Hello there! Hope you all had a nice weekend. Mine was busy but good. My workouts were different.

On Friday I went to the library and they have exercise videos there. Anyway, I saw some "Firm" videos. Now, I have never tried any of the Firm workouts before. I have always had Cathe. But I was in a mood so I said why not and brought 2 of them home. One was Firm Cardio Blast and the other Maximum Cardio. I tried one of them Friday, Max. Cardio. It was o.k. Definetly not Cathe! Then Saturday I decided to try a DVD my friend had given me. It was a Denise Austin Bootcamp. This is one of her new ones. I am not a fan of hers but I thought I would try it out. It was an o.k workout but I had to really push it to get my heart where I like it. I would use it on my easy days. When I do something other than Cathe, well, nothing compares to her in my opinion!

Today is Cardio Kicks since I didn't do it on Friday!

Have a great day! Susan

Morning BB's,

Well my foot does have two planters worts on the heel. x( Doc shaved off the callous that had formed on the top. Apparently this is a classic way worts like to hide. :D Go figure. Anyway I didn't have any pain after the appointment so I did KenpoX on Friday. By that night my foot was on fire. Took some Tylenol and that helped quite a bit.

In the morning it started hurting again, but after taking some Tylenol again the pain went away. I did Chest & Back and ABX. Took it easy of course, and no pain in my shoulder. I'm still not attempting Yoga!

Sunday morning my foot hurt again so had some meds. No workout, and watched the race. The race was really exciting, but my driver was caught in a wreck on the last lap. Oh well!

This morning my foot didn't hurt too bad. I'm waiting to see how it goes before taking any meds. I will be making an appointment to get the worts laser treated. Doc said it should only take about two treatments to get rid of them.

Susan, I am not a fan of Denise Austin either. I just can't stand the way she talks. :D

Have a great day!

Laurie

Morning BB's,

Glad everyone is doing well. Today I am doing Drillmax and abs.

Have a nice day.

Hi, Karen! Thanks for asking about me. The ankle is feeling much better. Have fun with Drillmax today!

Laurie - Hope your foot feels better soon. Now I'm glad I didn't go the doctor and have mine taken care of! Just kidding ;-) At least you had something you wanted to watch on TV yesterday while you rested. Did your guy even finish? I heard 1 car crossed the finish line in flames! That's got to be scary.

Susan - I've wondered about the Firm cardio ones so now I know not to waste my money! Thanks. Don't get me started on Denise Austin . .

Friday was super busy at work. One of the girls I work with called in sick so I had to cover for her on an already busy day. And then another girl left early so I had to cover for her, too. I worked right thru lunch, realized when I got home that I forgot to do something so had to signon from home and then ran over to school to help out at the Sock Hop. Whew! And then I worked in the kitchen selling water and soda non-stop for an hour and a half. At least it was a lot more fun than standing around watching kids full of sugar and caffeine run wild all night. Plus, it was a good workout running back and forth with cases of water and soda. After my walk around the block I collapsed into bed. Can't even remember what I did for a workout Friday morning??? I think it was a full body weight workout.

On Saturday I did Gilad Step 'n Tone. Still trying to steer clear of high impact for awhile even though my ankle feels pretty much normal so I don't re-injure it. This workout is very boring but it really makes me sweat and gets my HR up when I use 5 pound dumbells and an 8" step. Did the lower body toning and abs, too.
I wish Gilad would do more advanced stuff. I started working out to him in college with my roommates when he was on ESPN so I have this nostalgic attachment.

Yesterday I planned on doing CTX Upper Body Split but only had time for chest and back. This morning I did shoulders, tris and bis plus the standing portion of Butts and Gutts.

Have a good day everyone!

Hi ! Today I am going to sit down and figure out a new rotation. I have been going day to day for a while now but I really like to have a rotation to follow. So I don't know yet what today has in store! I am going to look through Cathe's old rotations and see what I can come up with!

Sue, I hope your ankle is feeling better.

Take care ladies! Susan

Morning BB's,

Yesterdays work out produced no pain in the shoulder. Yipee! And my foot was only slightly sore this morning. Nothing that a little pain med won't take care of. I'm thinking I will deal with it until just before I go home. That way it won't hurt during my workout after work.

Today will be KenpoX, this is the last time I will be doing this one for quite a while. :D Although I do like this workout, I'm getting to the point that looking at Tony is getting kind of boring. :)

Sue, My driver for the race didn't cross the finish line. ;( Of course the driver who took him out and almost the whole field of cars is the one driver that I can't stand. :D

Susan, Good luck on choosing a rotation. Cathe has some good ones depending on what you want to target. I'm looking at one of her's for after P90X. Probably something totally different from what I'm doing now, just to shake things up. }(

Have a great day!

Laurie

Laurie, I have never tried P90, have you had good results? How does it compare to Cathe? I have heard a lot about it but I get too chicken to try it!

Susan

Susan, The P90X is way different than Cathe. For one thing you do less cardio. The strength workouts are different in that they work your back and then do a chest exercise then go back to the back etc. If you are looking to increase your strength this is the way to go. The only problem is that you are doing the same workouts for 90 days. By the end of 60 days I didn't want to look at Tony too much longer. But once you pick up how the rotation goes you can sub in Cathe workouts. It usually works 3 weeks strength and then 1 week recovery also. This is something that I have never done in the past. And will be incorporating in the future. Hoped that helped. I am glad I purchased the workouts, but then you have to like Tony's personality also. He can either come off as funny or annoying.

Laurie

Morning BB's,

Today is a run and legs or spin and legs. I am hoping it will warm up before I get ready to workout. I'd prefer a run to a spin.

