Body weight only training

Have you all seen the bodies on the gymnasts. Aren't they amazing. And none of them even touches a weight. It's all body weight training! Which has me thinking... has anyone out there got good results using only body weight?

I used to be a gymnast from elementary through High School. These girls train 8-12 hours a day and follow a fairly strict diet. Nowadays, for me to see results I need to lift wts and of course follow a sensible diet.

I think that's the principle behind yoga. Doesn't it strengthen the muscles using only body weight? Some people have seen great results using only yoga--just look at Madonna!! I'm thinking of incorporating some yoga into my workout routine for this purpose. Just some thoughts on your subject...
 
How does one train 8-12 hours a day? With school, etc...? Or work? Or whatever it is they do (in between). I'm talking about gymnasts that are up and coming, not those that are full time? If you went to school at 8am, then left at 3pm would that mean that you would train from 4am in the morning and 4-9pm at night?

Seems a little bit off to me. I read some articles and saw they trained around 4 hours a day. Which makes sense. But 8-12 hours...
