BUFF BADGERS 12/1-12/5

Hi Everyone!!

Did get on the computer last night. I was cleaning my house so I don't have to do it this weekend. This weekend I have to clean my parents house. My mom is 70 with many health issues and my dad is 76 and if it doesn't pertain to farming, he doesn't care, so I go by them every other week and clean there house.

Yesterday I did LIC (Low Impact Circuit) but tried making it as high impact as I could. Had a pretty decent workout. This morning I was so tired and had a hard time dragging my butt out of bed but I did then I wasn't sure what to do for cardio. I ended up doing CC #6 plus another 10 minutes or so, so I could at least get 10 miles in on the elliptical. Tomorrow is total strength. Am thinking MIS.

Karen, I try to make sure I'm in bed by 9pm. I average about 6 hours of sleep a night. If I'm dead tired I'll be in bed by 8. During the summer its hard with it being light out later.
You go girl on Imax 3. I remember when I first started Cathe, I was afraid of Imax 3 and it kicked my butt. I haven't done it in a while and it would still probably kick my butt. I had a hard time getting my DH to workout also. It took buying the elliptical and him feeling like crap about himself to get him to do something about it. I showed him BBC and he didn't like Barry, showed him P90X and that didn't trip his trigger, showed him some Cathe and a no go there either. I know what you guys mean though when it comes to working out with our loved ones. DH never comes to me for advice. He always go to someone else and it hurts my feelings a little and ticks me off a little too. :) It is what it is and I try not to let it bother me. Do you think your DH would like Turbo Jam?

Laurie & Susan, Glad to see we're all on the same page. I don't like Vicky either. I want Michelle to win too. I don't like the other three that are left.

Dani, how do you like Jari Love's Ripped and Lean? I have her Get Ripped Slim and Lean and have only done it once and have it up for sale on ebay. Wasn't one of my favorites.

Susan, how did Bootcamp go? I love that workout!! It's one of my favorite. It seems to go so fast.

Lala, what class are you taking?

I'm on board with all of you about eating and working out. I consider myself in pretty decent shape but I know I'd be able to see my abs lots better if I didn't have a layer over the top them. I love working out, it makes me feel better about myself and then also don't feel so guilty when I have something not so good for me. :)

Off to get some things done tonight before Survivor comes on.

Hope everyone has a great night and a great Friday. Probably won't be on tomorrow night as we have plans to meet a friend for dinner for his b-day.

Take Care everyone!!
Brenda

Happy Friday!

Well, Bootcamp went great last night! Loved how I felt, even when I could barely breathe! LOL! Still hate those mountain climbers!

Today is CTX Kickbox cardio and CTX Power Circuits cardio, and of course I walked this morning for 35mn. Boy, it was frigid out there! Brrrr......

My weekend is pretty quiet. I need to finish up some Christmas shopping and find my DD a dress to wear for band and choir concerts. I also have Sunday School to teach and housework to do!

Stay warm ladies! I'll check back later- Susan

Good Morning,

Today I did Lauren's Kettlebell workout and in a while I will do 4DS tri/bi two times through. I am following Fitness Freaks Dec. rotation with a few modifications.

DH pulled something doing treadmill yesterday(he should have been walking on an incline which was set, and not running) Today I had Bootcamp ready for him to do but he said he couldn't do it with his leg. So I put in a kettlebell workout. I thought of a total body workout of Cathe's but they all have lots of one leg lunges etc. and he said he couldn't do those either. I had KPC combo on agenda for tomorrow for him but he says he can't kick. What kind of cardio can I have him do? Plyo X? I don't remember much of the P90X series workouts.

Susan, way to go on doing Bootcamp. Shoveling sounds like a lot of work. I am thankfull we do not have any snow up here yet. Glad you back is feeling better. Enjoy your restful weekend. It is great you will still walk outside with this cold. I wouldn't last a minute before I turned around and hightaled it home. It is 2 degrees right now.

