Morning Ladies,

Saturday I got 10 Min. Solutions Knockout Body done, and Sunday was a total rest day. Didn't feel like doing anything. This morning was P90X Chest, Shoulders & Triceps and Ab RipperX. Felt better about the workout today than last week. Must be that I was used to the exercises. ;)

Wasn't to sore from the Tonique workout on Friday, my calf muscles where talking to me though. ;) That night we went to a party, and all these adults wanted to do was play the X-Box Rock Band. :rolleyes: Not my cup of tea, and there was this guy there that kept insisting that I play an instument or sing. I had TTOM, so really was in a foul mood so just wanted to stay in my corner and watch. ;) He kept bugging me all night, he didn't realize how close I was to hitting him. :eek:

Broke down and had candy yesterday! :eek: Oh well a new week starts today.

Hi there! Saturday was a 4.5 mile run and Sunday was a 45mn walk with Ruby. Today I am so tired. DS had me up until 4:30 this morning. He was spooked by something and was having bad dreams. Then my alarm went off at 5:30 so basically I got about 2 hours or so total. My butt is draggin! I am going to go take Ruby for her walk right now cause I think that's all the energy I can expend at this point!:eek:

Laurie, Good P90 workout you did today. As for just touching th candy yesterday? You have more discipline than I!:) That guy deserved to be punched. I just don't like people who don't know when to leave others alone. There is one at every party though.

Hope the rest of you had a good weekend. Mine was busy with Halloween parties and trick/treating. Glad that's over!

Hi,

Today I ran 5 1/2 miles. Was going to do abs but my DS hooked up one of his games and i couln't figure out how to get it out of the tv.

Laurie, Tonique never made me sore either. Glad you had a good workout today. Some people's kids.:rolleyes: That wouldn't have been my cup of tea either. I had lots of candy, the people at some houses were even telling me to take some. Just what I needed was some help being bad.

Susan, sorry you didn't get any sleep last night. Halloween sometimes does that to kids. Hope DS sleeps better tonight. Nice job on the run. How does it feel? I am glad the Halloween parties and trick or treating are done with also. I can definetly wait until next year.

I didn't exercise over the weekend, per usual. No motivation. Just cleaned, did laundry and baked.:eek: yes, baked, I need more sweets.:D Sun. was our harvest dinner and then trick or treating.

Laurie----it bothers me when people can't understand no. Video games is not something I am interested in either.

Susan---sorry your son didn't sleep well last night. Now that all the halloween talk, commercials, etc are over----he will probably settle back down.

Karen----a 5 1/2 mile run is a great way to start off your week.

Yesterday I walked on the treadmill for 45 minutes and this morning was Gym Style Back, Shoulders and Biceps. I am glad I got in my upper body workout this morning. I had my flu shot today and my shoulder is a little sore now.

And YES---I am guilty of having fun size candy bars on Halloween!!
 
Hi! This weekend I did a run on sunday with my SIL but am taking it easy due to my shoulder. Have an appt with the sport doc this Wed. Was home today not feeling great, but did "sweep" some leaves later in the day.

Laurie, nice workout. guess I am the one here who love Rock Band, yet I totally understand someone not leaving well enough alone :( and hope you´re feeling better.

Susan, you are getting great runs in!!! Hope DS lets you get some more zzzzzs tonight!

Karen, despite no working out over the weekend, you always manage to get lots of exercise! what did you bake ;)

Morning Ladies,

Today I had to get going early, needed to vote this morning and have a hair appointment after work. So I opted for Insanity Fast & Furious to replace Pure Cardio. That really was a great sub, and I was done in 22 min. :D

Susan, Oh my on having to be up that long! Hope your ds slept better last night. Hope your have an energy boost for today.

Karen, We didn't have as many kids as last year, so I have extra candy laying around. Need to get this stuff out of the house, or I'm going to be tempted. :eek: Dang on not getting the ab workout done. :(

heartymax, Why do they call those bars "Fun Size". They are so small that your brain thinks you can eat more! Good job on the workouts.

