Morning BB's,

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

No workout for me yet, just didn't feel very good this morning. But I plan on getting a 2m run and BBC Total Body in later tonight.

Had a pretty good weekend. We took the family to breakfast after church, only one slight problem. They seated us in the smoking section. When I called the resturant they didn't say that there was a choice. Should I call the resturant and tell them that they probably should inform people of this fact? It wasn't bad, but every once in a while you could smell someone smoking. x(

I will only be working for 4 days this week, taking Friday off for a trip to the parents house for Easter. Can't believe that it is here so fast. DD10 will turn 11 on Wednesday, so I will be making some Frog Cupcakes for her class.

Sue, Hope you had a good flight into MKE. You really did have some good weather for flying.

Susan, Did you have a good weekend?

Have a great day!

Laurie

Hello there and Happy St. Patrick's Day to all! I've got my corned beef and potatoes in the slow cooker!:) My kids love that stuff!

My weekend was actually pretty boring! LOL! Saturday I did IMAX2 and took a 50mn walk. Yesterday I was in a cruddy mood and I didn't do anything!x( Today I start a new rotation I wrote out last night. Monday is CTX Kickbox then chest/back/AB work.

Laurie, the restaurant should have asked whether you wanted smoking or non. I personally cannot stand the smell of smoke and if there were small babies around you don't want them subjected to that stuff!

Sue, hope you managed to enjoy your weekend!

Susan

Laurie - Hope you're feeling better tonight. I almost started another BBC rotation myself. It was between that and Fitnessfreak's 1 hour per day (or less) for fat loss. I just can't get my butt out of bed any earlier to do 60 min. workouts. Most of the workouts are in the 40-45 min. range which is doable. That stinks that the restaurant didn't mention they were putting you in the smoking section. They must be new. I don't think a hostess has ever NOT asked for smoking or non-smoking unless the restaurant is totally non-smoking - which I wish all of them were;-) Frog cupcakes sound cute! Your DD is only 2 weeks older than my DS. He turns 11 on April 2. Good for you taking Friday off. Enjoy your long weekend at your parents!

Susan - I actually like boring weekends.:) Gives me the chance to catch up on reading and other projects. Happy St. Patty's Day to you, too! I don't think my kids have ever tried corned beef but they're pretty fussy eaters so I don't know if they'd like it. You're lucky if you have good eaters.

Well, last week I had high hopes for working out at the hotel. Brought my portable dvd player and everything. Used the treadmill a couple of times and did yoga and a few crunches but that was it. I was basically LAZY. The time change plus not sleeping well away from my own bed didn't help. I'm calling it a recovery week even though it was less than a week. Didn't workout Friday night or Saturday either and ate horribly. Started over yesterday with Gauntlet and a good day of eating. It's time to really focus on the diet again. Spring is coming! Well, according to my calendar anyway on Thursday. :)

Sue

Hi BB's,

Today I did CC#7 on the bike. I love that workout, the music is awesome. I also did BM2 upper body and abs. Just walked a mile both Sat and Sun. I take off every weekend now.

Laurie, kids grow up so fast. The years just seem to fly by. Hope DD10 has a great birthday. The cupcakes sound cute.

Susan, For a boring weekend, you sure got some good workouts in. I have never made corned beef before. It sounds good.

Sue, hope you had a relaxing weekend. Did you just get back from a trip or something?

DD15 joined track this year and is trying out sprints. We have a potluck to meet the coaches tonight. DD15 is also driving with her learners permit. Yikes!! DD16 will turn 17 on Easter and DS13 will turn 14 next Thursday.

Hope you all have a great day.

Hi, Karen! So nice to hear from you. Learners permit? Oh, man. I'm so glad I don't have to deal with that YET but soon enough I'll have to. Your kids are growing up fast, too.

Just got back from a class for work in Dallas. It was a LONG week. No time for site-seeing and missed my family and own bed. Glad I don't travel for work much.

Are you familiar with iTread? I took a survey on their website and received a free download which I tried out at the hotel. Never did an MP3 workout before so didn't know if I'd like it but I did. Don't know how it compares to CC but you might as well get the freebie anyway. There's a thread on Video Fitness with a link. Otherwise, just go to itread.com and poke around.

Have a good day!

Sue

Hi Karen! Glad to see you back! Sounds like you'll be busy with the track! You have a lot of Birthdays close together! Hope they enjoy them!

Take care- Susan

Sue, I did the survey and got a download a 30 min sprint. I do have and icycle and an outdoor itread. I really like those. I got them all free over the years with their free codes. Glad you are home and in your own bed. It must be hard to be away for work. I don't suppose you get extra money.

Morning BB's,

Todays workout was 3m Run and LowMax Blasts.

I felt much better this morning, and got a good nights sleep in.

