Bosu Ball vs. Bosu Trainer?

hi,

my dh just gave me a gift certificate to amazon.com for $100! woohoo! i've been dying to get a bosu for a long time, so am thinking this is my chance! :)

but the only two bosu's listed on amazon are the BOSU BALANCE TRAINER $99, and the BOSU BALL $199 (ouch!). anybody know the difference b/t the two? i don't think either one is made by fitness quest...so it must be a knock off of some sort...would this still fill the 'bosu void' in my cardio life? would the $99 'bosu balance trainer' be able to be used for cardio? it doesn't have much info on the blurb at amazon. are all bosu's created equal?

that $100 gcertificate is burning a hole in my pocket....should i go for the $99 bosu???

would greatly appreciate your input!

thanks so much! :)

I am not sure at all so I probably shouldn't attempt to answer, but it might be that the bosu trainer actually comes with tubing accessories that attach to the bosu for extra fitness/toning options, while the bosu is just the plain bosu--price-wise that makes sense. I got my bosu at a fitness conference and it wasn't $99, maybe this one comes with a video?

I'm not sure--sorry if I am wrong.

I can only speak to the BOSU not the BOSU trainer.
In fact, I hadn't done my Rob Glick workout for awhile and did it a couple days ago--SHEESH!!
I really like him (though Cathe will always be #1)but for a nice change--WOW! He has a new one out called "Calorie Combustion" which I bought and looked at but haven't done, looks a tad similar but I do see some different moves so I'm glad I got it. I also got the abs one to that goes with the BOSU. I think, but don't quote me, there are more workouts with the BOSU than the BOSU trainer. You can do BODY BAR workouts(or just use handweights)with the BOSU that you can buy online also.
Hope this helps!!

Mary:)
I also got another one with a girl that does weights and aerobics with the BOSU but I'm blanking on her name at the moment, just go to the website and you'll see it :)

I took a look at amazon's web site and the Bosu Balanace Trainer and the Bosu Ball are the same thing (I think because Amazon actually ships from different vendors, the price varies, but this is ridiculous.) I have a Bosu and had never heard it called a Bosu ball. I'm not sure what that $199 price is about but I don't think it's worth it. My Bosu Trainer came with a basic video also. I managed to get at at a steal for around $30 on clearance.

Someone on the boards, (sorry I can't remember who) suggested using Cathe's Basic Step DVD with the BOSU...and man what a workout. If you ever thought the Basic Step DVD was too easy, this will change your mind.:D Collagevideo also has several other titles for under $25 if you want to expand your library.

All that said, I'd go with the $99 one....

Hope this helps.

thanks everyone! :)

hmmm...sounds like the $99 one, is the way to go! can't wait to try rob glick's workouts on it...and seasun is also coming out with a new bosu workout soon! yaaaay!!!!! i can now join the 'bosu craze' (well, about 5 years "after" it started! LOL)

thanks again!