Lala, I'm thinking that the Rock Band would have been fun if it was just my family that I was in front of. These where people that I didn't know, and one of them my DH's employee. Some of these people where my dd's teachers also! :rolleyes: I would have had to have more than one beer to try out that game. :D Hope you have some good news on the shoulder Wednesday.

Laurie----I admire you for getting in that workout even when you are short on time.

lala-----hope your shoulder gets better soon. My hip has been bothering me at times and I am trying to figure out if I need to make an appointment as well.

I opted to sleep in on my day off:D I voted early and have a few appointments today.
 
Laurie - You should have grabbed that guitar and nailed the guy over the head. :D Just kidding. Guitar Hero, Rock Band, etc. is not my thing either - especially with people I don't know that well.

Susan - 2 hours sleep and you still went for a walk?! I think I would have taken a nap instead! It's been beautiful walking weather though.

Karen - I was in a baking mood this weekend, too. Made pumpkin spice muffins (2 ingredients: spice cake mix & 1 can pumpkin) and those were all gone by the next morning. My family loves them. Also did the Clean Max workout and vacuumed under the kids' beds. Talk about scary - yikes! :eek:

Heartymax - Have you noticed how those fun size candy bars have shrunken over the years? The good news is we can eat more! I guess that's the "fun" part. :D Hope your hip is feeling better. Have you tried yoga or stretching?

Lala - Take care of that shoulder and let us know what the doc says.


I had candy, too. Still having it today with everyone at work bringing their leftovers in. I can resist the non-chocolate stuff fine but those Reeses pb cups and Snickers bars are my weakness.

Sorry I didn't post yesterday but I was off. DH had a medical procedure and I had to drive him (the fun one everyone over 50 gets to have). It was normal so that's good news. Did a lot of other running around yesterday. Put on over 50 miles and never left the city limits. Did manage to go for a walk and do some Gilad on Fit TV. Abs are sore so did something good. Also did Biggest Loser yoga over the weekend. Forgot how tough this workout is for beginner level.

WE BEAT ARROWHEAD!!!

It was such a great game. Got there 30 min. early and the visitor side was full so we made our own little section on the Arrowhead side which turned out well because all the action was on our side. (The stadium is so huge it's not like we took any Arrowhead seats away. Plenty of room for everyone and no utility pole smack dab on the 50 yard line to block our view. C'mon, you can't tell me that wasn't intentional.) Great catch in the end zone that bounced off our tight end's fingertips into our receiver's hands. Got a little nervous in the 4th quarter when Arrowhead had 1st down at the 4 yard line but our defense held them and they were unable to score. At that point there was a mass exodus of red from the stadium. (Arrowhead parents) That's too bad. I would have stayed around and given our team a standing ovation for a great season. I'm so proud of our boys. :D :cool: Hope they make it all the way to State. Next up: Middleton. Game is on Saturday at 4 at West but I have a wedding to go to! Ugh! Already told DD she has to text me the score from the game.

Yesterday I worked a bit longer than I thought and the was surprised DH work let him off to vote so again, no workout.

Sue, those muffins sound great. Do you make the cake mix like normal first then add the pumpkin? Glad the results were good for DH. Congrats to your team. To bad you cant go to the game. Nice job getting in a walk and yoga even though time was short.

heartymax sleep is always good. GS is on my rotation next week. I got my tetnus shot and also had a sore arm for a few days.

Laurie, good thing you have that fast and furious. I need to put blinders on with all the candy here.

lala, hope your appt. goes well. Nice job with the run. How far are you going now. I made a coconut cake and some no bakes and some mini chocolate donuts in my donut maker. I need to stop the maddness.

Morning Ladies,

This morning was P90X Back & Biceps along with the Jackie Warner Ab workout from her Power Circuit DVD. I like that ab workout, because she really gets everything worked in 15 min. ;) My biceps are feeling like rocks right now, guess they are pumped! :eek:

Susan, Congrats to the fb team! From what I know Middelton is a tough team, so hope all goes well. Oh I never even though of hitting the guy with the guitar! :D LOL about putting on 50 miles without leaving the city! :eek: You really where doing a lot of running around.