Brenda, it is really nice of you to help your parent's out like you do. It is funny how people get set in their ways and even if everything around them changes they still do what they have always done. Gotta love those CC. I did CC7 yesterday. Nothing better. Great job on gettin 10 miles in on the elliptical. DH is very uncoordinated so i don't think he would care for TJ. It moves at a pretty good speed.

lala, it is funny how excited we can get about others getting into fitness and I was to until I started doing it with him. Hard to please. He really does like kettlebells so if I can just find a good cardio for him inbetween he will be happy. Did you finish you project? As for mitten or glove recommendation get warm ones.:D Sorry can't help you in that dept.

Enjoy your day ladies.

Morning!

Sorry I wasn't around yesterday, but I had to get a report out for work, and I had a really bad pain in my neck. No it wasn't because of my boss! :D LOL! But dang it hurt just to move my head, I'm guessing I slept wrong or some such! So no workout for me yesterday, and probably not today because I don't want to stain it further. I can actually move my head today, with just slight pain.

Dani, Motivation is extremely hard, and it seems harder around this time of the year when we are all so busy getting ready for the holidays. Good thing you are getting your workouts in though.

Susan, Your principal is much braver than I am, because I don't think I will be running when it is below zero. I had a hard time getting out to walk the dog this morning. :D WTG on your workout, and reading your body so well. Shoveling is a good upper body workout.

Brenda, Have a great time tonight, it is always fun to go out with friends on a Friday. You are a very nice daughter to help your parents out like that. My MIL slipt on the ice in this recent storm, but luckily she didn't hurt her back again. I took her grocery shopping when that happened.

Lala, LOL about the "easy" 30 min run. I just take it way way slow, so that makes it easy for me. LOL!

Karen, Let me know how you like that rotation, because I thought it was a well thought out. I take it your modifications will include the kettlebells? PlyoX has modifications if you have knee issues, just have him preview that one and see if it is doable. He can always skip an exercise if he thinks it may hurt him. Can he do the step ups instead of the lunges? The one workouts I was thinking of was Supersets or Push Pull for your DH. Neither of them has push-ups. Supersets has explosive lunges, but he could just not do those. And if nothing else do the exercise with no weights. And instead of using the stability ball he could do the exercises on the bench. MIS is another good one, but I think it does have push-ups, maybe he could do a barbell row instead of the push-up. Tell you DH walking on a TM with an incline will increase his endurance and calorie burn, just as much as running. Some good cardio might be snowshoeing, how about jump rope (or is that not a good one), basketball. There are lots of ideas on bodybuilding.com too.

Laurie, Thanks for the ideas. The funny thing was I did have the treadmill set at an incline and it fell down as he was on it and never noticed so he started runnning to keep his heart rate up there. I came out and told him not to run he was suppose to be walking. He said he has to hold on because when he walks fast the belt slips. It is an old manual treadmill and I guess because I am lighter, the belt doesn't slip for me. Funny you should mention snowshoeing, because we have no snow. We do go snowshoeing in the winter though. Thanks for all the ideas. I hope you neck gets better quickly. Take care and have a great weekend.:)

Well, my rest week is almost over:):(:). Although the dog does run a lot lately, so I´ve been doing a (very) little!
Yes, Susan, that is Tank in my avatar. He´s a greyhound and really nice!
You have been doing some nice workouts. Are you taking a break from Ttapps?

Brenda, you´re parents are lucky to have you to help them. We live in the same town as my inlaws and they are fortunate, too , with my DH...but then we are fortunate too! My class is part of (another) masters degree. It is contempory issues in Latin America. I had to develop a lesson plan complete with research sources and state standards, etc.

Karen, hope DH finds something he can do. Did he pull a hamstring? Those can take a while to heal.

Laurie, I´m sure you´ll get movement back in your neck in no time.

Our windchill here was actually below 0 this am, so DD got out of walking the dog, so I took him out this pm when it was a bit more balmy...13:D But this make us tough, right? Have a great weekend everyone!
