Morning BB's,

Hope all of you will have a wonderful 2010. I have been trying really hard to get in all my workouts, but some days have been hard because I was so dang tired (and not from to much partying!) This morning I got in W5D1 of GW28K, and plan on 30 Day Shred #1 after work. The run was on the tm, because it was just to dang cold outside for me. :D

Well this will be short and sweet, because I need to get back to work. ;)

Have a great day!

Hi,

Today I did STS disk 1. I am trying the Jan. rotation only doing it undulating. Might add in more cardio as I can fit it in. I can't believe I have to get up at 4:30 to exercise.

Laurie, glad you are getting in your workouts, just hope it gets easier for you. You are really doing a lot of working out though.

Happy New Year to all. Have to get going.

Have a good day.

Laurie - What does GW28K stand for again? It's a running program, right? I figured out W5D1is week 5, day 1. How long does the program go? So no idea why you're so tired? I found that when I started eating better, made myself go to bed early so I could get at least 7 1/2 hours sleep and made myself take rest days that my energy increased. (I'm not saying that's your problem, that's just what helped me.) Could be a lot of reasons you're tired. Have you ever had your thyroid tested?

Karen - Welcome to the 4:30 a.m. Club! :D We're a pretty exclusive bunch so you should feel honored. LOL I thought about doing the STS January rotation but I'd have to sub GS or PS for STS Strength since I don't have that. Don't know if I'd get the full benefit and I'd miss all my other workouts. Never say never though. I may try it later.

Today is a rest day. I did walk at lunch but I don't count that as a workout. Still working my way through the new STS Cardios. I've now conquered both Step Moves and Athletic Step. The choreography wasn't too bad. I remember Rhythmic Step taking several attempts before I got it down. These weren't nearly as hard. Still have to try MMA Kickbox, MMA Fusion, Cardio Core, HITT 40/20 and the HIT pyramid one (name?).

Have a good night!

Hello BB's! Well, I am very happy life is returning to "normal". It was way too hectic this past week. I got in most of my workouts but not all. However, my resolution for the New Year is to not stress over that kind of stuff. I get so grumpy when I miss a workout(or 2!) and tend to take it out on all who are around me. Well, I decided to simply do my best, eat my best( watching sugar/carbs) and not stress over the little stuff. Plus try to get more sleep, BUT, I also want to try to get up early enough to workout so we'll see about that one!;)

Yesterday I tried Leslie Sansone's 5 Mile Fat Burning and did all 5 miles. It was good and I do think I will buy this one for when I want to do something but nothing too much. Today is walking and pilates. I started wearing my pedometer again too in order to keep me focused. At least if I can get my 10thousand + steps a day I'll feel like I did something!

Glad you all had a nice New Years! Let's hope we all stay healthy in the year ahead!

Take care! Susan

Morning BB's,

This morning was Jackie Warners Power Circuit Training: Total Body Circuit, and also 30 Day Shred #1. That was a great combo, and interesting that Jackie and Jillian are very similar in the exercises that they choose. :D Last night I did manage to get in 30 Day Shred #1 after work, since the DD's where busy doing their school work, why not! ;)

Karen, Sorry you have to get up so early, but know that you have company at that time. I'm working out right along with you at that time. ;)

Sue, Oh I know why I was tired, it just happened to be that dreaded TTOM. This month was a wopper too. Guess I must be starting that transition phase for menopause, because I was just bla and crampy for almost 3 days. It amazes me how I am so tired and actually needed to take naps. Yesterday and today where just great for my energy level. GW28K is Gateway to 8k. This program starts you off running intervals, and you gradually are suppose to end up running 5 miles in 50 minutes. I just find it a fun way to get a run in. ;)

Susan, I agree with the hectic week, seems strange to say that going back to work makes things normal. :D Sounds like you have a good game plan. ;)

Have a great day!

