Botox didn't work?

Anyone here have Botox that didn't take? I'm frustrated! I spent $$ on Botox injections to soften up my frown lines and it didn't take. I can stil frown with fury and nothing is softer. What to do? An I owed a retry or does this happen sometimes?:(

How long has it been since you had the injection? It can take up to a week before you see the full benefit. It it doesn't take, you should definitely call the doctor and let him/her know. They should give you an additional injection for free.

Did they tell you to frown alot that day, it helps the botox to work better. That's a lot of $$$ to spend and not have it work.

Very good advice to call the Doctor & let him/her know. They need to know when their patients are unhappy!

I have heard of "watered down" botox. I also think technique/know-how on the Doctor's part is important. I am in love with botox and have gotten it from 5 different docs. The first stuck me so many times I almost told him to stop after one side! (crows feet) I wanted to cry. He also marked my face up which no other doc has done since. At least it was effective. One doc did a good job on the area between my brows but the crows feet area didn't take AT ALL. And he was the most expensive! My current doc is amazing-- I don't even know how many times I get needled, but it's not much and it's over in no time and is incredibly effective.

It is ridiculously expensive! I need it again, but worry about $$$. I think a competitor is getting ready to get in on the action, so maybe a price war will ensue! Keep your fingers crossed.

if it hasn't worked then go back and they will re-do it for you. any good doctor will. if they don't then give them hell.
how long ago did you have it done? i've had it done twice now. the first time it took about just over 2 full weeks to stop being able to move my eyebrows. and let me just say, that even with strong botox, you can still move them abit and frown, abit, so you won't stop moving them completely. it all depends on how long ago you had it done. 2 days ago? 4? 6 weeks?
give it time. it takes time. i love the effect botox has. i don't even try and raise my eyebrows anymore. i have a completely line free forehead. the crows feet area though it not as good. which is a shame. but hey ho ....

Another botox junkie here--my dr. always tells me it takes at least 7-10 days to take effect, which is not normally the case w/me, it usually takes about 48 hrs. But my dr. also says if I'm not happy w/the results to come back & she'll touch it up.

If your dr. refuses to do this, register a complaint w/the American Society of Cosmetic Surgeons--or at least threaten to & see if he/she will re-do it. If he/she refuses, register the complaint so it'll be on record. I know I fully research drs. like this before I get treatments, so this should be enough to get your dr. to do the touch up.

Also start looking for another dr. Do you know anyone else who does botox? Referrals are the safest way to go. Also the botox site has a registry of their certified drs., so that's another great resource.

ETA: Goworkout--I heard there was a competitor out there ready to go, & the botox co. bought them out, so there goes the competition/price reductions. :-( Right now botox has a complete monopoly & will have for some time to come.

I think it depends on where you live. When I lived in southern VA it cost me $125 a visit--what a deal! Almost worth the flight down for it........

Now I live in the NYC metro area, it costs anywhere from $375-$550, plus as of last year NJ added a sales tax so you can add 6% to that.

I get it done every 12 weeks or so.

every 12 weeks! wow ... i'm every 4 months at present. love it. fantastic. just wish the eye area was as good as the forehead...