Karen, You are a baking machine! All of those things sound delish. ;) My blinders didn't work last night, I hate coming home hungry! :mad: The blinders will be back on tonight.

Karen - For the muffins just mix the dry spice cake mix together with a small can of pumpkin (I think it's 15 oz. or so). It may seem like you need to add water but you don't. Keep mixing until all the dry mix is gone. You'll probably have lumps so smash those with the back of the spoon as best you can. I made mini muffins and baked them for 20 min. Obviously regular muffins would take longer. They're so easy and no fat. I think it's a Weight Watchers recipe but don't tell my family. ;)

Laurie - Middleton was ranked #6 a few weeks ago. Even though we beat #5 (Arrowhead) and #7 (Verona) already, it'll be a tough game for sure.

No workout last night. Watched Biggest Loser instead and went to bed early. Still had a hard time getting up this morning but I did manage to fit it 1.5 miles of Leslie 5 Fat Burning Miles. This is the one I normally do BTW since it's so time efficient (1 mile in 12 minutes). I am limiting the Halloween candy from this point forward to no more than 150-200 calories per day. My eating has been ridiculous and it's time to get it under control. I could try blinders but I think I need to put the candy in the cabinet over the fridge. It's not sitting on the counter taunting me and I forget it's up there. Then I just have to face the candy at work that everyone brought in. Speaking of baking yummy things, DH made homemade cinnamon bread last night! :eek: Didn't have any this morning and it most likely will be gone or mostly gone by the time I get home. That's a good thing. . . :)
 
Hey there! Sorry I didn't get a chance to post yesterday. Kids were hogging my computer! I did run 3.5 yesterday and today I did Jillian's BFBM. Yes, DS did finally let me sleep. I think I was asleep before my head hit the pillow!:D Tomorrow is supposed to be the coldest we've had in a while and I need to run 3 miles. Hoping it won't be too windy.

Sue, I make a pumpkin bread my family devours. I am baking some tonight actually! Love having some with my coffee in the morning!

Well, all of you are doing so well on your workouts. The Holidays will come and go and we'll see be moving along, hopefully without any extra weight! :p That's why I want Cathe's new workouts to come! She's supposed to help me!

Sue, how do you make cinnamon bread. Can you tell I am collecting recipes. Glad you have a go to workout. I need one of those.

I did end up doing only 4DS upper body premix. Had to work late and didn't have the time before supper. May have to get up early tomorrow if I want a workout as I have a basketball game to go watch tomorrow after school.

I am back! Today I ran the first 2 miles and then did sprints the last mile. Hope to do some pilates after work. Wasn't too bad out temp. wise. Wind was a little brisk!

Karen, I will get that pumpkin bread recipe typed and attach it to my next post! The kids just love it. It calls for cranberries but I do not add them since this family won't eat them! It was yummy with my coffee this morning!:D

DH is working overtime the next 2 weeks which stinks cause then I am stuck running everyone everywhere and doing everything in between. Grrrr... Then he asks why am I so tired??? Men!

Karen - We make the cinnamond bread dough in a bread machine. When it's done rising, we roll it out, add the filling, rol it up and bake it in the oven. Super easy and very good. We give out the bread as gifts (just made 7 loaves for DS' football coaches and team mom) so we have 3 bread machines. You can pick them up real cheap at Goodwill. We had 1 and that's where we bought the other 2. If you would like the recipe I'll post it.

Susan - Sorry to hear your DH is working overtime and putting the burden on you to do all the chasing around. I've been in that same boat the last few months. DH is nervous about his job so putting in more hours which leaves me as the one to do the driving, get dinner ready, nag kids to do homework, take care of Dr. appts., etc. I don't know how single parents do it. You're so good about getting your running in - even in this colder weather! Good for you. :)

Laurie - Hope the blinders worked for you last night. Mine didn't. :(

Didn't workout last night. Did 1.5 Leslie miles this morning. I think I need Bob or Jillian to come over to my house and kick my butt. Maybe if I imagine they're there yelling "NO EXCUSES!" at me I'll get my butt downstairs at night to workout instead of plopping my butt on the coach.