Karen, great to talk to you again. Your DD is going to do track, good for her. DD14 is in track too, and has a meet tonight. I don't have to walk the dog quick, and head out to pick her up. That is usually what happens after work. When she finally is able to drive it will be a good thing. Looks like the both of us had babies in March. My oldest turns 15 next week Friday.

Susan, I have never attempted to make corn beef. I would eat it, but wonder about the family. :D I have had it at resturants on St. Patricks day, and it was very good. :9

Sue, Have you decided on a rotation? It has been a loooong time since I have tried The Gauntlet. I also have to watch how long my workouts are, just not a lot of time for me to goof around trying to figure out what I want to do. And I have to look at the time of each workout.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Hello there!

I slept in today so Ruby hasn't gotten her walk yet, but I promised her I would do that later! Today is CTX Power Circuit followed by shoulder & leg work.

Yeah, the kids loved the corned beef and the DH was in heaven. It was so moist and yummy! I could eat that everyday! LOL DH told me to go buy more while it's on sale and stock up!

Laurie, you sure are doing well on your running! I hope to start up again April 1st (that's my goal anyway!)

Sue, how are you doin? I too like to try and keep my workouts no longer than hour except on the weekends.

Karen, how is it up north? Hope you had a good winter. More snow fell today I guess but missed us!

Stay strong- Susan

Hi,

Today I did CC#6 (Sean) on the bike and stretchmax. I also shoveled 7 inches of heavy snow. Yuk!! I am so ready for spring.

Laurie, glad you are feeling better. You really are doing a lot of running. Watching you post has gotten me going on running too. How is DD 14 doing in track this year?

Susan, sorry you did not get your walk in today. Glad the corned beef was good last night. It is a good idea to stock up if its something you guys really like.

Sue, great job on the weight loss. I just saw it on the bottom of your post. You must be getting some great workouts in. The Gauntlet, thats a tough one.

Have a great day all. I have a choir concert tonight.

Susan - It's nice that Ruby is so agreeable as far as her walks go;-)

Laurie - I'm going to try FitnessFreak's 1 hr rotation for fat loss and add-on as time allows. Most of the workouts are 40-50 min. so I should be able to add-on at least occasionally. If not, at least I won't feel guilty about not getting my workouts in. It's getting harder and harder though to fit my workouts in.

Karen - To be honest I'm probably up a little bit after my trip. Will wait until the end of the week to weigh and see. My inner thighs are still sore from the plie squats in Gauntlet (done twice). Owie! Sorry you had more of the white stuff to shovel and wet and heavy stuff, too! Ugh. I guess Jimmy the Groundhog was wrong when he predicted an early spring.

This morning I did Musclemax Upper Body premix. Dojo tonight for the first time in 2 weeks. Hope I haven't fallen too far behind everyone else.

Hello! :D

Well, I woke up on time today so Ruby got her walk! It was so nice outside! I also jumped on the elliptical for 40mn followed by Bi's and Triceps work.

I think I am taking the kids to see "Horton Hears a Who" today. Looks cute.

Sue, how was Dojo last night? Where did you get Fitness Freaks rotation?

Laurie, is Cami enjoying the nicer weather too?

Karen, my DH was wondering how much snow you all got up there this winter since his parents cabin is in Mikana? He's worried about the roof!

Have a great day! The sun is shining here!

Morning BB's,

Todays workout was PY4H Daily Dose of Bliss.

DH had to take DD to school this morning with her Frog cupcakes. She was really happy, and put a lot of work into the things.

Oldest DD had a good meet yesterday. She was the first runner on the 4x800 relay team, and she had a half lap lead on the next runner. The team came in first on that one. She also was the lead on the 4x400 and they came in 3rd. So far these meets have all been non-conference. Don't know when they actually start their season.

Susan, Bet Ruby was a happy girl getting her walk in. Cami is loving the warm weather, because it is bringing out all kinds of critters. She is laying at our back patio door, and every once in a while she jumps up and starts barking. She hardly ever barks, so it startles you. :D My DD's want to see that movie too. I have heard a lot of good reviews for it.

Sue, I have looked at some of fitnessfreaks rotations. She really does a good job on those. Many people have done them with good results. How did the Dojo go last night.

Karen, Sorry to hear that you are all getting the snow. I really missed my running when I started doing P90X, but decided to get going again with it. I have been starting out slow with a novice marathon training (Not that I'm going to do a marathon). Just found it a good way to get the miles under my belt. Yesterday I actually ran one of the 3 miles in 9.40 mins. :) I'm shooting for at least a 9 min mile pace.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Susan - Master K. worked us real hard last night at Dojo! Surprised I'm not sore today. Lots of moaning and groaning going on from everyone else, Hee hee I got Fitnessfreak's rotation from the rotation forum. The post was dated March 25, 2007 if you're interested. Sorry I don't have time to do a search and include a link! Glad Ruby got her walk in. Sounds like you had lots of energy this morning. Probably has something to do with the warmer weather.;-)

Karen - How was your choir concert last night?

