BUFF BADGERS 2/1

Pedmom

Cathlete
Hi Badger girls! Just want to let you know I haven't forgotten about my Badger buds. Just been super busy with work and getting the house ready. Someone is already coming to look at it tonight! I have to work at the office today, so I had to get a lot of cleaning done last night. I'm beat, and I'm sure this day will just DRAG.

Hope you're all well!
Jill

Morning BB's,

Today is swimming day, but I have been doing such light workouts recently that I think I will try to do Low Impact Step tonight!

Jill, missing you on the thread, but glad to hear that things are going well with house! Selling a house is alot of work!

They have a dietian coming in to work today! I'm sure she will just be giving the basics that I already know, but maybe there is something she will say that I haven't heard! It is only for a half hour also.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Hi All!
I popped in to read yesterday but didn't have a chance to post. Last night was spinning and my butt still has not adapted completely although it does recover quicker. Glad I rejoined the gym to take these classes. It is working out well with my schedule and gives me just enough of a real class to satisfy that need.

Jill - WOW - Someone looking at your house already! Are you listing this with an agent? Did you decide on the condo if your house does sell?

Good morning,

I have a lot to do today, so hopefully the day will go quickly. I like being busy :) I had a good run this morning, so I'm feeling good. I like getting it done early in the day.

Jill, good luck with your house showing!

Take care,

Ellen

Hi ladies!

Jill - I hope the house goes well for you! We've sold 3 on our own. Two sold super fast and one took a while. Best of luck!

Laurie - Does the dietician talk to you one on one or in a group? Either way, there seems to always be more to learn doesn't there?

Marie - Is spinning difficult? Where my hubby works they have a Corporate fitness center that puts most health clubs to shame! It will cost only $130 for me to go there for 3 years!:) Anyway, they offer Spinning classes and I am tempted to try but also scared!
They also have an Olympic size pool, racketball courts, step classes, circuit classes. They have an awesome cardio room, and weight training room. I want to sign up and go about 3 days a week just to add some "spice" to my routine.

Today is Kick, Punch, Crunch!

Have a nice day and see you tomorrow - Susan

Susan - can you try a class before you decide? I don't think spinning is hard at all. I think it is one of the easier kinds of cardio classes to modify based on your level. You adjust the intensity of the workout by how fast you pedal and how much tension you use. The instructor and music makes a difference too. I am not fond of bike riding but like spinning class. If the Corp Fitness Center is convenient so that you would go, it sounds like a great deal.

Hi Everyone,

Jill - Good luck with the house showing and everything! My lord, if we had to get our house ready to show it would take a fleet of Merry Maids working 24/7!

Laurie - I've never talked to a dietician. Hope you learn some useful info. Maybe they'll tell you that it was very recently discovered that cheese, chocolate and chips speed up your metabolism! THAT would be GREAT news! :)

Marie - Hope your new spinning shoes are helping in your classes! I've never "spun" before.

Ellen - Good job with a morning run. That's great. Hope your classes are going well so far!

Susan - I don't have Kick, Punch & Crunch. I'm thinking about getting it, though. Do you like it?

Last night I did MIC hi/lo 2 times and omitted the step portion. That's about all I had time for. We have a kindergarten open house to go to tonight, so I doubt I will get any w/o in at all today.

Have a good day, everyone! - Sarah

Sarah - I LOVE KPC! I try and do it about once a week. I have Cardio Kicks which I like also but find I get a better, more thorough workout from KPC. I do not have KickMax which I know a lot of people also highly recommend as I do not have a DVD player in my exercise room yet! Susan

Sarah - Ditto what Susan says about KPC. It has better combos than Kickmax and Cardio Kicks although I like KM and CK, too.

Marie - Did you get a chance to ask your spinning instructor about how to do spinning to thin the thighs? I'd like to know what she says.

Jill - Good luck on the house selling! Hope it goes quick.

This morning I did Cardio Party 1 followed by the Kickmax blasts and leg conditioning drills. This was a very good combo and burned lots of calories. It really helps me having a list of all the blasts in KM handy while I'm doing them. "Mental preparation" I guess you'd say. I should do those leg conditioning drills more often, too, because I really feel it in my "trouble spots" afterwards.

Have a great day everyone!

Sue

Thanks, Sue & Susan

Thanks for the recs re: KPC. I only have Cathe's older kickboxing stuff (Cardio Kicks, CTX Kickbox) so I'm anxious to try both KPC and Kick Max. I've heard good things about the way they work your legs. Thanks, Badgers! - Sarah

RE: Thanks, Sue & Susan

Sue - we talked about burning fat by spinning and she said to keep your heartrate at 70-75% rather than going higher. I have a different instructor on Saturday and will try to ask him the same thing to see what his thoughts on this are.

The spinning shoes were a good purchase. So much nicer than having your toes in the little cages. And with short arms it was a challenge to try to bend over to reach them. I tried a pair on locally so I knew the size but didn't like the styles. I found a pair on line that they were closing out so the price was good and much cooler looking than the ones I saw in the store. I just had the cleats put on locally.