Hi there! Today is CTX Kickbox and the last 3 segments of BFBM. I just saw that BL starts it's new season tonight so I am all excited! I have had a terrible sinus headache the past 2 days. Finally bought some Sinutab to see if it works. Might have an infection...:(

Laurie, that was a good workout you did this morning! As soon as I opened my eyes my headache was back and boy was it hurtin'! Stayed in bed a wee bit longer to see if it'd help! No such luck! I noticed that I have been exhausted lately when it's TTOM as well. I too tend to nap more and am just plain pooped!

Hi Karen!
Hi Sue!
Hi Lala!

Have a good night! Susan

Hi gals,

Today at lunch I did HIIT pyramid and the abwork from the MMA Kickboxing workout. Good thing I have over an hour lunch. These workouts are great for getting something in. I didn't think the HIIT workout was that hard.

Susan, I am glad BL starts tonight. I didn't know that so I am very excited. Sorry about your sinus problems. Hope you feel better soon. Good idea to track your steps again. You seem to get lots of exercise in just running around.

Laurie, do you think Jackie's workout is worth getting for 8 bucks? Are you doing the Jack and Jill rotation I have read some people are doing or just happenstance you are using both of their workouts? Glad you are enjoying running.

Sue are you liking the Shock workouts? As far as the Jan. rotation, I'll bet you could sub any of the series you mentioned. On your recovery weeks you could do your other workouts so you don't miss them. I actually plan on adding in some other fun workouts every 3 weeks. I haven't tried the step workouts yet. Are they intense enough to be your only workout of the day?

Hi Lala, hope you are staying warm.

Have a great day.

Susan - I'm somewhat glad to be back at work and back to a routine also. Glad you like the Leslie dvd. I agree - it's great when you want to do something but don't want to work so hard. I gave a copy to 2 gals at work - 1 hasn't tried it yet and the other one loves it. I'll be watching BL tonight, too! :D

Laurie - I never made that connection between being tired and TTOTM. I thought the reason I wanted to nap last week was because I was in that lazy "I'm on vacation mode". :p That might have been part of it but I'll bet TTOTM played a part. Wouldn't it be neat if all us 4:30 a.m. workout people could see what the other people are doing? "There's Laurie jogging on her treadmill." "There's Karen doing STS." :D :p Just kidding. I wouldn't want anyone to see what I look like at that time ot day. Want to hear something funny? I read the running program you're doing as 28K instead of 8K. I thought to myself. Wow, Laurie's going to run over 17 miles.

Karen - Yes, I like the Shock workouts so far. As far as the intensity of the step workouts, I have to try them again now that I've mastered (well maybe 90% mastered) the moves. I spent so much time rewinding I coudln't keep my heartbeat up very high. I may try the rotation after I've done CCC and KB to see what they are like. We'll see.

I did Shred #1 and 2 this morning. Forgot how tough those workouts are. If I have time and energy tonight I may do Shred #3. Also walked for 30 min. at lunch.

Hi BBs!! Today is my rest week, and boy, am I resting. I feel SOOO tired, maybe for the same reason as you, Laurie  but last night I slept for 10 hours and right after work, the exhaustion hit again :( So I´m spending some time here, maybe grading some papers, and then off to bed!!

Susan, I´m having some sinus trouble, too :( I´m surprised because I always thought that in the winter that wouldn´t be a problem.

Karen, I´m right with you....at 4:45 that is, with the workouts. I´m usually exercising by 5. But it´s so great to come home after work and know that I´m done! Can´t wait to try the other STS cardio...my toe is getting better :D
You have time to go home for your lunch and workout? that´s convenient!

Laurie, for being tired, you are doing some intense workouts! How long do they last?

Sue, sounds like you´re having fun working through STS cardio! Keep us informed on your opinons!

Hi,

Today I did STS disk 2.

Sue, so, the step is hard to figure out in her new step workouts. You are going to love CCC. I'll have to pull out Shred again.

Lala, Hope you are feeling well rested today. I am always glad when I don't have to exercise when I get home from work. It is nice to come home at lunch but it is really rushed to do my workout and it has to be a short one. Don't like to do it to often because there is not enough time for a shower either.

Have a great day.

