BSN Lean Dessert Protein

Hi Everyone,

I saw on another post about protein powders that this one is a favorite of everyone's. I'm curious as to whether it has an after taste at all. I tried a protein powder years ago and it was hideous...don't recall the name though. I just wonder if it's going to taste funny.

:)

Reese, individual results may vary. :p

I've tried a "house" brand powder and just this morning I tried some of the Jay Robb.

The BSN is by far the best tasting IMO. It does not have any particular aftertaste.

The thing that I like most about it is that it gives a really nice, creamy consistency to whatever I make with it. It's usually my morning oatmeal.

I have the Banana Nut and the Fresh Cinnamon Bun. I happen to like the Banana Nut better, it's a "softer" taste if that makes any sense. The cinnamon is a little sharp - more like those little red cinnamon candies.

I'd like to hear from anyone who has tried the BSN in a hot beverage. I've been thinking about just throwing some in my coffee but am nervous about a. wasting a scoop and b. wrecking the all-important caffeine.

I just use plain ol' "Designer Whey" with my skim milk in the a.m.....tastes pretty good to me :9

I love this protein shake. I have the Choc Fudge and Vanilla and mix half a scoop of each with skim milk.

Love this stuff! Chocolate fudge pudding, coconut chocolate candy bar, banana cream pudding, and whipped vanilla cream, are the yummiest flavors!:p :p

I'm on my first can of unflavored Designer Whey which I picked because it won so many taste tests. All I can say is, if DW is the best tasting it must all be pretty awful because it tastes like sawdust! But i still make my morning oatmeal with the stuff (it's NOT creamy). I might go looking for the BSN, just to see, though.

Where are you all finding BSN?

Perhaps because you went with unflavored? The strawberry and chocolate taste just fine to me. To each her own... ;)

I got hooked on this stuff with the last thread,so far I have only had chocolate and its very good! I'll throw a tbls of Natural peanut butter in there or a banana..:9 or its delish by itself!

I ran out of the chocolate pudding so I just ordered some with the vanilla...there are so many interesting flavors it was hard for me to choose,LOL! Next time I will choose the cinnamon or the banana nut bread!

I also ordered from vita.com where its only 14.99 !

BSN is the only protein powder that I've tried and I'm stickin' with it. I think it's great. I love banana cream & whipped vanilla. Not diggin' the chocolate fudge for some reason.

I've been drinking this every morning for the past week or so: 1/2 c cold water, 1/2 c 1%, 1 scoop whipped vanilla BSN, 2t instant coffee, 1T ground flax and mixed it in a blender with 4 ice cubes. :9 ! I call it my "cup 'o joe" protein shake!!

I also agree about Vitacost.com. Best prices and fast shipping!

I really can't take credit for this concoction Michelle, the recipe is in the EFL cookbook..:p . I did add the ground flax seed, though, so I'll take credit for that!

It is really good and has replaced my morning coffee craving!

ETA: Maybe I should try the instant coffee in a chocolate protein shake, kind of like a mocha-chocolate kind of thing...

I don't know that I could do a shake with water.....I think I'll stick with skim or soy milk.

I love BSN as well, and I've tried so many. Most of them make me gag, but this one is pretty good. I don't think I'd use it with just water, but it's great with 4 ounces of milk, and the rest water and crushed ice. I also like it with 2 ounces of milk and 2 ounces of sour cream instead of 4 ounces of milk - sometimes it seems a little too sweet with just milk.

For a sweet treat after a meal, I mix soy or whey protein power with a spoon of honey, a spoon a cocoa, a few teaspoons of evaporated milk and a few crushed almonds or pecans. Mix it up for a quick pudding/candy dessert. Good after for lower protein meals, and you get the good nutrients in chocolate and raw nuts. Eat slowly, enjoy, no guilt.

These are absolutely WONDERFUL! I have the Banana Nut, Cinnamon Roll, Chocolate Fudge and Chocolate Coconut and they are all great. They don't have an after taste at all. I've tried many, many protein powders in the past and most have been horrible. These are so good it makes you feel like you're cheating!

Love this protein powder! So glad I tried them from the last post on them. I have tried (and love): Choc. Coconut Candy Bar, Banana Nut Bread, Banana Pudding and Cinnamon Roll. YUM!

I enjoy one scoop every morning in my Malt O Meal hot cereal. It's the bomb!! (my favorite is the Banana Pudding!) I've never tried it as a drink with milk but I should.....

Thanks to everyone who brought this great product to my attention. :)

I would love to use shakes but I am lactose intolerant. I buy the slim fast lactose/gluten free and those are good.

These are my mainstays...love them! Not as fond of the vanilla and chocolate fudge flavors though.

The Lean Dessert proteins are lactose free by the way!:p