Laurie - That's so cute hearing about your DD and her frog cupcakes. Hope her day is extra special today! :) A 9:40 pace is great! When I used the treadmill last week at the hotel the fastest I went was 6.5 mph but only for about 60 seconds! LOL 5.8 seems to be the magical number for me. So are you sore from running after being away from it for awhile?

This morning was All Step cardio and extra stretching. Tonight I need to do SJP abs.

Our Dojo swaps out their equipment every year and sells the used stuff to its members so I bought a standing kickbox bag last night! It was $100 for a normally $200 bag. It's in good shape, too. Just have to fill the base with sand or water and we're good to go. :) They had 13 bags and they all sold out within 2 days. I can't wait to do Kickbox Strike Zone with it! My new toy. . .

Okay, dog lovers - this one's for you:

It made me laugh this morning so I had to share!

Good Morning

I did CC#3 on the treadmill. I finished 4 miles in 26min 40 sec. My best yet. Kept my steady state at 6.5 and went up from there. We got a free treadmill from my husbands secretary. It's old and doesn't have a manual incline and only goes to 8 miles an hour, not even enough for an all out sprint. I am still glad I have one. Also did Michelle Dozois slim, strong & sexy body sculpt. I really liked it but I love band work.

Susan, this was one of the biggest snows we got all year. When you guys were getting bombarded, we didn't get much. My DH didn't shovel our roof once and he has previous winters. I'll bet all is good. Glad you got your walk in this morning. It's nice to see the sun.

Laurie, that's neat your DD put so much work into the cupcakes, I'll bet they are cute. DD15 did a great job in her relays. The first track meet is Mon. for the team up here. Nice job on your running. Weren't you doing extra cardio-running with your P90X rotation? How did that turn out. Did you gain more muscle, tone or lose weight.

Sue, glad you had a good Dojo class. Does Kickbox Strike Zone have a bag in the workout? Nice deal on it. Can't pass up a good deal. Have fun with SJP abs. I like that whole workout.

Have a great day all.

Karen - You rock! Your 4 mile time almost beats my best 5K time of 24:30 (accomplished when I was MUCH younger!) KSZ doesn't have a bag in the workout. They have people working with partners holding a focus paddle and since I don't have a partner, having a target to punch or kick will be great! I know Amy Bento's Kickbox Sweatfest has a bag in it but from what I previewed of the first few minutes she doesn't even touch it! Wierd. I'll have to go back and look at it again.

Sue

Edited to add: I just realized that Amy's Kickbox workout is Kickbox Xtreme not Sweatfest! I'm thinking of Tracy Staehle's which I also have. Getting old. . . ;)

Hello there!

Well the sun is shining bright here today! Hard to believe we're supposed to get snow tomorrow!x( The weatherman said it will melt quickly however.

Today was a brisk 35mn walk and then Step Blast!

Hope you all have a great day! Susan

Morning BB's,

Todays workout was GS Chest & Tri

We will be heading up north tomorrow to visit with the parents. Guess I'm trying to avoid the snow. :D We will be leaving in the middle of the snow, and should be getting past it all by the time we get around Madison. At least I hope so. Not fun driving in bad weather.

Sue, Wonderful price on that bag you got. You should be able to use it for the boxing workouts that Cathe is going to do next. (hopefully) KSZ will be a good one to use that with. Kickbox Extreme is suppose to have something on it too, but I think it is short. I was sore at first with the running. Now that I have been doing it consistently for 7 weeks, I am only sore after the longer runs.

Karen, WTG on the run. Yep I was doing extra cardio with the P90X, but I only did one day of running. I would do around a 30 min run total. I don't think the extra cardio hurt my strength at all, I was still able to go up with the weights. But..... I have noticed that the consistent running is helping with the stomach, I went down 1" after I started. I have watched my DD lose fat from running, and she really doesn't have all that much to lose. :7 :7 That is what got me thinking that I should get myself back into it again, and the fact that my knee was feeling better. ;-) Besides my stomach, my legs are starting to look better too.

Susan, I know I can't believe that we will be getting the white stuff either. Hopefully it is just winters last attempt at saying a goodbye to us. ;-) One can hope can't they! :7

Have a great day!

Laurie

Susan - I hope the weatherman is right and the snow does indeed melt quickly! It's great you're able to get your walks in. I did so well last year with my walking but this year I just don't want to deal with the cold and ice.

Laurie - That's great that you've lost 1" around your stomach from running. Maybe I ought to make a trip to the Y to use the treadmill until it's warm enough to jog outside again. Hope the snow is done and roads are clear before you head out to your folks.

Did SJP abs last night. It seemed especially tough last night for some reason. Abs were burning like mad. This morning was Musclemax Lower Body + Butts Gutts Floorwork. Rest day tomorrow and looking forward to it! My lower half was sore from Tuesday's Dojo workout BEFORE MM & B&G this morning!! Hope there's not too much snow to shovel. Grrrrrrrrrr!