Morning BB's,

This morning was a run on my tm doing W5D2 of GW28K. I really could have run outdoors this morning, but Cami had sniffed out deer on our walk, and I just didn't want to fight with her. :D I really like having her with me when I run in the dark, even though she is a big softy, she doesn't look like it. :D After work I would like to get in 30 Day Shred #2.

Susan, Tis the season for those sinus headaches, since our houses tend to dry out in this lovely cold weather. All I have to do is look at my dry flaky skin! Hope that Sinutab helps keep those headaches away. What a great combo you made, I really enjoy getting in two different workouts.

Karen, Jackie's new workout is all weight lifting, but is different that Jillians No More Trouble Zones. I think Jackie's personality is better than Jillian's also. For $8 this is what you get. Total Body Workout which is 40 min. (I will tell you that her warm up and coold down are not much, maybe about 2 min. each). 3 Circuits for Legs, 3 Circuits for upper body, and 3 circuits for abs. Each of the circuits consiste of 3 different exercises, then she has you do a circuit blast of all three exercises for a min. Sometimes I feel like it is a little rushed, but is does give you a burn if you use heavy enough weights. She also has the following 15 min. workouts on the DVD. Abs, Upper Body, Lower Body, and Total Body. I have not looked at these yet, but have heard that they are different. I'm going to preview some of those and get back to you. I didn't know that there was a Jack & Jill rotation, I just subbed in Jackie's in place of Jillian's Quick Trouble Zones workout that she had on her rotation on ExerciseTV.com. They both came to about the same amount of time. ;)

Sue, LOL about the 28k. Heck no I don't think that I'm going to attempt that amount of miles. I to wouldn't wan't anyone to see me running on my tm with sweat running down my face, and mid-section. I underestimate those Shred workouts also. ;) Her shoulder work makes me want to cry!

Lala, None of my workouts have been over an hour, unless I combine. But the Jackie workout is 40 min., and the Shred workouts are 20-25 min. My running has not exceeded 58 min. yet, but will probably go as long as 64 when I start increasing the interval time. Usually when I run I get my Shred workout in after work.

Have a great day!

Karen - I don't think the new step workouts are that tricky to learn but there is a definite learning curve. Rhythmic Step and Step Blast were much harder to conquer. It helps that these are shorter workouts and some of the moves are familiar or variations on old. I didn't preview either. You're doing great fitting in your workouts over lunch.

Well I didn't do Shred #3 last night or workout this morning. We had major network problems last night so was on the phone with people from 6:30 last night until 2 a.m.! I was NOT happy. Only 4 hours of sleep. Grrrrr. I get to leave early though. :D

Hi gang! Hoping today is the Elliptical ( Extreme HR intervals) and 10mn Solutions BBT for a couple sections. Was up until almost 1am with DS. He just couldn't sleep and was not feeling the greatest but he woke up and went to school! I am tired after only about 3.5 restful hours! Feeling like napping while I type! DD has a Dr. appointment and then I need to take her to Confirmation class... I'll see what I can squeeze in...

Sue, that sounds like not a fun night!!:( Hope you get more rest tonight!

Laurie, I admire the work you are doing with the running!

Karen, you are doing really well getting the workouts in. Whether they are long or short, at least you are doing something!:D

Hi Lala!! Enjoy the rest week!

Susan

Susan - You had an even worse night than mine! I hope YOU get rest tonight. I got to leave work at noon. Came home and napped about an hour. You convinced me I should do a short cardio tonight since you're working out on even less sleep.

Not much exercise news here ;) But sounds like you are all going strong...especially on such little sleep, (Sue and Susan!)

Karen, glad you are finding time to do your workouts...it´ll get easier!

Laurie, most of my workouts are an hour or less, also, especially lately...it seems that I really don´t like to do much more than that.

Morning BB's,

Long drive to work, seems no one knows how to drive in snow.

This morning my workout was 30 Day Shred 1&2, so the total time came to 50 min. Then I decided that I needed to get my butt going, because I knew traffic would probably be bad, but my normal drive is 30 min. Today was 1-1/2 hrs.