Hang in there - it's almost Friday! :D
 
Hi Ladies. Sorry I didn't check in yesterday but I was sick after work. There is a bug working its way through my entire family. I was home all day today so no workout today.The kids are sick... Yesterday morning (before I got sick of course) I did PUB down only followed by 30 minutes of Travel Fit. I had never done Travel Fit so I had no idea it would not be a great "fit" after doing PUB. My arms were sore.

Sue--those muffins sound delicious. I may have to try those when I am feeling better.

I love the recipes!!!

The doc has me on ibuprofen and ice for another week and basically said that if it doesn´t improve the next step would be an MRI and then cortisone and then surgery. It really does feel better with ice. I discovered, though, that washing the floor was REALLY irritating to it....really!:D:D

so, this has been a rest week..except for leaves. Can´t wait to get running again. You are doing great at that, Susan! Are you doing a race?

Sue, Congrats on the football, and I did see your FB post!

Karen, hope you can get up early...it´s getting hard when it´s so dark out :(

Laurie, I really need to get working on my abs..nice work on those guns!

Morning Ladies,

Yesterday I was not able to get in a workout in the morning, but did get in Yoga Zones Power Yoga for Stength and Endurance after work. This morning was Tonique.

Yesterday morning was very busy, I had to get more paperwork done for dd's application for college. :rolleyes: They still need a letter from the school for her leaning disability. Hopefully this is the last thing that they will need besides her ACT results, and final GPA. I also had a dentist appointment yesterday which resulted in one cavity and a probable root canal. :p The hygenist said that is amazed her how big a cavity gets in my teeth in such a short time.

Sue, Thanks for the info on the pumpking muffins, I think I have a box of spice cake and a can of pumpkin in my pantry right now. ;) Hope West does well this weekend. I hear ya on the single parent thing, DH has been in Boston all of this week so I have been having to do my workout and get the girls up for school. It was really a pain getting them up this morning. :rolleyes:

Susan, I'm wondering when we are getting those workout too, wasn't it suppose to be the end of this month. Wonder if something happened at the replicator. Hope it doesn't get to hectic for you during these overtime days.

heartymax, Ouch on the dougle duty for your arms. Hope you and your family start feeling better soon.

Lala, So now more washing the floor! I would be handing that mop and bucket to my DH really really fast. :D Glad that the ice is working for the pain in the shoulder.

Karen, It seems that we are busier with our teenagers than we where when they where little. :eek:

Lala - I hope the Ibuprofen and ice do the trick. I think you should stop doing all housework as a precaution. :D

Karen - You're doing better than I am and we get an extra hour this weekend so we should both be able to workout, right? ;)

Laurie - Are you liking Tonique? I really like the shorter version on Exercise TV but I looked for it last night and it wasn't there! :eek: Bummer. The college application process sounds fun. :rolleyes: Can't wait. I hope West does well, too.

Susan - Did you get your Pilates in? I love pumpkin recipes so would love to try yours.

I did Biggest Loser Last Chance Workout last night. It felt good to sweat and feel like I got a decent workout in for a change. It's a solid intermediate workout but since I haven't been working out much it was just the level I needed. Jillian keeps it moving, too, so even though the moves aren't hard, it kept my heartrate up. Planning to workout tonight - a quick cardio - maybe a CTX.

Tomorrow will be a hectic day. I have to drive to my Mom's house (an hour away) and help clean to get ready for an Open House on Sunday. (We've been trying to sell it since July.) DD has a 1 Act Play competition so needs to be driven back/forth for that. West plays Middleton in the quarter-finals. And I have a wedding. I really want to attend the 1st half of the football game and then rush to the wedding in time for dinner but it might be cutting it close. Don't know how my kids are getting home from the game either. Hopefully it will all work out. NOTHING planned for Sunday other than church and a workout.
