Hello Ladies! Great to see that Badger Hockey team win this weekend!

I had an awful weekend. I was so sick. I have this awful cough that keeps me awake during the night. I am so tired!! Needless to say my workouts have only been walking the dog the past few days! I was supposed to do MIC this morning but couldn't wake up! I hope this bug is out of my system soon!!

I hope you all are feeling well and that your weekends were enjoyable! Stay strong - Susan

Morning BB's,

Susan, sorry to hear about your cold, hope you feel better soon. I have been trying to avoid that nasty flu bug.

Today is a rest day for me, so I'm planning on doing stretching. Ran the farthest I have gone on Sunday, 6.5 miles. :D Only had to stop once to tie my shoelace. x( I watched the race on TV while running, so maybe that is what motivated me. Didn't want to run outside this weekend, still to cold for me. I hate running in the cold, must have been from all those years having to play softball outside, just after the snow left the ground.

Need to call my mother to find out if she needs anything for the large influx of the family this weekend. My MIL is mad at me because we will not be spending Easter down here. I usually try to be in Milwaukee every other year. Last year we where here so now we spend this year with my parents right!!! I have always been the bad DIL, oh well.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Hi BBs,
Just a walking workout this morning but happy that I got up and did something. Also happy that it is looking and feeling like Spring is here! Spent yesterday raking the yard. Dh and I were trying to get some of the nut shells and sticks picked up as well as rake up some of the areas that look matted down. We are having a service fertilize this year to see if the lawn looks better. It could use a lot of help.

Laurie - nothing wrong with alternating families. Your MIL should understand that you and DH need to spend time with your family too.

Susan - hope you feel better. SOunds like the cold DH and I had. Mine was in my head more while DH had more of the cough. It was 2-3 weeks really bad and another 2 to completely go away. This strain seems to really linger so hang in there and it will go away.

Jill - Just wanted to say "Hi" if you stop by. The end of tax season is near!!! Any news on the house/condo?

Good morning,

Susan, I hope you feel better. I was sick with that cough/cold all week last week and am still not fully recovered. Hang in there.

I tried to run over the weekend but had pretty poor experiences both times. My energy petered out both times after about a mile, so I had to try to walk/run back home. It's so frustrating to think that I SHOULD be able to go a certain distance, but my body just says no. The mini-marathon is getting so close; I'm really nervous about losing my base, which I'd built up pretty well. It's amazing what a toll a few little germs can take on your body — I keep thinking that I should be able to will my energy back, and it's just not working.

My brother and I had our first co-ed softball practice yesterday, and I'm sore! Didn't do much... just some throwing around and batting. I think I have forgotten how to play defense; I couldn't field a ball to save my life.

Laurie, sounds like you had a great run. Great job on your distance! I'm a bad Catholic... I didn't even realize Easter was this weekend. Sheesh. I hope you work things out with your mother-in-law.

Marie, isn't it great to see some signs of spring?

Take care,

Ellen

Laurie - Don't feel guilty about missing Easter with your in-laws. We do the alternate year thing except if we've been spending a lot of time with one side of the family vs. the other, we try to weigh that, too. Very rarely does everyone make it for a holiday on either side - except for Christmas.

Marie - I SHOULD have raked yesterday! It's been bothering me but I wanted to ride my new bike yesterday instead. Bad homeowner!

Susan - Hope you're feeling better soon. At least the weather is nice for dog walking.

Ellen - When is your race? Yeah, those nasty cold germs are evil. All I've wanted to do the last few days is sleep. I'm sure you'll bounce back in no time.

Hi, Jill! (If you happen to stop by.)

Called in sick on Friday so I could get some extra sleep and get rid of this darn cold. It helped but the cold still lingers a bit. Did MIS lower on Saturday, MIS upper on Sunday and some bike riding with the kids on the Glacial Drumlin trail. Bought a new bike at the Wheel 'n Sprocket show at State Fair Park and had to break it in:) It's a 24-speed hybrid by Giant. Much nicer than my old bike. This morning I wanted to do cardio but woke up still not feeling 100% so did Pilates instead. At least I did something. . .

Hope everyone can get out and enjoy this gorgeous day!

Sue

Sue - your new bike sounds really nice. Glad you got to break it in. The raking will unfortunately not go away so will be there waiting for you.

I will agree about those nasty cold germs esp this strain which seems particularly evil and long lasting!

Hope all BBs are healthy soon.