Laurie, glad you are doing well with your injuries. Are you just subbing kickbox of the X or are you going to sub others too? I am also interested to hear your results. You don't post to much about them like others do. Yes, I am a lurker at many other forums.

Sue, hope yesterday was less busy than Friday. Has the sugar worn off the children yet. It sounds like it would have been enough to sustain them on a sugar high for a couple days. I bet they enjoyed the sock hop though.

Have great workouts everyone.

Karen - Yes, I think the sugar has worn off the kids;-) Of course, they've consumed new sugar in the meantime so it becomes an endless cycle. Hopefully it's warm enough for your run today. Watch out for ice! It was treacherous on my daily walk last night but hopefully during the day you won't have that problem.

Laurie - You must be coming down to the final stretch now of P90X - Good job! Hope I can stick to it like you did once I start my rotation. Glad your foot is feeling a little better. Would wrapping it or using thicker socks help while you're doing cardio?

Susan - I've always loved CTX Upper Body. I'm thinking of alternating this and B&G to see what results I get. Are you using one of Cathe's rotations or something you made up yourself?

Okay, I had my "Fat Tuesday" donut today so now I'm ready to be good for Lent:)

Decided to be brave and test my ankle today with LIC cardio premix and it was fine. Yipee! Looking back on what I was doing before my ankle started hurting, it was a lot of high impact and more cardio. I realize now I just can't do all that impact anymore without paying the price. Maybe now would be a good time to start P90X with the emphasis on weights and less cardio. I was waiting for DH to read the information that came with the dvds since he wanted to get up to speed first but he's been so busy I don't know if I want to wait for him anymore. I'll ask him and see what he says.

Sue, hope you liked your donut!;-)

I used 2 of Cathe's old rotations and combined them into one. I think it was a Fat Loss rotation and a body fat/shapely legs rotation. We'll see how it goes.

I was going to do a High Intensity Rotation she had, however, it seems like too much impact for me right now. I guess we're getting older!

Susan

Good Morning BB's,

Yesterday I ended up doing Barry's Bootcamp Butts and Legs and the cardio from that dvd as well. Today I plan on doing a run. It's already 27. I am wondering if it will be to slippery to run. If it is I will find some other cardio. I am going to add Barry's Boot Camp shoulders/back and arms/abs.

Susan, have fun with your new rotation.

Hope you other two ladies are both continueing to recover from your injuries.

Have a nice day.

HI there! Today is IMAX 2 for me. I haven't done this in a while so I am a bit nervous!;-)

I am sore in my chest and biceps after CTX Upper Body yesterday! Ouch!

Have a great day!!

Morning BB's,

Today will be Back & Biceps plus ARX.

Karen, I wasn't a very good girl before P90X, I didn't write down any numbers. But needless to say I have had results. I'm down a pant size and have lost 5 lbs. My shoulders and back are more defined as well as the abs. I will probably be incorporating P90X and Cathe for a future rotation. I see you are attempting Barry's Bootcamp again. I have those also, but haven't really had a chance to use them. I have done some of the treadmill workouts, and so far I have enjoyed them a lot.

Susan, great idea mixing up the rotations. That way you also get the variety you are looking for. CTX Chest, if I remember, has the really long segment of chest presses with the barbell. And the biceps segment is one that really works to failure. Way to go!

Sue, I wish thicker socks would work for these worts. I now realize that I've had these things for longer than I thought. I was under the impression that I had some heel spurs or something like that. Last night it was painful, I'm actually looking forward to getting these things removed. }(

Have to go to church tonight, because I have to sing for the Ash Wednesday service and DD13 has to acolyte. But I plan on getting the workout in before I have to leave.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Karen - Hope it's ice-free so you can run outside. I'm looking forward to doing that myself one of these days.

Laurie - Sounds like you're having amazing results with P90X. High five!

Susan - I'm sure you'll do fine with Imax2.

Did CTX Upper again this morning plus All Step abs. I LOVE the chest work in this one! Someday I hope to do the pushups at the end on my toes like I normally do but I'm so fatigued by then there's no way.

Tomorrow I hope to get a short cardio in before we leave for the Dells. Kids are off school Thursday and Friday but DS has a basketball game Saturday morning so we're only staying 1 night at The Wilderness. Hope to do Butts & Gutts this weekend and more cardio.

Have a good weekend everyone in case I'm too busy to checkin tomorrow morning.

Sue

Sue, I did get my run in. Only 3 miles but it was after X chest/back and abripper. It sounds like you will be busy this weekend. Enjoy your trip to the Dells. When are you going to start the X?

Laurie, way to go on the results. It makes me want to try to stick to the P90X rotation as is. It's so hard.

Karen - I don't know when I'm going to start the X. I was planning on talking to DH while we're on vacation the next 2 days and he's more relaxed. He's been so busy I know if I tried to bring it up I wouldn't get a real answer.

Question for Karen & Laurie - Do I need to preview the X workouts before I do them or maybe just 1 cardio and 1 weight w/o to see what they're like? I haven't viewed any of them yet.

Sue

Sue, I don't think you need to preview. They are pretty slow moving, he is very good at telling you what to do and its all easy choreography. I was going to start with you when you started.

2/22

Hello! Hope everyones week is going well. I have had my son home sick for the past couple days but looks like he's heading back to school today! I'll be so happy once Spring is here and these sicknesses weaken.

Today is a bit of jump roping followed by Leaner(Meaner)Legs. }(

I did survive IMAX 2 yesterday! I usually have a rough time with interval 5. Those 7 leaps across with the plyo and air jacks. But I did really well and felt very strong!

Have a great day ladies!

Susan
