow-up visit to the dr. She is doing really well, and the Dr. is going to keep her on the bc pills. DD13 is very happy that her TOM is now regulated. Can't say as I can blame her. ;)

Susan, Sorry to hear that your DD is so sick, you are right that isn't the way to end the school year. I would be happy that the rain caused a cancellation also. :D DH built a fire, just to get the dampness out of the house.

Lala, I think you are right on Hiit helping with those tuck jumps! :D WTG I actually did the workout at home, and used a weighted vest. That way I could have a lighter barbell to lift over my head. Walmart has a 20 lb weighted vest that is pretty good, it is from Goldsgym. I also used my Cathe tower to put the weights onto the bar, then I only had to lift the weights a little way. :eek: Hey that thing is suppose to be able to handle 350lbs. I don't think I will ever be lifting that much weight. :eek:

Hi there! School is officially out for the kids! Yea! We made it!! I have to work for a bit tomorrow and then I too am free!!!:D:D Yesterday I did do BFBM and so far today I walked and ran. Think I'll go down and do some pilates too. I printed out a 10k training program I am going to try this summer. It only has me running 3 days a week which is nice. It's from halhigdon.com

DD is feeling better. They said it was not strep but that a lot of kids were coming in with strep symptoms but not having the illness. Just some virus going around.

TaeBo Get Ripped #1 this morning, and I'm planning on yoga for after work.

Oldest DD went back to her natural hair color, so I no longer have a blondie in the family. :confused: She did put blonde streaks in her hair though, and it really does look pretty cool. Both girls will be done with school in about an 45 min., so I'm sure they will be in a really good mood tonight. I'm hoping that DH would like to get out in the convertible tonight, suppose to be really nice out.

Susan, Glad to hear that your DD doesn't have strep. Hal's programs are really good, and doable. Good luck with the running, one of the best ways to up the endurance.

Lala - Good job on your 10K. For me, just finishing would be an accomplishment. Are you going to continue running and do more races? Mowing is a great workout. I should do it more often but now that DS is old enough it's become one of his jobs to do so I wouldn't want to interfere with that! LOL I agree with you about HIIT making those tuck jumps easier. I need to HIIT it again soon (pun intended). :p

Susan - Which Jillians are you getting? I'm waiting for Bob Harper's new dvds I pre-ordered. I should have waited for reviews but I like Bob and decided to take a chance. Hopefully they're good. I was hoping for a rain-out on Monday night. We had 3 places to be at once so it was a lot of running around. I'm glad school is out, too. Woo hoo! Feel like celebrating! DD had a 120 slide PowerPoint to do and I had to keep cracking the whip all weekend to make sure she got it done. Glad I won't have to worry about homework for a few months.

Laurie - My DD never knows when she's going to get her period. Sometimes months go by without getting it. I'm not too concerned and her doctor isn't either. I was the same way in high school. C'mon, you don't think you can lift 350 pounds! ;)

FINALLY got a decent workout in last night. Did Shred #1 and #2. This morning I did a 1 mile walk outside. Hope to get more cardio in tonight. Don't know what yet.

My treadmill died on me last nigh, just stop completely 6 min. into my short run. DH thinks it is something with the circuit board. :( Totally love doing interval work on that thing. Well I did get in my yoga PY4H Daily Dose of Bliss. This morning was STS Disc 30 Shoulders, Biceps and Triceps. Would like to get in Barry's 5DA floor cardio and ab work from Coremax or a Cindy Whitmarsh workout from Exercise TV On Demand after work.

DD17 went to a party yesterday after school was finished, and she was suppose to be home by 10pm. Well I gave her a grace period, and then started calling. She of course lost track of time, and had her phone in the car because her ex bf kept calling her. :rolleyes: We called her friends house, and then she called us back. I totally understand that having fun and time gets away from you. :rolleyes: Guess the worry will always happen, but I couldn't go to bed without knowing she was home. 11pm is way to late for me to get to bed. LOL :eek:

Susan, Let us know how that Bob Harper workout is, I'm interested in that one too. Probably will wait for it to get to Target. When is that Jillian ab workout suppose to be out? I was the same way with my period when I was her age, my DD's just wouldn't stop when she did get one. She had this last TOM for two months, and the bc pills where the thing that helped stop it finally. Right now with the different hormones in her system she is a little emotional, but the dr said that should get better. :eek:

Laurie - I know EXACTLY how you feel about not being able to go to sleep when DD is not home. My DD went over to a bonfire last night a few houses down and I told her she needed to be home by 10 so I could go to bed. I felt kind of bad making her be home so early but I wouldn't have been able to sleep either. Luckily, she came home at 9:45 so I didn't have to call or stay up until 11. You're probably tired today. That stinks about your treadmill. Hope it is something that can be replaced quickly and cheaply.

Did 30-30 HIIT this morning followed by 2 Leslie Fat Burning miles. Bob Harper's dvds should ship today so hopefully I'll be able to do them and give you guys my feedback next week. I'm off this afternoon! Summer hours - gotta love 'em. :D
 
HI there! Okay, well today was the elliptical for 45mn and Pilates Ring dvd. Tomorrow I start the 10k training and am to run 2.5 miles. I'll probably add something else when I get home.

Laurie, sorry to hear about the treadmill! I hope it's something you can get fixed easily! How long have you had it?

Sue, I ordered the Yoga, Shred, and No More Trouble Zones. I ordered them through Walmart and they were only $8 each with free shipping. I thought that was pretty good. They are supposed to be in the next day or so. Have you watched Jillian's new TV show at all?