Sue, Hope you got some sleep last night. ;)

Susan, Hope you also manged to get some sleep last night. ;) If you did get some of that elliptical in then WTG. :) I'm hoping the weather isn't to bad tomorrow, I would like to get a run in.

Lala, Everything I have heard lately backs up the hour or less workouts. I just reread Tom Venuto's Burn Fat Feed Muscle, and he is a big advocate of not going over 45 min. for cardio. HiiT of course is the big buzz word lately, but I find that those type of workouts are really helping me.

Have a grea day!

Hello there! Hope you are all staying warm! Today's workout ended up as shoveling and blowing and then more shoveling for 2 hours!:p I was so cold and wet and miserable when I got in the house! Took a nice warm shower and feel almost human! I took almost 20,000 steps with my pedometer today!

I ended up not getting the workout in last night...:( Helped DS with homework, took DD to confirmation, helped DS again with homework, picked up DD and then it was time to get ready for bed! Thought I would be able to just crash but did not sleep fitfully. Hopefully tonight!

Laurie, glad you made it to work okay. How was the ride home? I got NMTZ from the library again so I can check and see if I still like it before I buy it! Hope to do this one in the morning (if I am not shoveling again!).

Hi Sue! I am watching my sugar intake and so far am down 3.5 pounds! It's amazing how much sugar is in certain foods!
Hi Karen!
Hi Lala!

Take care- Susan

Morning BB's,

Well no running outdoors for me this morning, so I got on the treadmill. W5D3 of GW28K is finished, and I would like to get in 30 Day Shred #2 when I get home. Our driveway was drifted over this morning, and walking the dog was a workout too. We got lucky at one point, there where tire tracks to walk in. :D

Susan, Sorry to hear that the sleep isn't coming easy for you. :( I would think that the snow removal process will make your body crash. ;) Congrats on the weight loss, and you are right on the sugar. Biggest downfall I have. When I got that Jackie Warner DVD, there is a little booklet that comes with it. Apparently she is coming out with a book in April, and from the excerp it appears that she is a big advocate of reducing your sugar intake. I actually want to read her book.

Have a great day!

Hi all,

Not doing very well at getting my workouts in really. I missed yesterday and today I just did 40/20 Hiit and 10 min. ab and 10 min. leg workouts from exercise tv. I was suppose to do STS legs today. Everytime I get up at 4:30, I seem to get sick and so tired I can't function. I just don't think I can do that. I don't sleep well as it is so I really am even limiting my rest time. I'll have to come up with something else. The weekends are crazy busy and I really can't fit it in there either.

Laurie, nice job getting your workouts in. I haven't walked our dog for a very long time. It is so cold. It sure took a long time for you to get to work yesterday. Is Shred still challenging for you to do?

Susan, that is a long time to shovel. I only shoveled for about 15 min. and my fingers were frozen despite my gloves. Nice job on the weight loss. You really do have some great self control. I am still a very slow work in progress in that area.

Sue, hope you got caught up on your sleep from a couple of nights ago. I need to find time to try the step workouts and for that matter the rest of the Shock series.

Lala, How is your toe? I find I am keeping my workouts shorter, even if I can fit a longer one in. Just don't have the energy anymore. I wonder how biking this summer will be.

Off to get groceries. We have a basketball tournament all day Sat. so I have to get them today.

Have a great weekend. I am hoping to get in some form of exercise this weekend.

Hi there! Today was a short/intense workout on the elliptical followed immediately by Jillian's NMTZ. I am going to buy this one. I hate the shoulder work(she makes me feel wimpy:eek:) But I love it overall!

My weekend in kind of quiet. Saturday is just errands. Think I'll do Rhythmic Step. Sunday DS has a Bball tournament but I have to teach Sunday School. I might try to make it for his last game, or I might not!:p I told DH to record it all on the new camcorder I bought him for Christmas! Will be watching the Packers too!

Laurie, you are doing so good on those workouts! You are going to be one buff Badger!!:D

Karen, don't stress over missing workouts! Something is always better than nothing. I know during the school year, it's tougher for me too.

Hi Sue!

Hi Lala!

Have a great weekend! Go Pack Go!!

Susan
