Boot Camp Beats Per Minute

Hi Cathe, I know you are busy, but if you have a moment, I'm trying to find out what beats per minute you used on bootcamp. It's such a wonderful workout, and as a fellow instructor, was wondering what beats you used. Thanks!

Hi Angie! I am not cathe, but I will try to help you. I believe that bpm changes with each section. For instance, the cardio might be at 145- 150 and the weights around 130. That is generally what I find for bpm. Its just a guess, but I hope it helps. -Tina

I'm not Cathe either, but I believe the bpm ranges for the cardio segments are as follows:

Cardio segment 1 (jacks + airborne jacks): 145-150 as Tina said
Cardio segment 2 (sumo squats): 135 - 140
Cardio segment 3 (jacks + jabs + plyo jacks): 145-150
Cardio segment 4 (side-to-side leaps): 135-140
Cardio segment 5 (squat-thrust climbers): 124 - 128
Cardio segment 6 (sequential power kicks): 124 - 128
Cardio segment 7 (kickbox knee smash etc.): 145 - 150 bpm
Cardio segment 8 (ice breakers): 145 - 150 bpm

I notice that the same music or beat is used for #1, #3, #7 and #8; the same music or beat is used for #2 and #4; and the same beat (much slower) for segments 5 and 6.

With the lower body segments, I believe the bpm is more a slower step-tempo (again, 124-128). Not sure about the upper body or core, although I believe those too are at more of a step tempo speed.
